K. T. Rama Rao and K. Kavitha, once seen walking in the footsteps of their father K. Chandrashekar Rao, are now seen competing for the legacy of the pink flag. At the centre of this emerging rivalry is the TRS brand name, which still carries strong emotional value among Telangana voters.
There is a growing belief within party circles that the shift from TRS to Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) diluted the party’s identity. KTR has openly admitted that the name change has hurt the party’s connection with people. He has hinted at a possible return to the TRS identity as part of a strategy to regain lost ground and rebuild the party’s core base.
At the same time, Kavitha has sparked fresh debate by suggesting that the TRS name is open for use. Her remarks indicate a clear intent to reclaim the brand with a new agenda. She is expected to focus on grassroots outreach and reconnect with key voter groups, especially women and those aligned with Telangana sentiment.
Both leaders are also preparing for separate padayatras, which is a direct competition for political space. The TRS name has now evolved into a political asset, and whoever claims it first may gain an upper hand.
