Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party supremo Chandrababu Naidu took a serious note of the recent happenings in which a few MLAs and some leaders of his party triggered public outrage with their irresponsible behaviour and unnecessary remarks. Expressing deep disappointment with the recent controversies involving three MLAs which damaged the party image, Naidu called for a detailed inquiry from the disciplinary committee for taking further action on these issues.
Chandrababu held a Teleconference on Sunday evening with party leaders during which he issued a stern warning against those who are crossing the line with their misconduct and turning out to be a big headache to the party. As per reports, Naidu is said to have fumed heavily over the recent incidents involving three TDP MLAs and warned against any indiscipline from public representatives and party leaders.
Party sources revealed that Naidu has reacted strongly over allegations on Amudalavalasa MLA Kuna Ravi Kumar by a KGVB principal, sexual harrasment complaint on Guntur East MLA Naseer Ahmad and the controversy surrounding Anantapur Urban MLA regarding the alleged derogatory language against actor NTR. He is reportedly upset with the way party’s image is being tarnished due to these controversial incidents and called for a thorough inquiry into them immediately for taking disciplinary action.
Chandrababu also said to have warned the cadre and MLAs against creating internal friction within the party through infighting and group politics. He also called for a strong reply from the party over the vicious campaign launched by the Opposition over the government related activities. He exhorted the MLAs and supporters to hit out at the fake allegations and enlighten the public immediately.
The recent controversies involving three MLAs stems from viral audio and video leaks which created a huge furore on the social media. While Kuna Ravi Kumar is embroiled in a harassment complaint made by a KGVB principal, Nasser Ahmad has been facing allegations of extra marital affair with a woman party leader. On Sunday morning, the alleged audio conversation between Anantapur Urban MLA Daggupati Prasad and NTR’s fans association leader over ‘War 2’ has turned into a huge controversy.
It remains to be seen what disciplinary action will be taken against these MLAs if any of these allegations turn out to be true in the next few days.
