City Gallery’ first of its kind in India to come up in Amaravati

0

Vijayawada: In a review meeting held on Amaravati project, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu reviewed the proposal for a ‘City Gallery’ which will serve as a “Amaravati Experience Centre”.

The city gallery which is perhaps the first of its kind in the country would engage people of the capital in the development process of Amaravati. The gallery would come up in an area of 4.5 acres at a cost of Rs 13.69 crore. The AP government conceived the project after studying city galleries in cities such as Singapore, Astana, Berlin and Chicago.

The gallery would provide interfaces through physical models, virtual reality experience and exhibitions for people to participate in the growth of Amaravati. Besides this it will also show images depicting the past, present and future of Amaravati.

The temporary structure will be built on existing infrastructure near the Amaravati foundation stone area and a semi- permanent structure would also come up to house the capital city model. The proposed number of visitors per day is 300 to 500 and may cross over 4,000 after its completion. Various concepts and designs for the city gallery were discussed by the officials and the Chief Minister has asked them to come up with more innovative designs in the next meeting.

Later the Chief Minister reviewed the proposals for the development of Rajiv Gandhi River Front Park and integrated transportation plan.

At the beginning of the meeting CRDA officials played a walk through video on the streets of LPS layouts. In a few days from now the department proposes to develop a virtual experience of the walk through video and show it to all the stakeholders involved.

Sharing his comments on the video, the Chief Minister said that a more number of trees, walking and cycle paths and green ways should be developed keeping in view the climatic conditions of the State.

The Chief Minister suggested that Amaravati should have a wide range of public transport facilities. He said that main centers in the city should be connected through metro buses and other centers through electrical buses. Small distance travel should be through waterways he added.

The Chief Minister suggested that a beautiful replica of the historic Tirumala Temple be constructed on a hill available in the capital region.

Digital Mapping Begins for Amaravati Roads

0

Vijayawada: The officials have started digital mapping of the 29 capital villages for internal roads and the two ring roads that would be part of the new capital city, Amaravati.

The officials of the State government have already started formation of a six-lane seed access road, the main road for the new city. In addition to this, the officials have also planned seven internal roads in the first phase, besides an inner ring road and one outer ring road that would come in the next phases. The seven internal roads are already planned and a draft is prepared by the AP Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA). The CRDA had served notices to the owners of houses, shops, cattle sheds and others that are to be acquired for the formation of these internal roads. A whopping compensation is offered to these owners in return to their lands and talks are being held with them to surrender the identified lands.

Meanwhile, the officials have started the aerial survey and digital global positioning systems for both the internal roads and the ring roads. The work on the outer ring road has already been started at Kanchikacharla and Veerulapadu mandals of Krishna district, the other side of the Krishna river. This would provide an iconic bridge across the river, while another iconic bridge is planned between Bhavani Island and Ibrahimpatnam.

The 150 meter wide outer ring road is planned to cover 188 kilometers would be executed by the Central government. The internal ring road too is also planned with 75 meters width and 97 kilometers length that would provide better connectivity to the Vijayawada city with Amaravati. The APCRDA would execute this project directly and both the inner ring road and outer ring road are planned to be ready by the end of 2018.

The officials say that the actual work would begin for the two ring roads simultaneously with the seven internal roads and the main seed access road. The APCRDA officials are of the opinion that the roads, once completed would give a clear look to the proposed Amaravati city, as by then the master plan for the city and the government buildings would be ready.

Will Amaravati, Polavaram favour TDP as Babu plans for early polls?

0

Vijayawada: Telugu Desam Party national president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu bugled the early polls bell during his meeting with the party senior leaders in the coordination committee meeting. Though the government has the time till May 2019, Chandrababu Naidu had given indications of going for polls a few months ahead, which means in the December 2018-January 2019 season, which is favourable for campaign as educational institutions will remain closed for Christmas-Pongal holidays.

