Congress workers attack MLA for joining TRS

0

Yellendu MLA Banothu Haripriya won the 2018 election on the Congress ticket in Khammam district Telangana. Recently, she shifted loyalty to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. Accompanied by TRS activists, she visited Govindrala village to campaign for the victory of TRS loyalists for the MPTC and ZPTC elections. There was also some local police force. Still, the Congress party activists in the village came out in large numbers and confronted the MLA. They picked up heated arguments saying that they fought very hard to get her elected. But now the MLA came to their village to ask for support to their rivals in the village.

The tensions increased as the TRS activists also gathered in good numbers and confronted the Congress members. They attacked each other with chappals and stones. The police couldn’t control the situation as the clashing groups far outnumbered them. Haripriya had no choice but to leave the village midway with the help of local police. Some activists were injured in the clash. The situation came under control a while after the MLA left the village.

Local body polls: Testing time for TRS MLAs

Hyderabad: After winning Assembly elections in December 2018, TRS MLAs are facing a challenging situation in rural Telangana ahead of local body polls. TRS supremo and Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has entrusted the task of securing all the ZPTC and MPTC seats to MLAs. This has further enhanced the pressure on them.

“Though ministers, MLAs, MPs, MLCs and senior leaders are recommending their family members or relatives for fielding as ZPTC or MPTC candidates, the final selection will be done by the party high command only. Moreover, the responsibility of securing all the local body seats has further intensified the pressure on us. It also involves lot of money spending as well. Adding to this, the possible survey on performance of each MLA during the local body elections will further mount pressure on us,” said a TRS MLA on a condition of anonymity.

Elections for 197 ZPTC and 2,166 MPTC are scheduled in three phases on May 6, 10 and 14, and results will be announced on May 27.

Over 1.56 crore voters will be taking part in the elections for Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTCs) and Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTCs).

The ruling part MLAs are under pressure to get party candidates in ZPTC and MPTC seats falling under their Assembly constituency. Moreover, selection of candidates has become a tough task as over 10 leaders are competing for one seat. Caste, loyalty and local strength are main factors for selecting a right candidate, said a senior TRS leader.

With 13 MLAs from Congress defecting to TRS, competition for ZPTC and MPTC seats is very high across the state. TRS high command is keen on choosing winning horses as it doesn’t want to leave any scope for the Congress, BJP and other political parties.

Professor Nageshwar – Why TRS plans to merge Congress in it?

0

The ruling TRS is on a hectic plan to lure as many as Congress MLAs to its fold so that the grand old party loses its existence in the state legislature. In 2018 Assembly elections, the Congress won 19 seats. Among whom 12 have already shifted their loyalties to the ruling party. In its first innings too, the TRS executed Operation Aakarsh and poached several of the opposition MLAs. The chief Minister KCR had a justification for this politics of encouraging defections. According to KCR, the opposition was hatching out a conspiracy to destabilise his government in a bid to prove that Telangana experiment was a failure. The TRS won 63 out of 119 seats. The smaller margin for TRS gave credence to KCR claims. Congress has a history of undertaking such operations to weaken its political rivals. But, in the elections held after premature dissolution of the state assembly, the TRS won 88 seats and two independents joining the party took the tally to 90. Still, the TRS continues with its policy of encouraging defections from opposition parties. The two TDP MLAs are in TRS fold. The TDP lost its hopes in Telangana as the party is seen as Andhra origin party. With the TDP leaders losing the confidence of revival in Telangana, they have a reason to defect. But, the Congress MLAs who won the mandate primarily opposing the TRS regime are joining the party claiming that they want to strengthen the hands of KCR who is developing the state. The fact remains is that the ruling TRS is luring opposition MLAs in a bid to stifle the dissent.

Chief minister KCR has a special plan designed at Congress. The TRS has already lured 12 Congress MLAs. It hopes to get the support of one more MLA so that the two-thirds of Congress legislature party would merge with TRS to avert the action under the anti-defection law. The TRS played the same trick in the Legislative Council with both the Congress and the TDP legislature parties merging with TRS. Judiciary has to pronounce its verdict on the legality of such a merger exploiting the provisions of the anti-defection law. But, the political intent in these machinations is very clear. The TRS has already succeeded in stripping the Congress its status of the main opposition party. The Congress needs at least 10 per cent of the strength of the legislature in this case 12 to retain the opposition party status. The party has already lost it. Now, the TRS intends to unveil the MIM as the opposition party with the highest number of MLAs. The MIM has seven members in the house. If the Congress loses its 13th legislator, the party would only have six MLAs lagging behind MIM. Thus, a friendly party assumes the role of the main opposition party.

