Surveys in Telangana give equal chance to all parties?

0

Though KCR has categorically said that there would be no advancing of the polls in Telangana, the major political parties in the state are in no mood to take chances. All the major political parties in the state have commissioned surveys with the help of reputed opinion survey organisations. Leading the pack is the ruling TRS, which has hired the redoubtable Team PK.

The initial surveys have shown that the performance of the candidates is the top most priority for the voters. Secondly, the performance of the CM or CM candidate too influences the voting behaviour. Thirdly, the party comes to play. The surveys say that the performance of the candidate is important. Thus, 68 of the 103 TRS MLAs are second -time MLAs and hence, there is considerable anti-incumbency against them.

As a result, the TRS is likely to replace a majority of them. This is making most of the sitting MLAs restive. At the same time, the other parties like the BJP and the Congress are planning to target these 68 constituencies where there is a greater chance of their winning. The election agencies are said to be preparing different strategies for these seats.

Meanwhile, quite interestingly, all the survey agencies are giving at least 60 seats to both Congress, BJP and the TRS. The survey agencies say that as of now all the parties are equally poised to win. But, the strategies, tactics and the campaign will decide who will win or lose. The parties are said to be cross checking the survey results.

KCR’s ‘fever’: TRS calculating gains and losses

0

The ruling TRS in Telangana is now busy assessing the fallout of KCR’s abstention from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Muchintal near Shamshabad, where the giant statue of Sri Ramanuja was unveiled. The party initially felt that by his abstention, KCR would become a point of attraction and would spur a massive debate about the state-Centre relations. But, by absenting himself, it appears that he had left the floor open to Modi to dominate the proceedings.

Many in the TRS now feel that KCR should have attended the Muchintal meet. No one really felt KCR’s absence as Modi stole the show by sporting the Thirunamam, the traditional forehead mark, and wearing the silk clothes that suit the occasion. He also used the occasion to project himself as a pro-Hindu leader. Had KCR attended the programme, he too would have garnered some credit, political analysts feel.

Though the TRS tried to whip up a social media storm in support of KCR by raising the issue of poor allocations to the state, it did not succeed as the consecration of the statue was a religious and spiritual occasion and not a political occasion. Also, KCR cited fever as the reason for his skipping the programme. This gave an opportunity to the BJP that KCR developed fever as the BJP’s tallest leader was visiting Hyderabad.

There is also a buzz among the TRS rank and file that Modi might skip the Yadadri temple inauguration, which would happen in March. The party feels there would be a comparison between the Muchintal programme and the Yadadri programme and negative feedback will only harm the party.

PM hails contributions of Telugu film industry

1

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hailed the contributions of the Telugu film industry in promoting the glory of Telugu culture.

He noted that the Telugu film industry is making its presence felt globally and much beyond the Telugu speaking areas.

“This creativity is reigning on silver screen and OTT platforms. It is being praised even outside India. This dedication of Telugu speaking people towards their art and culture is an inspiration for all,” the Prime Minister said while unveiling the Statue of Equality here on Saturday.

Modi also elaborated on the richness of the Telugu culture and how it has enriched India’s diversity. He recalled the long traditions of kings and queens who were torchbearers of this rich tradition.

The Prime Minister talked about the 13th century Kakatiya Rudreshwara Ramappa temple being declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Pochampalli being recognised as India’s best tourism village by the World Tourism Organization.

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, and Union Minister for Tourism and Culture, G. Kishan Reddy, were among those present on the occasion.

Earlier, Modi unveiled the 216-feet tall Statue of Equality commemorating 11th-century Saint Ramanujacharya.

“India is giving concrete shape to India’s human energy and inspirations through this grand statue of Jagadguru Sri Ramanujacharya. This statue of Sri Ramanujacharya is a symbol of his wisdom, detachment and ideals,” he said.

The Prime Minister recalled the Indian tradition of its scholars that views knowledge above rebuttal and acceptance-rejection.

He noted that along with the pinnacle of ‘gyan’ in Sri Ramanujacharya, he was the founder of the Bhakti Marg too.

“In today’s world, when it comes to social reforms and progressivism, it is believed that reforms will take place away from the roots. But when we see Ramanujacharya ji, we realise that there is no conflict between progressiveness and antiquity. It is not necessary to go far from your roots for reforms. Rather it is necessary that we connect with our real roots, and become aware of our real power,” the Prime Minister said.

