Rana Daggubati announces an Interesting Project
Rana Daggubati has been focused on producing interesting and content-driven films. Rana and his team announced a small concept-driven film titled ’35 – Chinna Katha Kaadu’. The film completed shooting formalities and the makers announced that the film will hit the screens on August 15th. Nivetha Thomas, Vishwadev, Priyadarshi, Gautami and K Bhagyaraj played the lead roles in 35 – Chinna Katha Kaadu and it is directed by Nanda Kishore Emani. Waltair Productions, Suresh Productions and S Originals are the producers.
Rana Daggubati is presenting the film. Vivek Sagar scored the music and background score for 35 – Chinna Katha Kaadu. The film releases in Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The concept poster of 35 – Chinna Katha Kaadu is out today.
Sudheer Varma stays away from Saakini Daakini
Talented director Sudheer Varma is busy with a bunch of projects. He completed the shoot of the Korean remake Midnight Runners and the film is titled Saakini Daakini. Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas are the lead actors in this action thriller. The film is hitting the screens this month but the film’s director Sudheer Varma is absent for the film’s promotions. The young director already moved on to his next film and is busy with the shoot of Ravi Teja’s Ravanasura.
It is heard that the creative differences between Sudheer Varam and the film’s producer Sunitha kept him away from the film’s promotions. Sudheer Varma made enough changes for Saakini Daakini to suit the taste of the audience but the producer Sunitha is strict on her stand without any changes. She hired a new director and some of the episodes are shot again after Sudheer Varma completed the shoot. The director then decided to stay away from the film and the promotions. He would even skip the pre-release event of the film. Suresh Productions, Guru Films and Kross Pictures are the producers.
Regina and Nivetha’s upcoming Korean thriller remake titled ‘Saakini Dhaakini’
Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas’ upcoming Telugu action film has been titled ‘Saakini Dhaakini’. Helmed by Sudheer Varma, the film is an official remake of Korean action-thriller ‘Midnight Runners’.
The makers of the film announced the title on the occasion of actress Nivetha Thomas’ birthday. It is reported that ‘Saakini Daakini’ has wrapped up shooting as it enters into the post-production phase. The makers are planning to release this investigative thriller before Sankranthi.
‘Saakini Dhaakini’ is an adaptation of the Korean movie ‘Midnight Runners’. The movie is the narrative of two students at a police academy and how they bust a gang of human traffickers. The Korean action-comedy was released in the year 2017, and featured two male actors in the lead. But, the Telugu remake will feature two leading ladies, which are to be portrayed by Regina Cassandra and Nivetha Thomas.
The film is bankrolled by Suresh Productions, while helmed by Sudheer Varma.
Exclusive: Pawan Kalyan suggested Nivetha for Pink Remake
It is official that Pawan Kalyan will make his comeback to mainstream cinema with the remake of Pink. A formal pooja ceremony took place recently and the regular shoot commences from January 2020. Nivetha Thomas has been roped in for the other lead and crucial role in the film. Pawan Kalyan wanted an actress who never looked glamorous on screen and among the choices, he picked and finalized Nivetha Thomas for the role.
The actress starts shooting for the film from January and Pawan is expected to enter the sets from February. The film gets completed in back to back schedules and the makers are keen on having a May release for the project. Sriram Venu is the director and Dil Raju, Boney Kapoor are the producers. Story :
Brochevarevarura has two storylines which are shown in parallel interlocking fashion. First story line is between an aspiring director and a cinema heroine. Second storyline follows three joyful youngsters who are friends. A wannabe director Vishal ( satya dev) tries to rope in heroine Shalini ( Nivetha pethuraj) for his debut film. He narrates script to her, she starts liking the script as well as vishal. In the second story , Rahul ( Sree Vishnu), Rocky ( Priyadarsi ) and Rambo ( Rahul Ramakrishna ) become friends with Mitra( Nivetha Thomas ) – their college mate. These two stories take an unintentional crime turn and interlocked towards the middle of the film .
