King Nagarjuna is out of track and none of his recent films minted money. The actor is busy with the shoot of Wild Dog, an action thriller that will release during summer. Nag was in talks with Kalyan Krishna Kurasala for Bangarraju, the sequel of Soggade Chinni Nayana from the past one and a half year. The project was initially planned to roll in May 2019 and is slated for Sankranthi 2020 release. But, Bangarraju got delayed due to various reasons.
As per the latest news, the film will start rolling from April this year. Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya will play the lead roles in this rural-based entertainer. Annapurna Studios are the producers and the film is aimed for January 2021 release. Nag recently heard the final draft and gave his nod. Kalyan Krishna is busy finalizing the actors, technicians and the shooting schedules are planned.
’83’ is one of the prestigious films made in Indian cinema and this sports drama is based on the life story of Indian star cricketer Kapil Dev. Directed by Kabir Singh, the film features Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. Vishnu Induri’s Vibri Media along with Reliance Entertainments are producing the film that will release during this summer in all the Indian languages.
King Nagarjuna is now associated with the project and he would present the Telugu version of 83. “India won its first world cup in 83 &we still get goosebumps when we think of that moment. Very happy to present the Telugu version of the film 83” revealed Nag. Annapurna Studios will release the Telugu version of 83 which is slated for April 10th 2020.
The decompsed body of an unknown person was found in the farmhouse of popular Telugu actor Nagarjuna on the outskirts of Hyderabad, police said on Thursday.
According to police, the body was found on late Wednesday by few persons who were sent by the actor to examine the land and suggest a suitable crop for cultivation.
The body was found lying in a room at the farmhouse in Papireddyguda village of Shadnagar block and the persons immediately alerted the police, which shifted the body for autopsy.
A case was booked at Keshampet police station. Police said they launched an investigation to identify the body and were waiting for autopsy report.
Nagarjuna and his family members said to have visited the farm house recently and planted few saplings. However, for cultivation of some organic food crops, the actor had hired the services of few experts and sent them to the farmhouse for the survey.
The actor is said to have bought the 40-acre agriculture land about a year ago.
Tollywood ‘King’ Nagarjuna says Chiranjeevi is his inspiration. He has been interacting with various TV channels today on the occasion of independence day and he was promoting his recent movie Manmadhudu-2 and also taking the questions on Bigg boss 3 program, that has been hosted by him.
During this chitchat, one of the audience asked, who is his inspiration apart from ANR in film industry. Nagarjuna took no time to answer this question and replied quickly that Chiranjeevi is his inspiration and explained the reasons for the same quiet convincingly. He told he always admired the mythological roles played by senior NTR apart from the memorable roles played by ANR. However, they are very seniors, but in case of Chiranjeevi, he knows Chiranjeevi inside out as they both are from the same generation, Nagarjuna added. He also told that he has seen Chiranjeevi growing from ashes to top chair very closely i.e. from small characters, negative roles to star hero roles. He added that he has always seen that fire and passion in Chiranjeevi to achieve what he wants to achieve and that always inspired him.
He also spoke about Bigg boss 3 program and told that he watches each and every episode of Bigg boss, including unseen episodes in the app. Audience appreciated him for handling the show very deftly.
Not even a single film of Nagarjuna in his entire career, including the likes of Bhai or Raju gari Gadhi 2 trolled like this by critics and audiences alike. Other day it is gloom and doom for his new release Manmadhudu 2 however. Cinema analysts, however, opine that this happened due to two women and their previous comments.
With all due respect to the good work put up by Chinmayi and Samantha on Twitter through their activism, they should have impartially knocked off their family and friends in the same meter. Especially when Chinmayi’s husband Rahul Ravindran directorial Manmadhudu 2 trailer was released, this trolling game has started on social media sites as they pointed at the kisses and double entendre dialogues of Nagarjuna inside it. Trollers included Samantha as well as she is the daughter in law of Akkineni khandan.
At that time, both Chinmayi and Samantha criticised director Sandeep Reddy Vanga for making Kabir Singh slap Preethi in Arjun Reddy Hindi version and commented on it with the hashtag #DeeplyDisturbing. Linking the same hashtag to Manmadhudu 2, trollers made an outrage of Nag’s dialogue where he says he will not pick farming just for a plate of food (in connection to falling in love and getting married).
Other day on the eve of film’s release, the peck by Rakul on Jhansi’s lips, followed by Nag’s double meaning dialogues and Rakul’s cigarette smoking, trollers had a feast targetting Samantha and Chinmayi. While they continued to blast them accusing that they are pseudo feminists, it’s Manmadhudu 2 that got entangled in loads of negativity.
This whole discussion happening on Twitter has two sides, but the trolling got more weight with Manmadhudu 2 unable to put a weight with its content.
Akkineni Nagarjuna returns back to rom-coms with Manmadhudu 2 which sees him playing a middle-aged bachelor who prefers casual flings to marriage. Directed by Rahul Ravindran, the film has Rakul Preet Singh as the leading lady and host of prominent actors in pivotal roles.

Story :
Sam alias Sambasiva Rao ( Nagarjuna ) is a Casanova who lives in Portugal along with personal assistant Kishore ( Vennela Kishore). His family pushes him to get married as he already past his marriage age. To get away from them, he requests and contracts Ms. Avantika ( Rakul Preet) to pretend as his lover for two weeks. Rest of the story is how the fake lover works with his family to get the things done.