Where is equality for T’gana, asks TRS during PM’s visit

1

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a statue of equality in Hyderabad on Saturday, supporters of Telangana’s ruling party TRS posed a question ‘Where is equality for Telangana’.

When Modi was dedicating the 216-feet-high Statue of Equality to the world at Muchintal on the outskirts of Hyderabad, a demonstration held by a group of youth on Tank Bund in the heart of the city attracted the attention of all.

With aequality for Telangana’ written in bold letters, it asked several questions. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) supporters wanted to know where the rail coach factory for Telangana. The flexi also reminded the PM of the Centre’s commitments for Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) in Hyderabad. “Where is turmeric board for Telangana, where is national status for irrigation project for Telangana, where is Bayyaram Steel factor, where is IIM, where are medical colleges, where is Hyderabad Metro funds and where is NDRF funds,” it asks.

The hashtag ‘#EqualityForTelangana’ was top trend on Twitter during Modi’s six-hour visit to Hyderabad. Netizens tweeted many questions to the Prime Minister demanding as to why Telangana was ignored when it came to allocations of funds or national status to its projects.

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao did not receive Modi and also stayed away from both the programmes in the city.

TRS leaders and supporters took to Twitter to pose the question on equality to the Prime Minister.

Using the hashtag, state minister Srinivas Goud questioned when the union government could allocate national status to Karnataka’s Upper Bhadra project, why couldn’t they allocate national status to the Palamuru Rangareddy project?

“Inequality, inequality, and inequality everywhere.Very disgraceful to see educated youth fighting for equality and justice. May the Holy Saint SriRamanuja enlighten the Hon’ble PM to work towards equality and provide equal opportunities for Telangana,” wrote B. Vindo Kumar, vice chairman, Telangana State Planning Board.

Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao asked, “Sir, What does the Union Govt do with all the letters and representations given by Telangana Ministers? Very curious to know. There is no reply to our requests, at least answer this sir. #EqualityForTelangana”

Agriculture minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy in his tweet asked why the Central government does not support the agriculture and industrial sectors in Telangana.

Minister Satyavathi Rathod questioned the Prime Minister as to why the Centre was reluctant in recognising Medaram Sammakka Saralamma Jathara as a ‘national festival’.

MP Ranjit Reddy stated that whatever Telangana achieved until today was all because of the visionary leadership of CM KCR. “Why so unwilling to support a progressive State like Telangana ? I demand #EqualityForTelangana,” he tweeted.

Digital agriculture is our future: PM Modi

0

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday termed digital agriculture as India’s future and that talented youth can play a key role in empowering farmers through digital technology.

Addressing the 50th anniversary celebrations of International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) at Patancheru near here, he suggested to the institute and Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to expand their partnership for higher productivity and water management in dry land areas to digital agriculture.

The Prime Minister claimed that India has stepped up its efforts in using latest technology like Artificial Intelligence (AI) in areas like crop assessment, land records digitization, deployment of drones for spraying of insecticides and nutrients and providing various services.

“On one hand, we are focusing on expanding production of millets, chemical-free farming while on the other we are using modern technology from solar pumps to deploying drones. This is a key part of our vision for agriculture growth for the next 25 years,” he said.

Modi said the government was trying to develop ecosystems linked to agriculture research and working with private agritech players to provide affordable and high-tech services to farmers.

The Prime Minister said that agriculture has the potential to pull a very large population of the country out of poverty and take them towards a better life-style.

Stating that a large area lacking irrigation facility could not become part of the green revolution, Modi said the government was working on a dual strategy. On the one hand, a large part of the land is being brought under irrigation through water conservation and connecting of rivers while on the other, water use efficiency through micro irrigation is being encouraged in areas with limited irrigation.

The Prime Minister said India was also focusing on establishing FPOs (Farmer Producer Organisations) and agriculture value chain. “We wish to create an alert and potent market force out of small farmers by organizing them into thousands of FPOs”, he said.

He said that India’s goal is not just increasing food grain production. India has enough surplus food grain to run one of the world’s big food security programs. “We are focusing on food security as well as nutrition security. With this vision, we have developed many bio-fortified varieties in the last 7 years”.

Noting that ICRIAST has rich experience of working in semi-arid areas, the Prime Minister called for joint efforts with the institute for developing sustainable and diversified production systems by linking farmers.

Modi also mooted the idea of ICRISAT, ICAR and agricultural universities working together in the area of biofuel. “You have been working on sweet sorghum. You can develop seeds to help farmers in drought prone areas and farmers with limited land resources to grow crops which can yield more biofuel,” he said.

