Stylish Star Allu Arjun’s Sarrainodu is one of the eagerly awaited films this summer. Directed by Mr. Boyapati Srinu, the film features Rakul Preet Singh and Catherine Tresa as the female leads. Produced by Allu Aravind on a spectacularly high budget, Sarrainodu created a huge buzz in the trade circles with solid pre-release business in all areas. Let us see how this movie has shaped up.

Story (Spoiler-Free) :

Gana (Allu Arjun), a member of the State Chief Secretary’s family, is a military veteran living in Hyderabad. Gana thinks it is funny to flirt with Hanshita Reddy (Catherine Tresa), an MLA. Meanwhile near Khammam, the Chief Minister’s son Vairam Dhanush ( Aadi Pinisetty), establishes a ruthless mafia specializing in land grabbing, rape and murder. Saikumar, a friend of State Chief Secretary, lives in this terror ridden area with his daughter Rakul Preet Singh. A land grabbing incident triggers rivalry between Saikumar and Vairam Dhanush. The consequences of this fight and how it makes Gana the person to make things right, make up the rest of the story.

What worked well ?

Firstly, in spite of the trailers depicting the movie as an out and out mass entertainer, the movie has some decent family attracting elements as well, especially in the first half. The director took time to well establish the characters in the initial phase of the movie. Allu Arjun’s role has three dimensions to it: a family member, a lover and an action hero. With a total body language make over, he excelled in every aspect of this role making him sarrainodu for the role. In spite of the script lending to more than life characterization, Arjun made sure to keep his acting subtle – directly resulting in very good performance. Arjun’s performance deserves a special mention during the court scene in the first half of the movie.

Coming to the rest of the cast, Aadi Pinisetty was perfect for the villain role, stylish and ruthless. Brahmanandam, who has failed to evoke much laughter in the recent times, did not fail too bad this time. Vidyullata Raman’s role as a tamil lady, was funny – a little bit. Rakul Preet Singh could have done better in a meatier role, she certainly has the talent and the glamor.

Well composed fights, though a couple of them could have done better, had proper emotions been built into the scenes leading to them. At the same time, it could be said that by leveraging Allu Arjun’s super macho looks, the fights had a raw feel to them. For you fitness freaks, Allu Arjun with his perfectly toned biceps, is a treat to watch.

The second half of the film, with a lengthy comedy sequence featuring Pradeep Rawat and 30 years industry experience Prudhvi was well featured.

Songs are OK, a couple them looked great onscreen: “This is a private party”, “Block BusterE”

What should have been better ?

Songs – Allu Arjun’s movies usually do well in the music department, this time no so much The songs are pretty ordinary, except for the two mentioned earlier. The script has many loose ends and is slow at times, not a working formula with the audience today.

The single point confrontation in the second half, lacked the elements to make it right and it just fizzled out. Additionally the back to back action scenes in the last 30 minutes of the movie, may not connect with the mass audience.

Verdict :

Allu Arjun, who is on top gear with back to back hits like Race Gurram , S/O Satya murthy , may not be able to work his magic this time round. While other mass heroes are trying to cater more to overseas and urbane audience in India, surprisingly, Allu Arjun has done this violent filled action movie which may not go well with these audiences. However, there is still hope for the movie this summer, thanks to due to Allu Arjun’s stardom. So should you watch this movie? – Hmm, yeah, may be for Allu Arjun’s performance, if you have time to spare.

As promised by its makers, the first look teaser of Stylish star Allu Arjun’s Sarrainodu has been unveiled today evening. The 30 second short teaser glimpses what’s in store for the audience after the film’s release.

As expected, Boyapati Srinu has designed an out and out mass character for Bunny in this film. The teaser is packed with the director’s trademark action visuals and a powerful dialogue. It looks like Allu Arjun’s stylish makeover is going to be the major asset for this action drama. The power-packed teaser has been complimented very well by the stupendous background score given by SS Thaman. The teaser is now the talk of the town and has already started to trend in all social networking platforms.

