Will Sanchaita Gajapathi join YSRCP, fight Ashok?

1

Thanks to the AP High Court’s orders, Gajapathi royal clan’s TDP stalwart Ashok Gajapathi Raju has a reason to smile. The TDP is buoyed up. Though smarting under an adverse court verdict, the YSRCP is planning to hit back at the TDP. But, what about Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju, who was the chairperson of the Mansas Trust all these days?

She was picked from the confines of her Delhi socialite circuit and was paradropped in Vizianagaram. She was made the chairperson of the Trust. She had battled her powerful uncle and his family. She did not get any support from the local YSRCP. Though she belongs to the BJP, the saffron party did not back her. Despite all these, she managed to pull on and assert her authority. Post the AP High Court verdict, she is down in the dumps. Some have even gone to the extent of saying that Sanchaita will go back to Delhi.

But those in the know say that Sanchaita is made of sterner stuff. If sources are to be believed, she is now preparing to join the YSRCP and stay put in Vizianagaram district. She would work for the YSRCP and against the Ashok Gajapathi family. Even the top brass of the YSRCP are said to be quite positive about her.

Another interesting thing is that the three different groups in the YSRCP are said to be supporting Sanchaita. The YSRCP in Vizianagaram is divided into three groups – one led by Botsa Sattibabu, the second by deputy CM Pushpa Srivani and the third by Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy. All the three factions are reportedly backing her political entry.

So, if all goes well, Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju will play a more active role in Vizianagaram politics and would try to position herself as a counterfoil to the Gajapathis.

Sanchaita Gajapathi follows Jagan, shifting MANSAS office

2

Shiftings, cancellations, demolitions, etc have become common nowadays in Andhra Pradesh. Amaravati is technically located at a central point in the State but CM Jagan is shifting it in the name of decentralisation. Now, Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju is also following in the same direction.

All of a sudden, Sanchaita has ordered overnight shifting of the MANSAS office from the Maharajah Fort in Vizianagaram to Visakhapatnam. She has also instructed removal of most of the old office staff in order to make it completely filled with her own people. The executive officer is saying that the MANSAS office shifting is taken up as part of the drive for modernising the trust activities.

However, there are growing allegations that Sanchaita has taken this shifting decision only to escape from the rising protests from the local people in Vizianagaram district. The MANSAS colleges and institutions are a matter of emotion and prestige for the people there.

The latest decision gave rise to further suspicions that the YCP leaders were moving forward with their agenda to get full control over the multi-crore MANSAS properties. There have been allegations that Sanchaita is just a puppet brought by Vijay Sai Reddy to disturb and undermine MANSAS.

Sanchaita effect? Simhachalam Devasthanam EO seeks transfer

0

Nothing seems to be going well in the affairs of Simhachalam Devasthanam trust board ever since Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju assumed charge as its chairperson.
Ever since she took over the reins of the Simhachalam Devasthanam trust board, at least three Executive Officers have written to the Endowments Commissioner expressing their inability to work.
Barely a month after taking over as Executive Officer of Simhachalam Devasthanam, V Trinadha Rao has written to the endowments commissioner to relieve him from his duties. He reportedly cited pressure. Trinadha Rao took charge as EO of Simhachalam Devasthanam in September. Prior to Trinadha Rao, D Bhramaramba also wrote to the endowments commissioner to relieve her from her duties. Bhramaramba was the regional joint endowment commissioner of Rajamahendravaram before assuming office as executive officer of Sri Varahalakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at Simhachalam. She too did not serve as EO for more than two months. Bhramaramba reportedly had major differences with Sanchaita’s eccentric decisions.
Earlier, M Venkateswara Rao served as EO prior to Bhramaramba.
In the last six months, three EOs have written to the Endowments Commissioner requesting him to relieve them of their duties and sought transfers.
Controversies have been surrounding the affairs of Simhachalam board ever since she took over as the chairperson of the Simhachalam Temple trust board and the family-run Maharaja Alak Narayana Society of Arts and Sciences (MANSAS) Trust Board. Ahok Gajapati Raju has been holding the positions since his brother Ananda Gajapati Raju’s demise. However, the Andhra Pradesh government issued an order appointing Sanchaita as the chairperson. Even MANSAS Trust executive officer Madhavi also sought transfer.

