Former Telangana MP Vishweshwar Reddy likely to join BJP

1

Former MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, who quit the Congress last year, is likely to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

BJP national General Secretary incharge of party affairs in Telangana, Tarun Chug along with state BJP President, Bandi Sanjay met Vishweshwar Reddy and invited him to join the party.

Reddy is likely to formally join the BJP in the presence of party’s national President J.P. Nadda in Hyderabad on July 1, a day ahead of the party’s national executive meet.

An engineer and entrepreneur, Vishweshwar Reddy is husband of Sangita Reddy, Managing Director of the Apollo Hospitals.

Reddy, who was with the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) before switching over to the Congress, had earlier stated that both the Congress and the BJP can’t be an alternative to the TRS.

He had also hinted at floating a new regional party with an aim to defeat the TRS in the 2023 Assembly elections, and was planning to bring together leaders of various smaller parties and even those TRS leaders who are unhappy with Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to form an alternative.

In May last year, he had met Eatala Rajender after the latter was dropped from the Telangana cabinet by Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao following allegations that he had encroached lands of some farmers.

Rajender had later joined the BJP and was re-elected from Huzurabad Assembly seat on BJP ticket in the by-elections held in November last year.

Vishweshwar Reddy had fought and won the Lok Sabha elections from Chevella on TRS ticket in 2014. During his term, he was one of the richest serving MPs.

He is the only parliamentarian from India to be granted a US patent while serving as a Member of Parliament.

As an engineer by profession, Reddy had worked as an adjunct faculty in the New Jersey Institute of Technology, NJ, and Essex County College, Newark, U.S. A successful software entrepreneur, he founded Citadel Research & Solutions, a company involved in engineering research and development.

He quit the TRS before the 2019 elections and joined Congress. He contested again from Chevella but lost to the TRS candidate.

This politician has friends in all parties and only one ENEMY

0

He is not a full time politician, but is seen hobnobbing with all politicians. He is associated with two major political parties, but is not part of any party. He is friendly with all, but is enemies with the ruling TRS. Guess who this politician is? No marks for guessing. It’s Konda Vishweshwara Reddy.

He is a sort of an enigma…!! He is with Revanth Reddy and throws up the “White Challenge” for KTR. At the same time, he is pally with Bandi Sanjay and vows to support Eatala Rajender in Huzurabad.

Konda Vishweshwara Reddy hails from a political family. His grandfather KV Rangareddy was a political stalwart. But, Konda forayed into business and industry. But in 2014, he joined the TRS and became Chevella MP. Soon, he showed his fierce streak of independence and fell out with the party. He joined the Congress, fought for the MP seat from Chevella and lost. He has come out of the Congress and stayed dormant for some time. Now, he is back to active politics, without joining any party. There were rumours that he would join the BJP, but he did not. He himself said that he would work with the Congress if Revanth becomes PCC chief, but is yet to join it.

Yet, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy is able to make a splash and make headlines too. There’s no comparison with Konda. He is unique in that he has friends in both the parties. His aim is to destroy the TRS. But will Konda Vishweshwar Reddy succeed in his endeavour? Let’s wait and watch.

Is this politician Telangana’s Narada?

0

Is former MP and ace industrialist Konda Vishweshwar Reddy emerging as the Narada among politicians in Telangana? Konda’s present actions are raising questions about his political plans and future moves. He is seen along with politicians of diverse and even opposing ideologies.

Konda began his political journey by joining the TRS, which made him its candidate in Loksabha polls in 2014. However, he soon parted the TRS company and joined the Congress Party. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he was the Congress candidate. He again contested from Chevella and lost. In 2020, he suddenly announced that he was resigning from the Congress Party. Then everyone thought he would join the BJP. He too had dropped some hints that he was inching closer to the BJP. Later, kept away from the BJP. Currently, he is not a member of any political party.

The other day, he went and met the new TPCC president Revanth Reddy. Suddenly the analysts and pundits went into a tizzy over whether he would join the TRS. Earlier too, he had said that he would rejoin the Congress if Revanth Reddy becomes the PCC chief. Meanwhile, in another sudden turn of events, Konda met Eatala Rajender. He and former MP AP Jitender Reddy (BJP) drove over to Huzurabad and met Eatala on Wednesday afternoon. They met Eatala during his padayatra and remained closeted in a car for over half-an-hour. Well! No one knows what was discussed. But it was clear that the Huzurabad bypolls had figured in the talks.

Which party is Konda in now? Will he join the BJP or the Congress? Will he be friendly with Revanth and pally with the BJP. Will he support the Congress but help Eatala win the elections? Lots of questions but no clear answers. Will Konda himself tell us which party he is in?

Konda meets minister Niranjan Reddy, what’s up?

1

In a strange political development, former TRS Chevella MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy met agriculture minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy on Thursday, who is known to be the close aide of TRS chief and Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao.

Konda quit TRS just before Telangana Assembly polls in December 2018 and joined Congress.

However, Konda lost Chevella Lok Sabha seat to TRS in 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Konda continued in Congress later but he recently quit Congress in March this year. Though there were speculations that he will join BJP along with Etela Rajender, it did not happen.

Konda is not in any party now. After he quit Congress, he made attempts to launch his own political party or to bring all anti-KCR forces under one platform. He met Etela and several other leaders opposing KCR. But no one responded positively saying that it’s not possible to run a political party and defeat TRS.

Konda later dropped all his plans and maintaining a neutral stand by not joining any other party. At this stage, Konda personally meeting Niranjan Reddy, who is a close aide of KCR, has fuelled speculations that he wants to rejoin TRS.

The present Chevella TRS Lok Sabha member Ranjith Reddy is said to be the close friend as well as poultry business partner of Etela Rajender and speculations are rife that Ranjith Reddy may quit TRS or join BJP anytime. Even if Ranjith Reddy remains in TRS, there is a buzz in TRS circles that KCR will not trust him and he will create a situation wherein Ranjith will be forced to quit TRS.

If that happens, the road for Konda will become clear again in TRS and he can contest as TRS candidate from Chevella again in 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

However, after meeting Niranjan Reddy, Konda claimed that he met him only to submit a representation on resolving the problems being faced by farmers due to delay in procurement at paddy purchase centres and no politics came up for discussion.
