‘Krish is expecting credit for what he doesn’t even deserve’ : ‘Manikarnika’ producer

0

‘Manikarnika’ controversy is going on with strong comments between Director Krish and Kangana against each other.

Krish claims that he has shooted 70% of the movie, but Kangana took credit for the movie.

Many actors came up for director and Kangana both.

This time ‘Manikarnika’ movie producer Kamal jain took on to Kangana’s side saying that it’s the entire crew decision to give credits to Kangana, and it was his sole decision too. It is very shocking that Krish is trying to make controversy out of this only after the hit.

And then he made sensational comments, ‘Krish is expecting credits for which he doesn’t even deserve sadly’.

Kamal even suggested Krish, that why didn’t he chose the legal way is he is that sure and he prove himself.

He even appreciated Kangana for being stood by the film and also argued that Kangana didn’t do anything without production and creative teams consent.

Writer Vijayendra Prasad clarifies Krish – Kangana controversy

0

Entire India was mesmerized by the performance of Kangana Ranaut as ferocious queen Jhansi Lakshmi Bai in ‘Manikarnika’, played by lead actress Kangana Ranaut, for which she is appreciated by everyone for her hardwork.

Director Krish and Kangana are fighting over each other on online platforms and many interviews were released where they are seen making controversial statements against each other.

Many people from the industry came up for Krish. And many Bollywood beauties and sister came in rescue for Kangana.

These two are dexterous in their fields respectively. Kangana claims that she has completely directed the movie and only 30% of the movie is shooted by Krish.

Krish rejects the statement saying that only 10% in the first half and 20% in the second half, the remaining 30% are completed by Kangana.

Krish left the ‘ Manikarnika’ team due to sole clash with Kangana during the sets. Krish also made a statement that ‘Kangana is very self-centered’.

When asked about this Vijayendra Prasad, writer and screenplay director of ‘Manikarnika’ had came up telling that he has just gave the script for the movie and was not present mostly in the shoots. Krish and Kangana both would give many ideas on improvising the script. Both are equally creative.

‘Keeping aside all the controversies one should enjoy the success’, says Vijayendra Prasad.

Kangana’s sister satire on director Krish

0

Kangana’s Ranaut’s Manikarnika movie released on Republic Day and it is running well as of now. It is known news that director Krish started the project but he came out from the project after creative differences with Kangana and Kangana herself took over the direction later.

After the movie released, Krish opened up on the controversy and reiterated it is overall his film. He added, in the first half of Manikarnika, 20-25% film has been re-shot by Kangna Ranaut while in the 2nd half only 10% re-shot by her. He also commented that Kangana is very rude.

Kangana Ranaut’s sister responded on this sarcastically and told everyone knows he only directed and please cool down now and let Kangana enjoy the success of the movie. She tweeted, “@DirKrish chalo man liya you directed the whole film now please calm down, still Kangana is the leading face of the film let her enjoy this moment of her success and great appreciation, please leave her alone, we all believe you now please take a seat ”

Meanwhile Taran Adarsh tweeted that movie collected 42 crores in 3 days and movie is going good.

We will have to wait and see how Krish responds to this comments.

Art of deception happened with ‘Manikarnika’: Krish

0

Director Krish who remained silent till the release of ‘Manikarnika’ stated the art of deception happened with the film. Though Krish did not criticise Kangana and the makers, he actually disclosed what happened.

“We shot the film for about 109 days in Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Mumbai and Bikaner but overall I worked for about 400 days for the film. We wrapped up the shooting, post-production works too and that is when I signed ‘NTR’ biopic. When the first teaser released in October, the director’s label had only my name. But when the trailer was released in December, Kangana’s name was included second to mine. The whole thing changed after the release as I see my name after Kangana’s in the direction credits,” said Krish.

Regarding the same, Krish reportedly called on the producers of ‘Manikarnika’ and to his surprise they replied that it was Kangana’s call. He added that his morality and integrity of filmmaking were hurt by this act.

The director also found fault in Kangana’s action for the exit of actor Sonu Sood from the movie. “Sonu had no objections working with a female director or for the fact that Kangana. But his role was changed which he did not accept. He informed that if director Krish makes changes in his character that would be fine. So is the case with Atul Kulkarni’s role,” added Krish.

To be away from controversy and stuff, Krish said he refrained himself from speaking about the film even though media was continuously trying to get at least a single comment from him.

