KCR to announce TRS war-horse today

0

Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao seems to have realized that winning the Warangal Lok Sabha is not a cake walk given the dip in the popularity level of the government following many flip-flops on issues such as loan waiver, farmers’ suicides, KG to PG education etc, he asked seven ministers to make sure the ruling party wins the election. Finance minister Etala Rajender will take care of parakala segment while chief minister’s on and IT minister Taraka Ramarao is made in charge of Warangal West. Irrigation minister has been asked to ensure majoirty from  Warangal East. Power minister Jgandiswar Reddy will concentrate in Palakurthi and agriculture minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy in Bhupal Palli.  A Indrakaran Reddy and Jogu Ramanna are responsible for Station Ghanpur and Vardhanna pet assembly segments respectively.

He has begun the exercise to pickup the winning horse for Warangal race, and the name of the candidate is expected to be announced on Friday. The chief minister went into a huddle with his party seniors, ministers, MLAs, MPs and leaders from Warangal district on Thursday to  counter the opposition strategy to cash in on the anti-incumbency generated for the government in the 16 months.

It is learnt Gudimalla Ravi Kumar is the most preferred candidate. Ravikumar, now party secretary, is an advocate from Warangal and he participated actively in the Telangana movement.

The TRS is planning to launch its campaign with a bang wtih an Assembly-level meeting on November 1. KCR will campaign on November 17 and 18, just days before the polling day, to boost the winning chances of the party candidate. The polling is slated on November 21. The dealy in announcing the candidate is mainly attributed to the fact the there were too many candidates aspiring the ticket and KCR had not only to pacify them and ensure that they all participated in the campaign.

The party is banking on the TDP Rajya Sabha MP Gundu Sudharani’s joining the party,   and recently launched two-bed room house of poor,  Kakatiya  mission , water grid project along with proposal to develop  Warangal in  to a smart city to counter negative propaganda of opposition parties.

KCR to reciprocate Naidu’s Amaravati gesture

0

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is going to reciprocate Andhra chief minister Chandrababu Naidu’s invitation to  Amaravati on Vijayadasami Day. Rao, will soon go to the residence of Chandrababu Naidu in Hyderabad, when he is available in joint capital, to invite  him to the Chandi Yagam, scheduled on December 23. The Yagam will be performed at his Erravalli farm-house.

Chadrasekhar Rao is inviting all important personalities across the country to the Yagam which he performs every year. This year, it is going to be a national event.  Chief minister, who left for New Delhi this evening, is meeting President  Pranabh Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with some other union ministers tomorrow to invite them to the Yagam. He is expected to invite BJP national  president Amit Shah as well.

According to highly placed sources in TRS , “Telangana  chief minister  Chandrasekhar Rao will visit Naidu’s residence along with his family and invite Naidu’s family including his son and daughter-in-law to the Yagam.  Most likely in mid November KCR is expected to pay a visit to the residence of Naidu.”

On Amavarati day i.e, October 22,2015  when PM was laying foundation stone for the new capital, Naidu  extended extraordinary reception to his Telangana counterpart, who was till other day his bête noire.   Chandrasekhar Rao was an extraordinary guest at the function. He was third important member on the dais,  the other two being Prime Minister Modi and union minister Venkaiah Naidu. This honor was not available to  senior most political leader of the state and former chief minister K Rosaiah.  At every ritual Naidu ensure KCR was there around. And the pinnacle of the importance was the etching of KCR’s name on the plaque the prime minister unveiled to commemorate the day. Thanks to the new found bon homie,  Naidu made KCR’s name unforgettable in the history of Amaravati.  A similar reception awaits Naidu at  Chandi Yagam,” a senior TRS leader told ‘telugu360.com’ .

KCR stood centre of attraction at Amaravati ceremony

0

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao buried all his past rivalries with Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu to attend the foundation laying ceremony for new state capital Amaravati. Interestingly, he stood the centre of attraction during the entire ceremony.

He flew in a special helicopter from Suryapet in Nalgonda district to reach Uddandarayunipalem, where TDP leader Maganti Gopinath received him. Eversince, PM Modi reached the venue, KCR and Babu were seen alongside Modi. People who attended the event commented that KCR was seen like he to belonged to AP and he stole the show by keeping aside all his bitterness with TDP and attending the event.

Interestingly, KCR’s name was also figured in the foundation stone pylon. Whenever the Telangana CM appeared on the LED TVs, there was a huge response from public. Babu felicitated KCR on stage and put his hand on KCR’s shoulder, people who attended the event were expressing their excitement. Telangana CM was also appreciated by political analysts and public for announcing that Telangana government would extend all the possible support for the development of Amaravati.

This would definitely pave way for friendly development between the two Telugu governments.

KCR to make his visit to Andhra after 14 years

0

It was already know that Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met his Telangana counterpart personally on October 18 and invited him to the foundation laying ceremony of new capital Amaravati on October 22.

