BRS party president and former Telangana Chief Minister KCR seems to have decided not to give any chance to his political opponents over the allegations of Kaleswaram Project. It is a known fact that the Congress government in Telangana formed a commission under retired judge PC Goshe to probe into the alleged irregularities in construction of the multi-crore Lift Irrigation project following damages at Medigadda, Annaram and Sundilla barrages.
The commission has issued summons to then CM KCR, Irrigation Minister Harish Rao and Finance Minister Eetela Rajendra to attend for inquiry on different dates in the first week of June. BRS party has flayed the ruling government for resorting to political vendetta against KCR and his family. Last week, KTR slammed the government over these allegations and said such notices would not impact the image of BRS and integrity of KCR.
Given the reputation of KCR, political analysts believed that he wouldn’t attend the inquiry and might take a legal course to counter the summons. But, it looks like KCR has got other plans.
As per the latest reports, KCR has decided to attend before the commission on June 5th and give statements on the objections raised by it. Sources close to BRS revealed that KCR wanted to send a strong message to the public that he is ready to face any inquiry regarding any aspect relating to his ten year tenure as Chief Minister.
As the Congress party is going all out to prove that KCR and his ministers have benefitted from the Kaleswaram Project by receiving kickbacks, the former Chief Minister appears to have decided not to give any opportunity for his opponents. KCR knows that the Congress has been trying desperately to prove that many irregularities were committed at the behest of the previous government. So, he has decided to attend the inquiry and put an end to the malafide campaign until the final report comes from the commission.