Naidu preferring early polls is not new as he did so in 2004 with an eye on the sympathy that he had received after the Alipiri blast targeting him in October 2003. Though this did not work for him in retaining power, Chandrababu Naidu is understood to have decided on early polls this time again, mostly banking on the two pet projects – Polavaram and Amaravati. Chandrababu Naidu is said to have come to a conclusion that these two projects on which he had been working hard for the past three years, would fetch him more votes and help him retain the power. Moreover, he believes in a sentiment that the TDP had won the 1994 elections and it repeated the victory in 1999. This would repeat for the party as it had won the 2014 elections and is sure of victory in January 2019. Keeping this sentiment aside, it is believed that Chandrababu Naidu is believing strongly that his development plank and the unfinished works would come in his favour and help him retain the power. In fact, it was on his experience and ability that have helped him win the 2014 elections as the State needed a leader like him after bifurcation. He believes that people in the State still have the confidence in him to develop the residuary State and continue the plans of building the capital and completing the Polavaram project. It is a fact that the two projects are seen as lifeline for the State and people have high hopes on the government.

Though the two projects are part of the Reorganisation Act and the Central government is funding them, Chandrababu Naidu is focusing more on these two on a day-to-day basis. The works on Polavaram are progressing at a greater speed and people have confidence that the project would change the fate of the State. It is for this reason, he is monitoring the project works on every Monday and making virtual and personal inspections frequently. The second project of building capital city too is a greater issue for the State. The cities like Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai or even Mumbai are not being considered given the extensive campaign and projection that Chandrababu Naidu had been giving for Amaravati. Having lost Hyderabad in the bifurcation, people of Andhra Pradesh are looking for a greater city than Hyderabad and believe that only Chandrababu Naidu can build it. Interestingly, Chandrababu Naidu is now busy finalizing the designs for the new capital and the works are set to begin by end of 2017 so as to be projected in the next election as an ‘unfinished task’ that needs continuation.

Interestingly there are critics for Chandrababu Naidu’s claims on these two projects. While the credit for Polavaram Project is given to late Y S Rajasekhar Reddy for his initiative, the land pooling taken up for Amaravati brought some negative campaign for Chandrababu Naidu, as fertile agriculture lands are destroyed.
It is to be seen how Chandrababu Naidu would cash in on these two projects in the next elections to retain the power.

Is Naidu favouring early elections to Assembly?

Vijayawada: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had sounded about the State going for elections ahead of the schedule 2019. Though the State is scheduled to go for next elections in early 2019, Chandrababu Naidu wants to advance the elections by a few months. This would mean that the State would go for elections between October and December 2018.

Sources in the ruling TDP said that Chandrababu Naidu had asked the party leaders to be prepared for early elections. He met the party leaders at the party coordination committee meeting held on Friday. Chandrababu Naidu wanted the leaders to keep the cadre ready for the elections anytime after August 2018. This would mean that the government has 16 months on hand to seek fresh mandate.

The TDP chief is planning to go for elections by projecting Polavaram Project works and that of the Amnaravati city. While men and machines are at work in Polavaram for visibility, the government is now getting into the ground works in Amaravati. As there are no chances of having another major construction in the capital city in the next one year, the Chief Minster is in favour of grounding the road works at the earliest. The seed access road work is in progress between Venkatapalem and Thullur. This six-lane road would be connected with seven internal roads in the first phase of the Amaravati project. The Chief Minister wants the officials to begin the works on these seven internal roads and give a clear shape by August 2018.

Chandrababu Naidu is also learned to have revealed the results of a secret survey that he had conducted in the recent past. He had reportedly told the party senior leaders that the voting percentage had increased for the TDP by 16.13, while the Opposition YSR Congress had suffered a huge loss of 13.45. The Congress vote remained below 1 per cent, he said and also projected some positive turn to the ruling TDP from the Muslim voters.

Mega call center: Chandrababu’s step towards good governance

0

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu is all set to launch the State Government’s Mega Call Center on Friday. Even though government is implementing several welfare programmes, people are facing organizational problems. Also, people want to share their ideas and opinions with the government. Naidu took this step not only to address such issues but also to reduce the gap between the government and people. The call center will work with 28 departments and will function for 12hours each day. It will receive complaints and independent feedback from the public and operate as a solution platform. The feedback and complaints received will be occasionally reviewed by the CM himself. Taking suggestions and inputs from people will pave the way for good governance.

This sophisticated call center is setup in 10000 sq.ft at Guntupalli near Vijayawada. The office is suitable for accommodating 1200 employees and will operate under the state government. The Planning commission will oversee the complaints received at the call center and subsequently redirect it to respective departments. The activities will be analyzed and the information received will be sent as a daily report to the relevant departments. The toll-free number is the best platform provided by the government at free of cost to its people. The technicalities are maintained by Karvy. The call center employees will also get in touch with the people based on the telephone numbers already available with the government to better understand their response.

