    The makers of Mahesh Babu’s SPYder were earlier planning to release their film’s Tamil and Telugu audios in two separate events to be held in Chennai and Hyderabad respectively. Now, there is a big change in the plans probably because the Telugu film industry has moved on from audio functions to pre-release events.

    As per the new plan, there will be only one audio release event and it will be held in Chennai, tentatively on September 9. A Top director each from the Telugu and Tamil film industries is expected to attend this massive event. Both the Telugu and Tamil audios composed by Harris Jayaraj will be released by the two directors, who will be the chief guests of the event.

    A week later, on 16th or 17th Sep, a pre-release event is being planned at Shilpa Kala Vedika in Hyderabad. In between, makers are planning a huge media event. The entire principle cast and crew of the film will be in attendance. They will be interacting with media and share their experiences of working for this highly anticipated action entertainer.

    SPYder is on track to hit screens across the world on September 27. Murugadoss has recently revealed that the film will be released in Arabic as well, expect a massive release and earth shattering opening.

    The unit of Mahesh Babu’s SPYder which has recently gone to Romania to shoot the only remaining song, will be completing the shoot tomorrow, and will be back to India. It was a duet shot in the scenic locales of the European country on Mahesh and Rakul Preet Singh.

    Coming to the status of post-production work, first half Recording has been completed and the Sound mixing work of first half will be done by September 5. The film has a total runtime of 2:25 to 2:27 hours. Makers are planning to go for censor on 10th of next month, which is more than two weeks ahead of the scheduled release date, 27th Sep.

    Huge plans are underway for the audio launch events. A grand audio launch event, which is also being termed as the stage to officially introduce Mahesh to Tamil people, will be held on September 9. Speculations are making rounds about Rajinikanth attending as chief guest, but it is sensational director Shankar who will be doing the honors. The immediate next date, 10th Sep is tentatively reserved for unveiling the Telugu audio.

    Following the audio launches, a publicity blitzkrieg has been planned over the next two weeks, leading to the film’s release date. Mahesh will actively take part in the promotional events, especially in the ones planned to attract the attention of Tamil movie goers across the world. Rumors are in circulation that Mahesh will appear on Bigg Boss Tamil, which is being hosted by Kamal Haasan, to promote SPYder.

    Since SPYder is a Telugu-Tamil bilingual and also because it is being made with high technicalities, the film’s budget crept up to 120 crore. Now it is heard that 100+ crore is being splurged on Mahesh’s new film ‘Bharat Ane Nenu’ too.

    Right from roping in a Bollywood actress, Kiara Advani to bringing on board senior Tamil actor Sharatkumar, makers of BAN are looking at all feasible options to wider the film’s reach. The film has conducive aspects such as the lethal combo of Mahesh-Koratala, Devi Sri’s music, Ravi K Chandran’s cinematography etc. but the biggest factor that might have convinced the producer, DVV Danayya to pour in 100 crore is the Tamil market, which is expected to recover around 20 crore for all future films of Mahesh post SPYder.

    As of now, a lavish Assembly set is being erected at Annapurna Studio in Hyderabad with 2 Cr expense. The construction work is almost finished and the shoot here will commence shortly. Crucial scenes will be canned over a period of 40 days. Scenes featuring Mahesh as CM, especially the dialogues penned by writer-director Koratala Siva, are said to be the highlight of the film.

    Mahesh will join the sets soon after he comes back from Romania, where the unit of SPYder is currently filming a romantic song on him and Rakul Preet Singh.

    The makers of Mahesh Babu starrer upcoming Tamil-Telugu bilingual “Spyder” will head to Romania this week to shoot a duet, a source said.

    “The team leaves for Romania tomorrow. A duet on Mahesh and Rakul (Preet Singh) will be shot in this brief schedule. With this song, the entire shoot of the film will be wrapped up,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS on Wednesday.

    Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, the film marks his first time collaboration with Mahesh.

    The film also stars SJ Suryah as the antagonist, apart from Bharath, RJ Balaji and Priyadarshi Pullikonda.

    Unlike most bilinguals that are usually dubbed into another language, Murugadoss had said the film has been shot as a bilingual — each scene twice in both the languages.

    Mahesh Babu plays a spy in the film, slated for release on September 27.

    With just over a month left for the theatrical release of Superstar Mahesh Babu’s ‘SPYder’, makers are busy with the post-production work as well as formulating the promotional activities.

