Thalaivar173 has been in the news for several wrong reasons right from the day the film was announced. The film marks the collaboration of Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan. Sundar C was replaced by Cibi Chakravarthi and he also walked out of the film. Young director Ashwath Marimuthu impressed Rajinikanth with the script and the pre-production work is happening at a faster pace. The shoot commences next month.

As per the latest update, Rajinikanth will be seen essaying the role of a doctor in the film and his look is uniquely designed. A photoshoot was conducted on Rajinikanth and his look is finalized. The makers are expected to unveil the look before the shoot commences. The team is finalizing the actors and the key technicians are finalized. A massive set is currently constructed in Poonamallee. Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International will produce this prestigious project. Thalaivar173 is aimed for Sankranthi 2027 release.
