Is the reason for choosing Kanna Lakshmi Narayana as AP BJP chief

4

Appointing Kanna Lakshmi Narayana as AP BJP Chief has come as a surprise to many people in the state as well as in the political circles. Usually BJP top positions will be given to those who come from RSS background. Also it is very rare for BJP to give such top position to turncoat politicians. However these two reasons did not stop Kanna lakshminarayana to get the top post. Many people are now discussing the reason why BJP High Command chose Kanna over Somu Veerraju.

It seems there have been couple of reasons for that. Alliance between TDP and BJP has come to an end after budget. So BJP has to ally with any other major party in Andhra Pradesh as it doesn’t have strength to go on its own. Of course YSRCP is ready to join BJP. So it seems BJP high command might have thought Kanna lakshminarayana being a senior leader and good at negotiations will be able to strike a right deal with YSR CP. Also if needed BJP may want Janasena also into their alliance and they felt Kanna is able to convince Pawan Kalyan as well.

Another reason for choosing Kanna over Somu veerraju is that a section of BJP leaders are not happy with Somu veerraju and wanted BJP high command not to give him the top post even though they are not particular who else will get it. So all these reasons combined, made BJP high command to go with Kanna. We will have to wait and see how Kanna will strengthen the party in the state where it almost lost the ground

YS Jagan…. Is it fair to politicize Dachepalli incident?

3

Excluding perverts, who sexually abuse children, Politicians are the next immediate ones who lack ethics, and social character. In an incident that has plundered the whole state into shame, YSRCP Supremo YS Jagan’s comments are questioning his political ethics.

It is known that a 50-year-old auto rickshaw driver has sexually abused a 9-year-old girl. The accused is identified as Subbaiah. Reacting to this, YS Jagan has expressed great anguish and grief over the incident.

It would have been nice if he had limited himself. His statements could have been considered as a courtesy for the victim, and her family. He went on to say, ‘from the past few months this kind of incidents has been increasing in Andhra Pradesh. In most of the cases, the accused belonged to TDP.

These statements clearly expose the shallow minds of our politicians, who claim that they would bring a positive change in the people’s lives. All that we as citizens request is, if you can help a rape victim, it is great. Even if you don’t, no one is bothered. But trying to use this kind of incidents to criticize political opponents is nothing but crass.

For CBN, politics mean ‘Power’ – Bhumana

0

A key leader among the political circles in Tirupathi, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy came down hard at the AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. Speaking to the media today, the YSRCP leader has made sensational comments on Chandrababu Naidu.

‘One should win and come into power. It is not someone who one takes it because someone else throws alms at them. YS Jagan is not fighting to become the Chief Minister of the state, but to live the dreams what YS Rajasekhar Reddy has dreamt of.

Jagan is the only leader who stood all alone in 10 Janpath. No one can demoralize him, despite their valiant efforts. We should be like a helping hand to a leader like YS Jagan.

He already banished the Congress Party, by barging into its fortress across the state. With TDP it is just a matter of time. He will single-handedly defeat BJP. YSRCP’s principles are nothing but YSR’s thoughts. For Chandrababu Naidu, politics mean just ‘power’, said Bhumana.

It is nice of the YSRCP leader to boast about their supremo. At the same time, the so-called political leader has forgotten to speak about the ‘vote bank politics’, and ‘sensational’ comments made by YS Jagan.

Analysis: YSRCP strategists bankrupt with ideas ?

0

Recent statement by YSRCP chief Jagan about renaming Krishna district as NTR district has drawn lot of ire from some leaders of YSRCP as well as some supporters of YSRCP party. People thought it might have been an impulsive statement from Jagan but later Lakshmi Parvathi and some other leaders clarified that it is not an impulsive statement but it is a strategic decision from the party and it has been discussed within the party before the announcement. This statement of Lakshmi Parvathi surprised many whether YSRCP strategist are not able to gauge the public response for this decision or are they bankrupt with ideas.

