Young heroine not approached for Tholi Prema and Geetha Govindam

Recently, the have been reports that pretty actress Lavanya Tripathi turned down female lead roles in Tholi Prema and Geetha Govindam. Some people gave her the ‘Unlucky Actress’ tag for missing out on two blockbuster hits.

Earlier today, the Andhala Rakshashi actress slammed these rumours and scotched them as fake news items. She clarified that her silence doesn’t mean people have the license to speak as they like.

Few websites have claimed that Lavanya Tripathi has quoted high remuneration for these films and lost the opportunity to star in them. She has now shut down these rumours through her Twitter handle. She is currently busy with Varun Tej’s space thriller.

‘Tholi Prema’ USA Profit Loss Statement

Varun Tej, Raashi Khanna Starrer Tholi Prema was released on Feb 9th with premiers on Premiers on Feb 8th which is a day prior to the Domestic Release. Directed by a debutante Venky Atluri and produced by B.V.S.N prasad the film has collected a gross of $1,087,370 in USA and emerged as the second highest grosser in Varun Tej’s career. It’s also his second consecutive film to collect more than Million Dollars at USA Box-Office.

Coming to profit loss details, the film has collected a distributor share of $587,808 which comes down to $502,808 ie, 3.25 Crores INR after deducting the expenses like VPF & Publicity. The film was sold for 2.75 Cr which means the distributor has ended up with a profit of 0.50 Crores. The film can be called as a Hit.

Tholi Prema Worldwide Closing Collections

Tholiprema has ended it’s worldwide run with a distributor share of over 24 Cr. The film is a Hit as it has collected above the valued theatrical rights amount of 22.50 Cr and also a break-even/profitable for all the distributors involved. It did under perform a bit in Ceeded area when look at other areas shares but that’s the norm for films the having an urban setup. The film has ended as the second highest grosser in Varun Tej’s Career as it fell behind Fidaa.

The film collected has over 1 Million Dollars in USA thus becoming the 39th film from Tollywood to surpass 1 Million Mark. It’s also second Million Dollar for the hero.

US B.O : AWE and Tholi Prema mint decent revenues

Due to no major releases at the US box office, Varun Tej’s Tholi Prema and Nani’s AWE have extended their run as they minted decent revenues in the just concluded weekend.

Tholi Prema, which joined the million dollar club, collected $ 14K and $ 23K on Friday and Saturday respectively. With Sunday’s $ 8K, the film’s total gross stands at $ 1036K. Directed by Venky Atluri, the film has Rashi Khanna as the female lead.

Nani’s experimental physiological thriller AWE, which had a phenomenal first week with $ 700K gross, collected $ 30K and $45K on Friday and Saturday respectively. With Sunday’s $ 20K, the total gross is part $ 800K. The film has already emerged as a blockbuster hit in overseas.

Quite surprisingly, there were no promotions and press releases by the team highlighting the film’s success after a sensational first week.This resulted slightly low collections in second week for AWE.

With no big ticket releases in the next couple of weeks, trade circles are eagerly waiting for Summer season which is going to witness the release a slew of much awaited films.

Mega hero Varun Tej’s latest offering Tholi Prema, which released two weeks ago, emerged as a blockbuster hit in overseas. The film has consistently collected good figures through out its run and finally joined the Million Dollar Club on this Friday.

Tholi Prema is Varun Tej’s second Million Dollar film in overseas after his last year’s smash hit Fidaa, directed by Sekhar Kammula. Tholi Prema is a romantic saga filled with well written emotional drama and ably supported by the charming performances of the lead pair which struck the right chord with overseas audience and set the tone for a strong box office run.

Tholi Prema is 38th Telugu film to join the prestigious million dollar club. Also, director Venky Atluri will join the rare list of filmmakers like Sandeep Reddy Vanga ( Arjun Reddy), Siva Nirvana ( Ninnu Kori) and Tharun Bhascker ( Pelli Choopulu) whose debut films made it to the elite club.

Rashi Khanna played the female lead in the film.

Varun Tej’s Tholi Prema led the pack of last week’s releases with a fantastic first weekend haul at the overseas box office.

The romantic entertainer garnered more than $ 600K by the end of its first weekend and heading towards the million dollar mark with ease. After taking off to a good start with decent numbers from its Thursday premiers, the film punched out strong figures on Friday and Saturday to take the total past $ 500K. With Sunday’s $ 137K, the film’s first weekend gross stands at $ 656K.

Sai Dharam Tej’s Inttelligent and Mohan Babu’s Gayatri are going to end as one the biggest disasters at the overseas box office.

Inttelligent managed to collect a meagre $ 43 K in its first weekend and failed to recover the expenses. Gayatri had an embarrassing run with a total of $ 28K by the end of first weekend.

Overseas audience have thoroughly rejected both films due to their lacklustre content.

The romantic saga has minted $ 150K ( approx) and started off very strongly in overseas, thanks to the promising teasers and the impressive trailer which generated a positive buzz before its release.

The talk from overseas shows is very encouraging and the film is all set for a strong first weekend at the box office.

Youngster Venky Atluri is making his directorial debut with Varun Tej’s Tholi Prema and the film has been carrying huge buzz. This romantic entertainer received wide response from the USA premieres and Tholi Prema is hitting the screens today across India. Dil Raju acquired the theatrical rights of the film and he was extremely impressed with the film’s output. BVSN Prasad who bankrolled Tholi Prema will produce the second directorial of Venky Atluri.

Tholi Prema Makers are strict on US Premieres Date

Mega Prince Varuntej’s next film Tholi Prema has been carrying decent buzz and the film has been announced for February 10th release all over. Debutant Venky Atluri helmed the film while Rashi Khanna played the female lead. Tholi Prema will release with special Thursday night premieres on February 8th across USA and with the ongoing buzz, the makers expect that the film would open with decent occupancy across the territories of USA.

However there are wide speculations from some of the false spreading portals that Tholi Prema has been pre-poned in India. A reliable source confirmed that Tholi Prema will hit the screens on February 10th all over (except USA) as per the promise made by the makers to avoid clash with Sai Dharam Tej’s Inttelligent. The film’s distributor Dil Raju decided to push the release of Tholi Prema by a day giving space for Sai Dharam Tej’s Inttelligent and the makers of Tholi Prema are said to stick to their promise on the release date.

SS Thaman composed the tunes and the audio album is already a chartbuster. BVSN Prasad is the producer of Tholi Prema while Dil Raju is distributing the film all over.
