Adivi Sesh responds on his alleged wedding!!!

0

Adivi Sesh has finally responded to the rumours circulating about his impending marriage to Yarlagadda Supriya, niece of Tollywood star Nagarjuna. He stated that there is nothing in his life but films at this point in his life.

Supriya tried her career as a heroine in the movie ‘Akkada Ammai Ikkada Abbai’ starring Pawan Kalyan. With the failure of that film, Supriya started helping her uncle Nagarjuna with Annapurna Studios Production work. Recently, she played a key role in Adivi Sesh’s latest film ‘Goodachari’ in 2018. It is rumoured that the couple fell in love on the movie set and are about to get married.

Putting a check to these rumours, Adivi Seshu twitted his response on his Twitter account. His tweet says, “Guys n Gals, the only big thing happening in my life right now is movies, acting and writing. Trying to live the dream by doing what I love. Trying to keep my head down and working hard. Keep doing my best and nothing else.” Even though he cleared the rumours, we can’t say whether the rumour mill stops churning.

I’ll be working on my debut Bollywood film in 2019: Adivi Sesh

0

Telugu star-actor Adivi Sesh, who shot to super-stardom with the thriller “Kshanam”, had a favourable year with “Goodachari” returning impressive box office numbers. He looks back and looks ahead.

It was your birthday on 16th December. How did you spend your big day?

It’s the first birthday I’ve gotten to spend with my parents in a long time. They’ve moved to India after living in the US for close to three decades. That’s my biggest accomplishment this year! More than ‘Goodachari’, convincing my parents to come live with me!

2018 was a watershed year for you how do you look at the progress you made this year?

The credibility that comes with the perception of success is something I cherish. I’ve lived with the idea of ‘Goodachari’ for fourteen years and the film itself was in the making for a little under two years. Of course, its always nice when a movie succeeds at the box office so beautifully. ‘Kshanam’ 2016, ‘Ami Tumi’ 2017, ‘Goodachari’ 2018…. each year, it’s been nice to be part a film that has done well. On a separate note, I don’t take success or failure too seriously.

Did you find it tough to break in and when you did was it tough to convince the industry about your language of expression?

It was tough to find the credibility to become a lead actor. That didn’t happen until late 2015. But as an actor, my big break came in 2011 with my second film, ‘Panjaa’. A lot of people in the trade told me that I became a leading man of sorts in 2015, and ‘Kshanam’ cemented that. I never took all that too seriously anyway. I always thought that growing up in different countries would’ve been my asset. And it has been, when writing a story. As a person living here, I’ve always felt like a square peg in a round hole. I still do.

Goodachari was a smash did you expect it to be such a success?

It’s become my career’s biggest hit and I’m very proud of the work we put in. I’d always hoped and dreamt that it would be a huge success. That’s exactly what happened. And now, a franchise is born. I couldn’t be happier.

‘Arjun Reddy’ , ‘Bahubali’, ‘Goodachari’… is Telugu cinema going through a process of radical genesis?

I feel that the new wave started sometime in 2014. People’s ideas started changing. The kinds of concepts being discussed in Hyderabad were a little different. ‘Baahubali’ was being made. For people to write these movies, start putting them together and release them, the public started seeing the fruit of that around 2015 or 2016. I’m proud to have been in Telugu cinema’s new wave with two of my films. ‘Kshanam’ and ‘Goodachari’.

For a big star like Ram Charan to agree to his character in ‘Rangasthalam’ is incredible, and speaks volumes about how creatively inclined the movie business has become, top to bottom. Commercially as well, the last few years have been phenomenal for the Telugu movie business and that is entirely because of ‘Baahubali’, it revived a culture of proud movie-going, for the Telugu people. What Bhangra is to Punjabis, cinema has become that – for the Telugu people. I’m Proud to be told that we are the most profitable movie business in India.

Your career changing film ‘Kshanam’ was made into Hindi as ‘Baaghi 2’ . What did you think of the remake?

To this day, I haven’t seen Baaghi 2. I haven’t gotten around to it, maybe because it’s not really mine. But I’m told by a lot of Telugu folk who’ve seen ‘Kshanam’, that ‘Baaghi 2’ isn’t their cup of tea. But then, Telugu audiences will always pick Mahesh(Babu) Sir’s ‘Pokhiri’ over Salman’s ‘Wanted’. They’ll always pick the original.

Regardless, I respect that ‘Baaghi 2’ has become so successful. It’s not that I’m being diplomatic about Baaghi 2. I just don’t feel anything personal toward it.

What are your plans vis-a-vis Bollywood? Or do you believe better to be the lion in your own jungle ?

I’ll be working on my debut Bollywood film in 2019. I’m quite proud of that project and will announce it in due course. I am essentially the product of my experience and my exposure isn’t limited to the Telugu states. I’d love to tell stories that are pan -Indian or even international.