With this, the Congress would not just lose the main opposition party status, it would also demoralise the party and incapacitate it from launching any agitations in the next four to five years. The TDP is decimated from the state. The YSR Congress which won an MP and three MLA seats in 2014 has withdrawn from Telangana politics and is most unlikely to return given its interests in Andhra Pradesh. Even if it comes back it would be playing a role of further weakening the Congress vote base. The YSR Congress and TRS enjoy comradely relationship. KCR may even bring in YSR Congress to further weaken the Congress. The social base of YSR Congress and the Congress remain the same and any presence of Jagan’s party would only harm the interests of Congress.

The BJP’s tally has come down from five in the last assembly to only one. The CPI and the CPI(M) fail to get any representation in the state legislature. The BJP’s national leadership do not yet consider KCR as a foe given the coalition compulsions at the centre making the saffron party fight for proper political space in the state.
Meanwhile, the Congress moved High Court on the plans contemplated by the TRS. But, the Telangana High Court refused to take up urgent hearing on the Congress petition.

Jolt to TRS: CLP merger not now

Hyderabad: At a time when TRS is about to merge Congress Legislature Party (CLP) with it, the High Court (HC) gave a jolt to the ruling party. Telangana High Court has further stated that the defected MLAs will have to face the law if their act is subject to violation of law. Telangana HC has refused accept urgent hearing on the petition filed by TPCC and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, who requested the HC to order Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy not to act on CLP merger.

Congress party won 19 Assembly seats and 11 already announced their decision to join TRS and two more MLAs are in line. With 13 of 19 MLAs defecting to TRS, the two-thirds strength of Congress enables the defectors to merge CLP with TRS as per the law.

Expressing concerns over the ‘Operation Akarsh,’ the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief Uttamkumar Reddy and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka filed a petition in Telagnana HC and requested it to act against such Operation Akarsh.

The Division Bench comprising acting Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and Justice a Rajasekher Reddy will take up the hearing on the csse on June 11, 2019. The Bench has further stated that MLAs, who changed their loyalties to other political parties, will have to face the legal action if their act is subject to any violation of law till the Bench takes a decision on the CLP merger.

Telangana Congress moves HC to stall CLP’s merger with TRS

0

Opposition Congress leaders in Telangana have approached the High Court, seeking direction to the State Assembly Speaker not to merge Congress Legislature Party (CLP) with the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).

Amid reports that 11 MLAs who defected to TRS mulling to request Speaker P. Srinivas Reddy to merge CLP with TRS, State Congress chief Uttam Kumar Reddy and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday filed a petition in the High Court.

They sought direction to the Speaker not to issue any orders for CLP’s merger with the TRS till their petitions for disqualification of defectors were disposed of. They also urged the court to direct the Speaker to issue a notice to them before merging CLP with the ruling party.

Eleven Congress MLAs have quit the party and joined TRS during last two months. Congress has already submitted petitions to the Speaker to disqualify them.

In the Assembly elections held in December, Congress had won 19 seats in 119-member Assembly.

As the two-third MLAs of Congress have crossed over to TRS, there has been speculation for the last few days that they may request the Speaker to merge CLP with the legislature party of TRS. In the event of the merger, Congress will lose the status of main opposition party in the Assembly.

Uttam Kumar Reddy had written to Speaker on Sunday urging him to inform the Congress about any request for merger of defected Congress MLAs with the TRS. He also claimed that the Speaker was not competent enough to merge the legislature wing of a party with other party.

TRS celebrates 18th foundation day on subdued note

0

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) on Saturday celebrated its 18th foundation day on a subdued note in view of the model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections.

TRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao led the celebrations by hoisting party flag at the Telangana Bhavan, party headquarters here. Ministers, legislators and other senior party leaders participated in celebrations across the state.