He exuded confidence that with innovative minds at ICRISAT, people’s participation and society’s commitment the country will be able to overcome all challenges related to agriculture

The Prime Minister also inaugurated ICRISAT’s Climate Change Research Facility on Plant Protection and ICRISAT’s Rapid Generation Advancement Facility. These two facilities are dedicated to the smallholder farmers of Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.

The Prime Minister also unveiled a specially designed logo of ICRISAT and launched a commemorative stamp issued on the occasion. Governor of Telangana Tamilisai Soundararajan, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Union Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy, ICRISAT Director General Dr Jacqueline Hughes were among those present on the occasion.

Underlining the importance of the next 25 years for both the country and also for ICRISAT, the Prime Minister stressed the need for new goals and working for them.

The Prime Minister lauded ICRISAT for its contribution in helping agriculture in large part of the world including India. He appreciated their contribution in water and soil management, improvement in crop variety, on-farm diversity and livestock integration. He also praised their holistic approach in integrating farmers with their markets and promoting pulses and chickpea production in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. “Your research and technology have helped make agriculture easy and sustainable”, Modi said.

The Prime Minister said that the worst affected by climate change are the people on the last rung of development with little resources. That is why, the Prime Minister reiterated India’s request to the world to pay special attention to the climate change. He talked of LIFE- Lifestyle for Environment; P3 – Pro planet people movements and India’s net zero target by 2070. “Pro planet people is a movement that connects every community, every individual with climate responsibility to tackle the climate challenge. This is not limited to just words, but is also reflected in the actions of the Government of India”, he added.

Referring to 15 Agro-Climatic Zones and 6 seasons of the country, the Prime Minister highlighted the depth of ancient experience of Indian agriculture. He pointed out that India’s focus is on the fusion of ‘back to basic’ and ‘march to future’ to protect its farmers from climate challenges. “Our focus is on our more than 80 per cent farmers who are small and need us the most”, the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister said that the National Mission for self-reliance in edible oils indicates India’s new approach. The Mission aims to increase palm oil area by 6.5 lakh hectares in next five years. “This will help Indian farmers at every level and will prove very beneficial for the farmers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana as well. I have been told that Telangana farmers have set big goals for palm oil production. The Centre will extend them all help,” he said.

He also dwelled on the steps taken to strengthen post-harvest infrastructure like creating cold chain storage capacity of 35 million tonnes and creation of 1 lakh crore rupees Agriculture Infrastructure Fund.

Earlier, he visited an exhibition displaying various achievements, scientific agricultural breakthroughs and innovations of the Institute since 1972 which address poverty, malnutrition and environmental degradation in the harshest dryland regions of the world.

ICRISAT is an international organisation that conducts agricultural research for development in Asia & sub-Saharan Africa. It helps farmers by providing improved crop varieties and hybrids and also helps smallholder farmers in the drylands fight climate change.

After verbal attack, KCR, Modi to come face-to-face

1

Barely days after he made the most strident attack on Modi and the Central Government, Telangana CM KCR is all set to face him and even share the state with him. It would be interesting to watch how both the leaders conduct themselves after the vituperative verbal attack of KCR. Will they keep aside their differences or will they show up even in the two programmes that they are like to be together?

Modi will be in Hyderabad on Saturday (February 5) to take part in the golden jubilee of agricultural research centre ICRISAT in Patancheru and also to unveil the giant statue of Sri Ramanuja at Muchintal near Shamshabad. Whether KCR will go to receive Modi or will he share the stage with Modi in both Patancheru and Muchintal is being eagerly watched.

Poll watchers are also eagerly watching how both the leaders conduct themselves especially after KCR made a stinging attack hurling even harsh words on the issue of budgetary allocations. He also used choicest abuses at the BJP. The buzz is that Chinna Jeeyar Swami could play mediator between the two leaders to ensure the smooth conduct of the programme.

The meeting also assumes significance especially in view of the attempts of KCR to forge a federal front with the like-minded regional parties. Interestingly, Tamil Nadu CM Stalin too is calling for a meeting of several regional parties soon to take on the centre.

Will Karimnagar witness KCR vs Bandi Sanjay battle in 2024?

1

Will Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat witness a battle royale in 2024? If sources are to be believed, KCR is now seriously planning to go to the national politics leaving Telangana to his son KTR. With both Stalin and Mamta Banerjee getting active in national politics, Telangana Chief Minister KCR too does not want to miss the bus.

