Jagan highlights AP coast fit for investments

1

CM Jaganmohan Reddy has admitted to the lack of a big city like Bangalore and Hyderabad as a disadvantage to attract investments to Andhra. But there’s the biggest advantage of a long coastline where a variety of industries can be set up. Jagan addressed the Diplomatic Outreach event held in Vijayawada city in which diplomats of different countries participated. Jagan didn’t make any mention of the Andhra Capital City or its future potential.

The coast is the only major highlight in Jagan’s speech. During the reorganization, Andhra wad separated without a capital city of its own. The TDP came to power immediately after bifurcation and chose Amaravati as the new capital city of Andhra. But, Jagan Circar now is not giving priority to further development of Amaravati where all existing works are stopped the day Jagan assumed office.

Investors and industrialists naturally ask for nearest cities, airports, etc. When Sri City SEZ was established in Tada area in Tamil Nadu border, it has the advantage of having Chennai International Airport nearby. But AP central coast will not have that advantage. If Amaravati and Vijayawada are not developed in a big way, it is not easy to attract major industries to Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and West Godavari districts.

‘Diplomatic Outreach’ challenges before Jagan Circar?

0

There is lot of curiosity in political and industry circles over Jagan Circar’s efforts to attract investors and industrialists to set up companies in Andhra Pradesh. What aspects of Andhra will CM Jagan highlight during his presentation at the coming Diplomatic Outreach event? Businessmen and MNCs look for ease of doing business and industry-friendly atmosphere to make their investments in any state.

Reports say that the Jagan Government is making a presentation on ‘Navaratnalu’ programme to the industrialists coming to attend the summit. This is throwing up a big challenge for the industry bodies in AP. Navaratnalu is all about huge Cash Transfer welfare schemes in which the future investors will not be interested much.

Moreover, there is the big hurdle in the name of 75 per cent jobs for locals in industries. This has already created negative mood leading to some existing industrialists trying to relocate to other states. More importantly, CM Jagan is shy of talking favourably about achievements in industry as he has not even mentioned a word about launch of first car from Kia Motors in Anantapur district. The Outreach event is described as one to attract investments in pharmaceuticals, automobile, electronics, medical and other sectors. Analysts say that serious planning is required on the part of Jagan Circar if it wants to get good results like in case of Partnership Summit held by Chandrababu regime.

Andhra CM makes aerial survey of flood-hit areas

0

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday conducted an aerial survey of flood-affected areas of East Godavari district and announced special aid of Rs 5,000 each to the families whose homes were submerged.

After the aerial survey, Reddy held a review meeting with ministers and officials concerned in Rajahmundry. He directed the officials to take relief and rehabilitation measures on a war-footing.

Reddy also announced that in areas where the standing crops were washed away, seeds would be distributed free of cost along with the special aid. In the low-lying areas of Polavaram as well the special aid will be paid along with free supply of seeds.

The Chief Minister enquired about the situation in Devipatnam and other areas lying on the upper side of Dowaleswaram. The officials said that normally Godavari will not flood so severely even if the water flow is between 10-11 lakh cusecs. This could have happened due to a coffer dam (built as part of Polavaram project), the officials explained.

The Chief Minister has said that the water level at the construction site at Polavaram should be taken into consideration instead of the water level at Dowaleswaram and steps should be taken to rehabilitate those evacuated from the submerged villages and low-lying areas. The rehabilitation of Polavaram-displaced persons should be taken up on a war footing, he said.

Heavy downpour in the catchment area of Godavari basin and incessant rains in East and West Godavari districts from July 31 had triggered the floods.

The floods have affected nearly a lakh people. About 19,000 were evacuated from low-lying areas and shifted to relief camps.

Will Modi Circar support Jagan Navaratnalu?

0

There has been no special financial support from the Centre to Jagan Circar’s ‘Navaratnalu’ programmes in the past two months. Now, AP is not even getting Special Package that was received during Chandrababu regime. Obviously, the state is under considerable financial stress which is causing delays even in salaries payments to the government employees.

Immediately after arriving from Jerusalem, CM Jagan rushed to Delhi and prolonged his stay only to impress upon the Centre for extending all possible support AP. He made a special appeal to PM Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman to extend financial support to Navaratnalu, which requires thousands of crores. But there are AP BJP leaders who are already criticising Jagan. Will Centre respond positively?

