Mirai is one of the biggest hits in Telugu in the recent times. The VFX work, visuals, background score and the narration are quite impressive. Teja Sajja scored one more super hit with the film and the makers have announced a sequel. Rana Daggubati is hinted to essay the role of the lead antagonist in Mirai 2 and Karthik Gattamaneni will direct the project. The shooting formalities will commence in 2027 as per the update and Karthik will work on the script and he will spend ample time on the pre-production work.

Mirai 2 will have a theatrical release in the year 2028 and the exact date of the release will be announced by the makers after the shoot commences. Meanwhile, Teja Sajja will wrap up the shoots of Zombie Reddy 2 and Jai Hanuman which are planned on big budgets. Mirai 2 will be produced by People Media Factory and the core technical team will be repeated for the film. More details are expected to be announced soon.
