Naa Peru Surya inspired by Hollywood film Antwone Fisher

After Trivikram Srinivas, who blatantly lifted the story of Largo Winch for Agnyathaavaasi, one more Tollywood writer seems to be inspired by a foreign film.

If the ongoing speculations are to be believed, Allu Arjun’s upcoming patriotic film Naa Peru Surya is a rip-off from Hollywood film Antwone Fisher, which is inspired by a true story and based on the book titled Finding Fish.

Released in 2002, the film is about a temperamental young man, who had a violent past after the departure of his father and later joins the US Navy to eke out a living for himself. The rough life in his childhood causes him to have a violent temper and he is advised to meet a psychiatrist for treatment by the commanding officer. He then meets a psychiatrist who turns out to be his god father.

The First Impact of Naa Peru Surya also glimpses a similar temperament of the lead character played by Allu Arjun. He is violent and tries to control his anger in most part of the teaser and Rao Ramesh is shown as his well wisher.

So, there are few similarities which throw enough hints that Vakkantham Vamshi, the director of Naa Peru Surya, seems to have inspired by the lead character in Antwone Fisher.

BAN and NPS release date tussle continues

The confusion on the release dates of Summer buggies, Bharat Ane Nenu and Naa Peru Surya is prevailing among trade circles as both the producers are indecisive about their release plans.

Naa Peru Surya was the first film to lock April 27th as the release date. Surprisingly, Mahesh Babu’s producer also fixed the same date for Bharat Ane Nenu. Both teams went on to make a series of formal announcements reaffirming their release plans. Both producers held discussions to avert box office clash. But, they couldn’t come to terms. Twist in the tale came in the form of announcement from 2Point0 producer that they are planning to release the film mid April.

Since then, there were reports that one out of BAN and NPS will be out from the April 27 race. From the past couple of days,there were speculations in media and industry circles that NPS producer has locked April 13 as the release date.

The latest we hear is that there is no decision yet taken by NPS producer regarding the change in the release date. The production house has once again asserted that they have fixed for April 27 release.

So, the tussle between both BAN and NPS producers is likely to continue further until one of them budges.

Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu and Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya were supposed to hit the screens for Summer. NPS was the first film to book its berth on April 27th. However, BAN producer surprised everyone by officially stating that they are going to release the film on April 27th. This led to a scuffle between the two producers and as the issue is turning murkier, they decided to amicably settle the issue. Many felt that one film is likely to back out from the race to avert clash.

Then came a rude shock for both NPS and BAN in the form of Rajinikanth’s 2.0, which was officially announced to release on April 27th. This announcement drew flak from both BAN and NPS producers. They decided to seek film council’s intervention to settle the issue. However, both films are now confirmed to have altered their dates.

BAN and NPS have no other option except to look for alternative dates because 2.0 is being released through Asian Cinemas in Telugu states. Apart from the fact that it is a Rajinikanth film, 2.0 will get a huge screen count in Telugu states because Asian Cinemas own nearly 60-70 % screens in Nizam area. So, this will seriously impact both NPS and BAN openings. Hence, both producers have decided to back out from the April 27th race.

It is now learnt that BAN will release two weeks earlier than 2.0 and NPS will release on May 11.