Analysts say that BJP has ideological differences with YCP though it helped Jagan to win elections. Now, BJP wants to weaken YCP which is possible only when Central funds are stopped for programmes like Navaratnalu. If Jagan depends on BJP support, he will face a bigger financial crisis in the state because of his too many Cash Transfer Programmes. Chandrababu regime also faced similar stoppage of Central funds which eventually made him to look for revenue generation from within the state.

Andhra CM extends Delhi visit by a day

0

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday extended his visit to New Delhi by a day.

Jagan Reddy, who was to conclude his two-day visit on Wednesday, decided to stay in the national capital for another day.

Following this change in the schedule, the Chief Minister has cancelled his visit to his home town Pulivendula in Kadapa district and to Penuogonda in Anantapur district, where he was scheduled to attend the launch of SUV Seltos by South Korean auto major Kia Motors.

Some state ministers will attend the event to be held at Kia Motors’ India plant on Thursday. Finance Minister B. Rajendranath will read out the Chief Minister’s message.

Top officials of Kia Motors and South Korea’s Ambassador to India will attend the event.

Meanwhile, Jagan Reddy on Wednesday made courtesy call on President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu. He also met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Road Transport Ninister Nitin Gadkari and discussed various issues related to the state.

The Chief Minister had Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and reiterated the demand for grating special category status to Andhra Pradesh as promised by the Centre in 2014.

Naidu’s comment triggers a political storm

1

It’s only two months that CM Jaganmohan Reddy has completed in office after winning massive victory. But rival parties have already begun all-round attack. TDP boss has gone a step ahead and commented that Jagan Circar is like a he-buffalo which cannot give milk but only kicks the people. The remark kicked off a heated political debate.

There are opinions why Naidu has made such hasty remarks instead of giving some more time for Jagan Circar to perform and show results. Jana Senani Pawan Kalyan has said that he would wait for one full year to watch and then fully react. However, BJP and TDP already started criticism. Analysts say that due to lack of experience, Jagan’s has made enough self-goals which rival parties are unwilling to let go.

Naidu has sensed the already anti-YCP government feelings building up steadily all over the state. The poorer sections of people are also unhappy over collapse of construction industry with which all other sectors are badly hit. There’s a labour and job crisis in Andhra now. Jagan is facing criticism on sand, liquor and Anna Canteens. TDP has cleverly taken a calculated risk to start an early all out attack and put pressure on Jagan Circar.

Chandrababu fires on Jagan over funds, Amaravati, etc

0

Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu intensified his criticism against the Jagan Reddy government over the CM’s meeting with PM Modi. Naidu wondered why Jagan is blaming him instead of asking and getting funds from Modi. Out of sheer rivalry with Naidu and his TDP, Jagan Circar has stopped Amaravati Capital City altogether. It has no plans or intentions to build the Capital for Andhra Pradesh.

Chandrababu said that he still couldn’t understand why people gave such a massive defeat to TDP. It is clear now that the voters have chosen a beating he-buffalo in place of a milk-giving cow. The YCP government has no pro-people policies. CM Jagan is encouraging his partymen to create anarchy. The YCP leaders have taken mafia control over sand supply leading to tractor load cost at Rs 10,000.

Naidu told TDP activists to get ready to file private cases in courts if the ruling party leaders continue to harass them with false cases. Jagan has made a technical mistake by asking for Reorganization demands instead of immediate release of Central funds.

Andhra CM meets PM, reiterates demand for special status

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and reiterated the demand that the Centre accord Special Category Status to the state and fulfill other commitments made in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act.

Jagan Reddy called on Modi in the national capital and discussed various issues related to the state.

According to Chief Minister’s Office, Jagan Reddy explained the problems faced by the state and underlined the need to grant Special Category Status (SCS) to the state for its industrial development and overall growth.

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief has already announced that during every meeting with the Prime Minister, he will raise the issue of SCS, which was promised by the Centre while bifurcating Andhra Pradesh in 2014.

The Chief Minister also sought incentives for establishment of industries in the state. He demanded exemption from Goods and Services Tax (GST), Income tax and 100 per cent insurance premium for 10 years to industries.

He also urged Modi to fulfill the promises made to the state in Reorganisation Act by establishing steel plant in Kadapa district and constructing Ramayapatnam port as construction of Dugarajupatnam port envisaged earlier was not feasible.

