Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas now a married couple
Actress Priyanka Chopra and American singer Nick Jonas are now husband and wife as they had their Catholic wedding at the Umaid Bhawan Palace here.
According to people.com, the groom’s father, Paul Kevin Jonas Sr officiated Saturday’s Christian ceremony, where the couple exchanged wedding bands by famed jeweller Chopard.
On Sunday, the bride and groom will continue their epic wedding weekend with a Hindu ceremony.
“It is super important to Priyanka to have an Indian ceremony that honours her heritage and culture, just as it’s important to also have a Western ceremony that honours Nick’s Christian upbringing,” a source told people.com earlier this week.
Priyanka, 36, was a glowing bride in a custom made Ralph Lauren wedding gown, and Jonas, too, wore Ralph Lauren. In fact, so did both families, all of the bridesmaids, and all of the groomsmen who included Priyanka’s brother Siddharth and Nick’s three brothers, Joe, Kevin and Frankie.
Ralph Lauren is an important designer to the couple not only because he is a close friend of the actress but also because she and Nick, 26, both rocked Ralph Lauren Collection at the 2017 Met Gala, which took place one week after their unofficial first date.
Ahead of their big weekend, the couple celebrated Thanksgiving in India together. Days later, they held a puja ceremony at Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra’s house in Mumbai to spiritually celebrate the upcoming event.
Weeks beforehand, Priyanka celebrated her bachelorette party in Amsterdam and had a bridal shower in New York City.
The couple first began talking in 2016 via Twitter, and met in person for the first time at a party for the Academy Awards in 2017.

Bollywood actress and bride-to-be Priyanka Chopra, who is engaged to pop singer Nick Jonas, celebrated her bachelorette party with actress-cousin Parineeti Chopra, heiress Isha Ambani and “Game of Thrones” star Sophie Turner among many others.
Priyanka shared a string of photographs from her bachelorette party. The first post has images only of the “Mary Kom” star, dressed in a short white dress with a feathery cape.
“Featherweight Champion of the world,” she captioned it.
The second post is all about her bridesmaids, who are dressed in red.
“Red, white and Bride!” Priyanka captioned the photograph, which featured Parineeti, Turner, Natasha Pal, and billionaire heiress Isha Ambani among many others.
In the third photograph, Turner and Priyanka are seen sitting on a couch wearing sleep masks that reads — “Hungover”.
“The morning after,” the image was captioned.
Parineeti took to her own Instagram page to share a group photograph. She retained the caption “Red, white and bride” but added the hashtag, ‘PC’s bachelorette’.
Priyanka and Nick are reportedly getting married at Rajasthan’s Mehrangarh Fort in December. The two got engaged in August in a traditional Roka ceremony at her residence in Mumbai.
Nick Jonas reveals love story with Priyanka Chopra
“The story sort of wrote itself,” American singer-actor Nick Jonas said of his romance with “Quantico” star Priyanka Chopra, opening up for the first time about how they met and what led to their engagement.
The former Jonas Brothers band member told the story during an episode of “The Tonight Show” with Jimmy Fallon, reports eonline.com.
Nick and Priyanka were connected through a friend. After the initial introduction, the two texted each other but didn’t actually meet in-person until about six months later.
In May 2017, they attended the Met Gala together. While Jonas said the two “had a great time”, he also insisted they went only as friends.
“Our lives were kind of taking us in different places,” Nick, 25, told Fallon.
It was only in the subsequent few weeks that the couple spent a lot of quality time together and started to spark romance rumours. While people around them started questioning what was cooking, Nick maintained then that their relationship was just platonic.
“People thought we were being coy, and so did we until we cut to now (and) we’re engaged,” he said, adding: “So, the story sort of wrote itself.”
Nick said it wasn’t until about five months ago that the two decided to give a romantic relationship a try.
“It was kind of immediate, and I think we just knew it was right and jumped right in,” he said. “And we’re very happy.”
Nick and Priyanka, who got engaged in July, formalised their relationship with a traditional Indian ‘roka’ ceremony in Mumbai, India, last month.

Meanwhile, Priyanka, 36, shared a vacation snapshot of her own.
“Magical,” the actress wrote along with an image of the view from inside their getaway home.
Mammoth Mountain has long been a place for Jonas to escape and unwind, but it appears it is the first time he and Priyanka are there together.
In the past, he has spent Thanksgiving there and created much of his sophomore album, “Last Year Was Complicated” in the ski resort town.

Priyanka honoured for promoting social cause online
Actress Priyanka Chopra was on Wednesday honoured with a Digital Marketers Award for ‘Most Effective Use Of Digital Platforms For A Social Cause’.
The actor, who is serving as Unicef’s Global Goodwill Ambassador, reached out to Syrian refugee children who were displaced and uprooted from their homes and loved ones.
She took to social media to capture her journey and raise awareness about the life of these children who are in need of help and support.
“My association with Unicef to bring light to the issues that children face today is very important to me. Social media is a powerful tool that I can rely on to take their stories and messages across the world, especially to the younger audience,” Priyanka said in a statement.
“The idea is to involve the young ones and make them aware of the situations and problems people face in different parts of the world.”
She thanked the organisers Moneycontrol and Internet & Mobile Association of India for recognising her efforts and honouring her with the award.

Actress Priyanka Chopra has been named ‘Sexiest Asian Woman’ for the fifth time in a row. She feels flattered.
The “Quantico” star has topped a list of 50 ‘Sexiest Asian Women’, compiled by London-based weekly newspaper Eastern Eye.
Priyanka tweeted: “I should thank my mom and dad for this award…lol! It’s purely their genetics and also the immense love you guys give me every single time which has put me on top of the list 5 times over. Thank you Eastern Eye… you do know how to flatter a girl!”

NYC attack happened near Priyanka Chopra’s home
Actress Priyanka Chopra says the attack in Lower Manhattan took place just five blocks away from her house here.

Eight persons were killed and 12 injured after a truck ploughed into pedestrians in Lower Manhattan in New York on Tuesday. The suspect has been arrested.
Priyanka, who is currently shooting for the third season of the American crime drama series “Quantico” here, also paid her condolences to the victims of the tragedy.

The Indian actress, who made her way to the foreign shores as a singer first and then in the fiction space on TV with “Quantico”, took to Twitter to share her experience after hanging out with popular international personalities.