‘Manikarnika…’ producer in hospital

0

“Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi” producer Kamal Jain has been hospitalized in Mumbai, and an aide said on Sunday that he is suffering from throat and chest infection.

Vikesh Kumar, communication head at Jain’s production house Kairos Kontent Studios, denied that Jain was in a critical condition after reportedly suffering a paralytic stroke.

“He is okay. He is suffering from throat infection and chest infection. He took a lot of stress with all the ongoing work for the film. But the infection is under control now and he will get discharged from the hospital in two-three days,” Vikesh told IANS.

Asked about reports that Jain’s condition was critical, he said: “People say a lot of things. That’s not the case for sure.”

Jain also took to Twitter to share his disappointment of not being able to join his film’s team in promotional activities.

“Certainly not the best time to be in the hospital and not being able to be in the middle of hard work bearing fruits. Missing the team of ‘Manikarnika…’ — Kangana Ranaut, Prasoonji, Vijeyandraji, Shankar Ehsan Loy, Ankita, Mishti and others in the final leg of promotions,” he posted.

“I will be back as soon as possible, till then I’ll be with you in spirit and soul… Guys, we worked so hard for two years to realise this dream and to make ‘Manikarnika…’ the blockbuster it deserves to be made as. I hope we all get to enjoy the success of our collective dream, honesty and hard work,” added the producer.

“Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi” captures the life story of Rani Laxmibai. Kangana will be bringing her life alive on the big screen. Produced by Zee Studios in association with Jain and Nishant Pitti, the movie is slated to release on January 25.

Kangana has done no less a job than Krish: ‘Manikarnika’ writer

0

Veteran writer Vijayendra Prasad, who has worked on the “Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi” — the most controversial film of his career — says Kangana Ranaut, who stepped in to “complete” the film, did no less than what the movie’s initial director Krish did.

Excerpts from an interview:

So many controversies. Can we talk about them?

Sure, but let me be very honest, I will answer only if I can. Otherwise I won’t lie to you. What are the controversies?

Well first of all, the original director Krish was relieved of his duties and replaced by the film’s leading lady Kangana Ranaut?

I don’t think ‘relieved’ is the correct word. Krish wasn’t asked to go. The picture was started in June 2018 and was supposed to be released in August 2019. But because of the volume of shooting, the film got delayed. And Krish, who shares a very good relationship with Mr Balakrishna was committed to direct a film on the latter’s father NTR’s life after the original director for that project, Teja, could not do the film.

Krish had already done a big hit with Mr. Balakrishna. There was no way we could hold Krish back. We had to let him go. It was just 10-15 days of shooting left.

You’ve reshot only 10-15 days?

That was the original plan. But then Kangana thought some extra action scenes were needed and I concurred with her. She was right. The film looks so much more spectacular with those war scenes. Kangana just completed the film.

It is being said you are one of the causes for the rift between Kangana and Krish?

(laughs) Not at all. Absolutely not. To my knowledge, there is no rift between Kangana and Krish.

People say you are supportive of Kangana and not Krish in their conflict?

No, I am supportive of the movie. I haven’t taken sides at all. I’ve seen Krish has done a wonderful job of shooting the film. But I’d say Kangana has done no less a job than Krish. When I saw the rushes, I cannot differentiate between what Krish and Kangana have shot.

But Kangana has no experience in direction whereas Krish has a whole body of work behind him?

We saw her abilities on the sets and she has made active contribution to many of her films. Krish couldn’t direct the two biopics simultaneously. We couldn’t get a newcomer to complete our film. We had the option of waiting for Krish to finish the Balakrishna movie and then take up the shooting of ‘Manikarnika’ again. This would have meant a further delay.

Because no other director of repute would have stepped in to complete the film at that late stage, and Kangana has an aptitude for direction, so we chose her.

But how did you see that aptitude in her?

From the studio where she was shooting as an actor, from what the producers said. She was ably assisted by the entire team and she knew what was doing.

Have you seen the finished product?

Not yet.

No one in recent times has succeeded in making a film on Rani Laxmibai?

Sohrab Modi directed a remarkable film on the Rani in the past. In recent times, nobody. We’ve covered her entire life from birth to death in just two hours. I must add that I’ve a personal connection with this movie.

How so?

Manikarnika was the name the Rani Of Jhansi was given by her parents. It was changed after marriage according to Maharashtrian tradition. My own daughter’s name is Manikarnika. So I have a special fondness for that name.

After the release of the film, there may be many parents naming their daughters Manikarnika?

I hope so.