Jagan Reddy, who assumed office on May 27, submitted a petition to Modi regarding different issues. He briefed the PM on the steps taken by his government to improve people’s standard of living, to provide social security to various sections of society, create infrastructure and ensure corruption-free and transparent governance.

Justifying his government’s decision to cancel Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) entered into by previous Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government with the producers of renewable energy, Jagan Reddy said the previous government was irrational and outlandish in signing these PPAs as they caused huge burden on the state exchequer. He alleged that PPAs were signed only to benefit a select few with ulterior motives.

The Chief Minister said though there was a purchase limit of 5-10 per cent, the TDP government purchased 23.6 per cent of renewable energy, causing Rs 2,654 crore loss to electricity department. He blamed previous government for the power producers landing in Rs 20,000 crore debts.

He told the Prime Minister that the state’s debts in 2014-15 were Rs 97,000 crore but by 2018-19, they mounted to Rs 2.58 lakh crore.

Jagan Reddy said the Centre should have released Rs 2,100 crore over six years for seven backward districts but only Rs 1,050 crore were released. He urged the Centre to release 23,300 crore for backward districts on the lines of KBK (Kalahandi-Bolangir-Koraput) model.

Explaining the water problems faced by the state, Jagan Reddy sought interlinking of Godavari and Krishna rivers. Stating that the government plans to develop a Water Grid at a cost of Rs 60,000 crore by 2050 to supply safe drinking water to people, he sought the Centre’s cooperation in the project.

Can YCP change its strategy on AP Special Status?

YCP founder YS Jaganmohan Reddy used Special Status slogan to corner and upset TDP in 2019 elections. After becoming Chief Minister, Jagan continued to make repeated requests for the Status in front of Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah. He did this despite the BJP leaders clarifying repeatedly that AP Special Status is a closed chapter. Still, YCP leaders are raising the Status issue again and again. Strategically, TDP has stopped raising this demand and becoming closer to BJP.

For sure, Jagan and his party are facing a bitter truth now. When Kashmir itself lost Special Status, will it be possible for AP to get it despite some empty promises made at the time of reorganisation? Can YCP continue its policy to demand Special Status any more? Jagan indeed made a strategic blunder by committing himself to the Status at every forum.

Nation has seen how the Modi-Shah duo carried out a surgical strike on Kashmir Special Status by scrapping Article 370. This triggered speculation that Modi took such a historic step concerning Kashmir and his approach to AP Special Status would be equally negative. BJP national spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao is now referring to Kashmir operation to all those Andhra forces which are asking for Special Status.

The Congress leaders called the Kashmir action a murder of democracy. But the BJP leaders hit back saying that the Congress played a foul game at the time of separating Andhra and Telangana. This is the atmosphere prevailing at the Centre. Will Jagan continue to plead and request PM with all humility for Special Status any more? Analysts say that YCP or TDP or any other Andhra party should take a lesson from Kashmir experience and better ask for special funds in place of Special Status. Just like, Chandrababu accepted Special Package during his regime.

Is Jagan Circar worried over Modi-Shah future plans?

0

Just a day after arriving from Jerusalem visit, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is rushing to Delhi today to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, President Ramnath Kovind and Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu. The AP CM’s visit is finalised despite the fact that all the above leaders would be busy with national level developments in the wake of Rajya Sabha scrapping Article 370 and Article 35A.

YCP says that Jagan will discuss pending AP reorganisation issues with PM and Shah. It is a subject being discussed for over six years now. More than that, Jagan is going to explain to Modi-Shah duo why his government had to remove the Navayuga Engineering Company from the Polavaram project works. Apparently, Jagan has considered this a high priority to immediately clarify his action and pacify the BJP top leaders.

Jagan tour is happening amid rumours that the Modi-Shah duo have already taken a serious stand against Jagan Circar’s controversial decisions on Polavaram, Amaravati Capital City, 10 per cent EWS reservations, etc. The YCP is obviously greatly worried over immediate possibility of the Centre turning totally against its government. This is evident from how YCP MP Vijayasai Reddy, in his Rajya Sabha speech, blamed Jawaharlal Nehru and Congress party for all the problems in Kashmir. Jagan is also worried over how TDP has welcomed BJP decisions on Kashmir and how TDP MPs are becoming closer to Modi Circar at the Centre

Telugu CMs cross limits in Swamijis appeasement

The impact of Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s style is enormous in Telugu states. His latest contribution is the increasing demand for the Swamijis in both the states. KCR’s patronage has given lot of publicity for Sarada Peetham Swaroopananda Swami. KCR made even Andhra CM Jaganmohan Reddy to give high priority to Swaroopananda whose stature rose by leaps and bounds in Telugu states in the past five years.

