The Congress party has finally expanded its cabinet in Telangana by adding three new ministers to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s government. The new ministers are G. Vivek Venkat Swamy, who is MLA from Chennur, Adluri Laxman from Dharmapuri, and V. Srihari from Makthal. These leaders come from different communities like Mala, Madiga, and BC, showing the party’s aim to give representation to various groups. Along with this, Dornakal MLA J. Ramchander Naik has been selected as the new Deputy Speaker of the Assembly.
The oath-taking ceremony happened at Raj Bhavan, where the Governor Jishnu Dev Varma administered the oath. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and other senior leaders were also present. Though the new ministers have taken charge, their departments have not been allotted yet. The announcement on who gets which ministry will come soon.
Out of the total 17 cabinet seats, only 11 have been filled now, leaving 6 more still vacant. Some well-known leaders like Sudarshan Reddy, Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, and Vijayashanthi were hoping to get a chance, but they didn’t make it this time. Even leaders from the Greater Hyderabad area expected representation, but none were selected in this expansion.
The Congress seems to be trying to maintain a social balance by giving importance to SC and BC communities. TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud congratulated the new ministers and the Deputy Speaker. Many believe this move is part of a bigger plan by the Congress to prepare for future elections.
Now, all eyes are on how the ministries will be shared among the ministers and whether more leaders will be added in the next round of cabinet expansion. The Revanth Reddy-led government is slowly building its team while managing the state’s political needs.