Insiders say that if he forays into national level politics, he would in all probability contest from Karimnagar. In the past, he had contested and won from Karimnagar twice. Hence, he would choose Karimnagar again. If that happens, he would be pitted against BJP state president Bandi Sanjay. It would be a mega battle if it happens.

Sources say that KCR is systematically preparing ground for KTR’s anointment. He is said to be slowly but surely pushing seniors to the margins and is gradually promoting young faces like Balka Suman and Kaushik Reddy. He is also said to be working on the reconstitution of the 67-member state committee of the party and fill it with young faces. The district level committees have all been filled with young leaders.

What will happen in Karimnagar? Will Bandi Sanjay shift to the state assembly or will he take on KCR in the Karimnagar Lok Sabha seat? As of now, everything is hush-hush in both parties. But, the thinking heads of the party are said to be burning their mid night’s oil to prepare strategies for the showdown if and when it happens.

Why KCR is silent over bullet firing on Owaisi in UP?

0

It is known to everyone that the TRS and AIMIM are the ‘friendly parties’ in Telangana and TRS president and Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao has a special bonding with AIMIM president and MP Asaduddin Owaisi and his MLA brother Akbaruddin Owaisi.

But strangely when Asaduddin Owaisi escaped a bullet firing on him by some miscreants in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday, there was no response from KCR. Owaisi is campaigning in UP Assembly polls, where AIMIM is contesting 27 seats.

KCR was expected to strongly condemn this incident by issuing at least a press release. But it did not happen.

Only TRS working president and minister K.T.Rama Rao condemned this incident by posting a tweet on his Twitter handle.

All other TRS leaders remained calm. Why this silence from KCR? is being debated in political circles.

It is rumoured that KCR is not happy at Owaisi’s decision to contest UP Assembly polls. KCR fears that AIMIM will split Muslim votes among Congress, SP, BSP and AIMIM which will finally help BJP to win Assembly polls and retain power. UP has a considerable Muslim population and plays a decisive role in several constituencies.

KCR wants BJP to lose UP Assembly elections at any cost but Owaisi’s decision to contest elections has upset KCR and this is the reason for KCR’s silence, it is speculated.

PM to unveil ‘Statue of Equality’ in Hyderabad on Feb 5

0

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate to the nation the ‘Statue of Equality’ on the outskirts of Hyderabad on February 5.

The 216-feet tall ‘Statue of Equality’ commemorates the 11th century Bhakti Saint Sri Ramanujacharya, who promoted the idea of equality in all aspects of living including faith, caste and creed.

The statue has come up at Sri Ramanujacharya Ashram at Mucchintal in Rangareddy district on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

The statue is made of ‘panchaloha’, a combination of five metals: gold, silver, copper, brass, and zinc and is among one of the tallest metallic statues in a sitting position, in the world.

It is mounted on a 54-feet high base building, named ‘Bhadra Vedi’, has floors devoted to a Vedic digital library and research centre, ancient Indian texts, a theatre, an educational gallery detailing many works of Sri Ramanujacharya. The statue has been conceptualised by Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swami of Sri Ramanujacharya Ashram.

During the programme, 3D Presentation Mapping on the life journey and teachings of Sri Ramanujacharya will also be showcased. The Prime Minister will also visit the identical recreations of 108 Divya Desams (ornately carved temples) that surround the statue.

Sri Ramanujacharya worked tirelessly for the upliftment of people with the spirit of every human being equal regardless of nationality, gender, race, caste or creed.

The inauguration of the ‘Statue of Equality’ is a part of the 12-day Sri Ramanuja Sahasrabdi Samaroham, the ongoing 1000th birth anniversary celebrations of Sri Ramanujacharya.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday visited the ashram and participated in the samaroham. Speaking on the occasion, he said that the statue gives a message of equal respect to all human beings. “Great Ramanujacharya’s preaching was we are all the santan of God. God loves everybody equally. All should be loved equally, treated equally and respected equally,” he said.

Before dedicating the statue to the nation on Saturday, the Prime Minister will visit the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT) campus at Patancheru near Hyderabad and launch the 50th anniversary celebrations of ICRISAT.

Modi will also inaugurate ICRISAT’s Climate Change Research Facility on Plant Protection and ICRISAT’s Rapid Generation Advancement Facility. These two facilities are dedicated to the smallholder farmers of Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.

KCR will not do a Mamata, to welcome Modi in Hyd!

0

When there was a face-off between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee ahead of West Bengal elections in 2021, Mamata boycotted Modi’s visit to her state.

As per protocol, the CM of a state should receive and welcome PM at the airport and CM should accompany PM all through his visit.