Renaming Krishna district with name of NTR itself is not a bad decision but it coming from YSRCP and Jagan is definitely a bad decision. For example, both Karunanidhi and Jayalalitha are political stalwarts of Tamilnadu and both are great personalities in their own way. However still, even after Jayalalitha’s death, DMK leaders like Stalin remind people of corruption cases on Jayalalitha. Because they clearly know people supporting one party at the cost of other, definitely have some anti sentiments against the other party. If Stalin announces to bestow any great honor on Jayalalitha, definitely he would draw ire from the cadre and also from the leaders of his own party. Indira Gandhi, Karunanidhi , YSR, Jayalalitha, Modi – all these leaders have great fan following and hard core fans and at the same time they have anti fans who hate them to the core. NTR is not exception for this. People who hate one of these leaders obviously support the other party. But if that other party also supports those same leaders, these people will definitely be in a disappointment.

This is very simple logic in politics which Jagan party strategists have missed. YSRCP leaders from Krishna District like Ramachandra have demanded Jagan to take back his words or else he will resign to the party. Vangaveeti Narendra, relative of vangaveeti Radha, also came down heavily on Jagan and YSRCP for his decision in a TV debate in which Lakshmi Parvathi was representing YSRCP. He questioned what did NTR do for Krishna district and he also mentioned Ranga’s name during the debate. To counter his argument, Lakshmi Parvathi had to belittle Ranga in comparison with NTR. Obviously this is not a good move as Ranga is an icon for some section of people, no matter what other sections say. Rubbing on the wrong side of this section of people who actually are a major chunk of voters, will definitely hamper the prospects of YSR CP. Strategists of the YSRCP party not be able to predict this development clearly exposes the lack of political acumen and going for this idea to woo the voters of Krishna District displays the bankruptcy of ideas for political strategists of YSRCP.

It is to be noted that some sections of people requested Chandrababu Naidu to name the capital city of Andhra Pradesh with the name of NTR as early as 2015 but Chandrababu denied the proposal as he clearly understand the repercussions that move. Maybe Jagan could have taken a cue from his political rival, at least in this move

Show the videos of CBN promises before Elections – YSRCP MLA Roja

0

YSRCP MLA, and firebrand, Roja has once again meant business for the news channels and the political circles. She made scathing comments on AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu in her latest press meet. Talking about the ‘Dharma Deeksha’ staged by Chandrababu Naidu & Team in Tirupathi on April 30th, 2018, Roja questioned the integrity of Chandrababu.

‘Chandrababu Naidu has extended his friendship to Narendra Modi in front of the very same Venkanna. Why is no one speaking about the promises made by Chandrababu before the elections? The people are not in any state of hallucination to believe CBN’s words’.

She compared the mike in CBN’s hand to that of a stone in a mentally ill individual. ‘There is absolutely no difference between having a stone in a mentally ill person, and a mike in CBN’s hand. He himself doesn’t know what he speaks when he has a mike in the hand.

While Chandrababu Naidu claims that he has severed ties with BJP at all levels, then how did he induct the wife of a BJP Minister into the TTD (Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam) board? Only he should answer’, concluded MLA Roja.

The comments from YSRCP and TDP leaders against each other are turning out to be fodder for Telugu News Channels and senseless YouTube videos.

Prof Nageshwar on YSR Congress BJP Nexus allegations

0

Chandrababu Naidu has yet again accused the opposition YSR Congress of having a clandestine deal with the BJP. Naidu has also alleged that Modi-Shah led BJP is using YS Jagan to hatch a conspiracy against him.

Such allegations are not uncommon in politics. It is difficult to conclusively establish any backdoor dealings. But, the political behaviour of YSR congress is certainly providing ammunition to TDP to level such allegations against it.

  • 1. The struggle of YSR Congress for special status is primarily focussed on Chandrababu Naidu betraying people of Andhra Pradesh rather than Modi reneging on his promises to state. The high decibel attack on Naidu eclipses the low-key criticism on BJP.
  •

  • 2.The unconditional support of YSR Congress to NDA nominees in both Presidential and Vice Presidential elections despite the presence of its arch rival, the TDP in the BJP led combine raises serious questions over YS Jagan’s approach towards BJP. The YSR Congress should have insisted on something for Andhra Pradesh to extend support for NDA nominees.
  •

