Nani’s V opens to poor occupancy

Sai Dharam Tej’s Solo Brathuke So Better opened to decent occupancy and the film will end up as a decent box-office grosser. This turned out to be a boost for Telugu cinema and the audience are eagerly waiting up for a bunch of releases for Sankranthi. Nani’s last movie V that had a digital release got a theatrical release yesterday. The film released through the regular distributors of Dil Raju and the film opened to poor occupancy.

The footfalls did not increase even for the evening shows and the occupancy stood below 30 percent. On the other side, Solo Brathuke So Better witnessed packed houses yesterday marking the occasion of New Year. Ravi Tej’s Krack, Vijay’s Master, Ram’s RED and Bellamkonda Sreenivas’ Alludu Adhurs are the expected Sankranthi releases and are announced for release.

Mohana Krishna Indraganti directed several sensible films in his career. He is known for his class touch and quirky entertainment. For the first time he directed an action entertainer titled V. Nani and Sudheer Babu played the lead roles in this action entertainer. The film is streaming on Amazon and the response has been utterly disappointing. Mohana Krishna has been criticized for his work. V is the costliest film in Mohana Krishna’s career till date.

He is all set to direct Vijay Devarakonda in his next and the project is planned on a budget of Rs 100 crores. Dil Raju is the producer and the project is finalized even before the release of V. Now with the film receiving poor response, there are black clouds on Vijay Devarakonda’s project. Will Dil Raju go ahead with the film or will he drops his plans. Apart from this, Mohana Krishna has projects lined up with Mythri Movie Makers and Shine Screens. Naga Chaitanya is in talks for a romantic entertainer.

With V ending up as a dud, will the film’s result impact the lineup of Mohana Krishna’s upcoming films? We have to wait for some more time to know about what happens next.

Dil Raju struggled to convince Nani for V digital release

Tollywood audience were left surprised as there was not a single release from renowned movies across the digital platforms when several Bollywood biggies are lined up for a digital release. Popular producer Dil Raju was quite keen on a digital release for his next production V which completed all the formalities. But he received a jolt from the lead actor Nani. The talented actor was keen on making his comeback with V which he feels is a terrific film. Nani feels that the audience will be blown away with his performance on the large screen.

Dil Raju agreed with Nani’s argument and decided to wait for the theatrical release. But when Centre rejected permissions for theatres, Dil Raju went in touch with all his distributors. Most of them asked him to head for a digital release as the theatres would not open anytime soon. Raju was also well aware of the flock of releases that will release soon after the theatres reopen. He met Nani and explained the situations.

Though there was a heated argument, Nani stepped out with a positive nod finally and this is how the deal got closed. Raju who is a perfect businessman managed to pull a huge amount from Amazon. The film releases on Amazon Prime on September 5th.

Nani shares pic from first-day shoot of ‘V’

Telugu star Nani shared a still from the first-day shoot of his upcoming film “V”.

Nani shared the picture on Instagram. In the image, he sports a rugged beard, sunglasses and is seen smoking.

“Pic from the first day shoot of #V… Waiting for the day we will all watch it together… until then.. stay safe,” he wrote alongside the image.

“V” is an action thriller directed by Mohan Krishna Indraganti. It also features Sudheer Babu, Nivetha Thomas, Aditi Rao Hydari, Jagapathi Babu, Vennela Kishore, Nassar and Srinivas Avasarala.

“V” is Nani’s 25th film and he will be portraying a negative role for the first time. The film was slated for a March release, but has been pushed due to the outbreak of coronavirus in the country.

Nani made his debut in 2008 with the hit film “Ashta Chamma”. He was then seen in films like “Ride”, “Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu”, “Ala Modalaindi”, “Pilla Zamindar”, “Eega”, “Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu”, “Yevade Subramanyam”, “Bhale Bhale Magadivoy”, “Middle Class Abbayi” and “Jersey”.

Amazon offers a tempting price for Nani’s V?

Natural Star Nani and Sudheer Babu starrer V completed all the formalities and is waiting to hit the screens after the lockdown gets lifted. With the coronavirus issue shaking the nation, Tollywood producers are left in dilemma about the new release dates as they are not confident about how soon the audience will come to theatres to watch the films. At the same time, digital giants like Amazon are offering massive prices to release these projects before the films head for a theatrical release.

It is heard that Amazon quoted a tempting price of Rs 35 crores for the digital rights of V which is huge. But Dil Raju is left puzzled as he needs to convince Nani, Sudheer Babu and Mohan Krishna Indraganti along with his distributors to head for a digital release. Tollywood actors may not allow this move as their image would get damaged. The producers are struggling because of the lockdown and they could not take a call on the tempting offers. If the lockdown is extended, some of the Telugu producers will take a call on the direct digital release of their films.

Title Announcement: Sudheer Babu’s V

There are speculations that Nani and Sudheer Babu are teaming up for a multi-starrer and the film’s producer Dil Raju too announced things during his media interactions. An official announcement came today that the film is titled ‘V’ and Sudheer Babu, Nivetha Thomas, Aditi Rao Hydari are the lead actors. Mohana Krishna Indraganti will direct this action thriller.

The movie unit did not make any announcement about Nani’s role in the film which is kept as a surprise. The makers are expected to announce about Nani’s role later today. ‘V’ is a content driven film and Nani’s role is said to be the biggest surprise. Bollywood music composer Amit Trivedi is the music director and Sri Venkateswara Creations will bankroll the project. The film releases during Christmas 2019.