KCR’s undue promotion of Sarada Peetham has angered Tridandi China Jeeyar Swamiji who began airing views against Telangana CM before mutual acquaintances.

Immediately, KCR got to know about this and pacified Jeeyar Swamiji by asking him to conduct Maha Sudarsana Yagam soon. This has resolved the differences for now.
Analysts draw comparisons with past CMs and how they maintained safe distance from Swamijis. NTR himself wore Saffron robes calling himself a Sanyasi but he never crossed limits in relations with the Peethams and Swamijis. Chandrababu Naidu used to promote meditation gurus like Inner Engineering Guru Jaggi Vasudev and Art of Living Ravi Shankar.

Opposition multiple attacks as Jagan goes to Jerusalem

0

The TDP, BJP and Congress have made a combined attack on the YCP government with no ruling party leader giving a befitting reply now. On his part, Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is touring Jerusalem as a thanksgiving visit for his resounding victory in 2019 elections. All the ruling party leaders are away in their respective places with very little activity taking place in Amaravati Capital City.

At his juncture, Opposition parties mounted multiple attacks. The TDP has alleged that Jagan Reddy has cancelled the previous contract given by TDP regime on Polavaram only to promote his personal interests for developing a private hydel power project at the project site.

BJP MP Sujana Chowdary says that the developments in Andhra are alarming and there are concerns as to what is happening to the state. He took objection to Jagan Circar decision to cancel Navayuga works, saying that once works were given by a previous government cannot be cancelled. Sujana said that if Jagan runs government like this, industrialists will run away from Andhra. Congress leader Tulasi Reddy said that Jagan is acting like a Tughlaq government making all wrong decisions putting Andhra into total jeopardy and a dangerous situation.

BJP flays use of public money on Andhra CM’s private visit

0

With Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy leaving for Israel on Thursday night, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader has criticised him for burdening the public exchequer for a private visit.

Lanka Dinakar flayed the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government for releasing Rs 22.52 lakh for the chief minister’s security during the four-day visit. “Why the public money is being used for a private visit by the chief minister and his family,” Dinakar said.

The state government on Wednesday sanctioned Rs 22,52,500 towards security arrangements for the chief minister’s visit. The general administration department issued the order for releasing the amount to Triple S. Tours and Travels, Israel, to make the security arrangements.

Earlier, an order issued on July 26 mentioned that the visit was purely personal and the expenditure would be borne by Jagan Reddy. The order was about the permission accorded to Jagan Reddy by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Under another order issued the same day, the government granted permission to Sivaraj Senthil Kumar, Superintendent of Police, to visit Jerusalem in advance from July 29.

A. Joshi, Chief Security Officer to the Chief Minister, was also permitted to visit Israel along with Jagan Reddy to oversee the security arrangements and provide round the clock security.

This is Jagan Reddy’s first foreign visit after becoming the Chief Minister in May.

Jagan Reddy, a Protestant, and his family would visit the holy sites associated with Christianity in Jerusalem. It is seen as a thanksgiving visit for the YSRCP’s massive victory in the elections.

Earlier this week, a special CBI court granted permission to Jagan Reddy to visit Jerusalem and the USA between August 1 and August 25.

The court also allowed Rajya Sabha member and YSRCP general secretary V. Vijaysai Reddy to go abroad.

Both Jagan Reddy and Vijaysai Reddy are on bail in the quid pro quo cases registered against them by the CBI in 2011. The bail conditions required them to take prior permission of the court to travel abroad.

KCR-Jagan fears over Amit Shah master plans?

0

Andhra Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy is meeting Telangana CM Chandrasekhara Rao during his holiday trips to Hyderabad. But the latest meeting was officially described as one to discuss resolution of reorganisation issues. It may not be true as there were no senior officials or IAS officers supporting the two CMs during their meeting. There is a strong possibility that the two CMs would have discussed the emerging political challenges in Telugu States.