Tell me about your forthcoming projects ?

I’m reuniting with the producer of ‘Kshanam’ for a pulpy thriller, it’s nice to just be an actor and do something exciting. ‘Goodachari 2’ is on the cards and so is an untitled war film. They’re ambitious films. G2 will be huge. We are working very hard to exceed the expectations of G1. We are currently working on the scripts of both G2 and the War film.

I’m not really looking toward direction as a career step. I intend on doing it sporadically whenever a story speaks to me in a way that I feel that I should be the only one that tells that story. Besides, I feel that I’m a better actor than director.

Goodachari Review – Gripping action thriller !

Goodachari 2018 review

Telugu360 Rating 3/5

Story:

An Indian national security operations team Trinetra’s agent Raghuveer dies in 1995 in a special operation. Fast forwarded to 2017, his son Gopi is passionate about serving the country in similar job. Despite 174 applications Gopi won’t be shortlisted to any agency. After being tested practically, Trinetra agency admits him into their secret group. Terrorists who eye on the agency, traps the information, assassinate the top brass of the organization. They frame Gopi responsible for these killings. Gopi who is on the run works to

  1. Find out the persons who assassined his bosses
  2. Find out who is the culprit behind the killing of his father

Analysis:

Widely touted as a spy thriller, Goodachari opens in a promising manner. Gopi (Adivi Sesh) ’s childhood episode establishes basis for his desire to join the security agencies. Later when he grows up, the scene in which secret agency tests his calibre is interesting. Once hired by Trinetra, the training phase scenes flow smooth. After training phase is completed, each agent has been deployed to different zones. Ex-heroine Supriya plays a key role as madam Nadiya. Ex-Miss India Shobita Dhulipala as Sameera plays a smaller but important role as Gopi’s girlfriend. The cat and mouse game between the terrorists and security agency continues to a final showdown interval block. There is an interesting twist here in the way villains frame Gopi. Overall, Goodachari’s first half has been dealt with grip. The director has set the right premise for the next half. Personal side of Gopi has been blended well with main theme (National security agency). However, once Gopi is on run, the tight screenplay goes haywire and plot dilutes. Instead of being a spy mission, Goodachari’s theme narrows down to mere ‘on the run fugitive’ story largely. There is a twist to cover up this, this fugitive has a doubled edged objective. One is to hide himself from police, same time find the culprits who killed his bosses. Climax twists and closing shot are good and saving grace for second half. Closing shot raises the curtains for Goodachari – 2

Due to budget constraints, the large canvas story doesn’t get adequate production values. However, the director Shashi Kiran Tikka and his technical team must be appreciated for delivering decent output with limited budget. Background score by sricharan pakala is very good. Editing is excellent in this film, cinematography by Shaneil is good as well.

On flip side, India’s #1 secret agency operating from a disguised tailor shop, terrorists keeping an eye on the #1 agency’s office with so ease and grabbing all the information they require through their insiders doesn’t sound logical, and the main villain (Name kept secret as per makers’ wish) thread is in-convincing.

Performances:

Adivi Sesh as a secret services agent is classy looks wise, he performed well. Shobita Dhulipala as Gopi’s girl friend is just ok. Supriya got a lengthy role. Anish Kuruvilla, Prakash Raj played senior agents’ roles, they are adequate.

Positives:

  • Gripping first half
  • Engaging narration and Twists
  • Slick action episodes
  • Climax

Negatives:

  • Budget constraints
  • Second half graph goes down

Verdict :

Goodachari is a well-made action film blended with father-son sentiment. This film is more like a crime investigation genre film disguised as a Spy Thriller. It starts off on a bigger canvas, as progress, pushes itself to a smaller canvas. Nonetheless ‘Goodachari’ is an appreciable effort on Telugu screen, on return on investment basis, we have a winner at box-office!

This young actor rejected 50 Scripts

0

Young actor Adivi Sesh shot fame with Kshanam and the actor even penned the script of the action thriller. Right after two years, he is making his comeback with Goodachari which is a crime thriller tipped with action. Sesh during his recent interview revealed that he has rejected over 50 scripts over these years after the release of Kshanam. People felt that he is quite arrogant but he wanted an out of the box film to thrill the audience.

“It turned out quite tough to bring audience back to theatres. There are rare films that have to be watched on big screen. Goodachari is one such film and it will not disappoint the audience. Digital platforms like Amazon, Netflix changed out the mood of the audience and they are comfortable watching films at home” said Sesh.

Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, Goodachari features Adivi Sesh, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prakash Raj and Supriya Yarlagadda in the lead roles. The film is hitting the screens tomorrow.

Adivi Sesh’s Goodachari gets ‘Akkineni’ support

0

Writer – actor Adivi Sesh’s latest film Goodachari, a spy thriller directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, is gearing up for release soon.