The shooting is on the brink of completion and the makers are planning to release the film in Summer. The audio launch will take place in the next month. Rakul Preet Singh and Catherine Teresa are the female leads. Allu Aravind is producing the on Geetha Arts banner.

Lavish set erected for Sarrainodu

Stylish star Allu Arjun’s forthcoming action drama Sarrainodu is in the last leg of its shoot. The film is slated to hit the screens in Summer and the shooting is progressing non stop from the past few weeks. Boyapati Srinu is the director for the film.

Currently a song featuring Allu Arjun and Catherine Teresa is being shot in Hyderabad. A lavish set worth 1.5 Crores has been erected in Annapurna Studios and the song will be shot for a period of 5 days. It is learnt that this song, which features 300 dancers, will be a visual treat for the audience. Popular Bollywood choreographers duo Bosco Caeser are composing the dance moves for this song.

Rakul Preet Singh is the other female lead and veteran actor Srikanth and young hero Adhi Pinisetty are essaying crucial roles in this film. Allu Aravind is producing the film on Geetha Arts banner. SS Thaman is scoring the soundtrack and the first teaser will be out tomorrow.

Star actor to unveil the audio of Kumari 21F

Sources close to the unit revealed that Allu Arjun will be seen as a powerful cop in the film. Catherine Tresa will be seen as an MLA and Rakul Preet Singh will be seen as Allu Arjun’s romantic interest. The current schedule is happening in Hyderabad.

Veteran actor Srikanth is essaying a crucial role in the film which also features Adhi Pinisetty and Adarsh Balakrishna. SS Thaman is the music composer. The first look is likely to be unveiled on Dusheera.

Allu Arjun and Simbu in Gautham Menon’s multilingual ?

According to the latest buzz, ace filmmaker Gautham Menon is planning to direct a multilingual film which features Allu Arjun, Simbu and two other South Indian actors in the lead roles. It is learnt that the film is about four close friends who meet at a marriage and decide to go on a long trip.

Puneet Rajkumar and Fahadh Fasil are in talks to complete the casting coup. Sources close to the director said that the project is just in the early stages and more details about it will be announced very soon. If everything goes as planned, the film will go on floors once Gautham Menon wraps up his current bilingual with Naga Chaitanya and Simbu. The source added that Gautham Menon will produce Tamil and Malayalam version while Puneet might fund for the Kannada version. A popular Tollywood producer is likely to bankroll the Telugu version.

Gautham Menon is also going to team up with Ram Charan for a film which will be launched in mid 2016.

Allu Arjun thanks Telangana CM KCR

Telangana chief minister KCR has been generous to Telugu film industry ever since he assumed the chair of the CM. The Telangana government on Thursday decided to give tax exemption for Gunasekhar’s prestigious project Rudhramadevi.

Reacting to this kind gesture, Stylish star Allu Arjun who also plays a crucial role of Gona Gannareddy in the film thanked KCR on his twitter account.

“I Thank the Hon.CM of Telangana State KCR garu for being Generous by exempting the Entertainment Tax for Rudramadevi Movie”, the actor tweeted.

Produced by Gunasekhar himself, Anushka plays the lead character while Rana Daggubati plays male lead. Ilayaraja has composed music for the film which is set in the backdrop of Kakatiya dynasty. This epic is slated for a massive release today.

Gunasekhar’s much delayed 3D graphical extravaganza Rudrama Devi is postponed again. This Anushka starer was slated to release on September 4th 2015. Latest we hear is that the makers are forced to further postpone the film by atleast a week. Reasons for the delay are unclear. A source in the production unit reveals that the graphical work is yet to be finished and the makers are not confident about being ready for release by September 4th. Latest rumored release date is September 11th. Allu Arjun plays a very key role of Gona Ganna Reddy in this film. Gunasekhar is producing this film on his Guna Team Works banner.