Analysts say that this time, the BJP’s expansions plans in Andhra and Telangana came up for discussion between Jagan and KCR. Both the CMs are considering Amit Shah as a tough rival and strategist who should not be taken lightly. Under his leadership, the BJP could establish itself as a strong force in West Bengal despite challenges from Mamata Banerjee and the Left parties there.

As of now, the BJP has won 4 MP seats in Telangana in 2019 general elections which dealt a great shock to KCR. Though TRS boss has taken strong steps to counter BJP afterwards, the saffron party is still gaining strength in different sections including the tribal populations. The BJP is also silently preparing ground to attack the YCP’s political strategies to win elections by taking advantage of Dalit and BC Christian vote banks.

Andhra, Telangana CMs discuss inter-state issues

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy met his Telangana counterpart K. Chandrashekar Rao here on Thursday to discuss the outstanding issues between the two sibling states.

The meeting assumed significance in view of the upcoming meeting of the two states convened by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on August 8 to resolve contentious issues.

The two Chief Ministers were also understood to have discussed the progress made on the decisions taken during their first meeting on June 28.

The issue of diversion of Godavari river water to Krishna river is believed to have figured prominently during the discussion.

The June 28 meeting, first full-fledged talks between the two states since Jagan Mohan Reddy assumed charge, had decided to amicably resolve all their water sharing disputes. It was also decided to divert water from Godavari river to Krishna river to tide over the water scarcity in parts of both the Telugu states.

Jagan Reddy and Chandrashekar Rao reviewed the progress on the issue with the engineers’ panels constituted by both the states submitting their proposals.

The upcoming August 8 meting is the first convened by the Centre after Jagan Reddy assumed charge in Andhra Pradesh.

Before meeting Chandrashekar Rao, Jagan Reddy also called on Telangana Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan.

As Governor of both the states, Narasimhan had played the role of a facilitator in the talks during last five years.

The Centre recently appointed a full-time Governor for Andhra Pradesh.

Relief to Jagan from ED attachments

The Enforcement Directorate Appellate Tribunal has given big relief to AP CM Jaganmohan Reddy. It cancelled the ED attachment of assets belonging to Jagan worth Rs. 750 crore. These assets included the Sakshmi media head office in Jubilee Hills, Mantri Bhavan in Bangalore, Lotus Pond residence, etc. The Tribunal has also given relief to industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad by cancelling the attachment of his assets worth over Rs. 300 crore.

It may be recalled that the ED attached properties of Prasad in the VANPIC quid pro quo case which was investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation and also the ED. Prasad was arrested in Serbia yesterday and the YCP MPs are bringing pressure on the Centre for safe release and return to India.

The Tribunal has also ordered the release of property belonging to YS Bharati, wife of CM Jaganmohan Reddy. In all these cases, the Appellate Tribunal found fault with the ED for taking hasty action against the accused.

Corporate schools under AP Commission scanner

CM Jaganmohan Reddy has been talking about the complete overhaul of the education system in private sector. Accordingly, the AP Education Regulation and Monitoring Bill is passed in the Assembly. A Commission will be set up under the head of a retired High Court judge to monitor fees, admissions, teaching standards, facilities, etc. Total powers are given to the Commission to inspect and supervise schools and colleges.

Can the new bill help to really reform the corporate institutions? There’s intense competition among corporate managements to attract students by introducing a variety of courses. These schools show final results and exploit weaknesses of parents for charging huge sums. Most schools collect high fees but provide nominal facilities and teachers are also underpaid.

There are schools which charge Rs 1 lakh for 10th class for giving foundation courses to write exams for IITs, NITs and medical schools admissions.

Corporate schools and colleges mostly do not have playgrounds. They do not hold sports and games. It’s something the new Commission may also address.

Niti Aayog CEO gives shock to Jagan Circar?

The Jaganmohan Reddy government’s bill for 75 per cent jobs to locals is attracting negative attention to Andhra Pradesh at the national level. Bigger trouble started after The Financial Express, an English national daily, published an analysis report on how AP’s new bill will hurt the federal spirit in the country as a whole. More embarrassment came for Jagan Circar as Niti Ayog Chief Executive Officer Amitabh Kant posted The Financial Express story on his Twitter handle.