  • 3. During the last four years of NDA rule, the YSR congress was not part of any joint opposition initiative inside and outside Parliament. This attitude indirectly strengthens the ruling NDA regime.
  •

  • 4. YS Jagan has been silent on the controversial decisions of Modi government like demonetisation, GST, petroleum prices, cow vigilantism, minority bashing etc.
  •

  • 5. Giving further credence to the allegations of TDP, a section of BJP leaders even while in alliance with TDP were making serious corruption allegations against Chandrababu Naidu government and conspicuously silent over YS Jagan.
  •

  • 6. The statements by BJP and NDA leaders after TDP walked out of NDA strengthens the speculation that YSR Congress could be a post poll ally of BJP.
  •

  • 7. The YSR Congress still states that it will support any ruling combination at the centre if it is ready to accord special status for Andhra Pradesh post 2019. But, such general statement even after BJP unambiguously stating that special status is not possible does not carry any legitimacy. Instead, YS Jagan should have categorically said that he would support any non-BJP combination in 2019 as the BJP has already rejected the special status demand.
  •

  • 8. The TDP has appealed to Karnataka voters to defeat BJP. The TRS at least extended support to Janata Dal (S), a non-Congress, non-BJP contestant at least for now. But, YSR congress remained neutral. Such a non-committal stand towards BJP at a time the saffron party is engaged in a do or die battle in Karnataka which has a sizable presence of telugu voters is unacceptable even when Modi government is incurring the wrath of people of Andhra Pradesh.
  •

  • 9. The YSR Congress MPs resigned from Parliament. But, there is no attempt to get their resignations accepted or no criticism on the authorities concerned for not accepting their resignations. It may be recalled that during Telangana movement, legislators staged protests in Speaker’s chamber to get their resignations accepted.
  •

  • 10. The central investigating agencies are very active against opposition leaders like Lalu Prasad Yadav, Arvind Kejriwal. But, the prospective ally, the DMK could come out of 2G case due to prosecutions failure to establish evidence. The CBI is silent over the cases against Nitish Kumar. The BJP leaders are openly stating that central agencies do not spare Chandrababu Naidu’s corruption despite being ‘partners in crime’ for four years. But, the central agencies are not showing similar pace when it comes to corruption charges against YS Jagan. No BJP leader is seen commenting on allegations against YS Jagan.

The YSR Congress is certainly able to expose Chandrababu Naidu’s vacillation on special status and his politics over it. But, it fails to convince the people on the strange relations it enjoys with BJP.

YSRCP is behind Sri Reddy & Ram Gopal Varma – Bonda Uma

1

TDP minister Bonda Uma reacted on the ongoing row involving Pawan Kalyan, Sri Reddy, and Ram Gopal Varma. Talking to the press in a specially convened meeting in Vijayawada, the TDP MLA tried to make sure that TDP and Nara Lokesh is well defended.

He said, ‘one should be able to furnish convincible evidence when they make allegations against anyone. Pawan Kalyan is alleging that Nara Lokesh is behind Sir Reddy and RGV. What evidence does he have?

YSRCP is behind Sri Reddy and Ram Gopal Varma. It is really unfortunate to drag Nara Lokesh name into this episode.

While our CM CBN is doing ‘Dharma Deeksha’, people have been conspiring against him sitting in Telangana. They wanted to create troubles for TDP. Did they even question Modi and Centre on SCS and the commitments in the AP Reorganization act?’

Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan has come with few more interesting tweets regarding Srinivasa Raju Chalapathi’s donations to TDP party during the 2009-2010 Fiscal Year.

Jagan taking people for granted while telling lies

0

YSRCP chief Jagan has been doing padayatra and his party MPs have resigned to their posts yesterday. While all of this seem to have given a boost to YSRCP fans, immediately that enthusiasm is snubbed by none other than the party chief Jagan. It seems they are also opining Jagan need not try to twist the truths and simply say whatever he has really done.