Which Gajapathi will save MANSAS? Sanchaita or Ashok

0

Ever since the YCP came to power, the North Andhra socio-political scene has been seeing rising political temperatures. The Gajapathi Rajus’ royal family is witnessing the deepest cracks ever seen in recent history. With the backing of Vijay Sai Reddy, MANSAS Chairperson Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju is targetting and undermining all other members of the royal family. Recently, she engaged her own step sister Urmila Gajapati Raju in a bitter feud.
Now, Sanchaita targetted her attack on Ashok Gajapathi Raju. This is in the wake of ‘Save Mansas’ agitation picking up momentum in the North Andhra region. In view of the rising heat, Sanchaita took to Twitter and described the ongoing agitation as a ‘Save Ashok’ campaign. She said that Ashok has started it only to save his dwindling political career in the wake of coming to light of his scams in MANSAS one by one. Sanchaita declared that it was she who was making every effort to save MANSAS but not the TDP or anybody else.
Taking the discourse to a new low, Sanchaita has even called Ashok’s plans as cheap politicking. She went on to level allegations against him. She asked why Ashok did not start ‘Save MANSAS’ agitation when the 150 year old Moti Mahal was razed to the ground. He also kept mum without engaging any lawyer in his capacity as Trust Chairman when Rs 13 Cr worth property of MANSAS fell in the hands of private persons in the form of a court decree.
Sanchaita further said that Ashok gave over 8,000 acres of MANSAS to his followers on lease at a minimal rate of Rs. 500 which was very low compared to market rates. Seeing the bitterness exhibited by her, it seems Sanchaita will take the MANSAS dispute to its logical end sooner than later.

Sanchaita a political pawn in Jagan’s game to torpedo Ashok Gajapathi Raju

“May I request former Chief Minister @ncbn garu to refrain from bringing in politics to what is a Pusapati family affair. You have mentored a person during whose tenure 150-year-old Moti Mahal was bulldozed, Phool Bagh palace was razed to the ground and the historic fort is in shambles,” tweeted Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju in response to a tweet by former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu which reads thus , “The MANSAS trust was set up by the Pusapati families with high principles and ideals “The trust controls prime lands of 108 temples including the Simhachalam Devasthanam besides several educational institutions. In view of the high principles and values of the trust, no political party including Telugu Desam Party should interfere in the affairs of the trust.”

“Former CM @ncbn garu should know that the #MANSAS Trust is headed by me, the eldest surviving legal heir of late Ananda Gajapathi Raju. It was usurped by @Ashok_Gajapathi in a mid- night coup even when my father’s ashes were still smouldering, by a GO you issued in his favour,” MANSAS trust chairperson Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju retorted.

While Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju was quick to respond to Naidu’s tweet, why she remained silent when the Jagan government razed to ground the 200-year-old historical monument ‘Three Lanterns Pillar’, popular landmark in the heart of Vizianagaram town? Why she had failed to condemn the YSRCP government’s move to demolition a structure that serves as cultural, emotional and social markers of any city, why she was silent when the YSRCP razed the pillar which was like cutting off some of her own roots? Should petty politics take precedence over history?

Instead of protesting over the demolition of the ‘Three Lanterns Pillar’, Sanchaita has unleashed a full blown war of words in Twitter against her uncle Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Naidu. Surely, “former Chief Minister @ncbn garu has to refrain from bringing in politics to what is a Pusapati family affair.”

Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju should also explain if removing Ashoka Gajapathi Raju from chairperson of Simhachalam Devasthanam trust board was not political interference of the YSRCP g overnment? Demolition of ‘Three Lanterns Pillar’ not deliberate effort to erase the contributions of the Pusapati family to the region?

That begs one to ask the question – is Sanchaita a political pawn being manipulated by the YSRCP president and Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in order to torpedo his arch political rival Ashok Gajapathi Raju? Political observers think the YSRCP is trying to further wedge differences within the family to score political brownie points. For nearly six decades, there was no dispute in the Pusapati families since the days when PVG Raju served as trustee, later succeeded by his elder son Anand Gajapathi Raju and after his death, by younger son Ashok Gajapathi Raju. Although the relationship

between the families of Ashok Gajpathi Raju and his brother Anand Gajapathi Raju remained strained after the demise of their father P V G Raju, the differences became more accetuated after the political interference of the YSRCP into the affairs of Maharaja Alak Narayana Society of Arts and Science (MANSAS). It is not all honky dory between the two Pusapati – Ashok and Anand- families since. In politics of vendetta, the Jagan government had removed Ashok Gajapathi Raju as the chairperson of Simhachalam Devasthanam trust board replacing him with his niece Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju who is daughter of Anand Gajapathi Raju. This triggered row between the Pusapati families and an open slugfest between Ashok Gajapti Raju and his niece Sanchita.

With over 14,800 acres of prime lands in Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram districts worth more than Rs 50,000 crore. MANSAS also controls prime lands of 108 temples including the Simhachalam Devasthanam. It is natural then that families war over the vast estates. Battle Royale over inheritance and property is not unique to the Puspati family. Across the country, the royal families engaged in bitter battles be it the Gwaliors, Scindias, Wadiyars, the Gaekwards and the Mewars. In the case of Pusapati family, the interference of YSRCP into the family dispute has worsened their relationship significantly.

“Moti Mahal was bulldozed, Phool Bagh palace was razed to the ground and the historic fort is in shambles,” tweeted Sanchaita Gajapathi Raju on Wednesday. To put records straight, when Ashok Gajapathi Raju was the Union Tourism Minister in TDP’s regime, he had spent nearly Rs 10 crore to renovate the western side of the Moti Mahal. After the TDP lost, and during the Congress regime, shrubs and thick bushes replaced the beautiful landscape and the structure was allowed to crumble. When the TDP rode back to power again, Ashok Gajapathi Raju had spent Rs 1.20 crore to beautify the Moti Mahal. These facts were being manipulated and twisted around by vested interests to defame Ashok Gajapathi Raju.

On Wednesday, former Union Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju alleged that the YSR Congress Party government was trying to defame Maharaja Alak Narayan Society of Arts & Science (MANSAS) Trust and grab its valuable lands. “I will not give up my responsiblities because of pressure from the government. I will fight for what are the aims and wishes of the founder of the trust,” Ashok Gajapathi Raju had tweeted on Wednesday.

Religious twist to Jagan post to Sanchaitha Gajapathi Raju

The MANSAS Trust (Maharaja Alak Narayana Society for Arts and Sciences) has properties worth Rs. 1.40 lakh cr in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and other places. It has valuable mining-worthy lands that have manganese deposits also. Not only that, the trust runs over 105 temples in the region, including the famous Simhachalam Temple. This is what has become a major irritating factor to the Jaganmohan Reddy government’s appointment of Sanchaitha Gajapathi Raju as the MANSAS Chairperson now.

Sanchaitha and her mother Uma Gajapathi Raju are well known followers of Christianity. They also make visits to the Vatican City. Uma Gajapathi Raju hails from a Christian family in Kerala. But, Anand Gajapathi Raju family are Hindus. After separation, Sanchaitha is living with her mother in Delhi and rose up in high society circles there. Now, objections are coming up to the appointment of a practicing Christian for a trust which runs Hindu temples. Even Asok Gajapathi Raju is objecting to this and vowing to challenge the government in the courts.
