Will Swami Swaroopananda convince YS Jagan?

1

He was instrumental in erasing the Christian image of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. He performed a rare Rajasyamala Yagam for YS Jagan’s victory. He has been advising YS Jagan on several issues relating to religion and ritual. YS Jagan too gave utmost respect to this seer. No marks for guessing who the seer is. It is Swaroopananda Saraswati of Sri Sarada Peetham in Vizag.

The proximity of the seer to Jagan is so well known that many have dubbed him the Raja Guru. But,the latest is that Sarada Peetham seer is allegedly upset and angry with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. The reason? He is unhappy with the Jagan government’s recent decision to place the AP Brahmin Corporation under the BC welfare department. He is said to be planning to meet YS Jagan on the issue.

The seer, who was on his Chaturmasa deeksha and was out of station, has returned to his peetham recently. The matter was brought to his notice and he was very upset with this. He was also shown the related GO by the leaders of the Brahmin community. He said this was not acceptable to his peetham. He told a delegation of the Brahmin leaders that he would take up the issue with YS Jagan.

Swami is believed to have got great influence on YS Jagan. The CM met the seer at least four times after he took over as the head of the AP Government. But, will Swami be able to convince the adamant Chief Minister? Let’s wait and watch how things unfold.

Swaroopa foretells bad time for a top AP leader

4

Visakha Sarada Peetham Swamiji Swaroopananda dropped a political bombshell once again. This time, he used the Telugu Ugadi celebration time to target his political rivals. The Swamiji held a ‘panchanga sravanam’ at his ashram premises when he foretold all good things for his favourite Telugu Chief Ministers K Chandrasekhara Rao and YS Jaganmohan Reddy. At the same time, he said the planets were not favourable but yet the Telugu States would have no problems this year.

Swaroopananda further gave a lot of hope for the Jagan Reddy regime saying that there would be no financial problems of any sort for Andhra Pradesh. The State economy would see a robust growth with prosperity knocking at the doors of all sections of people. The overall AP situation would be favourable.

Swaroopa has thus foretold all good things for his political sweethearts. At the same time, he made a special mention of a top leader who would face more serious problems in this ‘Plava Nama’ year. The Vizag Swamiji has meticulously avoided naming this particular top leader. He has also not said the sort of problems that this top leader would have.

Political circles are speculating that there is no doubt that Swaroopa is referring to the TDP boss and that is obvious. Why would Swamiji avoid naming the top leader when he had mentioned the names of KCR and Jagan?

AP High Court cancels Govt memo on Swaroopa birthday

0

The High Court of Andhra Pradesh has struck down the YCP Government’s circular to various major temples to conduct special programmes to mark the birthday of Swaroopananda Swamy. Even the Visahapatnam Sarada Peetham Swamiji’s lawyer has also told the court that they have withdrawn the circular.

The Government’s order triggered massive protests from the Opposition and devotees’ organisations. The Endowments Department has asked almost all major temples from Simhachalam to Srisailam to hold programmes in honour of Swaroopananda Swami. It is well known that the Visakhapatnam Swamy was very close to Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy who made a personal visit to his ashram after winning the elections.

In many instances, the Jagan regime’s decisions and GOs are being questioned by the High Court. On issues like English medium and YCP colours to the Government buildings, serious confrontation began between the High Court and the CM. The heartburn went to the extent of CM Jagan writing a letter to the Chief Justice of India, complaining that the AP High Court judges were under influence of a sitting judge of the Supreme Court and they were passing orders against his Government.

Perhaps, this is the first instance where the High Court amicably settled the matter as Swaroopananda’s lawyer also came forward to withdraw their privilege. The issue came before the High Court following a petition by a citizen for revocation of such privileges for individuals in temples.