First thing is Jagan always saying he is the ONLY one fighting for special category status. This kind of statements will actually do harm as he is conveniently ignoring the facts. By saying so he is belittling the fight of pressure groups like Chalasani’s “Prathyeka hoda sadhana samithi”. Also, it was not Jagan who first started attacking BJP in Telugu states. In fact, immediately after 2014 elections, Jagan went and met Modi and has been soft on BJP. It is after Pawan’s speech in Tirupati meeting where he attacked BJP and Venkayya Naidu, Jagan hurriedly took over the agenda of SCS. Of course, Pawan’s inconsistent politics helped Jagan successfully creating the image of “ONLY one” fighting for SCS.

Another one is Jagan saying now that he was the ONLY one fought for United Andhra before 2014. By listening this people are wondering whether Jagan is taking them for granted. While TDP gave a letter for Telangana, Jagan also gave letter and he specifically asked center to use “ARTICLE 3” of constitution and grant Telangana immediately. Only CPM stood for United Andhra those days.

Probably Jagan taking memory of people for granted, at least that’s what people are thinking after seeing his recent press meets.

Five YSR Congress MPs to resign on Friday, sit on hunger strike

1

All the five Lok Sabha Members of YSR Congress on Thursday annnounced they will resign from Parliament and sit on an indefinite hunger strike at Andhra Bhawan here over their demand for special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

The party also said that on one pretext or the another, the Lok Sabha Speaker is not admitting its no-confidence notice and has been denying a discussion on the motion.

“After the house is adjourned sine die tomorrow (Friday), all five of us will tender our resignation and sit on an indefinite hunger strike at the Andhra Bhawan till our demand is met,” party MP Vara Prasadarao Velagapalli said.

Addressing a press conference here, the MPs blamed Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for failing to get the status for the state despite being in the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for four years.

They dismissed the state’s ruling Telugu Desam Party’s (TDP) MPs’ protests inside Parliament for special status as mere “gimmick and antics”.

The YSR Congress decision came after Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan did not take up the no-confidence motion for which the YSR Congress gave at least 12 notices on different occasions.

“On one pretext or the another, the Speaker is not admitting our no-confidence notice and has been denying us a discussion on the motion. If the motion is not taken up again on Friday, we will have no choice but to resign,” Velagapalli added.

He said that let alone the special category status, Naidu “could not even get what is enshrined in the Andhra Pradesh Bifurcation Act”. The TDP quit the NDA last month.

Another MP Y.V. Subba Reddy said that the proposed resignations will not be symbolic and these would be submitted in a proper format. The party would like bypolls to be held for the seats vacated by them, he said.

Responding to the Chief Minister’s remarks that “some tainted parties” were ready to shake hands with the BJP in Andhra Pradesh, Subba Reddy said that if the YSR Congress were to join the BJP’s company it “would not have been the first party to have brought the no-confidence motion against the Narendra Modi government”.

Midhun Reddy, one of the five YSR MPs, called the TDP members to resign from the Lok Sabha along with his YSR Congress MPs.

“This sit-in is part of the TDP antics. They are resorting to drama. The marshals will remove them. What I would like to tell the TDP members is — let us fight together for our state and let’s resign from Parliament together. Cheap tactics like sitting in Parliament will not help,” Midhun Reddy said while reacting to reports of TDP MPs staging a sit-in inside Parliament House from Thursday.

Bowing to long-pending demand by a section of the state’s population, the central government had in 2014 bifurcated the state to carve out Telangana and residuary state of Andhra Pradesh by getting the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act passed in Parliament.

Velagapalli pointed out that after the bifurcation, Telangana, which accounts for roughly 40 per cent of the total population of the undivided state, got around 70 per cent of the state’s revenue sources while the “residuary Andhra Pradesh that houses around 60 per cent of the population got just 30-35 per cent of the revenue resources”.

To compensate that, the then Union government had proposed special category status to Andhra Pradesh. But that promise has not been fulfilled till date,” he said.

The YSR Congress and the TDP members have been agitating in both houses of Parliament ever since the second half of the Budget session commenced on March 5, demanding special category status to Andhra Pradesh. They gather near the Speaker’s podium while holding placards and shouting slogans.

What happens after YSRCP MPs resign

3

As earlier announced by Jagan, YSRCP MPs are planning to resign to their posts after this parliament sessions. As per Jagan, these members of parliament are resigning to further their fight on special category status. However Let us see what may happen once these MP resign.

