Jagan Govt to reconstruct demolished temples to counter TDP

After the Ramatheertham controversy, the Jaganmohan Reddy Government has doubtlessly come under great stress. Both the TDP and the BJP are cornering the ruling party. The BJP has also begun a huge ‘Chalo Ramatheertham’ protest programme today with its senior leaders attending it. To counter this and to silence the critics, the Chief Minister came out with a counter strategy.

This time, the YCP regime decided to reconstruct all those smaller temples that were demolished by the previous TDP rule in the vicinity of Kanaka Durga Temple. At that time, those temples were removed because they stood there as traffic obstructions for the high traffic. Moreover, the 4-laning of the national highway was taken up in addition to construction of a new Kanaka Durga flyover.

Now, the new flyover was completed. Under this flyover, the Chief Minister is going to do puja for reconstruction of Saneeswara Swamy Temple soon.
On the other hand, the rival parties were demanding the Government to reinstall and carry out restoration works at all the vandalised temples in the State till now. Public funds should be used to do these works at all the 140-odd temples that were vandalised.

Jagan regime sacks Ashok Gajapati from Ramatheertham

5

The Jaganmohan Reddy Government has been launching surprise attacks on the rivals and giving sudden twists to all controversies. Today, the Government removed Ashok Gajapathi Raju from the Chairman post of Ramatheertham Kodanda Rama Temple. Also, Ashok was sacked from the Paidthalli and Mandapalli Temple trusts. The Government has issued the orders relating to these sackings.

Interestingly, Ashok’s removal came exactly at a time when he was sitting on the dais as TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu was addressing a meeting at Ramatheertham temple. Ashok has also spoken during Naidu’s visit that the CM was like a robber who came out on bail from jail only to cause untold suffering to the people.
Already, Ashok Gajapati Raju has been removed from the Chairman post of Simhachalam Temple which is next only to the Tirumala temple in assets. He was also removed from the Chairman post of MANSAS Trust.

An outspoken leader and bitter critic of Jagan Reddy from the beginning, Ashok has become a big target of the CM. His elder brother’s daughter, Sanchaita, has joined hands with the YCP to give Ashok a tough time now. Only time will what twists the Gajapathis’ confrontation would take.

YCP ‘time-pass tactics’ paying rich political dividends

2

From day one, the Jaganmohan Reddy Government has been steeped in controversies and sensational decisions. There would be no democratic debates or consultation with like minded persons or experts before taking any decision. As dissenting voices and criticism is rising, the ruling YCP has come out with an effective political medication for this. First, it has filed lots of cases and made arrests of those who are questioning the Government.
Nowadays, the ruling YCP is putting into effective use yet another ‘time-pass tactic’. This is to divert the people’s attention to politically sensational issues. For this, the Government is itself triggering tensions. Right now, there is rising criticism against the YCP for not giving house sites in inhabitable locations. The Opposition voice is also rising on this. Especially, more criticism is heard in North Andhra. At such a time, the YCP Government targetted TDP MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna and started making allegations of land grabbing against him. The issue led to public challenges and counter allegations between him and the YCP leaders.
Similarly, Sneha Latha murder shook the entire Rayalaseema region. At such a time, the YCP MLA stormed into the JC Prabhakar Reddy house and created a sensation in Anantapur district. A high drama went on for the entire day there. Yet another controversy came to the fore. This is dumping of garbage by the municipal staff in front of the banks in Vijayawada, Vuyyur and Machilipatnam. Rumours came out that the ruling party leaders resorted to this as there was no expected support from the banks to the Jagananna welfare programmes. Thus, the opponents are pushed into self-defence and preoccupied with how to protect themselves all the time.

Govt withdraws move on sale of Mantralayam temple lands

2

For various reasons, the ruling YCP Government is very cautious and careful on issues that would inconvenience the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders. Already, the Government came down in regard to the properties of the TTD. Now, the Mantralayam lands issue also met with the same fate.
The YCP Government initially gave permission to the Raghavendra Swamy Mutt management to sell off the lands and deposit those amounts in the banks. The decision was taken as the tenant farmers were not paying the lease amounts. The Mantralayam Mutt has over 5,192 acres of which 1,870 acres are located in Telangana state.
Following requests from the management, the Government gave permission to sell the Mutt lands of over 208 acres in several villages in Telangana. However, the BJP leaders promptly put objections and warned of serious consequences if the properties donated by devotees were sold to private parties. Following this, the Government has once again taken a decision to go slow. For now, the sale has been stopped because of political backlash.
The whole problem started with allegations that in many places, the temple lands have slipped into private hands. Many encroachers have even created false documents to show the lands as their own. The Government is trying to streamline the temple properties but the BJP is putting up stiff resistance.

Fresh notice to Sabbam Hari despite court relief

0

It is well known that former MP Sabbam Hari has become one of the prime targets for the YCP Government in view of his vocal criticism of the ruling party’s policies. The municipal authorities already brought down some structures in the name of encroachment in his house premises in Vizag.

Now, a fresh notice was given to the former MP despite the status quo orders issued by the High Court till Monday. In the fresh notice, Mr. Sabbam Hari was asked to demolish the structures in his site within 3 days. Even the latest notice was put on the wall of the former MP’s house during night time. This has given ample indications that the ruling YCP was unrelenting in its bid to take total and undisputed control over the port city.

TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu decried the latest action of the YCP and said that only for the sake of vengeful politics, the Chief Minister was undermining and defaming the administrative set-up and the long-standing systems and institutions. It was nothing but vindictiveness that was behind the Government’s oppressive actions even on issues that were pending before the court.

The TDP accused the YCP Government of resorting to ‘midnight arrests, night time demolitions and late night notices’ in its bid to take its unquenchable revenge against political opponents. There was nil focus on development as the ruling YCP leaders were making it a single point agenda to harass the rivals. The Government was not hesitating to violate the courts’ orders in its haste to intimidate the opponents.