Rama Rao had appealed party functionaries to organise celebrations in a simple manner in view of the EC code of conduct. There was no fanfare and celebrations were confined to hoisting party flag at the party offices.

Speaking at the TRS headquarters, Rama Rao exuded confidence that the TRS would win all 16 Lok Sabha seats. The party had left Hyderabad for its ally, the All India Majlis-e-Itthedaul Muslimeen (AIMIM).

KTR, as the TRS leader is popularly known, urged leaders to ensure the party’s victory in the ongoing local body elections. KTR, son of Telangana Chief Minister and TRS president K. Chandrashekhar Rao, claimed that in the last 18 years the TRS had become unassailable political force.

He recalled on this day in 2001, KCR had resigned as the Deputy Speaker and quit the Assembly and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to float the TRS with the goal to achieve statehood for Telangana.

“He had told people if he betrayed them by giving up the movement, they could stone him to death. That was his conviction and commitment to the cause,” the TRS leader said.

KTR said the party had seen many ups and downs, but under KCR’s leadership and hard work of 13 years it succeeded in achieving Telangana state.

After achieving the goal of Telangana state, the party embarked on a mission to turn it into a golden state with the twin strategy of welfare and development, he said.

In the recent elections, the people once again gave a massive mandate to the TRS as they believe this party alone could take Telangana ahead on the path of progress, he added.

KCR eyes 2 Cabinet berths at Centre

0

Hyderabad: With an objective of making TRS known across the nation, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) supremo may opt for two Cabinet berths at the Centre regardless of party or alliance that forms the next government. By sharing power with the central government can only ensure the way for TRS to make its presence felt across the country. In case hung Lok Sabha happens to be a reality, then TRS will be in a more comfortable position to get the things done for the state. If everything goes well with TRS plan, the chances are brighter for Kalvakuntla Kavitha and B Vinodkumar to become Cabinet ministers. In addition to this, TRS may also take two ministries of state (MoS).

TRS is already known political entity for its great achievement of Telangana statehood, but our chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao wants to make political ideally of the party impact the nation’s development in a more positive way, said a senior TRS leader.

TRS has set a Target-16 in the just-concluded Lok Sabha elections leaving one Hyderabad MP seat to its friendly party AIMIM. The pink party won 11 MP seats in 2014 elections. Despite having 11 MPs, KCR feels that TRS couldn’t make the impact at the national level the way he wanted. Now, by winning 16 MP seats and taking part in the central government, KCR wants to make entire India feel his political ideology and plans for economic development. For instance, KCR always raises voice over the wastage of 70,000 TMC of water in the country. If all the rivers are interlinked and use properly, India will not face water scarcity. Like this, KCR has several plans for the welfare of all sections of the society and development of the nation,” maintained the leader.

As part of the coalition governments, several regional parties smaller than TRS enjoyed the power at the Centre during the regimes of UPA and NDA governments.

BJP raises doubts – Kavita election in Nizamabad

0

About 15 per cent polling was reported in the last hour in Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency. CM KCR’s daughter Kavita is contesting from there. BJP candidate Darmapuri Aravind raised doubts over the last minute high polling percentage. He took the issue to the Election Commission.

There are also complaints that the unused EVMs were not immediately set aside after the polling which is giving rise to further doubts. The allegations by the BJP have assumed significance in the wake of complaints that 25 lakh voters’ names were deleted from the lists in 2018 assembly election in Telangana.

The BJP local leaders are unhappy over KCR family taking undue political advantage during election. They have also taken this to their national leadership. The Nizamabad incident has raised lot of curiosity in political circles.

BJP demands restoration of 34% for BCs in ZPTC, MPTC polls

0

Hyderabad: BJP-T has demanded the TRS government to implement 34 per cent reservation for backward classes (BCs) in the forthcoming ZPTC and MPTC elections in Telangana, while stressing the need for direct election Zilla Parishad chairman and Mandal Parishad president.

“Telangana unit of BJP is demanding the TRS government to restore 34 per cent BC reservation in Zilla Parishad and Mandal elections.