Interestingly, Telangana CM responded positively and decided to attend the event and the CMO has cancelled all his programs on October 22. The inauguration of KCR’s most prestigious project of two bedroom flats for poor in IDH colony.

KCR who has led the Telangana movement will be stepping in Andhra region after 14 years. Though he was scheduled to attend a public meeting in Vijayawada by Jai Andhra and AP Dalit Mahasabha in 2010 but that programme got cancelled due to cyclone Laila.

Later his visit to Andhra area to speak on benefits on division of state was also cancelled due to security reasons.

However, TRS party sources say that their leader will visit Lord Venkateswara in Tirupati and Goddess Kanaka Durga atop Indrakeladri in next few months and a budget of Rs 5.5 crore was also allocated for the same.

The CM was initially planned to take road way from Suryapet in Nalgonda district but due to suggestion from officials that there would be a traffic jam due to foundation laying ceremony on October 22. The plan is now that KCR will reach Amravati by a chopper for the occasion.

Both leaders met after a long gap and lot of political differences in the past one year. But, the occasion of Amaravati construction compelled Naidu bury hatchet and drive down the Begumpet camp office of T-Chief minister.
I may be recalled that at the first meeting in Raj Bhavan after the bifurcation of state, KCR suggested Naidu to build the capital in the river front lands Krishna as river side capital is auspicious for the state.

“Telangana is now a crisis-state”

0

Leader of Opposition in Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir accused chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao of showing utter disrespect to the democracy and ignoring conventions of the legislature. He wondered as to why the CM was hesitating to hold the promised all-party meeting Pranahita and other irrigation projects, which the CM was revamping unilaterally.

“You promised to hold all party meeting on Pranahita Chevella and other irrigation projects on the floor of Assembly and now you took a U-turn. This is nothing but utter disrespect for the Constitution and Assembly. Stop behaving in this immature manner. Your wrong approach has pushed the State into financial crisis and continuance of such behavior would only add to the losses,” he said. Under KCR leadership, Shabbir Ali said, the Telangana was falling into a ‘Crisis State’.

” The wrong policies of TRS Government have pushed Telangana into one crisis after the other. He turned Rs. 7500 crore revenue surplus Telangana, into a State with over Rs. 70,000 crore debt in just 16 months. As on today, the State’s exchequer has a balance of about Rs. 1800 crore while at least Rs. 3100 crore are needed to pay salaries and pensions. The TRS Government must issue a White Paper giving exact status of State’s finances,” demanded Shabbir Ali.

Shabbir Ali said that the education sector is in a state of neglect due to non-payment of fee reimbursement dues, lack of Vice-Chancellors in all 11 State universities and shortage of staff and other facilities in almost all institutions. The Congress leader also slammed the Chief Minister for taking immature decisions and reversing the same after a while. “KCR has become a U-turn Chief Minister. He took more than 15 U-turns in the last 15 months,” he said.

“KCR latest U-turn is on Metro Rail project route. He objected on the HMR route at Maozamjahi Market and Assembly building. Works were stopped for almost 16 months causing huge financial losses. Now he took a U-turn and said that the HMR authorities could go ahead with the original route plan. Who is responsible for the delay and huge financial losses?” he asked.

Digvijaya Singh fires on Telangana CM

0

In the wake of farmer’s suicides in Telangana, Congress and TDP along with othe opposition parties have been protesting against Telangana government. Latest addition to this list of politicians who are criticising Telangana chief minister KCR and his governance is general secretary of All India Congress Committee, Digvijaya Singh. This senior leader who recently got married to a TV journalist has alleged that the state is been ruled by KCR and his family in a dictatorial manner.

KCR has deceived the people of Telangana by forgetting all the promises he made and mentioned in his manifesto during assembly elections, Digvijay added. He also fired that the governance in the state is haywire and none of KCR’s welfare programmes are reaching the farmers.

The state government’s unwilling attitude to help farmers has been prompting them to take extreme steps, the congress leader stated. Digvijay also informed that Congress party is the only party which is fighting against the government for the welfare of farmers.

Meanwhile, he also supported YSRCP leader Jaganmohan Reddy for his fight for special status against TDP in Andhra Pradesh. He advised Jagan that he should not risk his health for the cause as other parties would also come in support of him for the welfare of the state.

KCR avoiding 12 pc Muslim quota : Shabbir Ali

0

Leader of Opposition in Telangana State Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir has strongly condemned the TRS Government for not extending the 12% quota to Muslims in the ongoing recruitment drive.

Shabbir Ali said by extending the term of Sudhir Commission of Inquiry till March 31, 2016, the TRS Government has found an excuse to delay the implementation of promise of providing 12% reservation to Muslims in jobs and education. Muslim students already lost two academic years and job aspirants did not get 12% share in the ongoing recruitment through Telangana State Public Service Commission and other agencies.