Jagan picks up Guntur once again for his deeksha

Guntur: Opposition leader and YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had once again picked up Guntur for his protest. This time again for two days and it would be to highlight the issues of the farmers and the failures of the government. He would be on the two-day protest from April 26.

The farmers of mangoes, chillies, turmeric green gram have been facing severe crisis with the prices falling alarmingly this year. While the green gram crop is totally lost in several parts of the State pushing the farmers into deep crisis, the prices of chillies, turmeric and even mangoes have come down by two to three times when compared with the previous year. In addition to this the farmers across the State have been facing severe drought. The State government had declared 301 revenue mandals drought hit and had sent proposals to the Center for financial support. Taking all these factors, and also the loan waiver issue, into consideration, Jaganmohan Reddy would be on a two-day protest.

Earlier, Jaganmohan Reddy had held a similar protest in Guntur on September 26, 2015 against the delay in announcing Special Category Status to the State. In October same year, he held a protest in Guntur against the RTC tariff hike. This time he is planning for a two-day protest and the venue is likely to be the Mirchi Yard area on the outskirts of Guntur.

While the reasons he had chosen to protest are political, there is a strategic plan to decide on Guntur as venue for his protests. As the capital, Amaravati, is located between Vijayawada and Guntur, the area has less grip for Jaganmohan Reddy on the social combination. The Amaravati is dominated by the Kamma community that owns the ruling Telugu Desam Party and it would be next to impossible for Jaganmohan Reddy to capture it politically. However, as politician, it is not wise to lose the capital though he has no base or low base. The advantage for him is the Tadepalli mandal, which is part of the capital and it is here Jaganmohan Reddy is relocating his residence and party office, because of the presence of Reddy community. The mandal is predominantly held by the Reddy community which is the reason for Jaganmohan Reddy to feel comfortable. In Guntur district, the Reddy community is strong in the Palnadu region. If ruling TDP feels it is comfortable in Amaravati with the Kamma community playing a dominant role, the YSR Congress is placed comfortably on the outskirts of the capital. It is for this reason, Jaganmohan Reddy is holding protest in Guntur and is believed to have decided to make it as his base to hit at the ruling TDP.

AP govt moves forward on land pooling, farmers look for muted Pawan

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government had made one step forward to take the lands of the farmers who have not given their lands in land pooling system to the government for the new capital. The government had issued land acquisition notification last week, notifying the lands of Undavalli and Penumaka villages that have been refusing to give land to the government for capital. The government had issued the notification under Clauses 1 (1), (B) under the Andhra Pradesh Land Acquisition, Relief and Rehabilitation Rules 2014.

While the government had notified 29 villages of Thulluru, Tadepalli and Mangalagiri mandals for the capital – Amaravati – and took up the land pooling system to collect the lands from farmers, the villages under Tadepalli and Mangalagiri have been resisting the pooling system. They have put up banners in Undavalli and Penumaka villages of Tadepalli mandal, Yerrupalem and Bethapudi of Mangalagiri mandal refusing to give their lands. Several of them have approached the courts against land pooling, while some of them have not given the required papers accepting the land pooling system. It was in these villages, Opposition leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan have toured in 2016 in support of the farmers. While Jaganmohan Reddy had promised to return their lands if they wanted once he came to power, Pawan Kalyan advised the government not to use force to take the lands. He had even asked the government not to issue land acquisition notification. Now that the government had issued the notification, the farmers are looking towards Pawan Kalyan to save their lands.

“Pawan Kalyan had promised to stand by us and he had promised to fight for us if the government issued land acquisition notification. Now, the government had issued the notification. We have sent a representation to the Jana Sena chief and waiting for him to react,” said Penumaka farmers’ leader Naresh Reddy. A team of farmers have also approached Pawan Kalyan seeking his intervention to save their lands.