There are actually several permutations and combinations. First one is YSRCP members resign to their posts but elections do not happen. In this case, probably Jagan may not get much political mileage because once it is confirmed that elections will not happen, people and opponent parties will start accusing Jagan that he made sure that his members will resign only after particular date so that they don’t have to face the elections and yet get some mileage. This propaganda will definitely hamper YSRCP prospects in next elections .

Second scenario- YSR CP MPs resign but “No confidence motion” is taken up by speaker in next sessions or any sessions before elections. If this happens it will be a big blow to YSRCP as everyone will start saying Jagan made a big blunder of his entire career. Because if such NCM happens and discussion happens in parliament and YSR CP members are not there in parliament to voice out their opinion- they will be left behind in the fight for special category status as whatever TDP MPs speak that will be there in records.

Third scenario – if no confidence motion is never taken up by Modi government in future and YSRCP MPs face elections before 2019 elections. In this scenario people may have soft corner for YSRCP as they resigned for the cause of people and so people may re-elect them in elections which will give a big boost to the party six months before the main and general elections. This is not a new strategy, as KCR has attempted and was successful in implementing this kind of strategy earlier. Also if this happens, it will put enormous pressure on TDP and Chandrababu Naidu to devise a new strategy to counter Jagan getting any political advantage.

Fourt scenario – the one in which both TDP and YSRCP members of parliament resign to the posts and face elections. It will not be really surprising if this happens too. Because, just one day before YSRCP giving no confidence motion, Chandrababu Naidu, made decision to give such motion from TDP itself. So to avoid third scenario happening, TDP also may resign to their posts and all 25 MPs (minus BJP MPs) face elections. This scenario may trigger debate in national media but election result will be mostly same and both parties may retain their seats. There may be plus or minus 1 to 3 seats gaining or losing for one of the parties but that will not have any impact on the overall political scenario except for giving some edge to the gained party in TV channel debates. If this happens, it will also be a big blow to Pawan Kalyan and his party as the focus of people will be shifted to fight of TDP and YSRCP

There are few more possible permutations and combinations like BJP completely taking a U turn and granting special category status to AP and contesting all the seats with or without alliance with janasena during by-elections. But the probability is too less for such scenarios to happen. There might be new political developments after Karnataka elections too. So, whether Jagan’s decision will prove right or wrong will be depending on the arising situation.

YSRCP plays defensive politics!

0

The dynamics of Indian politics can be the best topic for a case study. Even the best brains in politics are finding it hard to guess their opposition. To add more flair to the ongoing political drama in the Parliament, YSRCP MPs stepped into the Lok Sabha with resignation letters in speaker format.

The YSRCP MPs wanted to resign, and gain brownie points, hoping that the Lok Sabha will get adjourned indefinitely. But to their amazement, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan said, the house again meet on Monday. This pushed them on the back foot, making them withdraw their ‘resignation proposal’.

This raises two questions; why can’t Lok Sabha be adjourned indefinitely, given the current situation? And why did YSRCP step back?

The BJP party wants the Lok Sabha to function irrespective of anything. This gives them an edge during the election campaigning. They can claim thatnon-NDA MPs stalled the house from carries its business during the entire Parliamentary Budget Sessions.

In case of YSRCP, the party realized that if their MPs resign at this moment, it is like giving the TDP a lead, which in turn is waiting to claim itself as the only AP party fighting for the AP SCS.

On a whole, with BJP’s selfish politics, and AP parties’opportunistic approach, the dream of getting AP SCS might remain as a dream.

Janasena and YSRCP boycott CBN’s ‘All party meet’

0

Janasena party and YSRCP has boycotted the ‘All Party Meet’ called by AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. With speculations rife that the NCM will be moved in the Lok Sabha today, the AP CM has called for an ‘All Party Meet’.CBN sent a Letter of Invitation to all parties and NGOs, that are protesting for ‘AP Special Category Status’. The main agenda of the meeting is to make it clear that, all parties in AP are standing united about AP SCS.

Janasena stated that there no use of this meeting, and hence is boycotting it. Political circles believe that TDP leaders backlash at Pawan Kalyan in the recent past kept Janasena further away from the All Party Meet.

