Victory Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya starrer Venky Mama completed shoot long ago and the makers are waiting to announce the release date from some time. This created a lot of confusion among other December releases. Suresh Babu is back from USA and he is meeting all the distributors of Suresh Productions today. He will discuss about the best release date after which the final date will be locked. There are fair chances that Venky Mama may release on December 13th.

The official release date of Venky Mama will be out mostly by today evening. With the promotional content ready and Venkatesh, Naga Chaitanya available for promotions, Suresh Babu is considering December 13th for the film’s release. With a bunch of films lined up for December 20th and 25th, it would be quite good if Venky Mama releases on December 13th. If this happens, Venky Mama takes advantage of the first biggie releasing during the season.

Directed by KS Ravindra (Bobby), Venky Mama features Venkatesh, Naga Chaitanya, Rashi Khanna and Payal Rajput in the lead roles.

Producer Suresh Babu recently said that the shockingly low collections for Telugu films have become a major concern for producers, distributors, and exhibitors. He is now also facing another problem. Till a few months ago, the market for the Hindi dubbing rights of Telugu films used to be the most lucrative one. But recently, it has also been affected. The Hindi buyers are not showing interest in every film. They have also reduced the offering price.

‘Venky Mama’ is now feeling the heat. Suresh Babu expected a big amount from Hindi dubbing but the film is getting very low offers. He reportedly closed the deal recently for a 40 percent lower price. ‘Venky Mama’ is not a typical action movie. Mass and action movies fetch a big price in the Hindi market. But even such movies are also facing the crunch.

Mahesh Babu’s ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ is also suffered from the same problem. The film was sold for Rs 15 Cr, which was five crores less than what ‘Maharshi’ received.

Victory Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya are teaming up together for the first time with Venky Mama. KS Ravindra (Bobby) is the director and the film is currently in the final stages of post-production. There are month-long debates and discussions going on about the release date of the film. With the festival seasons packed completely, Venky Mama will now hit the screens on December 13th which marks the birthday of Venkatesh. Suresh Babu locked the release date finally and an official announcement will step out at the earliest.

Venky Mama is carrying decent expectations and Payal Rajput, Rashi Khanna are the leading ladies. The makers are already set for the promotions which will kick-start this month end. Thaman composed the music and the first single received a decent response. People Media Factory along with Suresh Productions bankrolled Venky Mama which is said to be made on a budget of Rs 45 crores.

The makers of ‘Venky Mama’ have released a new poster of the film, which announces the arrival of the second song from the album.

Titled ‘Yennallako’, this song is said to be a foot-tapping retro number. Venkatesh and Payal Rajput will be shaking their legs for the song.

While Venkatesh is seen in a retro look with a white suit, Payal Rajput is rising the heat with skimpy apparel. The poster is filled with retro colors, which gives an idea of the set-up and theme of this song.

‘Yennallako’ will be out this Saturday, Nov 16th. The success of the first song ‘Venky Mama’ proves the fact that Thaman is on a roll currently and that makes the second song, ‘Yennallako’ one to watch out for.

The countdown to the Pongal releases has begun. ‘Ala Vaikunthapuramlo’ that is set for January 12 release is releasing its third single this week. The other Sankranthi biggies Rajinikanth’s ‘Darbar’ and Mahesh Babu’s ‘Sarileru Neekevvaru’ are going to unveil their promotional content from next week.

The only film that is lagging in all this frenzy is Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya’s first-ever multi-starrer ‘Venky Mama’. There is no still clarity about its release date. Jokes are doing rounds in the industry that producer Suresh Babu is holding the release date as if it is a national secret.

Suresh Babu has shortlisted two dates – December 25 and January 14 but he has not picked up one date to announce it officially. December 25 would be an ideal date for this multi-starrer as there would not be much competition other than Raj Tarun’s ‘Iddari Lokame Okate’. In the Sankranthi period, the film has to compete with three big movies. Whichever be the release date, he has to announce it to end the confusion.

Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru and Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo are slated for Sankranthi 2020 release and the theatrical rights of both the films are picked up for record prices. Both these films will occupy the lion’s share of theatres across the Telugu states during the festival season. Rajinikanth’s Darbar too will release during the season but will have a limited release in AP and Telangana.

Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya starrer Venky Mama was initially slated for Dasara release but it missed the race. The film’s producer Suresh Babu has been holding talks with his distributors and exhibitors across AP and Telangana about having a Sankranthi release for the film. Suresh Babu owns a decent number of theatres in Andhra Pradesh and he collaborates with Asian Cinemas (Global Cinemas) in Nizam who own huge number of screens in the territory. If Venky Mama releases for Sankranthi, that would be a huge blow for Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo as the screen count for these biggies will come down. They should share the remaining available screens.

Venky Mama will turn a huge dent for the numbers for the Sankranthi biggies. Suresh Babu will announce the release date of Venky Mama officially in the next couple of days. Top producer Dil Raju is already holding talks to avoid the clash and to ensure a smooth release for Sarileru Neekevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. We have to wait for some more time to see what happens next.

But, the makers have deferred it’s release due to Megastar Chiranjeevi’s SyeRaa Narasimha Reddy. After missing out Dusheera, Venky Mama team considered mid November for release. However, they couldn’t risk and release it during off season. As Christmas season is jam packed with few other prominent films on track for release, Venky Mama team had no option but to move the film to Sankranthi season.

Sankranthi season is fully occupied with biggies like Sarileru Neekevvaru, Ala Vaikunthapurramloo and medium budget films like Yenthamanchivaduvura getting ready for release. Venky Mama will face heavy competition from these films during Sankranthi season and might get limited attention from audience as well. The promos and posters with ample dose of festive vibes in Venky Mama make it a perfect film for a festival season. Also, festival like Dussehra can easily accommodate two big Telugu releases. By missing out a crucial festival season, Venky Mama team ideally lost a golden opportunity to garner the attention of family audience.

Now, they will need to vie with other biggies during Sankranthi to emerge as winner at box office. Directed by Bobby, the film has Rashi khanna and Payal Rajput as female leads.