    The latest update is that Mahesh Babu commenced dubbing for SPYder yesterday. He himself is dubbing for the Tamil version as well. All Arrangements have been done for the unit to left for Romania on 25th of this month to shoot the only pending romantic song on Mahesh and Rakul Preet Singh.

    The Tamil audio launch event of SPYder is being planned to be held on a grand scale in Chennai on September 9. This function is also being projected as a platform to officially introduce Mahesh to Tamil audiences. Earlier, rumors emerged that Superstar Rajinikanth will attend the event as the chief guest but our reliable sources quashed these reports. In fact, Rajini was never approached by makers of SPYder. Sensational director Shankar is likely to attend as the chief guest of the event.

    It may be recalled that Shankar had earlier attended as the chief guest for the Telugu audio launch event of Mahesh Babu’s ‘Aagadu’ in 2014. Hope the bad omen doesn’t repeat for SPYder, which is on track for a worldwide release on September 27.

    “Penned my first Telugu song for ‘Spyder’. Big thanks to director A.R Murugadoss and Harris Jayaraj for trusting in me,” Karky tweeted.

    Directed by Murugadoss, “Spyder” marks his first time collaboration with Mahesh. It is slated to release on September 27.

    The film is a bilingual, shot in Tamil and Telugu, and also stars Rakul Preet Singh, Bharath and SJ Suryah.

    Harris Jayaraj has composed the music and the first single “Boom Boom”, released last week, has been received very well.

    Dallas, TX (August 10, 2017) – ATMUS Entertainment in association with AZ India Media have acquired the USA rights of ‘Spyder’, one of the most awaited and prestigious movies of the year.

    The recently released teaser and first single have turned out to be a smashing hit. The teaser is the biggest HIT in South Indian history, owing to its 6.3 million online views on June 1st within the first 24 hours.

    SPYder, a spy-thriller directed by AR Murugadoss, features the super star Mahesh in the role of Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer and he has apparently performed the most difficult stunts sans body double.     The overseas market for Telugu films has increased by leaps and bounds in the last few years. Producers are reaping good chunk of their overall profits from overseas distribution rights. This is the reason why big ticket producers are demanding hefty amounts from overseas buyers. But, due to the change in the payout structure, the scenario has changed drastically in the last few months. Overseas buyers are cautious about the profit margin and are not willing to shell out huge prices. This is clearly evident as Dussehra biggies are struggling to find buyers in overseas.

    As Telugu360 reported earlier, Mahesh Babu’s Spyder is yet to close its business in overseas circuit. Initially, producer quoted an exorbitant 22-25 crore range for overseas rights. As there is no response among trade circles, producer brought the price down to 16-18 Crores. Still, there are no takers for the film despite its crazy combination.

    Another big ticket slated to hit the screens for Dussehra is NTR’s Jai Lava Kusa. The film is doing phenomenal business in Telugu states, but the overseas deal is yet to be sealed. Producer quoted around 15 Crores a few months. As no buyer is interested, they are now offering the rights for 11-12 Crores range. But, no has come forward to snap the rights.

    Another Dussehra release Paisa Vasool, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead, is also struggling to close its overseas deal. Sources say that producer is quoting an expensive price and no distributor is willing to pay the quoted amount.

    With just two months left for these three releases, it remains to be seen if producers find buyers in overseas circuit.

    Even though a few earlier films of Superstar Mahesh Babu have been dubbed in Tamil, the actor’s new film ‘SPYder’ is being perceived as his first big opportunity to tap the Tamil market. Hence the makers have decided not to leave any stone unturned to promote the film in a huge way in Tamil Nadu as well as overseas where there is a sizeable proportion of Tamil population.

    Malaysia, Singapore and Dubai are the three Tamil-dominated overseas territories, where the Spyder team will travel in a special private jet to promote the film. Media will also accompany them. Interaction with media and fans will follow. Makers are not deterred by the cost involved as there is a potential market for Tamil films in the aforementioned countries. Moreover, Spyder looks to be a Hollywoodish film which can please overseas audiences.

    Plans are underway to release the film’s trailer on the eve of Mahesh’s birthday, on August 9. Spyder will have a worldwide release in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi on September 27. Post-production works are currently underway for this spy thriller being made with high technicalities.