The government can’t move even a inch forward in developing the new capital, Amaravati, if it failed to take lands in Undavalli and Penumaka, the mouth of the capital. It is by passing through these villages, one can reach Amaravati and it required lands to lay roads and bridges. The proposed six-lane Seed Access Road from Kanakadurga Varadhi (Chennai-Kolkata national highway) to Thulluru would require lands in Undavalli and Penumaka which are not given yet to the government. If these lands are not taken, the government cannot lay the road from Vijayawada to reach the new capital zone. The government would have to take a new route from Mangalagiri to the core capital area passing through Kuragallu, Neerukonda and Inavolu. The existing flood bank passing along the river from Prakasam Barrage is another option for the government if it cannot get the lands of Undavalli and Penumaka villages. The flood bank (karakatta) can be expanded and used as access road to the capital from Vijayawada through Prakasam Barrage. However, as Prakasam Barrage requires to be closed once in a year for maintenance of the gates, the government would have to use an alternative and permanent road from Kanakadurga Varadhi. This too has a big problem as the farmers of Tadepalli through which the road has to be formed, are opposed to the land acquisition. Caught in a critical situation like this, the government had issued the notification to acquire 680 acres of land in Penumaka village.

Farmers’ leader Naresh Reddy expressed confidence that Pawan Kalyan would come to their rescue and save them from the forcible acquisition of their lands. It is to be seen how Pawan Kalyan would react to the request from the farmers to whom he had promised to stand by.

0

Master designers of Amaravati ?

0

Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu seems to be keen on experimenting with high-tech architecture and natural light in the construction of capital Amaravati.

Today he had consultations with world’s most decorated architects in the field. Two architects of international repute in the field are in the race to bag the contract of designing the core capital of Amarvati. It is not clearly known, if they vie or unite to design the proposed capital city of Andhra Pradesh. Once friends and now competitors, Lord Norman Foster and Richard Rogers are in consultations with chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Recently they locked horns to get the contract of Taiwan International airport.

State government stared consultations with experts to give shape to the chief minister Naidu’s idea of Amaravati. Though the state government invited three experts, the third one Harry Cooler is unlikely to join. But the two architects, Lord Norman Robert Foster and Richard Rogers are said to have agreed to participate in the construction of Capital city. Lord Norman and Richard Rogers had a meeting with chief ministery N Chandrababu Naidu today in Vijayawada on Friday and discussed the various aspects of the Amaravati city.

Manchester born Norman Foster left school at 16, to work in the city’s treasurer’s office before going to be Manchester University’s School of Architecture and City Planning. In 1961 he won a fellowship to Yale University in USA, where he met Richard Rogers. The two set up in practice together in 1963 founding a firm called Team 4,with their respective wives of the time, Wendy Cheesman and Su Rogers. But, the Team 4 did not last more than four year. In 1967, Foster formed his own firm called ‘Foster and Partners’. Eschewing the usual Concrete shell favored by other architects, Foster uses modern materials , especially steel and glass and opted wherever possible natural light.

London’s British Museum, Berlin’s Reichstag, Beijing airport, Hearst Tower in New York are some of the most important structure where one can see signature of Foster (76). In 1999 he was awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize, which is often referred to as the Nobel Prize of architecture. In 2009 Foster was awarded the Prince of Asturias Award in the Arts category. In 1994 he received the AIA Gold Medal. The Willis Faber and Dumas building in Ipswich, completed in 1974 was Foster’s big break. The first of many glass-sheathed office complexes , the building’s entrance featured two large escalators, a turfed roof garden and an Olympic sized pool in the basement.

Rogers studied at the Architectural Association in London (1954–59) and Yale University (1961–62). In 1977 Rogers created the Richard Rogers Partnership, a firm featuring some of the designers who worked on the Pompidou Centre. He gained more international attention for his spectacular Lloyds of London skyscraper (1978–86). Rogers’s work reached its greatest audience when he designed the Millennium Dome(1996–99) in Greenwich, England. Among Rogers’s later works is Terminal 4 (2005) at Madrid Barajas International Airport; the structure, which earned the Royal Institute of British Architects’ Stirling Prize in 2006, features an undulating roof and is noted for its use of light. Rogers received a number of other awards, including the Japan Art Association’s Praemium Imperial prize for architecture in 2000 and the Pritzker Prize in 2007. In 1995 he became the first architect to deliver the annual BBC Reith Lectures, a series of radio talks; these were later published as Cities for a Small Planet (1997). Rogers was knighted in 1991 and was made a life peer in 1996.

Amaravati hype generates more disunity than Pride

0

From now onwards the construction of Amaravati will be a low key affair. There won’t be any high profile functions or boasting excessively about the yet to be born world class capital. TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu has reportedly instructed all the TDP leaders and ministers to refrain from creating too much hype about Amaravati. He is specifically asked the ministers, even his media team, no to publicize too much about the happenings in and about Amaravati. The chief minister alone will talk on the subject.

