    Stylish star Allu Arjun’s Summer release Naa Peru Surya is doing solid biz in Telugu states. But, the buzz in overseas trade circles is very lukewarm. As reported by Telugu360, the Vakkantham Vamsi directional has no takers in overseas though the release date is fast approaching.

    The makers are very confident about this patriotic drama and expecting a price in the ratio of 10 Crores for overseas rights alone. However, several factors like the debut director at the helm, the untimely release date, genre of the film etc have turned out to be a liability for the film and resulted in lackluster response from trade circles in overseas.

    As they are not getting offers in that range, the producers of Naa Peru Surya decided to take the gamble. They have closed the overseas rights on commission basis. As per the reports, a reputed distributor has come forward to release the film on four crore advance. Trade analysts opine that this is a 100 percent recoverable advance for the distributor and he will get minimum commission in return.

    The film is slated to hit the screens on May 4th.

    Within a gap of a month, three big stars of Telugu cinema are testing their luck during this summer. Mahesh Babu, Ram Charan and Allu Arjun are all set with their respective films and we are here with a short analysis about the summer releases:

    Ram Charan joined hands with talented filmmakers Sukumar for the first time with Rangasthalam 1985. Charan bounced back with Dhruva and Sukumar scored a decent hit with Nannaku Prematho after which the duo is all testing their luck with Rangasthalam 1985. The film has a list of top technicians on board and Samantha played the female lead. Despite of songs and the teasers creating huge buzz, fans are not completely confident because of Sukumar who fell short of scoring commercial hits in the recent years. Too many logics in his films leaves the audience puzzled and the recent re-shoots left the buyers of Rangasthalam 1985 worried. We have to wait to see if Rangasthalam 1985 will end up as a huge money spinner during the season.

    Stylish Star Allu Arjun who has been breaching up Rs 70 crore mark easily with his commercial outings is testing his luck with Na Peru Surya which is a stylish action thriller. Bunny plays an army officer in the film and his transformation received wide response from the audience.     Stylish Star Allu Arjun has been busy wrapping up Naa Peru Surya which is said to be a high voltage action drama laced with a strong social message.     This Summer is going to be an extremely crowded season at box office as a slew of tentpole films are slated for release. Mahesh Babu’s BAN, Rajinikanth’s Kaala and Bunny’s NPS are set for release in a span of two weeks after the dates have been mutually adjusted.

    As these three biggies aim for a solid opening in overseas, they received a huge jolt with the announcement of Avengers : Infinity War release date as April 27 th.

    The major concern for all three films is the availability of theatres. Rajinikanth’s Kaala, which is set for release on April 26th in US, will face tough time to find good screen count. Accommodating Telugu and Tamil versions of Kaala is going to be very difficult given that ‘Avengers’ will occupy majority of the locations. So, will the makers of Kaala reconsider their release plans ?

    Also, Avengers release is going to slightly impact the collections of BAN and NPS. Mahesh Babu’s BAN is releasing on April 19th in US. So, it need to have a very big first week haul to recoup as much as possible before ‘Avengers’ arrive in screens from the next week.

    For NPS, it is the other way around. As two Telugu biggies and Avengers already occupy most of the screens and movie buffs already spend on them, NPS should generate better talk to invite audience to theatres.

    Trade circles opine that three big films releasing in a span of two weeks will surely impact their box office performance.

    After a protracted dispute over the clash of release dates, the makers of Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya( NPS) have met the producer of Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane ( BAN) halfway and sorted out the issue. It has been confirmed that BAN will release earlier on April 20th and NPS has been pushed to May 4th.

    By choosing May 4th, the makers of Naa Peru Surya seem to have barked a wrong tree. Already they missed out on an ideal date April 27th. Also, the new release date is going to be a liability for the film in the overseas market.

    It is known fact that Allu Arjun’s carries a moderate market in overseas. Naa Peru Surya has been getting lukewarm offers due to its genre and a debut director. This has been a cause of concern for the producer. Now, as the film is pushed to May 4th, it is most likely to face stiff competition from Hollywood biggies such as ‘Avengers’ which is scheduled for release around the same week.

Producers have opened the business of these films with some areas sold already. A total of over 260cr is riding on these films worldwide with atleast 225cr from domestic markets.

    1. Bharat Ane Nenu : The film is getting sold for record rates for the hero, an estimated 105 cr Worldwide exceeding SPYder which had a pre release business of close to 100 cr for Telugu Version. It had incurred losses of over 50 percent but that isn’t showing much affect on this film as the combination had delivered a Blockbuster in their first outing(https://www.telugu360.com/tag/srimanthudu). This is second highest pre business for a Tollywood film(Only Telugu Version) excluding Baahubali’s as it fall behind Agnyaathavaasi which was sold for 122.5Cr(https://www.telugu360.com/agnyaathavaasi-pre-release-business-second-highest-tollywood-film/) . The film is scheduled to release on 20th April 2018.

    2. Rangasthalam : The film is estimated to fetch 80cr from theatricals worldwide which is highest for Ram Charan. No film of his has collected 75 cr till date with highest being Magadheera(https://www.telugu360.com/tag/magadheera/) close to 74 cr. The film is hitting the theatres on 30th March 2018.

    3. Naa Peru Surya : With back to back 70cr films Allu Arjun seems to be the safe bet for buyers now. Even with a debut director, the film is expected to bring in 80Cr in the form of theatrical business for the producer. The film has averted the clash with Bharat Ane Nenu and is now releasing on 4th May 2018.

    Summer biggies Naa Peru Surya and Bharat Ane Nenu are aiming for release on the same date – April 26th. As a box office clash between two big ticket films might be unhealthy for all parties involved, trade circles are desperately waiting for one of these two films producers to alter their release plans.

    As both the producers failed to reach a consensus on the release dates despite holding close talks on a couple of occasions, Mega producer Allu Aravind stepped in to sort out the issue as soon as possible.

    Telugu360 learnt that Allu Aravind along with producer K.L. Narayana and Gemini Kiran have intervened to settle the release date clash.

    Gemini Kiran is a key member of Telugu film chamber. On the other hand, K.L. Narayana has Mahesh Babu’s dates for SS Rajamouli’s film. So, he is mediating talks with Mahesh Babu and BAN producer. Aravind wants to end this protracted issue some how immediately as Naa Peru Surya has his son Allu Arjun in the lead role.

    We have to wait and see who backs out from the race. A clarification on the release dates is likely to be out very soon.

    Stylish star Allu Arjun and his team are giving their best for upcoming patriotic drama Naa Peru Surya which is gearing up for release on April 27th this year. Directed by Vakkantham Vamsi, the film has Anu Emanuel as the female lead.

    Currently an important sequence is being shot amidst harsh weather conditions. The team is braving a freezing -12 °c weather in North India and wrapping up the shoot with utmost dedication.

    After receiving a thumping response for the first impact and the first single, the makers have decided to unveil the second song on Feb 14th.

    Bunny Vas and Lagadapati Sridhar are jointly bankrolling the film.