BJP Telangana unit president Dr K Laxman along with other senior leaders has submitted a memorandum to the Governor ESL Narasimhan and requested him to ensure 34 per cent BC reservation in the Zilla parishad and mandal elections. The BJP has further asked the Governor to direct State Election Commission (SEC) to hold election after the Lok Sabha election results so that political parties can focus on the local body elections.

The SEC has already finalized the schedule for ZPTC and MPTC elections for 32 Zilla Parishads, 535 ZPTCs, 535 MPPs and 5,857 MPTCs in three phases on May 6, 10 and 14 in Telangana.

The TRS government has slashed BC quote in local body reservations from 34 per cent to 22 per cent. This cut in reservation would trim the number of Sarpanch posts by 1,400 and 18,000 ward member positions for BCs, who are estimated to be about two crore in Telangana population.

It was KCR’s silent campaign for Federal Front: KTR

0

Hyderabad: Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has been doing a quiet campaign to garner support to his dream mission ‘Federal Front,’ said TRS working president KT Rama Rao.

“KCR is not directly campaigning for any regional party. However, is interacting with heads of all the regional parties from time to time. KCR is sharing his ideas and strategies with the regional parties. Everything he does for making Federal Front a reality for the development of the nation,” said KTR, while ruling out the speculation over why KCR is silent on Federal Front.

The political campaign can be several modes and KCR does his own style of campaign depending upon the situation, maintained KTR.

The TRS working president further stated that Congress and BJP would lose deposits in several Lok Sabha constituencies as people are fed up with stereotype politics of both the national parties.

By sweeping 16 Lok Sabha seats, TRS would play a vital role at the Centre, KTR exerted confidence, while predicting a third place for Congress in five MP seats and lose deposits in four seats in Telangana.

TRS has requested the Election Commission of India (ECI) to conduct ZPTC and MPTC elections before May 23.

“If local body elections are completed in May, then Telangana will have finished all types of elections so that the TRS government can focus only on development for next four-and-half-years without bothering about politics. The TRS government is also working on a new Municipal Act to curb corruption in the government mechanism,” remarked KTR.

Now, TRS eyes BJP, Congress cadres

0

Hyderabad: After weakening TDP in Telangana, TRS is reportedly eyeing Congress and BJP cadres. The pink party has started wooing other party cadres right from village level with an eye on sweeping ZPTC/MPTC elections. According to a latest plan of action, TRS will attract several leaders from villages, towns and district headquarters into its fold just ahead of ZPTC and MPTC elections as the pink party aims to sweep local body elections as well.

TRS won 88 MLA seats in 119 Assembly segments in December 2018 and is confident of bagging 16 MP seats in 17 Lok Sabha constituencies. TRS party wants to repeat the same in the forthcoming ZPTC and MPTC elections as well. For achieving this target, TRS wants to take party cadres of BJP and Congress in the villages into its fold.

TRS supremo and Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has already directed party MLAs, MLCs, ministers, MPs and other senior leaders to implement ‘Operation Akarsh’ to get all the village-level influential leaders and party workers into the pink party.

TRS is keen on grabbing ground level party network of BJP more particularly in Gajwel, Siddipet, Dubbaka and Nizamabad segments. TRS party is offering several nominated positions and key positions in the party cadres to woo the leaders and party workers from Congress and BJP. The pink party is taking advantage of the lack of coordination within Congress party and losing grip of senior leaders. Congress party also lack leaders who can influence at state level.

Election Commission serves notice to KCR

0

The Election Commission has served notice to Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao for violating the Model Code of Conduct for making “derogatory” remarks against Hindus in his speech at an election rally.

The poll panel, which received a complaint from Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), has found that Rao’s remarks had the “potential to disturb harmony and aggravate the existing differences between social and religious communities”.

The panel in its notice said it was prima facie of the opinion that by making the statement and appealing to communal feelings, Rao violated the Model Code of Conduct.

It asked the Telenagana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief to submit an explanation on or before April 12.

KCR, as Rao is popularly known, made the remarks during an election rally at Karimnagar on March 17.

VHP state chief M. Rama Raju had lodged a complaint against KCR with the Chief Electoral Officer the next day.