Recently, the first trailer of the film has been unveiled by Samantha Akkineni in Hyderabad. The response for the gripping trailer is unanimously positive and what is more encouraging for ‘Goodachari’ team is that they are good support from Akkineni family. The reason behind this is Nagarjuna’s niece Supriya Yarlagadda who is making a comeback to silver screen after nearly two decades.

Supriya, who made her debut with Pawan Kalyan’s Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi, is playing a meaty role which carries the film’s narrative forward.

Supriya’s presence in the film is one of the reasons why Samantha graced the trailer release event. Also, Nagarjuna and Akhil took to Twitter to praise the trailer. Sources say that Akkineni stars will promote the film big time ahead of its release.

Ami Tumi Review : Non-Stop fun

Ami Tumi Review rating

TELUGU360 RATING : 3/5

Ami Tumi telugu movie Review

Director Indraganti Mohan Krishna, who bagged a decent hit with Nani’s Gentleman last year, is now coming up with a screwball comedy ‘Ami Tumi’ which stars Adivi Sesh , Avasarala Srinivas and Eesha in the lead roles. The hilarious trailers of the film have drawn the attention of audience and Mani Sharma’s tunes have already become a talking point.
Let’s see if the film can strike the right chord with the audience or not ?
Story ( Spoiler Free) :

Ami Thumi is a situational comedy film based on the story of two pairs of lovers. Deepika (Eesha) and Ananth (Adivi Sesh) are the first lead pair while Maya (Aditi) and Vijay (Avasarala Srinivas) is the other. The fun begins when a super catalyst character Sri Chilipi (Vennela Kishore) meets these four characters. As their families oppose the love, the two lead pairs plan to elope and in the process, Deepika tricks Sri Chilipi and seeks help from him. Rest of the story is how Sri helps them succeed.

Performances:

Adivi Sesh as Ananth, Avasarala Srinivas as Vijay are adequate in male lead roles. Though technically these two guys are heroes, the show stealer is Vennela Kishore as Sri Chilipi. Kishore got author backed lengthy role which he nailed. Ami Thumi is undoubtedly Vennela Kishore’s career best performance.

Eesha has ease in acting and gave good performance. Another heroine, Aditi Myakal, of Posh Poris fame is weak link in the film. Tanikella Bharani who is known for controlled performance did too much of over-action in this film. Audience get annoyed by him in most of the scenes.

Analysis:

Indraganti who debuted with the National Film Award-winning ‘Grahanam’ and shined with ‘Ashta Chemma’ , ‘Gentleman’ is back again with comedy theme and succeeded to an extent. The film opens in sluggish manner as director takes time to establish the characters. Upon Vennela Kishore character arrival then movie picks up pace. Pre-Interval scene between Deepika’s maid and Vennela Kishore is laughing riot. Vennela Kishore overshadows all other characters in the first half. A point to be noted is that there are no songs in first half of the film. Post interval too, Kishore’s domination on the screen continues and movie runs smoothly without any boring moments. In the trailer, a particular scene gives us an impression that story might contain a gay thread but there is no such thread, except for just one comedy scene. The entire movie is clean comedy.

As per the story a major portion, almost 90 percent of ‘Ami Thumi’ has been filmed in just two locations Sheraton hotel suite and at Thanikella Bharani’s house. It is herculean task to engage audience if the film has limited production cost and restricted location span. However, PG Vinda’s cinematography and Indraganti’s stylish shots covers up the low budget. The overall look is stylish and classy.

Biggest complaint with this genre- is though the content is watchable, they don’t give masses a full cinematic experience. One reason being the less than 2-hour duration run, and the second partially due to the low production values.

Dialogues written by director himself are witty. Ensure to pay attention as they flow fast in the scene. Indraganti has his own style of wit. Second half contains couple of situational songs. Overall, Ami Thumi is a time pass product !

Positives :

-Vennela Kishore’s one man show
-Witty dialogues
-Background score
-Telangana dialect of lead characters

Negatives :

– ‘Making some one Bakara’ type comedy is predictable at times
– Overaction of character artists including Thanikella Bharani is irritating
– No good songs
– Srinivas Avasarala is under utilised

Verdict:

Ami Thumi is a onetime watch. Don’t try to find logics and just enjoy Indraganti’s directorial situational comedy. For its minimum budget, there are good chances it recovers the cost from A centres.

TELUGU360 RATING : 3/5

Release Date : 9th June, 2017

Starring Adivi Sesh and Avasarala Srinivas in the lead roles, the film has Eesha and Aditi Myakal as the female leads. The entire shooting has been wrapped up in a just 31 days.

Touted to be a romantic comedy, the film features, Adivi Sesh, Srinivas Avasarala and Vennela Kishore in the lead roles.