Meanwhile, YSRCP listed out the reasons for not attending the meet in a letter written to Chandrababu. The letter read, ‘we have no trust in Chandrababu’s integrity, and don’t want to be a part of this conspiracy. CBN’s stance on AP SCS kept on changing with time. CBN is trying to snub the SCS movement in the State with this meeting’.

With Janasena, and YSRCP boycotting, and CPI/CPM hardly having any impact, the ‘All Party Meet’ is turning out to be a TDP & Co. meeting. CBN’s dream of leading the SCS Movement are likely to fail once again.

YSRCP MPs resignation to be earlier than expected?

0

The YSRCP MPs ‘Resignation Plan’ is likely to be preponed. Speaking to the press, YSRCP Supremo YS Jagan said, YSRCP MPs will resign if the Lok Sabha is adjourned indefinitely. From March 16th, the lower house of the parliament is being adjourned. With the Lok Sabha to begin from tomorrow, everyone is expecting that more or less, the same might repeat.

In this context, YS Jagan’s comments have become critical. Initially, YS Jagan announced that if the Centre doesn’t grant ‘Special Category Status’ to Andhra Pradesh, the party’s MPs will resign on April 6th, after the ending of Parliament Budget Sessions on April 5th.

‘If the Lok Sabha is adjourned indefinitely, YSRCP MPs will resign tomorrow. The resignation letters of the YSRCP MPs will in Speaker Format only.At the same time, I also hereby request the TDP MPs to join’, added YS Jagan.

Adding to this, YSRCP MP Mekapati Ram Mohan Reddy said, ‘if TDP is committed towards the development of the state, and the interests of the Telugu people, they should also be ready for resigning’.

YSRCP follows same strategy, yet again

2

YSRCP leaders have one specific strategy, that they have been following for many years now. Of late, people have understood that strategy. But YSRCP still continues to follow the same strategy. The strategy of YSRCP is as below:

As already discussed in detail in a previous article (https://www.telugu360.com/te/ysrcp-strategy-on-bjp-and-special-status/), YSRCP leaders, including Jagan and Vijaya Sai Reddy, when talking to english media or national channels they always made sure that they won’t rub on the wrong side to the central government and wherever possible they speak good words about those national media in ENGLISH. But when the same YSRCP leaders come to AP and speak to local media, they fire on those Central leaders and say, it is only YSRCP that can bend those Delhi leaders. This has been their strategy for long.

In 2013, after Jagan released from jail, this strategy started. In Telugu Channels they fire on UPA and Sonia but in national media, Jagan used to say, if needed he can support UPA government. Recently also Jagan gave an interview to national channel and told if SCS is granted he is ready to ally with BJP.

Now the latest in this series is Vijaya Sai Reddy wrote an opinion article in English media. In that article, he lambasted Chandra Babu Naidu for the current situation (not getting SCS for AP) as he wrote..”.. in 2015, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu himself traded away the promised Special Category Status for a “special package”, which, he has now realized, is wholly inadequate to compensate for Andhra Pradesh’s woes.” He also tried to give impression that Andhra Pradesh is let Down Not By Center But by Chandrababu Naidu as he wrote about “…particularly the mismanagement in the building of the new capital in Amaravati and the financial irregularities in the Polavaram irrigation project – to the central government.” He also blasted Chandra Babu for stating Special Category Status has become a “sentimental” and “emotional” issue for the people of Andhra Pradesh, as he wrote ..”Could something be more disrespectful than reducing a people’s struggle for their legal rights to a mere emotive display? The statements have only betrayed TDP’s stunted understanding of democratic agitation, law and policy.”

Surprising thing in this article is, it never questioned Modi for not implementing SCS for AP. In the entire article if you CTRL+F (find) the key word “Modi”, you will find it only once and it is used to criticize TDP’s exit from Modi’s government. People do not understand 2 things here – One, if Chandra Babu is reason for AP not getting SCS and letting down, why is YSRCP moving no confidence motion against center. Two, whether YSRCP has confidence or no-confidence on Modi government.

Unless, political parties in AP stop this kind of mud-slinging on each other and fight unitedly, AP can not achieve anything from center!!