No one has pressurised us to change ‘Manikarnika’ release: Kangana Ranaut

0

Actress Kangana Ranaut, geared up for the release of her next film “Maniakarnika — The Queen of Jhansi” on the Republic Day weekend, has said no one has requested or pressurised the makers of her film to advance or delay the release of the film, which is clashing with late Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray’s biographical film “Thackeray” at the box office.

Kangana was interacting with the media at the music launch of “Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi”, along with film’s music composer Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, writer-lyricist Prasoon Joshi and other cast and crew members of the film here on Wednesday.

Earlier, “Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi”, “Why Cheat India” and “Thackeray” were scheduled to release on the Republic Day weekend, but the makers of “Why Cheat India” advanced their release to January 18 when makers of “Thackeray” requested them to do so.

Asked if “Manikarnika” makers faced any pressure from the “Thackeray” team to change the release date of her film, Kangana said: “We haven’t been approached by anyone who has requested or forced us either to prepone or postpone release of our film.

“We haven’t been pressurised by anyone, so we are very happy that we have got a sort of a big window to release our film on Republic Day weekend. I think two films can easily come on the same day and so far, nobody has pressurised us. It will be completely wrong to say that we have been approached or pressurised to do something that we didn’t want to do.”

Kangana plays the central character of Rani Laxmibai in the film. She has also directed a few portions of the film.

Sharing her experience of being a part of the film, Kangana said: “I am a very small part of this very big film. Until now, I have always worked in small films but this is actually my first big film… Not because of the budget, not because of the story. It is a big film because of the kind of artistes I am getting to work with.”

Praising the film’s music composers, Kangana said: “It’s my first film with Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy. What they have done for this film, I don’t think words can explain that. There are 7 to 8 songs in the film and each one is better than the other. We weren’t able to understand which song we should release first but I feel audience will have great time when they will listen to entire album.”

“Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi” will hit screens on January 25, while “Thackeray” will hit the screens on January 23, Bal Thackeray’s 93rd birth anniversary.

Rani Laxmibai was a visionary: Kangana Ranaut

0

Actress Kangana Ranaut says she values freedom because of Rani Laxmibai.

“I’ve grown up listening to Rani Laxmibai’s legend and folklore like all of us but at the same time I did not know the intensity of her life. Her youth had gone in battling the enemy and preparing the regular people to become warriors,” Kangana said in a statement to IANS.

“What was unknown about her life is that she fought for many things that are acceptable today like adoption and women empowerment. She was completely against untouchability and she neither believed in caste system. She was a Brahmin who fought like Kshatriyas. She fought against Bargad Pratha, Parda system, caste system and untouchability. She fought for all these things relentlessly and conquered all those.

“She was a visionary and I value the freedom that we have because of her a lot more,” she added.

Directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi, “Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi”, which captures the life story of Rani Laxmibai, will release on January 25 next year. Kangana will be bringing her life alive on the big screen.

Shariq Patel, CEO, Zee Studios, also said: “It’s an honour to be able to salute her through our upcoming film ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’.”

To this, producer Kamal Jain added: “‘Manikarnika…’ is a heartfelt tribute to Rani Laxmibai, who gave birth to Indian independence, a hero who inspires generations even now.”

Is Krish completely disowning Manikarnika ?

0

Director Krish seems to be distancing himself completely from Manikarnika, a period film, starring Kangana Ranaut, based on the warrior princess Jhansi Lakshmi Bhai.

As Manikarnika was delayed inordinately, Krish moved on to his next film which is the prestigious NTR biopic in Telugu. There were reports that Krish would take break from NTR biopic and complete the patch work of Manikarnika. However, there are reports that Kangana Ranaut is overseeing the patch work as Krish is thoroughly involved in his Telugu project.

Now, according to sources, Krish has completely disowned Manikarnika and he might not take part in any of the film’s promotions. The teaser release event of the film will be held on Gandhi Jayanthi. But, Krish is likely to skip the event and he is mostly going to avoid promoting the film.

It would be interesting to see if Krish gets the direction credits in the titles or not as he directed major portion of the film.

Swati Semwal quits ‘Manikarnika’

0

Actress Swati Semwal says she has quit Kangana Ranaut’s “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi” as she was unsure if her role would have been substantial enough following Sonu Sood’s exit from the movie.

Swati was to be seen as Parvati, wife of Maratha Army commander-in chief Sadhashivrao Bhau, originally to be played by Sonu and now being essayed by Zeeshan Ayyub.

