Samantha Akkineni is currently busy in shooting her upcoming vintage love story Shaakuntalam. The first look of the actress which was revealed quite some time ago has got an overwhelming response from the viewers. Though that was not originally Samantha in the poster, but just a beautiful painting, Sam fans loved it!

Now, an interesting update has been revealed. The shoot of Shaakuntalam is happening at a brisk pace and today, the scene regarding shiva pooja is being shot. Producer Neelima Guna took to Twitter and revealed the news saying, “Monday today and coincidentally we are to shoot Shiv Pooja.”

Being directed by Gunasekhar, Shaakuntalam has Malayalam hero Dev Mohan as the male lead. The love story of Samantha (Shakuntala) and Dev Mohan (Dushyanth) is said to be depicted beautifully in the film. Mani Sharma is scoring the music. Gunasekhar earlier did the Telugu film Rudramadevi. However, the film has failed to impress the Telugu audience. We have to wait and see at least with this film, Gunasekhar will score a hit in Tollywood!

Samantha’s Shaakuntalam Launched

Samantha Akkineni is returning back to work after a long gap. The top actress signed Shaakuntalam in the direction of Gunasekhar and the film got its official launch today in a private studio. Samantha dazzled in a specially embroidered saree for the launch. Top producer Dil Raju attended the launch as a special guest. Gunasekhar’s Guna Team Works are the producers of this mythological periodic drama. The details about the cast, crew are expected to be announced very soon.

Ever since the motion poster of Samantha from her upcoming film ‘Shaakuntalam’ was released, her fans are eagerly waiting for more updates. Finally, now, we got an interesting update!

The filmmakers today introduced Dushyant, the male lead of the film (Dev Mohan) through a motion poster! He is the scion of the Puru dynasty. The motion poster is pleasant and impressive.

Directed by Guna Sekhar, Shaakuntalam has Mani Sharma’s music. Neeraja Guna is bankrolling the film on Gunaa Teamworks. Malayalam actor Dev Mohan is making his debut as a hero in Tollywood with this film.

According to the reports, Shaakuntalam is the story of the daughter of sage Viswamitra and Menaka, Shakuntala. The film shows the eternal love of Dushyantha and Shakuntala. Samantha will participate in the shoot of the film from March 20.