But Mamata neither received Modi or welcomed him at the airport or participated in his programmes.

Now, TRS chief and Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao is engaged in a political tussle with BJP and PM Modi.

Just three days ago, KCR held a press conference at Pragathi Bhavan to react on Union Budget where he badmouthed Modi and BJP.

KCR used abusive words and unparliamentary language against Modi and even called upon people across the country to throw Modi government at the Centre in Bay of Bengal.

PM Modi is now visiting Telangana on February 5 to unveil “Statue of Equality” at Chinna Jeeyar Swamy ashram in Munchintal, Hyderabad an take part in ICRISAT programmes.

But KCR has decided to receive and welcome Modi at the airport and will also accompany Modi in Hyderabad in all the programmes. KCR will also give a send-off to Modi at Begumpet airport.

Tollywood drugs case: Telangana directed to share details with ED

0

The 2017 drugs case allegedly involving some Tollywood personalities took a new turn on Wednesday with the Telangana High Court directing the state government to share all the documents and details related to the case with the Enforcement Directorate.

It asked the government to provide all the details within 15 days after receiving a request from the ED.

The court also directed the state authorities to provide call data of the suspects to the central agency within a month. It told the ED that it can come back to the court if it did not get all the details relating to the case.

The directions were given by the court while hearing a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed in 2017 by then MLA and now Congress MP Revanth Reddy, seeking direction to the state government to entrust the investigation to the Narcotics Control Bureau, the ED, the CBI or other central agencies.

The ED had questioned 12 Tollywood personalities in September last year as part of a money-laundering probe in connection with the case. Actors Rakul Preet Singh, Rana Daggubati, Charmee Kaur, Ravi Teja, Nandu, Navdeep and director Puri Jagannadh were among those who were questioned by the ED based on the chargesheets filed by Telangana Excise Department’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) against drug trafficker Calvin Mascarenhas.

The SIT had questioned the Tollywood personalities in the case in 2017 but found no evidence against them.

During the hearing on Revanth Reddy’s PIL, his counsel submitted to the court that in the case involving high-profile persons, the state government did not cooperate with the ED.

ED Joint Director Abhishek Goyal also told the court that ED was not provided documents and details relating to the court. However, the state government’s counsel claimed that all the details were given to the ED.

After hearing arguments from both sides, the court directed the government to provide copies of FIRs, investigation reports, and all other related documents to the ED.

The court, however, said there was no need to order a probe by the CBI or any other agency.

The drugs racket was busted on July 2, 2017 when customs officials arrested Mascarenhas, a musician, and two others and seized drugs, valued at Rs 30 lakh, from their possession.

They had reportedly told the investigators that they are supplying drugs to film celebrities, software engineers, and even students of some corporate schools. Mobile numbers of some Tollywood celebrities were allegedly found in their contact lists.

A total of 12 cases were registered in connection with the drugs racket. Thirty people were arrested while 62 individuals including 11 people connected with Tollywood were examined by the SIT under section 67 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and section 161 of Criminal Procedure Code.

An American, a South African and a Dutch national were among those arrested.

The SIT had collected blood, hair, nail and other samples from some of those who appeared before it for questioning and sent them for analysis. It filed charge sheets in eight out of 12 cases. It, however, gave clean chit to the film personalities who were questioned as part of the investigation.

Why have all TRS MLAs gone back to their constituencies?

0

Where are most TRS MLAs these days? They are not seen hanging around in Hyderabad. They are not seen doing rounds of the TV channels. They are not even visiting the party headquarters in Telangana Bhavan. A maximum number of TRS MLAs these days are spending time in their respective constituencies and are said to be working hard to reach out to the voters.

The reason? Fear of Team PK. Yes. The members of the team of poll wizard Prashant Kishor have reportedly fanned out into the interiors of Telangana to know the people’s pulse. The survey teams are assessing the performance of the MLA and are trying to understand the public perception of the MLA. Interestingly, the teams are working in great secrecy and the MLAs with all their network in the constituency are unable to identify them. This has only increased the worry for the MLAs.

KCR has dropped enough hints that tickets would be given for the 2023 elections on the basis of Team PK’s performance evaluation report. As a result, most of the TRS MLAs have now gone back to their constituencies and are trying to rebuild links there. They are trying to reach out to the voters through various programmes. They are attending even small weddings and birthday celebrations to build a connect with the locals.

