Rakul Preet preps up for a challenging role
Glam diva Rakul Preet Singh bagged a golden opportunity to essay the role of popular actress Sridevi in the prestigious biopic of NTR which is titled as Kathanayakudu. It is a known fact that NTR – Sridevi was one of the super hit combinations in those days. So, Krish wants to recreate some of the iconic scenes and songs in the first part of the biopic which focuses on NTR’s journey as actor.
Rakul Preet is soon going to join the sets to shoot for her portions. Reportedly, the Dhruva actress is prepping up with dedication to justify her casting in the iconic character. Rakul is watching Sridevi’s hit movies to get right the body language. She is also going to meet some of the family members of Sridevi before commencing the shoot.
Balakrishna is playing the role of NTR in this film which also features an ensemble cast. The first part is slated for release in Sankranthi.
Clever strategy by Krish for NTR biopic
Director Krish has a clever stratagem for the prestigious NTR biopic which chronicles the historical life of the legendary actor. Recently, it has been announced that the biopic, which was supposed to be a straight single film, is going to be a two part franchise : NTR Kathanayakudu and NTR Mahanayakudu.
After Krish came on board for this highly anticipated biopic, he reworked on the script and felt that depicting the glorious moments of the cinematic and the political life of NTR would need around four hours running time. In the present scenario, it might be difficult to keep audience hooked for such a long duration. Hence, Krish decided to make it as a two part franchise with crisp run time for both parts.
Reportedly, both parts will have less than 130 minutes running time. While the first part entirely focusses on his enviable career in Tollywood, the second one will glorify his stint as people’s leader.
By making it as a two part film, Krish has furthered the business prospects as well. As the project has been carrying heavy expectations in trade circles, the producers will easily recoup majority of their investment even before the first part of the film hits the screens.
NTR Kathanayakudu – Biopic Part 1
The first look of Nandamuri Balakrishna in and as ‘NTR’ released on Independence Day, got a terrific response with Balakrishna appearing as aged NTR in saffron costumes.
After a while the makers have revealed a fresh look of Balakrishna in which he is seen as a young and dynamic bandit. The poster carries another title too i.e, ‘Kathanayakudu’ and below to it, the makers have made it official about the release date on January 9th.
NTR in his span of over five decades has done many versatile roles and got audience appreciation. He redefined the stardom and protagonist craze and brought whole new meaning to heroism.
This poster will be a feast to the cult NTR fans while mass Balayya fans will rejoice the moment. Being directed by Krish, the film is being made in two parts. The second is titled as ‘NTR – Mahanayakudu.’

Much awaited biopic to be made in 2 parts ?
Biopics on filmstars and politicians are flavour of the season. Currently a biopic on iconic Telugu personality Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao is in the making. NTR’s son and actor Balakrishna is taking this project prestigiously and bankrolling it on a grand scale.
As expectations and buzz on this film are soaring high, Balakrishna and director Krish are planning to cash in on its craze. Reportedly, they are contemplating to make this film in two parts.
Krish was initially against making it as two parts and decided to showcase the entire life history of the legendary actor in a single part. But, as the story gives a detailed account of the political and cinema journey of NTR right from from hia teenage to his transition as Superstar in movies and later on as an inspiring politician, the makers are now planning to split it into two parts.
The first part is likely to focus on his personal life and movies and the second part will depict his political journey and other crucial moments till the end of his life. They are planning to release the first part for Sankranthi and the second part before when the election code of conduct comes into force in Andhra Pradesh.
As speculations are rife about this latest buzz, an official confirmation from the team is awaited to know about its authenticity.

In overseas, the film is carrying tremendous hype and trade circles are expecting a solid pre release business there.
According to the latest reports from reliable sources in Hyderabad, the overseas rights of NTR biopic have been snapped by a renowned NRI producer for an upwards of 10 Crores. Sources say that Krish and Balakrishna are planning to make this as a two part biopic to showcase the entire life of NTR to audience. So, just the first part rights are sold for more than 10 Crores.
This is a solid deal for a biopic and that too only for the first part means there is a good chance that both parts will surely fetch more than 20 Crores for the producer from overseas rights alone.
See a new Savitri in NTR biopic
Well then, actress Keerthy Suresh has impressed everyone with her lifetime of performance in the epic ‘Mahanati.’ Having won laurels from all quarters, the makers of ‘NTR’ biopic too planned to cast this Kerala beauty in the role of Savitri.
Seems like the producers gave a second thought and now Keerthy Suresh is heard to be replaced by one more Kerala beauty and she is none other than Nithya Menen. There are reports that Nithya has joined the shooting as well and scenes involving NBK and Nithya are being shot currently.
Sources say that Keerthy cited dates as issue and so she could not be part of this project. But she had missed a golden opportunity to be part of two significant personalities biopics who were adored by millions.