Nizamabad to create history with 12 EVMs in each booth

0

Nizamabad Lok Sabha constituency in Telangana is all set to create history in India’s parliamentary elections with polling to be conducted with 12 big-sized EVMs in every polling booth as the voters have to choose from a whopping 185 candidates.

Nizamabad, going to polls along with 16 other Lok Sabha seats on April 11, will become the first constituency in the country to see polling with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) for such a large number of candidates.

With a record number of candidates, including 178 farmers who entered the fray to highlight the demand for remunerative prices for their produce, it was thought the Election Commission (EC) will go for ballot papers as an EVM can accommodate a maximum of 64 names.

The poll panel, however, decided against the use of ballot paper and ordered Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) to supply 26,820 EVMs, 2,240 control units and 2,600 Voter-Verified Paper Audit Trails (VVPAT) of M3 make.

With just three days left, election authorities and engineers are racing against time to make fool-proof arrangements.

Each polling station will have 12 M3 version EVMs, all connected to a single control unit and a VVPAT. These EVMS will be arranged in ‘L’ shape with each machine carrying a maximum of 16 names.

Officials said arrangements would be made for smooth conduct of polling in all 1,778 polling stations and they have set up a model polling station in the town to create awareness among voters about the polling system.

At every polling station, the officials will install flexi board with the serial numbers, names, photographs and symbols of the candidate to enable the voters to easily locate their choice.

Engineers of ECIL and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) were busy checking the EVMs and conducting mock-polling.

One flexi board with candidates’ names and photographs was already displayed in front of the Collector’s office.

Nizamabad District Collector, M. Ram Mohan Rao, who is the Returning Officer of the constituency, said the polling personnel were trained, keeping in view the special requirements.

However, EVMs alone are not likely to solve the problem in conducting the polls as the farmers, contesting as independents, complained that they were yet to be allotted the symbols.

They urged Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Rajat Kumar to postpone the polling as it would take few days for them to popularize these symbols among voters.

The CEO said he would convey their demand to the EC, which would take final decision on the matter.

Some farmers have also approached the High Court seeking to postpone the polls to enable them to campaign and educate people about their respective symbols. Their petition is likely to come up for hearing on Monday.

The authorities are allotting a record 186 symbols including a symbol for None Of The Above (NOTA) option.

The contesting farmers argue that the polling process can’t be completed smoothly as it would take 4-5 minutes for every voter to locate the symbol of the candidate of his choice and press the button.

The constituency, with over 15 lakh voters, attracted national attention with over 200 candidates filing nominations. Majority of them were turmeric and red sorghum farmers, who wanted to register their protest over the failure of the state and Central government to ensure them higher remunerative prices and address other issues.

After scrutiny and withdrawal of nominations, 185 candidates remained in fray.

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter K. Kavitha is seeking re-election from the constituency. Congress party’s Madhu Yashki Goud and BJP’s D. Arvind are the other major contestants.

KCR master plan – Reunification slogan to improve TRS prospects

0

Telangana CM Chandrasekhar Rao has no scarcity for novel techniques to save his TRS party from any crisis. In recent days ahead of the April 11 election, the TRS is facing a new threat from the pro-Telangana forces and organisations across the state. They are openly questioning the TRS failures in respect of delivery of the KCR government’s promises. The Osmania University students have once again brought up the issue of Telangana backwardness and its aspirations.

Against this backdrop, KCR began the slogan of Reunification of Telangana. This is just another name for his Operation Aakarsh to attract strong leaders and their cadres from other parties. KCR has been doing this ever since founding his party. He has successfully blackmailed many leaders under the name of Telangana agitation. A situation prevailed once that Congress and TDP leaders in Telangana were terrified to criticize KCR as he might brand them as anti-Telangana. Now, KCR is using his power as the chief minister to persuade or force or blackmail other parties leaders to join the TRS. The joining of former minister Mandava Venkateswara Rao is just one small example. The Reunification is needed badly for KCR to save his party from the rising wave of dissatisfaction among different sections especially farmers and anti-backwardness activists.