Sources say that Team PK will advise KCR on three issues: It would advise the TRS on national politics and the alliances it could make. It would advise about the strategies to be adopted in Telangana. Thirdly, they would advise about the right candidates for the 119 constituencies in Telangana. The team has already begun working on the field, say sources.

Turmeric trouble for Dharmapuri Aravind

0

His political foray was sensational. He refused to toe his illustrious father’s political line and joined the BJP. He contested the Nizamabad MP seat and emerged a giant killer by trouncing Chief Minister KCR’s daughter Kavitha. Later, he carved a niche for himself with his acerbic comments and aggressive actions. But, all these seem to be coming to a naught for BJP leader and Nizamabad MP Dharmapuri Aravind.

These days, he is finding himself on a sticky wicket in his own constituency, His biggest promise during the 2019 elections appears to have become his toughest problem. He promised to get the Turmeric Board set up in Nizamabad. However, he has completely failed in turning this assurance into reality. The turmeric farmers are upset and angry with him. They are determined to defeat him in the next elections.

Realising this, Dharmapuri Aravind is planning to shift from the Lok Sabha to the assembly. He is planning to contest from Armoor constituency. He has already begun the groundwork for the 2023 elections. However, political analysts say that Armoor may not be a cakewalk for him since Armoor is home to a large number of turmeric farmers.

Analysts say that incumbent TRS MLA Jeevan Reddy is locally quite powerful. He has deep connections with almost every village in the constituency. So, fighting against Jeevan Reddy would be an arduous task for Aravind. Meanwhile, several BJP leaders too are unhappy with D Aravind’s decision to contest from Armoor as it would mean the end of their political dreams.

Is Revanth’s best follower planning to leave Congress?

0

Till a few months ago, she was believed to be the close confidante of TPCC chief Revanth Reddy and was touted as the incharge for the North Telangana districts. She was among those who stood along with Revanth Reddy in his victory procession before swearing in as the TPCC chief. But, Mulug’s two-time Congress MLA Seethakka has suddenly fallen silent.

In fact, her visits to Hyderabad have come down and she is not seen in Gandhi Bhavan these days. She is largely confined to her constituency of Mulug. Her social media wing too has become inactive. Earlier, videos and images of Seethakka traversing through deep jungles to reach out the tribals were regularly uploaded. But, they have stopped now.

Even on the issue of arrangements for the biennial tribal fair of Medaram, Seethakka is not raising her voice. She is reportedly not raising any questions over the contract works. During the last Medaram Jatara, she was very vociferous in highlighting corruption and fund misappropriation. But, this time, she is keeping largely to herself.

The buzz is growing that she might quit the Congress and join the TRS. Her proximity with TRS leader and minister Satyavathy Rathod too is being viewed with suspicion. Insiders say that she is unhappy with the way Revanth Reddy is running the party. As of now, she has not responded to these rumours. Let’s wait and see how things pan out.

KCR Govt ‘encroaches’ Telangana journalists land!

0

It’s been nearly eight years since TRS came to power in Telangana in 2014. TRS president and Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao made several tall promises to journalists in the last eight years that his government will allot house sites to journalists in Telangana saying that without the support of journalists there was no Telangana movement or no Telangana state.

His son K.T.Rama Rao also promised in several journalist unions meetings that it’s his responsibility to ensure house sites for journalists during the last eight years.

Now, Telangana journalists are shocked to see the KCR government encroaching housing society land allotted to journalists in Hyderabad in 2008 by then AP CM YS Rajashekar Reddy.

YSR allotted 70 acres of land to journalists in 2008 in two parcels, each parcel of an extent of nearly 35 acres each. While one land parcel is located in Nizampet, the other one is in Pet Basheerabad in Kompally.

Both are now prime properties. However, these land parcels could not be developed or plots were allotted to journalists since 2008 due to pending case in Supreme Court after a few persons filed petitions challenging sanctioning of house sites to journalists.

Now KCR government has eyed these vacant land parcels. Secretly, it issued orders sanctioning Pet Basheerbad land to build IT Towers.

Ironically, it is KTR who is going to lay foundation for IT Towers at this site next week.

This news came as a big shock to journalists who are already angry at TRS government for not taking measures to resolve pending case in Supreme Court for last eight years.

They are unable to digest the fact how KCR secretly allotted their land to IT Towers and how his son KTR is laying foundation ignoring their repeated promises made earlier to journalists over allotment of house sites.

Journalists are even shocked to know that KCR and KTR anyway did not sanction any house sites for journalists during the last eight years but they are now eyeing the journalists land that was allotted by previous CM YSR.

