Shockingly low openings for Christmas Releases

Raj Tarun’s Iddari Lokam Okate and Mythri’s Mathu Vadalara released today on the eve of Christmas. Keeping the word of mouth aside, both the films registered shockingly low openings across the Telugu states. Right from A to C centers, both the films opened with 20% occupancy (on average) across AP and Telangana which is quite low. Both films need to receive exceptional talk to stand well and rake decent revenues.

Mathu Vadalara will be restricted to multiplex audience and Iddari Lokam Okate will appeal to a section of youth. Iddari Lokam Okkate is directed by GR Krishna and is produced by Dil Raju. Mathu Vadalara is directed by Ritesh Rana and it marks the debut of Keeravani’s sons Sri Simha and Kaala Bhairava.

MM Keeravani’s son Simha Koduri is making his debut with Mathu Vadalaraa which is an innovative attempt. Though the trailer sounded unique, there are no audience looking towards the film. Ritesh Rana is making his debut as a director and Kala Bhairava is composing the music. Trade analysts predict that both these films will open on a low note and it is the word of mouth that decides the fate of these films.

Dil Raju disconnected with Iddari Lokam Okate

Dil Raju is one producer who is outspoken about his films. During the events, he reveals several facts that happened behind the screen. He produced Raj Tarun’s Iddari Lokam Okate which is carrying low buzz. The pre-release event took place last night and during his speech, Dil Raju said that he was completely disconnected with the film. “I watched the first half of Iddari Lokam Okate and was left completely disconnected and did not watch the second half,” said Raju.

Soon, he said that he suggested changes and watched the final copy last month. “After making changes, I liked the first half which was passable. The second half of Iddari Lokam Okate has good emotions and the climax will impress the audience big time. On the whole, Iddari Lokam Okate is a decent attempt” said Raju. The film was screened for college students yesterday and Dil Raju announced that special screenings are planned in Nellore (Monday), Vizag (Tuesday) and in Melbourne (Wednesday).

Directed by GR Krishna, Iddari Lokam Okate features Raj Tarun and Shalini Pandey in the lead roles. The film hits the screens on December 25th.

Confusion about release dates is continuing. As suspense about ‘Venky Mama’ is going on, producer Dil Raju has now decided to release his new movie for the Christmas festival. The remake of 96 has been pushed to February next year.

Buzz is that Dil Raju may now release Raj Tarun starrer ‘Iddari Lokam Okate’ on 25th December, a week after Sai Dharam Tej, Ravi Teja and Balakrishna’s movies get released. These three heroes are competing with each other with their films ‘Prati Roju Pandage’, ‘Disco Raja’ and ‘Ruler’ respectively on December 20. A week later, there is a window for a small movie’s release. And this is where ‘Iddari Lokam Okate’ fits the bill.

Dil Raju has now stopped the promotions of Raj Tarun’s movie. An official announcement is expected shortly.