Also, the team has released a striking poster featuring reel NTR and ANR on the eve of ANR’s birth anniversary. In the poster, the legendary actors are seen sharing a’lighter’ moment in one of the scenes in the film. Both Balakrishna and Sumanth look very much similar to the iconic stars in this iconic moment.
It seems like Krish and his team are doing a phenomenal research to make this a memorable biopic in Tollywood with plenty of wow moments. Sources say that there are more surprises in store from Krish and his team.
Sumanth reprises ANR in NTR’s Biopic:
Talented filmmaker Krish went extra mile to take care of the looks of the lead actors in the prestigious NTR’s biopic. Balakrishna and Rana Daggubati surprised the audience with their transformation for the film as NTR and Nara Chandrababu Naidu. Now it is Sumanth who left the audience speechless with his stunning look as Akkineni Nageswara Rao in NTR.
On the eve of ANR’s birth anniversary, the makers unfolded ANR’s look from the film. Sumanth looks exactly the same as his grandfather right from the hair style to the glasses used. Sumanth even resembled ANR with his smile. Akkineni fans are extremely delighted with the released poster. Though there have been speculations that Nagarjuna will reprise his father, Sumanth got finalized for the role.

Sankranthi 2019 : Krish ahead of others
Sankranthi season is one of the most preferred windows by Telugu producers to release big ticket films. For next year and Sankranthi, audience are going to witness the release of three biggies in a span of one week. NTR biopic, Ram Charan – Boyapati film and F2 : Fun and Frustration are lined up for release as of now.
Out of these three biggies, it is director Krish and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ambitious project NTR which is racing ahead in terms of shooting and publicity. The film has already garnered huge attention ever since the team started releasing superb posters of the marquee characters in the story. Though there is ample time left for publicity, Krish and his team are well ahead in creating terrific buzz among audience. The buzz among trade circles is also very solid. Going by Krish’s working speed, the shooting formalities of NTR might be wrapped up ahead than other Sankranthi films.
On the other side, Ram Charan’s untitled film with Boyapati Srinu is yet to have its title and first look launch. Harikrishna’s role to be memorable in NTR

Nandamuri Kalyanram has been asked to reprise his father Nandamuri Harikrishna in the film who passed away recently in a tragic accident. Harikrishna’s role is said to be memorable one for Nandamuri fans and Kalyanram allotted bulk dates for the role.
He will be shooting for the film in September. Harikrishna played a pivotal role in NTR’s political journey and he was the one who drove ‘Annagari Chaitanya Radham’. All these episodes will have enough prominence in the film and Krish is now taking extra care to can those episodes. Nandamuri fans will sure connect well for the episodes of Harikrishna and he will be remembered through the role. Balakrishna too feels that this would be the best tribute for his brother. Kalyanram will be shooting for a month for NTR without breaks.

Varun Tej to enact Mega star Chiranjeevi role in prestigious biopic?
Ever since Krish took over the project, canvas of NTR biopic changed completely and newer and interesting news coming about the project each day. Latest news is that Varun Tej may play the role of Mega star Chiranjeevi in this movie.
NTR becoming CM and Chiranjeevi getting biggest blockbuster in his career happened in 1983 and later Chiranjevi went on to become Mega star in the industry and Chiranjeevi had good rapport with NTR. So, reportedly, Krish planning to include the role of Mega star in the biopic and he reportedly approached Varun Tej to enact the role of Mega star in the movie.
Krish and Varun Tej have good rapport and earlier Varun acted in Kanche, directed by Krish. However, as per reports, Varun wanted to get the consent from Chiranjeevi before he gives nod to this role.