Journalists are questioning how can government allot land on which a case in pending in the Supreme Court to others to build IT Towers. They question is it not encroachment of land by the government.

Not ‘early polls’ but ‘early candidates’ for TRS in Assembly polls!

0

Although TRS president and Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao is repeatedly stating that there is no question of holding early Assembly polls in Telangana by dissolving the Legislative Assembly as was done in 2018, no one is believing his words. This is because KCR is known to do exactly the opposite to what he tells.

KCR dissolved Legislative Assembly in September 2018, eight months in advance, and forced early Assembly polls in Telangana in December 2018, while the original schedule was May 2019.

With this, speculations are rife in political circles that KCR will dissolve Legislative Assembly again in September this year to enable early polls in December this year along with Gujarat Assembly polls.

When media personnel questioned KCR about early polls during his press conference at Pragathi Bhavan, he ruled out such possibility saying that Assembly polls will be held as scheduled in December 2023.

But KCR made an interesting statement saying that this time he wants to declare TRS candidates for Assembly polls early and not in favour of early Assembly polls.

KCR said he wants to declare TRS candidates in June 2023 itself, six months before December 2023 Assembly polls.

The logic behind this is that KCR is confident of retaining power for thired term if candidates are declared six months in advance.

KCR revealed his internal survey reports which indicated that TRS will win 95 to 105 seats out of total 119 seats in Assembly, if candidates are declared six months in advance.

KCR said TRS came to power in 2014 by winning 63 seats out of 119 in Assembly and later the TRS increased its tally to 88 seats in 2018 and retained power and it is going to increase its tally further to 95 to 105 seats in 2023 and retain power for third term.

India needs to rewrite its Constitution: KCR

0

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday said that India needs to rewrite its Constitution to fulfil people’s expectations and to ensure that the country progresses to its full potential.

Alleging that both the Congress and the BJP have miserably failed in addressing the basic needs of people in the last 75 years, he called for a qualitative change in the country and declared that he would contribute in whatever manner possible to bring the change.

At a marathon news conference here, the Chief Minister announced that a meeting of retired IAS, IPS, and IFS officers will be held in Hyderabad soon to discuss the new agenda for the country.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief said he would visit Mumbai in a couple of days to meet Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to discuss his plans. He also hinted at meetings with several other leaders including his West Bengal and Odisha counterparts, Mamata Banerjee and Naveen Patnaik, respectively.

KCR, as Rao is popularly known, called for uprooting the BJP government at the Centre and “throwing it into the Bay of Bengal”. “Unless it is done, this country can’t progress,” he said slamming the BJP for what he called spoiling the country by dividing people in the name of religion.

The TRS chief called on people, especially youth, to wake up to make their future bright.

“Shortly, we will start working for the country. We will tell the country how the change can be brought. It is time for the country to react and liberate itself from senseless parties and leaders.

“We need to draft a new Constitution of India. Many nations, whenever they felt the need, have rewritten their constitutions. We also need to pursue a new Constitution as 75 valuable years have gone,” he said, calling for a thorough debate on the proposal.

KCR pointed out that the Constitution has given certain powers to states, certain powers to the government of India while there are some subjects in concurrent list, “but the Congress and BJP governments have stolen powers of the states”. He said their policy is unitary which is not good and desirable for Indian democracy.

“In fact, as maturity level increases in a democracy, more powers should be delegated to states but the reverse is happening in the country,” he said

“The Centre has miserably failed in maintaining cooperative federalism. These fellows (BJP) have doubled stealing away powers of the states,” he added.

KCR termed the BJP government’s call of ‘one nation one registration’ and the move to take over powers relating to postings of IAS and IPS officers a conspiracy against the states.

During his more than two-hour-long news conference, the TRS leader repeatedly referred to Telangana’s achievements in the last seven years and projected it as a model for the entire country.

He pointed out how that country’s youngest state has ensured supply of 24 hour quality power to all sectors. “When we achieved the goal of Telangana state, we promised a glittering state in two years and we achieved this. When this could happen in Telangana, why can’t it happen all over India,” he said.

Stating that India has all the natural and human resources to become the world’s biggest economy, he said the bankruptcy in thinking of the parties and the leaders was holding India back.

Replying to a query, KCR did not agree that ensuing elections to five states are the semi-final for 2024 Lok Sabha polls. He said that the BJP may retain power in Uttar Pradesh but its tally will come down and this would be the beginning of the BJP’s defeat in 2024.

