Why no other party supported YSR CP bandh today?

YSRCP chief Jagan announced couple of days back, that their party will observe state wide bandh this Tuesday to pressurise TDP members of parliament to resign from their posts in order to pressurise Union to grant special category status to AP. Bandh started this morning as several leaders of YSR CP demonstrated their strength and gathered crowds. There have been house arrest of some ysrcp leaders and even arrests of second grade leaders who are protesting on the roads.

However this time no other party supported bandh lead by YSR CP. It is obvious that ruling party will always oppose these kind of strikes no matter which party is in ruling. So, obviously TDP is opposing this Strike. But usually all other political parties except the ruling party support these kind of strikes. In last 4 years there have been several instances when Congress , CPI and CPM supported the demonstrations led by YSR CP. It seems CPI and CPM intentionally backed out this time.

As per communist leaders there are two reasons for not supporting YSR CP bandh today. First , Jagan has unilaterally announced bandh without consulting communist leaders or without even giving them hint of it. Second reason is , even though communist parties have been supporting strikes led by YSR CP in last 4 years, Jagan and other ysrcp leaders are not giving them any due credit and always saying it is only YSR CP that is fighting for special category status in the state. Miffed with this kind of behaviour from YSR CP, this time communist leaders stayed away from YSRCP strike.

Janasena leaders also did not participate in the strike today as there has been no call from Pawan Kalyan to support this Strike. However janasena General Secretary and 99 TV owner Thota Chandrasekhar announced that Pawan Kalyan will postpone his tour by one day so that Pawan store will not disrupt YSR CP band.

Anyway, this will be one more bandh in the state, as no other outcome is expected from this Bandh.