Undercurrent amity of TRS, YSRCP brewing up for long

0

The friendship between TRS and YSRCP is not the latest one but has been brewing up since 2014 elections, observe political analysts, while recalling the soft response from YS Jaganmohan Reddy when his MP and other MLAs defected to the pink party. Further, the vehicles, which are being used by YSRCP in the ongoing election campaign, were reportedly supplied by TRS as the pink party used them in the Assembly elections in December 2018. These vehicles have been modified with new painting with YSRCP flags, symbols and YS Jaganmohan Reddy picture.

A couple of months ago, YSRCP leaders in last January distributed wall clocks in Madanapalli, Chittoor district. The wall clocks bear the photo of Rajampet former MP Peddireddy Mithun Reddy and Fan symbol. If this label is removed, interestingly, the wall clocks have pics of KCR and Peddapalli MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy. The leftover wall clocks after distribution in Telangana election campaign were distributed in Madanapalli. These episodes are revealing the nexus between both the parties.

On YSRCP ticket, Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy won in Khammam Lok Sabha constituency. Payam Venkateshwarlu, Tati Venkateshwarlu and Banotu Madanlal won as MLAs. Soon after elections in 2014, Madanlal and Tati Venkateshwarlu joined TRS, Subsequently, MP Ponguleti and MLA Payam Venkateshwarlu followed the suit. Moreover, these three MLAs had submitted a letter to the Assembly Speaker stating that they’re merging their party into TRS. Reacting to this, YSRCP just gave a normal statement condemning such act. But, YSRCP never complained to Speaker and resorted to legal fight against the defection. Considering these under current soft corner for each other hold a strong view on the long-lasting friendship between the TRS and YSRCP, maintained the analysts.

TRS, Congress at loggerheads on approvals for public meetings

0

Hyderabad: At a time when political campaigning peaking, ruling TRS and Congress party are intensifying their fight to get permissions from the Police Department and the Election Commission (EC) for their public meetings, rallies and road shows.

The competition for getting such approvals is more severe than seeking votes in the Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to be held on April 11. With hardly a week to go for elections, both the parties have locked horns over this battle, said a senior Police official. Congress party is keen on organising road shows by Rahul Gandhi in Secunderabad, Nalgonda, Bhongir and Chevella Lok Sabha constituencies.

Congress party is criticising TRS for not practising democratic principles during the election campaign. The grand-old party said that it “couldn’t get permission for public meeting at Manneguda in Vikarabad for Soni Gandhi on April 8. We couldn’t get public meeting of Sonia Gandhiji. Because of Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s tour on the same day in Vikarabad. This shows mockery side of TRS party.”

Congess party couldn’t get public meeting permission for Konda Vishweshvar Reddy in Chevella. Mega star Chiranjeevi, who’s a relative of Konda family, was scheduled to participate in this public meeting. But, we couldn’t get the required approval, maintained a senior Congress leader.

On the other hand, the Police department cites the reason of law and order as they don’t want public meetings of TRS and Congress on same day in the same constituency.

Will ire of govt employees impact TRS Target-16?

0

Hyderabad: Speculation is rife over latest remarks made by Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao about possible scrapping of revenue department and what’s kind of impact will it make on the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections for TRS, which is spearheading the poll campaign with a ‘Target-16’ mission.

In a recent telephonic conversation with a farmer from Mancherial district, KCR had termed that revenue staff as most corrupt. Subsequently in a public meeting in Miryalaguda, KCR further referred to the problems of farmers pertaining to the revenue department and asked them to wait till June, by which Election Code concludes. KCR had assured farmers that he would take a revolutionary decision after June to free the farming community from the clutches of corrupt revenue employees once for all.

These hints of KCR have triggered speculation that the TRS government will scrap the revenue department. Naturally, all the employees of revenue department have turned cautious and have started expressing their concerns and criticising the TRS government. Other employees from different government departments are also expressing their solidarity for revenue staff.

Political analysts observe that this will impact the poll pattern and may reduce the TRS vote bank by at least one per cent.

Fearing possible similar treatment of KCR, other departments will definitely support the revenue staff and all the Telangana government employees would together protest against the TRS government, said an NGO leader.

Some NGO leaders also attribute the reason for such revolutionary decision by KCR to the latest debacle in MLC elections. TRS lost in three MLC seats from Teachers and Graduates constituencies.

