RAW Chief Sunil Luthra (Ashutosh Rana) gets killed in the hands of Major Kabir Dhaliwal (Hrithik Roshan). The government takes the issue seriously and a hunt for Kabir is staged. Vikram (NTR) will be handed over the responsibility to trace Kabir. At the same time, a group plans attacks on India and they have plans to join hands with Kabir. The rest of War 2 is all about the death mystery of Sunil Luthra and the fight between Kabir, Vikram. Watch War 2 to know about what happens next.
Analysis:
The story of RAW Agents is filled with patriotism and loads of action, emotional stuff. War is a similar film that is packed well with action and emotions. Yash Raj Films has continued it as a franchise with War 2. NTR joining the film added more craze for the film. With Hrithik Roshan and NTR on board, the expectations are big and the film has some big premises set as per the story and the backdrop. War 2 seems like a film that has action sequences designed first before writing the basic plot. The makers are completely focused on the action episodes and the action goes over the board.
There should be action in a story but there is story in between the action in War 2. The film has a car chase, train fight, an aeroplane fight and a stunt in the water. The car chase was planned in Hollywood style but it ends as a misfire. The train fight also looks silly. The aeroplane fight is completely logicless. The VFX works are not impressive and they fail to capture the mood. All these action episodes end up as a joke for the audience. The episodes of Kali gang are so silly and they arrange meetings to discuss about their plans.
The entire story revolves around Hrithik Roshan and NTR. Though the film is a two-hero film, NTR played the role of the lead antagonist in War 2. As NTR is one of the top actors, the audience will be disappointed to watch him in a negative role. Hence, the team has made changes to balance the character of Tarak in the film. The interval twist in War 2 is good and impressive. The second half of War 2 starts with the flashback episode and it is lengthy. The climax portions too are very lengthy which makes the second half of War 2 even more boring. There is a surprise entry during the climax of the film.
Performances:
Hrithik Roshan has done his role with ease and his screen presence is impressive. He excelled in the action episodes. War 2 is the first Hindi film for NTR and he did his part well. NTR tried well to balance his role. The song featuring Hrithik Roshan and NTR failed to live up to the expectations though the duo has done their best. Kiara Advani was good in an action episode and she was sizzling hot in the bikini scene.
The VFX work is a major letdown of War 2. Yash Raj Films failed badly to present War 2 in the best manner in technical aspects. The action episodes went over the board and none of them are impressive. The Telugu dubbing work too is not upto the mark and the lip sync was not matching. The songs are a huge letdown in the film. Yash Raj Films wanted to cash through the franchise of War. They haven’t done enough work on the script. Though NTR and Hrithik Roshan worked hard to deliver their best, War 2 is a huge letdown in all the other terms. A big disappointment.