Rest of the film shows how the three Friends bail out Mitra from her troubled family life
Analysis
Director Vivek Athreya who debuted with a sensible film ‘Mental Madhilo’ , surprises with his second film ‘Brochevarevarura’ which is a contrasting one to the first. This film is an out and out comedy themed one with interlaced crime element. Core story is based on four intermediate college students Rahul, Rocky, Rambo and Mitra. A sense of Déjà vu for the college scenes is inevitable, however movie fails to maintain the grip in second half. Liberal usage of expletives between the friends in second half will be liked by youth but may find difficult for family audience to receive. In general,crime thrillers are meant for a bit puzzle for brain, but in this film it is more lighter vein and oversimplified.There are no special duets , but bit songs come as backdrop ones.
The director – heroine thread is passive and no reasoning has been established why the heroine likes the director. The climax is weak part of the film. Production values could have been better. Director Vivek Athreya has done a decent work with screenplay, but direction in second half could have been better performances. Sree Vishnu , Priyadarsi and Rahul Ramakrishna as usual excelled with their comedy timing. Heroines Nivetha Thomas, Nivetha Pethuraj are performed adequately.
Positives:
- Dialogues between the three friends are hilarious
- Simple crime storyline
- First half twist at interval block
- Uncensored version in USA with liberal dose of expletives (used in funny manner)
Negatives:
- Story appears too cinematic at times
- Patchy second half, Weak climax
- Not aimed for family audience
Verdict:
‘Brochevarevarura’ is a simple story filled with good amount of fun and light dose of crime theme. SreeVishnu ,Priyadarsi and Rahul Ramakrishna trio thread is energetic , their dialogues are quite natural. On flip side , second half is too flat at times with a weak climax. Overall , a decent entertainer which may appeal to youth.

Nivetha Thomas joins the sets of Kalyanram’s Next
Nandamuri Kalyanram is eagerly waiting for the release of his next movie Naa Nuvve which will release on June 14th. The actor signed an action thriller in the director of KV Guhan and the regular shoot commenced recently. Nivetha Thomas and Shalini Pandey have been roped in to romance Kalyanram and the actor’s transformation is already getting thumping response. Nivetha Thomas who has been on a break is back to shoot.
She started shooting for this untitled film from today and the shoot is happening in Hyderabad. East Coast Productions is producing this interesting thriller and the film will release during the second half of this year. More details about the project are awaited.
Tarak’s heroine for Kalyanram?
Nandamuri Kalyanram is lined up with several films and his recent outing MLA ended up as a disappointment. The actor wrapped up the shoot of his next film Naa Nuvve, a romantic entertainer that will hit the screens during May. Kalyanram has been extremely impressed with the script narrated by top cinematographer KV Guhan and he signed the film immediately. The regular shoot will commence from June and the pre-production work is currently on cards.
Young and talented actress Nivetha Thomas who romanced Tarak in Jai Lava Kusa has been roped in to play the female lead in this untitled action thriller. Arjun Reddy actress Shalini Pandey is in talks for the role of the second female lead. East Coast Productions will produce the film which will hit the screens during the last quarter of this year.

Malayalam starlet Nivedha Thomas is the toast of T-Town at present. She is currently busy shooting for NTR’s Jai Lava Kusa.

In a recent media interaction, Nivedha revealed that she rejected the offer because it was a sister’s role. Indian movies have time and again revised the ‘boy meets girl’ love storyline introducing new twists and plots. Vanilla love stories involved plots where the boy & the girl win over the parents opposing their love. And then we got love stories with a bit of tragedy thrown in. And then we have the love stories where the girl is half way to getting married to her parents choice, the lover kicks in,the couple elopes before the all too binding marriage knot is tied. And then we got those love stories where the boy continues his efforts to woo the parents of the “married girl”, eventually convincing everyone that the couple belong to each other.
Regardless of the ‘twist in the love story’, a subtle note in the failed love stories is that the boy strongly believes that his lover is best loved only by him, his love is often superior to any love that her parents’ choice spouse may offer. With a whole bunch of movies underlining this viewpoint, it is not uncommon that the youth of today strongly come to believe this to be true in their lives as well.
