Allu Sirish prefers mirror selfies because photoshoots are too ‘mainstream’

1

Telugu actor Allu Sirish on Friday confessed he prefers mirror selfies to photoshoots. He feels photoshoots are too mainstream.

Sirish posted a mirror selfie on Instagram that shows him sitting shirtless, flaunting a beefed-up body, before a set of dumbbells in the gym.

“Mirror selfies. Coz a photoshoot is too mainstream!” the actor, who is the younger brother of Telugu star Allu Arjun, wrote as the caption.

Sirish was recently seen in the music video of “Vilayati sharaab”, sung by Darshan Raval and Neeti Mohan.

He made his acting debut as the lead star of the 2013 bilingual film “Gouravam” and later did successful films such as “Kotha Janta”, “Srirasthu Subamastu” and “Okka Kshanam”.

Allu Arjun doesn’t tweet about something unless he really likes it: Allu Sirish

1

Actor Allu Sirish says it was a special moment when his elder brother, Telugu star Allu Arjun, praised him on social media for his work in his debut Hindi music video “Vilayati sharaab”. Sirish cherishes his brother’s compliment all the more because Arjun is known to be a man of few words.

“His encouragement means the most to me because he is a man of few words. He is not too verbal about appreciation. His praises don’t come a lot. So, even a smallest thing like an Instagram story coming from him is a big deal for me because I know for a fact that unless he really likes something, he doesn’t praise it on social media,” Sirish tells IANS.

He adds: “For a lot of my movies also he has never tweeted the first look or trailer unless he is very impressed. Coming from him is a real endorsement of sorts for me.”

A few days back, Arjun has tweeted: “BIG Congratulations to @allusirish on hitting 100M Super Proud ! & Congratulations to @darshanravaldz @neetimohan18 @heli_daruwala the entire team of #vilayatisharaab.”

Sirish, who is known for his work in Telugu films such as “Kotha Janta”, “Srirasthu Subamastu” and “Okka Kshanam”, recalls Arjun’s reaction when he saw the video of “Vilayati sharaab” for the first time.

“He was happy. He said that it’s good that I am trying new things and that not many people would want to venture out through a music video. He appreciated the move of doing something. He also liked the video,” says Sirish.

The song is composed by Lijo George and DJ Chetas, and penned by Kumaar. The video features Sirish with TV actress Heli Daruwala.

Sirish claims he was surprising by the huge response the song has garnered, and is now encouraged him to do more Hindi projects.

“This is like a huge push to me. I am open to exploring more stuff in Hindi provided somebody gives me the right opportunity. If something interesting comes along on these lines I would surely take it up,” says the actor.

He signs off saying: “Now that I have done it in Hindi, I want to do a music video in Telugu or Tamil also, they being my home industries. I am open, if something interesting comes by, I will pick it up.”

Mega Hero’s First Hindi Music Video – Will it Help?

1

Mega family hero Allu Sirish until now has no hits though he has started his career years back. The actor has acted in 5 Telugu films and 1 Malayalam film. After his previous flick ‘ABCD – American Born Confused Desi’, Sirish hasn’t got any offers.

So, it seems our hero is trying to get some interesting offers in a different way! He acted in a Hindi music video ‘Vilayati Sharaab’ for the first time and it was released 30 minutes ago. The song is rocking and gives instant energy and motivates people to dance to their heart’s content.

However, Sirish hasn’t proved his mettle in dance with this wonderful song. With small and simple steps, he tried to convince the viewers, but as the people have watched the music videos with amazing dance moves, the video until now hasn’t impressed many people. We have to wait 24 hours at least to know if the song can change the fate of Sirish!

Allu Arjun to relaunch Allu Sirish

0

Allu Sirish is one actor who has been struggling to deliver a decent hit from the past few years. Though he hails from a big family, the actor’s films have been badly rejected by the Tollywood audience. He has been listening to scripts from some time but he wasn’t impressed with any script. His father Allu Aravind is quite busy launching his own OTT platform and is also occupied with several projects lined up in Geetha Arts. Sirish’s elder brother Allu Venkatesh is all set to make his debut as a producer with Varun Tej’s boxing drama which will roll next year.