No-Confidence Motion: A new Triangular Love Story in Parliament

2

We often hero triangular love stories in movies, and real life. When it comes to politics, these take the form of ‘triangular fight’ especially when it comes to elections. Given the recent developments in Parliament, we can suggest the title ‘Triangular Love’ for YSRCP, TDP and Congress.

After the no-confidence motion drama was unveiled by YSRCP, followed by TDP, not even a single session of Parliament (considering both the houses) ran at a stretch for an hour. Adding more drama to the ongoing play, Congress too has joined in the ‘no-confidence motion’.

Opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge served notice of moving ‘No-Confidence Motion’ on 27th March 2018 in Lok Sabha to the Secretary-General of Lok Sabha. The recent development comes at a time when the nation’s oldest existing party has been shadowed.

Until now, neither YSRCP nor TDP have managed to get the no-confidence motion passed. It will be interesting whether Congress can make it possible. Insider sources have confirmed that TRS MPs will only intensify their protests, given their anti-Congress stand in Telangana, and will nowhere budge because Congress wants to move the NCM.

Vijaya Sai Reddy misses the logic, yet again

2

Vijaya Sai Reddy, member of Parliament from YSRCP revealed a strange logic while explaining the reason why he is meeting Prime minister Modi again and again.

He addressed reporters and made comments on Chandra Babu Naidu and TDP government. As always, he told, Chandrababu government is involved in lot of corruption, Chandrababu is not reliable, chandrababu doesn’t believe his own shadow, blah blah..However, after his regular dose of criticism, he was asked by reporters why Vijaya sai reddy is meeting PM again and again. For this he gave a convoluted logic. He told, “Debt of AP before 2014 was 97,000 crores but now it is 2.25 lakh crores. So the debt increased by 1.28 lakh crores. All this money went into pockets of Chandra babu and his ministers. So, to stop this corruption and send Chandra babu to jail, I am meeting PM”.

But whoever watched the interview wondered, if somebody is doing corruption and Vijay Sai reddy has any proofs for that he should be approaching courts rather than PM and PMO. So, its obvious that Vijay Sai Reddy doesn’t have any proofs. He must be putting this logic only to hide his real intentions of meeting PM, i.e. to get absolved from the cases. Or, another possibility is to request Modi to induct him and YSRCP MPs into NDA cabinet.

Anyway, YSRCP has been giving this kind of convoluted logics since many years and that is also one reason why people not believing YSRCP’s explanations and clarifications!!

Did Chandrababu run out of subjects, for criticizing parties?

10

Political leaders pick a topic to criticize their opposition leaders. At times, they run out of topics all of a sudden. It looks like same is the case of AP CM Chandrababu Naidu currently. After hanging on to Arun Jaitley comments on Special Category Status and remarks that Defence budget cannot be allocated to Andhra Pradesh, CBN hardly had any substantial topic to attack the Centre.

Even in his recent teleconference with TDP MPs, CBN mentioned that Jaitley’s comments invoked ample emotion in AP public. Along with his routine ‘direction’ to TDP MPs, comments on Vijay Sai Reddy, and attacking Pawan Kalyan, the AP CM has literally nothing to offer.

With YSRCP bunking the AP Assembly sessions, and YS Jagan via Vijay Sai Reddy busy in lobbying BJP key leaders in Delhi, the TDP leaders have diverted their attention towards Pawan Kalyan. Sources close to TDP informed that their blistering attack on Pawan Kalyan wouldn’t continue for long, given the ‘self-harm’ it is causing.

It will be interesting to see, how long Chandrababu will continue with his routine and trivial criticism, to divert people’s attention.

TDP, YSR stay away from Speaker’s lunch

0

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and YSR Congress members on Monday skipped a lunch hosted by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan after their no-confidence motions were not taken up for discussion.

“We boycotted the lunch as our notice of no-confidence motion is not being admitted. The Speaker adjourned the House which should not have happened. More efforts should have been made for the functioning of the House,” YSR Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member Vijay Sai Reddy told IANS.

He also alleged that the TDP and TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi) were creating a logjam in parliament on behalf of the treasury benches.

TDP Lok Sabha member Thota Narsimham said “We will not attend the Speaker’s lunch as she did not admit our no-confidence motion.”