“I have quit the project. Earlier also I was not sure, I was in two minds, but a few days back, my team had a meeting and we decided to quit the project because I don’t think so at this point of time, this project is good for the career path that I am taking,” Swati told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

She said her decision was conveyed to the film’s team earlier this week.

The actress, last seen in films like “Bareilly Ki Barfi” and “Fanney Khan”, says the meeting was held as she wanted to know more about the project and about how her role was shaping up and what is it going to be.

“After the meeting, I realised that it was not so significant anymore. It was not what we signed for when I signed the film, so we decided to part ways,” she added.

Did Sonu’s walk-out from the project last month drive her decision to exit the historical biopic on Rani Laxmibai?

“Not really. At this point, whatever project I am signing for or even what I have done, whether it is ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ or ‘Fanney Khan’… Not that they were very big roles, but whatever was there, was pretty substantial.

“I’m looking for performance-oriented, substantial roles. I am not stuck on lead roles, but whatever I have to do, I want it to be substantial enough and even ‘Manikarnika’ had a pretty strong character. But now I don’t think so it’s the same anymore,” Swati said.

For Swati, the alarm bells rang as while Sonu was required to dedicate almost three months, Zeeshan’s requirement was much less.

“My work would have definitely reduced. Thinking about that, we decided we should not take this up again. Now, I don’t know whether the writers, Kangana or producer took this decision, but I am sure whatever they are doing, they are doing in the best interest for the film.

“Everyone wants the film to go ahead and do well. From my side, I have no bad feelings or a a bitter taste. One has to do what one has do. I am doing what I have to do for my career. And they have to do what they have to do for the film,” added Swati.

Director Krish was helming the movie, but as he got busy with his other film, Kangana stepped in to direct the patchwork of “Manikarnika”.

While Sonu left the movie owing to his professional commitment towards “Simmba”, Kangana claimed he left the movie as he “refused to work under a woman director”.

Produced by Zee Studios and Kamal Jain, “Manikarnika” is slated to release on January 25, 2019.

Shocking: Manikarnika Budget Doubled

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi carried huge expectations during its launch. The film got enormous craze after director Krish and Bollywood beauty Kangana Ranaut stepped in. However as time progressed, the film landed into a series of controversies which left the makers in pain. The makers planned the film on a budget of Rs 60 crores but now the film’s budget crossed Rs 125 crores.

Krish walked out of the film after he turned busy with NTR. Kangana is reportedly directing the movie currently. It was ten days patch work left but Kangana has been shooting for the film from the past 45 days. Kangana felt that some of the episodes related to Rani Laxmibhai’s marriage and about her first child have not been narrated well. With Sonu Sood’s exit, all those episodes too are being canned again.

The makers with nothing much to do are spending as per the request to wrap up the shoot first. Manikarnika has been announced for January 25th 2019 release and will have enough dose of VFX work. The film will release in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil languages.

Kangana hasn’t hijacked ‘Manikarnika…’: Producer

0

Actress Kangana Ranaut was considered the best person to take over the mantle to complete patchwork and to direct a few additional scenes for “Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi”, when director Krish moved on to his new film, says producer Kamal Jain.

The movie has been in the midst of a controversy ever since the news of Kangana stepping in behind the camera for it emerged.

Clearing speculations about the film, Jain said in a statement: “The additional shoot of the film is presently underway at ND Studios at Karjat, near Mumbai. After the last schedule was over, we saw the line-up of the film. On seeing it, we decided that apart from the patchwork, we also needed a few additional scenes.

“Once the scenes were written, we approached Kangana for additional dates. But Krish had moved on to his next project by then. Given how driven and creatively involved Kangana has been on this project since its inception, we realised she would be the best person to take over the mantle.

“Hence, there is no hijacking of the project. Whatever decisions are being taken are with the full support of the producer and the studio.”

Jain said they have an aggressive production schedule planned as they are committed to releasing the film on January 25, 2019.

Actor Sonu Sood has walked out of the film owing to his professional commitment towards “Simmba”. However, Kangana hit back at him, claiming he left the movie as he “refused to work under a woman director”.

On his part, Sonu has denied this.

Jain explained: “While we managed to get matching dates from Danny Denzongpa, Jishu Sengupta, Ankita Lokhande and others, we got stuck on Sonu’s combination dates and continuity look as he has grown a beard for ‘Simmba’.

“Hence, we had to let him go. Zeeshan Ayub now plays the character of Sadashiv”.