KCR warns MLAs for not cooperating new candidates

0

Hyderabad: TRS supremo and Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has warned party MLAs and senior leaders about severe consequences if they don’t support and work for the victory of MP candidates. KCR became angry over the non-cooperation of MLAs and senior leaders and cautioned them to take responsibility for defeat if TRS loses in MP seats. Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has fielded five new candidates, who’re contesting for the first time in Lok Sabha elections.

KCR had reportedly held a review meeting on Lok Sabha elections, campaigning, present situation so far, etc. Almost all the ministers, MLAs, sitting MPs and senior leaders had been called for this review meeting.

TRS is working on Target-16 mission for the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. KCR expressed his anger over the way LB stadium public meeting organised and subsequently it was cancelled owing to lack of public. TRS had planned the public meeting considering the Secunderabad, Malkajgiri and Chevella Lok Sabha constituencies.

KCR has arrived to a conclusion that lack of coordination among local leaders and motivation were prime reasons for the flop show.

During the review meeting, KCR had cautioned the party MLAs, ministers and senior leaders to resolve the problem immediately as far as lack of coordination is concerned. KCR also made it clear that party ministers and MLAs should take responsibility of the defeat in MP seats concerned.

The chief minister also spoke to MLAs and ministers, who didn’t attend the review meeting, personally and cautioned them to take immediate remedial action. KCR has also set target of surpassing majority achieved in the Assembly elections.

Congress to file petition against 10 MLAs, who defected to TRS

0

Congress Legislature Party (CLP) will file a petition before the Assembly Speaker against its 10 MLAs, defected to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). CLP has already submitted its petition, but the Assembly secretary Narasimha Charyulu didn’t accept it as he’s not competent authority.

According to the 10th Schedule, Assembly Speaker has the power to take such petitions regarding defections, said an official. The CLP has decided to submit a petition seeking disqualification of those defected MLAs to the Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, who’s in Nizamabad.

Shocking results of MLC elections: Should TRS learn any lesson for LS elections?

0

Graduates and Teachers gave shocker to TRS party that has been on cloud 9 since it’s victory in 2018 assembly election results. Three leaders supported by TRS were defeated in this elections and this result was not predicted by any media.

Narsi Reddy has won from Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Teachers’ constituency defeating sitting MLC Poola Ravinder. Poola Ravinder was supported by TRS party. Another leader K Raghotham Reddy won from Karimnagar-Adilabad-Nizamabad-Medak teachers’ constituency by defeating former MLC Paturi Sudhakar Reddy, who was supported by TRS party. Senior Congress leader and former minister T Jeevan Reddy got elected from Karimnagar-Adilabad-Nizamabad-Medak graduates’ constituency by defeating Chandrashekhar Goud of TRS.

Students, Graduates and Employees:

There have been reports even during Telangana election that students and employees are not happy with TRS even though farmers and rural voters are very happy with his rule. But, as rural voters usually outsmart urban and educated voters most of the times, the voice of students, graduates and employees were not heard loudly during assembly elections. Students from Osmania University and other places have been raising voice against the TRS government for not being able to create sufficient new jobs during their tenure 2014-18.

People are fed up with defections:

Moreover, KCR encouraging defections into TRS despite getting thumping majority also not going well with urban and educated voters. During the earlier rule, KCR was able to justify the defections saying there is a threat to the government by opposition parties who are planning to join hands together. But encouraging defections even after getting 88 out of 119 seats is not justifiable in any way.

Seemandhra voters:

If KCR doesn’t pay heed to these voices now, he may have to pay the price in Lok Sabha elections. Even though KTR and KCR are saying they will win 15 or 16 seats in upcoming LS elections, the picture is not that rosy as revealed during MLC elections. Moreover, astounding victory in 2018 assembly elections was partially attributable to the failed experiment of TDP-Congress alliance. Especially in Hyderabad, Seemandhra voters who are not happy with CBN voted to TRS. Now TDP factor is not there and some sections of Seemandhra voters are not happy with TRS interference in AP politics. If TRS supremo continues his unilateral policies, he may get shocker from not only students, graduates and employees, but also from Seemandhra voters.

We will have to wait and see whether this anti-mood on KCR will reflect in Lok Sabha elections as well in some constituencies.
