Legendary Malayalam actor Mohan Lal has been conferred with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award by the Union Government of India on Friday. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced that Mohan Lal has been chosen for this coveted honour for the year 2023. The award will be presented to the actor on September 23rd at the 71st National Film Awards ceremony. Last year, veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty received this honour.
Mohan Lal is the second Malayali film icon to receive this rare honour after the legendary auteur Adoor Gopalakrishnan.