He said the TDP was looking for a debate in the House on how the government was denying justice to Andhra Pradesh.

A no-confidence motion tabled by arch rivals TDP and YSR Congress against the Modi government was not taken up in the Lok Sabha on Monday as the Parliament logjam entered its third week amid no signs of a thaw between the agitating parties and the government.

After the House was adjourned for an hour and when it met again at 12 noon, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan sought to put the notices of the motion for leave of the House so that a discussion could be initiated. At least 50 members have to back the motion for it to be admitted.

Prof Nageshwar – TDP No confidence motion is a damage control exercise

1

A day after TDP lost the initiative and forced to extend the support to YSR Congress sponsored no- confidence motion on the question of special status TDP moved its own no-confidence motion. Now, it is a strange political spectacle that YSR Congress and TDP are moving separate no-confidence motions though aimed at similar purpose. Thus, is the political manoeuvring to reap the maximum mileage from people’s sentiment. As the YSR Congress preponed its decision to move the no-confidence motion , Naidu hurriedly took the decision to pull out of NDA. Earlier he has only withdrew his ministers.

In fact, the decision of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has precipitated the exit of TDP from NDA. Thus, he was compelled to extend support to YSR congress sponsored no-confidence motion while accusing Jagan of indulging in politics of surrender, Naidu told the Assembly that he would still support the no-confidence motion in the interests of Andhra Pradesh. But, he soon realised the strategic blunder in it and retreated from his stand.

The TDP has not only moved its own no-confidence motion, but, is now non committal on supporting the YSR Congress sponsored move.

Interestingly, the opposition YSR Congress agreed to support even the TDP sponsored motion. However, senior leader of TDP, Kambhampati Ram Mohan Rao refused to give any commitment when he was pinned down by this author in a television debate on whether or not the TDP would also support YSR Congress moved motion. Such a diabolical stand is despite Naidu himself announcing that his party would not even hesitate to support the Jagan’s motion.

This indicates a sudden and swift change in the TDP strategy after realising that it lagged behind in the politics of no-confidence.

In fact, the TDP was also caught on the wrong foot even on the question of special status when it disowned the demand and accepted Centre’s offer of special package in lieu of special status.

Chandrababu Naidu is using his political clout to rally more support than what the YSR congress MPs could mobilise. The TDP has two additional advantages. It has more strength than the YSR Congress in Lok Sabha. The TDP left the NDA and thus became cynosure of national politics. Besides, the TDP supremo was instrumental in heralding United Front government at the Centre. He has worked with most of the regional and smaller parties in both United Front and National Front. He also has rapport with several NDA allies of BJP as he was the lifeline of Vajpayee government. Taking advantage of his political contacts, Naidu swiftly moved to frustrate YSR Congress and take a lead in the political chess around no-confidence. The BJP is also concentrating its attack on TDP giving latter additional advantage to dominate the no-confidence discourse.

Thus, despite several political somersaults and initial strategic deficits, Chandrababu Naidu could plunge into action on Friday in an obvious bid to control the damage.

TRS ‘jhalak’ to TDP & YSRCP on No-Confidence Motion

1

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) gave a shock to TDP and YSRCP in the parliament. Speaking in the Lok Sabha, TRS MP Jithender Reddy made it clear that the TRS party has no relation whatsoever, with respect to the no-confidence motion, the TDP and YSRCP are trying to move in the Lok Sabha.

‘We want to make our stance very clear. TRS party will only fight for the fulfilment of various commitments stated in the AP Reorganization Act 2014 (aka AP Bifurcation Act 2014).

The Central Government is cheating both the Telugu States. There is absolutely nothing that the Centre has done specially for the state of Telangana. Telangana CM (and TRS President) KCR’s ‘Federal Front’ is bound to bring a revolution in politics. Post the results of the Karnataka Assembly elections, the facet of Indian politics will completely change,’ said TRS MP Jithender Reddy.

TRS MP, Jithender Reddy’s comments left TDP and YSRCP in a state of shock. Everyone expected that TRS will publicly support the No-confidence move by TDP and YSRCP. These comments dashed the hopes of the TDP and YSRCP.