Analysis:
Manmadhudu-2 story has nothing to do with its predecessor. Makers are honest to that extent and in prerelease interviews cautioned audience not to compare this film with ‘Manmadhudu’.
The story has backdrop of a city called ‘cassandhra’ located in Portugal. Though the intention is to be funny, the family setup and their characterizations are totally out of zone.
This film has a flimsy storyline which has shades of nineties Telugu movies. This farcical film largely depends on Vennela Kishore’s comedy which worked in first half, partial in 2nd half. The movie rides on Vennela Kishore and he gets more screentime than the protagonist. Hero Sam, Heroine Avantika roles have been written with no real strength to their characterizations. Nagarjuna’s onscreen image in his hayday is a ‘Heartthrob’, but in this film the thick line between a heartthrob and a womanizer is blurred and Sam characterization doesn’t appeal to his age. This character is a forgettable one for him. Looks-wise he is very good in this film though. Rakul preet Singh looked good, performed good as well.
Maybe to make this film appeal to youth, a generous dose of double entendre, adult comedy scenes are inserted. Even in the days of Jabardasth, the double meaning dialogues are too much to take and will be an uneasy watch with kids. Vennela Kishore as Kishore is hilarious for majority part of the film. Rao Ramesh excels as mamiah of Sam.
Even though Nagarjuna hesitates to admit, the reason Manmadhudu is a good watch even today is Trivikram’s punch dialogues and the timing. M2 fails big in that aspect, especially in the second half. The iconic Brahmanandam Escalator scene from the original is repeated in this movie again and was poorly executed.

Manmadhudu-2 fails to meet the minimum bar of a franchise film. One wonders how Nagarjuna, who is a tasteful producer, allowed too much adult content as he has a good following in families. This film provides some youth appealing entertainment with its double meaning dialogues and leaves other departments unsatisfactorily. In an attempt to make a new generation hatke comedy film, director – writer Rahul Ravindran ended up making a film that doesn’t match to Nagarjuna’s stature.
From the past one week, there are speculations about the drift between Nagarjuna and director Trivikram. Nag during the pre-release event of Manmadhudu 2 preferred not to give any credit of Manmadhudu to Trivikram though he left the director Vijay Bhaskar in heaps of praises. Even during his recent media interactions, Nag stood away from talking about Trivikram which made clear that all is not well between Nag and Trivikram.
Going into the details, after the disaster of Akhil and Hello, Nag approached Trivikram and asked him to direct Akhil. He even offered a hefty package for the project. Trivikram without rejecting or accepting stood calm and did not respond about the offer. This irked Nag and things are not smooth between them. Now Nag decided not to give the credit to Trivikram for Manmadhudu. Nag’s Manmadhudu 2 is releasing tomorrow. Rahul Ravindran is the director and Rakul Preet Singh is the female lead.
King Nagarjuna has surely defied age with his perfectionist looks and youngest appearance in his latest release Manmadhudu-2. He has been looking as fit as he was in the earlier Manmadhudu which released 14 years ago! The makers of Manmadhudu-2 are aggressively promoting the film which is due for release this Friday. With a strong cast including Rakul Preet Singh as the female lead, Lakshmi, Vennela Kishore and Rao Ramesh in pivotal roles, Manmadhudu-2 is directed by Rahul Ravindran.
The latest one minute video of the famous song Hey Menina has been released and Nag looks charming as ever in it. With breathtaking locations blended with foot tapping rhythmic music, the song’s video has definitely increased expectations on the main flick. Nag is left puzzled about the release of Manmadhudu 2 as there are a bunch of projects releasing in August and September.
Sharwanand’s Ranarangam is announced for August 2nd release. Adivi Sesh’s Evaru is hitting the screens on August 23rd and Nani’s Gang Leader is slated for August 30th release. Venkatesh and Naga Chaitanya’s multi-starrer Venky Mama, Varun Tej’s Valmiki and Gopichand’s Chanakya are slated for September release. Hence, Nag announced that Manmadhudu 2 will release on August 9th as he wanted a solo release for the film. As of now, there is no clarity on the release date and the final date may change. Star hero Akkineni Nagarjuna is prepping up for his next outing which is tentatively titled as Manmadhudu 2. Rahul Ravindran will direct this romantic entertainer which is expected to roll out in mid Summer. Besides this film, Nag has Bollywood film Brahmastra in his kitty. He has already completed the shoot for a major portion.
Meanwhile, anchor turned director Omkar has initiated talks with Nagarjuna for a prominent role in the third installment of Raju Gari Gadhi. Reportedly, Omkar is planning a sequel to this hit franchise this year and he is looking to cast some big stars for important roles. In the second installment, Nagarjuna and Samantha played lead roles in the film. Now, the makers are once again looking to pull a casting coup of sorts for the third part.
It is learnt that Tamannah has been approached for one of the lead roles. Also, Nag is in talks to essay a significant character in the film. If Omkar comes up with a watertight script, there is no reason why Nagarjuna would reject the offer. We have to wait and see if the hit franchise continues its success streak or not.