Sonu quits ‘Manikarnika…’; Kangana blames male chauvinism

0

Actor Sonu Sood has walked out of ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ owing to his professional commitment towards ‘Simmba’. But Kangana Ranaut, the leading lady of the film, has claimed that he left the movie as he “refused to work under a woman director”.

With Krish being busy with his other film, Kangana has stepped in to direct the patchwork of “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi”, which tells the story of Rani Laxmibai.

Sonu, who plays a grey character in Rohit Shetty’s “Simmba”, has grown a beard as part of his looks and is busy shooting the film. But the actor was supposed to have been clean shaven like a warrior in “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi”, backed by Zee Studios and producer Kamal Jain.

It was reported that the makers of ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ will tweak the script of the historical biopic because of his new looks for the film “Simmba”. But the plan didn’t work.

“Inconveniencing the team of his current film, to accommodate the demands of another, are against his professional principles. Sonu has taken the higher road ahead and wishes the team of ‘Manikarnika…’ all the best,” Sonu’s spokesperson said in a statement.

Kangana has claimed that Sonu “didn’t even give us tentative dates to match combinations with other actors”.

“He refused to meet me… He refused to work under a woman director. Even though the team suggested that they have full faith in me, it seems, Sonu had neither dates nor faith,” Kangana said.

The actress also said that Sonu decided to incorporate a few ‘kushti’ scenes which were never there in the script.

“He wanted the producers to retain the kushti portions as he made the body for it for four months. How did I know that is happening behind my back? When writers saw the film, they said they don’t want it,” he said.

According to a source close to Sonu, a major reason behind Sonu’s exit from the film is Kangana’s unprofessional attitude and false claims.

“Sonu has never had any problems with anyone in his almost two decade-long career. Sonu has previously worked with the woman filmmaker, Farah Khan. Also, Kangana claims that Sonu had shot the kushti scene behind her back, but surprisingly the director has to be present on the set to shoot a film and not just the actor,” added the source.

“Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi” is slated to release on January 25 next year.

Kamal Jain said: “Our team is totally focused and dedicated to finish the patchwork shoot to complete the film on time as our release date of January 25 is set in stone. The post-production and VFX is going on in full swing.”

Kamal also expressed his wish to work with Sonu again.

“With a heavy heart, we have mutually decided to part ways due to his date unavailability. He is a thorough professional. I would love to work with him again,” he said.

Sonu Sood walks out of Manikarnika after a drift with Kangana Ranaut

0

After director Krish turned busy with NTR, Kangana Ranaut herself has been helming Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi which is in final stages of shoot. Sonu Sood lost his cool on the sets after Kangana tried dominating him and instructing Sonu after which he walked out of the project. Sonu explained the situation and informed the makers that he is no more a part of the project.

There are talks that after Kangana took over the project, Sonu’s role has been cut down. The actor is playing the role of Sadashiv Rao in the film. The latest update is that Mohammed Zeeshan has been roped in as the replacement for Sonu Sood. The shoot of Manikarnika is going on fast pace and the makers once again clarified that the film will release on January 25th 2019. Zee Studios is producing Manikarnia which will release in Telugu, Hindi and Tamil languages.

‘Manikarnika…’ script tweaked because of Sonu’s new look

0

Actor Sonu Sood says the makers of “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi” have tweaked the script of the historical biopic because of his new look for the film “Simmba”.

Sonu will be seen playing a grey character in Rohit Shetty’s “Simmba”, and has grown a beard as part of his look. But the actor sports a clean shaven look in “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi”.

According to a source, Sonu has to shoot few scenes of “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi”. The makers of the film have come out with a way to adjust his new look in the narrative.

“I have to sport a beard for ‘Simmba’ and also simultaneously shoot for the patch work left for ‘Manikarnika…’,” Sonu said in a statement to IANS.

“To avoid any continuity problem, the makers of ‘Manikarnika…’ decided to tweak the script,” he added.

Directed by Krish, “Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi” tells story of Rani Laxmibai. Sonu will be seen as a warrior in the film, backed by Zee Studios and producer Kamal Jain.

“Since Sonu plays a warrior in the movie, his character would return after couple of years with beard to avoid continuity problem,” the source said.

“Manikarnika-The Queen of Jhansi”, also starring Kangana Ranaut, is slated to release on January 25, 2019.

Kangana not happy with Krish

Bollywood queen is all set to thrill the audience as warrior queen Rani Laxmibhai and the film has been titled Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.