Naidu is said to have realized that the cost of hype was too dear. He also reportedly acknowledged that the backlash is being strongly felt outside Krishna and Guntur districts. The sources of enlightenment of downside of the far too much hype is the absence adequate representation from Rayalaseema districts, especially from Anantapuramu at the Disha Nirdesha meeting held at Tirupati. Naidu used to say that Anantapuramu was the district he loves much after East and West Godavari for having sent maximum number of TDP members to the Assembly. In the two-day brainstorming session held at Tirupati last week, Naidu gave a patient audience to the voices from within the party which sensed the damage being done to the image of organization by the highlighting Amaravati excessively. The leaders from Rayalaseema and North Coastal districts, including some cabinet ministers are said to have told their boss that splurging of crores of rupees to create Amaravati brand has created inevitable backlash among the many section of the society.

According to party sources, they raised three points:

A. The ostentatious celebration of foundation stone laying ceremony, instead of creating ‘Andhra Pride’ alienated some regions from the party;

B. An impression that for chief minister Naidu there is nothing beyond Amaravati has gained ground in districts;

C. All development is getting concentrated in the Amaravati area to make it appear world-class city and nothing would come to their districts;

D. The resentment in the Rayalaseema region is the obvious backlash of excessive campaign associated with the foundation stone laying program of Amaravati’

E. Naidu is working like chief minister of CRDA and E. Even before the construction of core capital began, Rajamahendravaram TDP MP Murali Mohan’s real estate venture had got the environmental clearance. Many raised the question that how did Murali Mohan get his land exempted by the CRDA from being taken over under land pooling or land acquisition. When did he buy the land ? This, in their view, had strengthened the accusation that Amaravati hype is being created by the government only to promote real estate interests of some key pro-TDP businessmen.

Naidu, unusually, is said to have taken note of all the points. Convinced of the logic, Naidu has asked all leaders and ministers to be cautious about boasting of Amaravati, world-class capital.

According to a senior TDP leader, who is also a politburo member, Naidu’s plans have gone haywire in the promotion of Amaravati as the world-class capital. ” Naidu’s calculations went wrong. He did Amaravati campaign with a good intention. He thought , the capital talk would create a ‘Andhra Pride’ among the people of three regions in the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh. He expected that everybody would take pride in their capital which is going to be the world’s most modern capital. So, he publicized every event associated with Amaravati as if it was an international affair. Instead of generating an Andhra sentiment, it in fact alienated the people of some regions from the party and the government. Opposition parties are also successful in driving home the point that he is diverting all funds to the capital construction and their districts get nothing,” he said.

In the meeting, it was decided that party and government should refrain from creating hype of Amaravati instead focus on the development aspects being taken all the 13 districts, he said. He would spend more time in the districts tours and reviews about the investment proposals in the districts, he added.

Amaravati enters guinness world records

0

The capital Amaravati construction project is now a Guinness record. The rare feat was made possible by the novel scheme ‘My Brick My Amaravati” the chief minister N Chandrababau Naidu launched last month.
The program basically intended to involve all the Telugu people, including those living in far off places on the globe, to become partners in the construction of the new capital in one way or the other. The campaign was devised on crowd funding technique to increase people’s participation in the capital development process. The crowdfunding project uses a concept of selling e-bricks at the cost of 10 rupees/brick. A donor can choose the number of bricks, he wants to donate and use online payment to make the donation , the donor’s name along with their city & state are listed in the donors page once the donors payment is successfully processed. The campaign was an instant success. As on November 13, as many as 2,14,230 people donated 46, 50,477 e-bricks for the construction of the capital. The online sales reached peak on November 10.
According to Vijayawada MP Kesineni Nani a world record had been attempted through this novel campaign. The party had attempted to achieve a world record in the people’s participation in the construction of a capital city. “Nowhere has such an experiment been conducted in the world,” he said adding that, they wanted this record by attracting maximum online donations from individuals for a cause in any 24 hour-time. “We achieved the feat on Tuesday (November 10) when as many as 1,43,740 individuals purchased e-bricks from across Andhra Pradesh,” said K. Pattabhiram, member of the State TDP committee monitoring the campaign.

According to Pattabhiram the Amaravati project had broken the earlier record of 1,05,800 online buying by individuals in 24 hours for a cause by a Chinese NGO. “It is a tough task to mobilize such mass online buying. We have enrolled 500 volunteers to help the donors make online purchase of the e-bricks. There had been the constant fear of websites crashing due to excess traffic, the payment gateway may stop functioning. But finally, we made it and informed the Chief Minister that we had a splendid Deepavali gift for him,” said Pattabhiram.