Though Amitabh Kant has not given his personal comment, he highlighted sentences from the paper report on how AP’s bill will hurt Centre-State relations and Pan India job market in future. Niti Ayog is the policy-making body for India. Such action from its CEO badly embarrassed the Jagan Reddy government. CMO Special Secretary PV Ramesh responded on Twitter and requested Amitabh Kant to go through the contents of the bill. He says that there is nothing that will discourage outsiders to come to AP. Interestingly, Ramesh says that the full contents of the bill are still being worked out.

It is a fact that such reservations for locals have proved to be a failure in many states like Maharashtra, Karnataka, etc. But Jagan Circar blindly went ahead to fulfil CM’s poll promise. Niti Ayog CEO’s Tweet is being considered as an indirect message to AP that the Centre will not take the AP bill positively.

Secret efforts still on to hand over Bandar port?

The Jaganmohan Reddy government has issued GO No. RT-62 on June 28, 2019, to hand over the Bandar port in Krishna district to the Telangana government. This was issued as a confidential, secret GO but later cancelled following a controversy. Jagan Circar reportedly took a U-Turn considering its serious impact on his party. But there are fresh allegations that secret efforts are still going on to hand over this port. With this, yet another Andhra asset is being given in a golden platter to KCR Circar. Already, the Andhra assets in Hyderabad are handed over.

It is a fact that KCR celebrated the victory of Jagan in AP election. At that time, there were reports that KCR was planning to get a dry port developed in Telangana soil. For its operation, Telangana should have a real port nearer to its soil. The worst fears of Andhra people are coming true that Jagan Circar is doing everything possible to benefit KCR and his TRS party interests.

In fact, the immediate natural asset of Andhra is its long coastline. There is a possibility to develop a lot of ports in addition to the existing ports at Vizag, Kakinada, Krishnapatnam, etc. Ports are indeed a great advantage that Andhra has over Telangana. In the name of agitation, KCR defamed Andhras but now he is craving for an Andhra port. Jagan Circar is playing with the sentiments of Andhras in every way possible.

Opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu says that Jagan Circar is even telling lies on the GO RT-62 though it was released over a month ago in a very secretive affair. When it was raised in the Assembly, the government said that there was no such move to hand over the port.

Will Jagan respond to Mudragada’s challenge?

0

Mudragada Padmanabham, the prominent leader from Kapu community who has been fighting for Kapu reservations, responded on Jagan’s U-turn on Kapu reservations. He challenged Jagan to show the proof that which courts has rejected 5% reservations to Kapus. Details as below.

Kapu’s severely disappointed with jagan’s recent decision:

It is known news that CBN government before elections announced 5% out of the 10% reservations provided to Economic week sections by central government will be allotted to Kapus and remaining 5% will be provided to other OCs. However, Jagan’s government recently struck of such possibility and said court judgments are not in favor of such arrangement. Jagan’s statement caused lot of disappointment and concern to Kapu community that voted in favour of YSRCP in recent assembly elections. There was lot of pressure on Mudragada from Kapu community to immediately respond on Jagan’s unilateral decision. Kapu community have been circulating videos in which Jagan spoke in favour of Kapu reservations during election campaigning.

Mudragada challenges Jagan:

Mudragada responded on the issue and expressed his disappointment over Jagan’s decision. He challenged Jagan to reveal, which court had given stay on this subject. He further challenged Jagan that if he reveals those details, he and his followers will not even talk about Kapu reservations until next elections. He even poked CM for taking U-turn on Special category status and reminded that he earlier told, if he gets 25 MPs, he will fight strongly for Special category status. He questioned Jagan, whether he believes Kapus voted him for 2000 crores funds for Kapu corporation. He requested political parties not to consider Kapus as mere vote banks and solve their issue.

Mudragada reminds about Sharimla filing case on trollers:

Mudragada reminded Jagan about his sister filing police case on trollers before elections. He reminded Jagan to note that ongoing trolling on him as the workers of some parties are trolling him to be a selfish politician and being sold out to Jagan. He told that he cannot be cowed down with such tactics. He reminded those workers who are trolling him that he is also like Sharmila.

Will Jagan respond to Mudragada’s challenge:

The major point in his latest letter is his challenge to Jagan to reveal which court has objected allotting this 5% reservations to Kapu community. We have to wait and see whether Jagan, who loves challenges, will accept this challenge of Mudragada or not.