It is heard that Stylish Star Allu Arjun took the responsibility to relaunch Allu Sirish next year. Bunny’s team is busy finalizing a script for Sirish and the hunt is on. If things are finalized, the project will start rolling next year and Allu Arjun will personally monitor the happenings right from the script. Allu Sirish is all excited to start his next at the earliest. The actor is on a break after the debacle of ABCD.

ABCD Review : Fails to entertain !

ABCD Movie Review

Telugu360 Rating 2.5/5

Story:

Aravind alias Avi( AlluSirish) is a son of a millionaire NRI ( Nagababu) who migrated to USA 25 years ago. Being a rich kid, Avi spends up to $20K per month which scares his dad. Nagababu sends his son to India to make him understand the value of money, value of hard work. After Avi reaches India, all his credit cards are disabled so that he doesn’t get easy money, also all his USA contacts have been alerted not to send money to him.

Rest of the film is about how Avi and his friend survive the slum life in India. It also deals with how the duo become media celebrities and earn own reputation.

Analysis:

Movie takes off interestingly but fails to build further on the premise. The concept of American born rich desi kid coming to India , without any funds available to spend , sets up ample scope to generate humor but the team has been only partially successful ..That too in first half. In couple of scenes Allu Sirish ,Bharath ( Master Bharath ) are able to generate humor. Entire political thread involving finance minister Subhalekha Sudhakar, his son Raja is a damp squib. Feel good image artist Srinivennla Raja’s selection for a villain role is a miscast, that impacted entire second half. Hero heroine friendship or love track is poorly written.

Vennela Kishore’s ‘ Koffee with Kishore ‘ news reader character has been written around the popular youtube video ‘ Frustrated News reader ‘ and it is hilarious.

Allu Sirish has acted well, in climax scene his speech is impressive. Bharath as hero’s friend is fine as well. Heroine Rukshar Dhillon has limited role, acted okay. Nagababu is adequate as hero’s father. Production values should have been much better. Given the hero’s market, it appears there is a compromise in spending. Director Sanjeev shows some ability to narrate the proceedings interestingly but budget, casting etc. factors restricted the output.

Positives:

  • Hero Allu Sirish shows ease in action

Negatives:

  • Poor Casting, production values
  • Less entertainment
  • Lack of commercial elements

Verdict:

ABCD has a story that is not a run-of-the-mill one. There is little entertainment in first half, which could have been better though. Second half is more story oriented one with no enjoyable moments. Overall, in B C centers this film may find some audience and elsewhere it will be an uphill task to bring audience to the theater with this content.

Will Allu Sirish’s ABCD better ‘Okka Kshanam’ run in overseas

0

Allu Sirish has pinned all hopes on his Summer release ABCD( American Born Confused Desi) which is the official remake of Malayalam film with the same name. Debutant Sanjeev Reddy is its director and Sirish reprised Dulqueer Salman’s role. He will be seen as an NRI who gets into an intricate lifestyle after landing in India.

The teasers and trailers of ABCD received a good response from the audience and set some encouraging buzz on the film. Allu Sirish’s previous film Okka Kshanam performed decently at the overseas box office as it collected more than quarter million ( $ 285K) in its full run. So, it remains to be seen if ABCD strikes a chord with an overseas audience and performs better than Okka Kshanam or not.

As Maharshi didn’t excite audience there and is having a full second weekend in overseas, ABCD has definitely got a good chance to notch up decent numbers if it manages to garner hit talk from premiers.

Allu Sirish disappointed for missing out Geetha Govindam

1

While Allu Aravind’s entire team is delighted with the solid box office success of Geetha Govindam, the latest film of their production house, one person who is little disappointed for missing out on a big opportunity is Allu Sirish. Reportedly, Sirish was very impressed with the story of Geetha Govindam while he came across it during the scripting stages. He desperately wanted to play the lead role in this romantic entertainer.

After directing Allu Sirish in Srirasthu Subhamasthu, director Parasuram promised to do another film for Geetha Arts. So, both Allu Aravindh and Bunny Vas also considered Sirish for this film. However, Parasuram wanted a young and crazy hero who could pull the lead role effortleslessly with impeccable timing. So, the script was finally narrated to Vijay Devarakonda who was fresh from the success of Pelli Choopulu at that time.

Though Sirish missed out on a great chance to bag a decent film in his career, Allu Aravindh and his team are very happy because of the magnitude of the box office success due to the presence of Tollywood’s latest sensation Vijay Devarakonda.