The representatives of the Guinness Book of World Record are expected to issue the record certificate in the next 10 days to the officials of the CRDA. The TDP conducted a 10-day campaign in the state state to create awareness among the people on the need to donate for Amaravati by buying the e-bricks. The response was unprecedented and people from all corners of the State came forward to become partners in the construction of Amaravati and the ‘ my brick my Amaravati ‘ a grand success.

Naidu plans roads to ‘build bridges’ with R’seema

0

To remove the feeling that new capital Amaravati is foreign from the minds of agitating people of Rayalaseema, state government has approved a plan to build four-lane and six-lane roads  connecting the three district headquarters of the region with new capital Amaravati.  Take heart all those Rayalaseema people who feel Amaravati is faraway than Bangalore and Hyderabad,  the Rayalaseema region will not only be connected to Amaravati, but also the Krishnapatnam port. Along with the roads that connect Kadapa, Anantapuramu and Kurnool with emerging capital city Amaravati,  development of another road from Krishnapatnam, Kadapa, Gooty linking the Hyderabad-Bangalore will also be taken up. All these proposals got cleared by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday night. In a highlevel meeting, held in temporary capital Vijayawada, Naidu reviewed the steps being taken to develop the roads in the successor state of Andhra Pradesh. Naidu instructed the official to develop the coastal road running from Itchapuram -Thada on the lies of the road laid between San Francisco and Las Angeles. A team of senior officials is expected to visit the US to study the coastal roads in US and Australia  along with other major countries that have beautiful roads, sources said.

The Rayalaseema-Amaravati Road will pass through Nallamala Forest area. Three four-lane roads – one each from Anantapur, Kurnool and Kadapa – will be laid and all the three would merge into a six-lane road in Nallamala forest area and would then be laid as single road to the state capital.

As per the present connectivity, the distance between Anantapur and Amaravati is about 472 km and if the  road is straightened as shown in the picture , the distance become is cut by 86 km. Without disturbing forest area or causing any damage to water bodies on the way, the road will to be laid. The total distance the road travels through the forest area would be only 25 km and two to three tunnels would have to be constructed. If this road is laid, the travel time between Anantapur and Amaravati would be only five hours. The two roads that would emerge from Kadapa and Kurnool will also join the Anantapur-Amaravati road. The total distance of all the roads put together would be 800 km.  The chief minister also cleared laying of a four lane road from Krishnapatnam to join Hyderabad-Bangalore Highway via Rapuru, Kadapa, chitvelu, Tadipatri, Gooty. Will these roads bring the hearts together?

Mysoora disowns capital Amaravati

0

While YSR party president Jaganmohan Reddy is treading cautiously on Amaravati issue, his colleagues from Rayalaseema are not. In a clear indication of difference of opinion in the party on Amaravati,  senior YSR Congress leader M V  Mysoora Reddy  disowned the new capital under construction. It was a real estate venture encouraged by the state government, he said in a panel discussion in news channel. He ridiculed the capital tagline ” people’s capital”.  “Urban affairs expert Sivaramkrishnan categorically recommended against  going in for  capital construction between Vijayawada and Guntur. But the present government with vengeance has selected the fertile region for the construction of the capital.” he said in the discussion.

Talking to  ‘telugu360.com’ later Mysoora Reddy said ” We (Rayalaseema people) have nothing to do with the so called capital Amaravati. It his  (Chief minister) capital and he is building in the way that pleases him,” he said.

Jaganmohan Reddy on the other hand has never expressed his views by capital Amaravati, though it clearly violated the  Sir Bagh pact and harmed the interests of the people.  Jagan is hamstrung on Amaravati because, any negative stand on  Amaravati would alienate the party in Krishna and Guntur districts, where the party has honorable presence.

But, the Jagan’s silence on Rayalaseema has not gone down well in Rayalaseema.   Some think, fielding of Mysoora Reddy on Rayalaseema is to reassure the people of Rayalaseema that Jagan’s silece was only a tactful and the party is committed to Rayalaseema. Party circles say Mysoora Reddy is opposed to Jagan’s ambiguous stand on Amaravati and is coming out now as the R-Sentiment is spreading like wildfire in the region.