So, how true is a lover’s strong belief that his/her love is not their happiest without them in their life? Or is it just an illusion fortified by the hundreds of movies? ‘Ninnu Kori’ movie addresses this viewpoint, (you guessed it) with a bit of twist thrown in. And perhaps it does come close to validating/refuting this belief – something that might get the audience thinking.
Story :
Uma Maheshwara Rao (Nani) and Pallavi (Nivetha) are the boy and girl in this love story. A well balanced love, something that could have progressed into happy marriage. But life happens and Uma relocates to Delhi on a career opportunity against Pallavi’s wishes. Pallavi’s parents perform their parental duty searching for the perfect groom, the NRI Arun (Aadi Pinisetty). Unwilling to disrupt Uma’s career goals, Pallavi marries Arun and moves to Bay Area, USA.
Our boy, Uma dons the role of Devadasu, seeking the company of alcohol. Eventually fate intervenes and Uma lands a job in Los Angeles, USA. At this point the story moves forward predictably, as Pallavi coming to know of Uma’s addiction, tries her best to convince him to stop pining for her and get on with his life. In spite of her attempts, Uma continues to believe that she is unhappy with her married life; how can she be her happiest when she is not with him – the one who loves her the most. At this point, the movie takes an interesting turn with Pallavi and Arun inviting Uma to live with them for a few days. Rather scandalizing, but well justified as the movie moves forward. So, was Pallavi really happy with her married life or was Uma’s heartache validated?
Analysis :
Debutante Director Shiva Nirvana succeeded in delivering a clean film. ‘Ninnu Kori’ is a classy film with a slow paced first half and a rapidly progressed second half. The first half could have showcased better love scenes between Uma and Pallavi. The rest of the film feels practical enough with rich flow of emotions.
Strong dialogues, melodious songs, rich visuals comprising of 65-70% of the film in the USA add up to make a good movie. The songs ‘Unnattundi Gunde…’, ‘Adigaaa Adigaa…’ are pleasing.
Kona Venkat’s scored after a long time with a perfect screenplay. Prawin Pudi’s editing is crisp as he efficiently trimmed the movie run time to 2hrs 15 mins while keeping together the movie integrity. Gopi Sundar’s music is a perfect partner to the movie theme. Good production values from DVV Entertainments and Kona Filem Corporation.
Performances :
Proven yet again is the fact that, selecting the perfect stories comes naturally for the ‘Natural Star’ Nani. His performance in this movie is top notch, the climax scene definitely a career highlight. His comic timing and the emotional scenes are perfect. The female lead, Nivetha Thomas, is an asset to this movie. Her ability to portray the emotions via her eyes are plus point, something that will not go unnoticed in this movie. Aadi Pinisetty bagged a decent role with getting delegated as the ‘heroine’s husband’. Murali Sharma, Prudhvi did well in their roles as Pallavi’s family members.

‘Ninnu Kori’ most emotional film in Nani’s career: Shiva
Debutant director Shiva Nirvana says his Telugu romantic-drama “Ninnu Kori”, slated for release on Friday, will be the most emotional film in its lead actor Nanis career.
It’s been Shiva’s long time desire to work with Nani, and he has at different stages over the years envisioned a story for him.
“Even while working as an assistant director, I tried to meet him and pitch stories. Over the years, I must have planned four to five stories with him. A lot of first time directors want to work with Nani because he gives prime importance to the story over anything,” Shiva told IANS.
After a long wait when an opportunity finally arrived, Shiva floored Nani with an impressive script.
“It’s a romantic film about the emotional conflict between the lead characters. This is easily the most emotional film in Nani’s career. But it’s not a sad film. It has a great scope for comedy, but it’s not forced to make audiences laugh,” he said.
“Each character has an emotional and fun side. We have explored both the sides and that’s what makes the story easily relatable,” he added.
The film also stars Nivetha Thomas and Aadi Pinisetty.
On working with Nani, he said he has great sensibilities and is well aware of the kind of stories people like.
“He is someone who wants his stories to work. He cares about other characters in a story. After I narrated the script, he suggested that I make some changes to Aadi’s character and make it even more prominent. It’s a rare quality,” he said.
Ninnu Kori to open with 500 Premieres