“BJP may win in UP through shameless ways. It will become arrogant and commit mistakes which will be good for the country as this will be the beginning of their defeat in 2024,” he said.

On the AIMIM contesting UP elections, KCR said there was nothing wrong in it. He feels that after the death of Ibrahim Suleman Sait of the Indian Union Muslim League, AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi was trying to become the face of Indian Muslims.

“He has no other agenda. He is our brother, our soldier, a son of Telangana. His party has already won a few seats in Bihar and Maharashtra. Let him contest what is wrong in it.”

It’s a useless and Golmaal Budget: KCR fires on Union Budget

0

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said that the Union Budget 2022-23 introduced by the Centre on Monday (today) has put SC, ST, BC, Minorities, farming community, the poor, hereditary professions, and employees to unhappiness and utter disappointment.

The Budget introduced by the BJP led government at the Centre had no direction or intent and it is a useless and purposeless Budget.

The entire Budget speech by Union Finance Minister Ms Nirmala Sitharaman is full of hollowness and nothing but a jugglery of words.

The Central government through the Budget has heaped praises on itself while putting the common man to depression and unhappiness.

The Budget, which can be called a Golmaal Budget, did not project the facts. The measures taken by the Centre in the Budget for the welfare of farm sector is nil and a big zero to the farming and agriculture sector.

The Budget has nothing to offer to the handloom sector. The Budget left bitterness among the employees and the small traders. It is unfortunate that the Budget did not change the Income tax Slabs. Both the employees and trading community are anxiously looking forward for the change in the Income Tax Slabs and the Centre had put lid on their hopes.

The Budget has clearly shown that the centre had neglected the Public health, basic infrastructure sectors.

“ All over the World during the corona Pandemic health and infrastructure sectors are being developed, our central government did not even think on those lines. And it is unfortunate. With Corona in the backdrop, no efforts were put to develop the medical and health sector in the country. It is surprising that the Centre is not bothered about the public health,” the CM said.

TRS internal surveys says first-time MLAs are a problem

0

If elections are held now, the ruling TRS in Telangana is sure that it would get a minimum of 40 assembly seats. This is the report of the surveys commissioned by the TRS using opinion survey organizations from Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. These survey agencies have pointed out that most of the first-term MLAs have fared quite poorly and they need to be given a dressing down to set things right.

The surveys conducted in December 2021 and January have reportedly revealed that despite the high profile activities of the BJP, it is the Congress which is the main opposition to the TRS. The BJP, which might improve its performance, may end up getting 10 to 14 MLA seats, the survey reportedly revealed.

Meanwhile the TRS has entered into a two-year agreement with Team Prashant Kishore and PK will assist the party with election strategy and political branding. TRS sources confirmed that the agreement has recently been signed. The TRS is also augmenting its IT cell and digital teams. A large number of teams have been recruited for the digital campaigns of the party.

The TRS is also said to be identifying leaders from both the BJP and the Congress at the booth, village and mandal level, who can be lured into the party. This will, however, happen during the election time, say highly placed sources. Till then, these leaders will act as informers for the TRS, sources said.

Why KCR, KTR are counting days for UP Assembly polls?

0

TRS is a political party that is confined to only Telangana state. The party has neither branches in any state in India nor contests in any polls in any other state in India except Telangana.

Despite this, the TRS top leadership is reportedly spending sleepless nights ever since the Election Commission of India issued an election notification last month to conduct Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

There is a buzz in TRS circles that Telangana Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao and his son K.T.Rama Rao are counting down days for March 10 every day. March 10 is the date on which UP Assembly election results will be declared.

But why is it that TRS which has no political interests in any other state except Telangana is so worried about UP, which is a northern state and nowhere related to Telangana.

Speculations are rife that the BJP top national leadership comprising of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah have decided to crack the whip against KCR and his family members on alleged huge corruption in Kaleshwaram and other irrigation projects besides Mission Bhagiratha, soon after BJP wins UP Assembly polls.

Since BJP’s top national leadership are toiling hard day and night to retain power in UP for second term in Assembly polls, they have asked BJP Telangana leadership to stay calm until UP Assembly polls are over and BJP retains power.

A victory for BJP in UP for a consecutive second term will make Modi, Shah and BJP even stronger at national level and will give them strength to act against KCR and his family members and lay special focus on Telangana to uproot the TRS government in 2023 Assembly polls.

For this reason, KCR and KTR are wishing thousands of times every day that BJP should lose UP Assembly polls and should weaken and do not dare to touch them in corruption cases.
