Pawan Kalyan tweets on #APDemandsSpecialStatus

Chandrababu Naidu signed the dotted line by accepting special package instead of Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh. He played the victim card so well that the issue almost took a back seat. The Jallikattu protests in Tamil Nadu prepared the ground for the Andhra Pradesh youth who are determined to revive the SCS demand.

Pawan Kalyan time and again brought up the SCS issue and looks like his continuous rant plus the Jallikattu protests together led the youth go through many nitty-gritty details of SCS. The actor with his tweets decided to fan the flames while the youngsters are preparing for silent protests.

In his latest tweet, the Jana Sena chief urged the “Youth of AP” to raise their voice through peaceful protests to achieve the promised “SCS”. The social media campaign started by the youth with the hash tag #APDemandsSpecialStatus has been lacking support from prominent personalities. The number of actors who came in support for SCS can be counted on fingers of a single hand. Jana Sena’s support comes as a huge relief to the silent protest to be conducted at RK beach in Vizag.

Andhra Pradesh has been discriminated by the central government, making Polavaram a national project alone doesn’t suffice while depriving Vishaka Railway Zone and the SCS. Pawan Kalyan called the political class as spineless and lacking self-respect. In another tweet, Pawan Kalyan termed the politicians at center as “Snobbish leadership of North India”.

The people are not against North India or leaders but the government which is showing prejudice only to AP in giving the SCS. Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad are in South and the politicians are aware that South is not just about Madrasis. It is the Tollywood industry for whom being Madrasi is more important than fighting for their region.Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the actor as Pawan Kalyan and telugu people not Madrasi. So reiterating Junior NTR’s Madrasi dialog from the movie Andhrawala can cause trouble, especially the kind created during Kaveri river water sharing. Some dialogs sound better on the silver screen than in politics. Pawan Kalyan should shun away from preaching differences or dominance in name of region.

It would be better if he unites with elites like Jaya Prakash Narayana of Lok satta who have been talking sense about SCS. As a citizen we first represent with country we belong to and Mahatma is not father of North India, he is father of the Nation. Pawan Kalyan should realise that the youth trending #APDemandsSpecialStatus are planning to protest in Gandhian way.