Shabbir Ali demanded that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao stop misleading the Muslim community on the issue of 12% reservation. He should directly constitute a Backward Classes Commission to implement his promise. He said that the Sudhir Commission has no legal sanctity and it is not empowered to recommend any reservation. It can only provide latest statistics related to Muslim backwardness. This was confirmed by none other than Committee’s member Dr. Amerullah Khan in an open press conference. He said that the data related to Muslim backwardness is already available with the State Government which it collected through Intensive Household Survey. By analysing the existing data, the State Government can easily provide reservation through a BC Commission, he said.

The Congress leader described the Sudhir Commission as a ‘time pass’ committee and by extending its term for another six months, KCR emulated former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu who kept on extending the term of Puttuswamy Commission for nine years. The Puttuswamy Commission was constituted by the Congress Government in 1994 to provide reservation to Muslims in the State. However, the then TDP Government just extended its term and finally Puttuswamy resigned from his post after nine years without giving a single line report. The Sudhir Committee too will meet the same fate, he feared.

The Congress leader demanded that TRS Government immediately constitute a BC Commission if he was really serious on providing 12% reservation to Muslims.

“In KCR’s Telangana, Assembly losing relevance”

0

Leader of Opposition in Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir said chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was destroying the sanctity of the Assembly and he was cutting the number of days of session gradually as he doesn’t want to face the opposition questions on the all round failure of the government.
It was not the commitment to discuss the problems to engage the opposition to find solutions to these problems but the constitutional obligation that was responsible for the summoning of the Assembly last week, he said.

Shabbir Ali said that the previous Congress regime had a history of holding Assembly sessions for about 40 days, the TRS Government has damaged convention by reducing Assembly and Council sessions to a formality. In 2014, he said, the Assembly functioned for just 25 days and this year, the period got further cut just to 22 days.

“KCR openly enacted the drama of Assembly session and ran away from debating public issues. After the suspension of entire opposition, the Assembly session turned into TRS Legislature Party meeting. If KCR was serious, then he should have continued the session till October 10, as decided by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC). Instead, he closed up the session three days earlier showing utter disrespect for democracy, Constitution and Legislative norms,” he said.

“As per Article 85 of the Constitution of India, it is mandatory to convene Assembly session once in every six months. Failing which, might lead to dissolution of the Cabinet and even House. Since last Assembly session concluded on March 26, KCR could not have delayed the session this time even by a day,” he said.

“On October 1, Assembly was adjourned in just seven minutes and in the next sitting, entire opposition was suspended from the House for remainder of the session in just 12 minutes. No public issues were discussed during the monsoon session,” said Shabbir Ali and asked what does it indicate?
He said his party would also agitate to save democracy in the state of Telangana.

Thanks to KCR, Cong & TDP no longer enemies

0

Amid the opposition preparations for Telangana bandh, chief minister KCR reportedly acknowledged that some bad blood had indeed generated between the government and people of the state. He also felt the need to bridge this immediately.

Late realization is always better than the refusing to realize. After Vijayadasami, KCR will hit the roads. First, he wants to tour the district headquarters. Later, in his new Rs 5 crore-luxury bus, which has not yet been put to use, the chief minister will crisis cross the state explaining the people the causes for the misgivings among the people about the government and the role of opposition parties. KCR is hoist with his own petard. He boasted on the first day of Assembly that he was ready to conduct the Assembly session even for fifteen days to allow debate on every topic the opposition raises. He thought by extending the house for few more days, he could give statements on all hot topics like farmers suicides, irrigation projects, loan waiver, state finances etc. But, the government took a wrong decision to suspend the entire opposition for the whole session, which normally never happens. Suspending members are common these days. But after suspension, speaker would work towards striking a compromise between treasury and opposition benches. Here, this did not happen. Even though government could get rid of trouble makers by suspending them ( 28 members) from the house, but, it also lost a great opportunity to explain away things that have put the government in poor light. As the entire opposition consisting of Congress, TDP, BJP, CPI and CPM have upped the ante, the chief minister has now no option but to dust off his new bus for a Yatra. According to reports, the suspension of entire opposition and adjourning the House sine die has not gone down well with his own MLAs.KCR is said to have agreed with them in yesterday’s TRSLP. “We could not put across our point on the floor of the Assembly,” was the KCR’s opinion. KCR has never expected the sort of opposition unity that happened in the state now. Barring MIM, all parties joined hands. What makes tomorrows bandh unique is the bandh call is given by jointly by two arch rivals Congress-TDP. This rare unity among the opposition has compelled KCR to admit that there has been something wrong on the part of the government that was responsible for the unity between two rivals Congress and TDP. So, the chief minister now has taken upon himself to launch counter offensive by touring every mandal in the state. Politics apart, KCR tour will provide a rare spectacle to the people of Telangana to see for themselves how a Rs 5 crore worth luxury bus looks like. Except for some media people and a dozen or two TRS leaders, the Telangana people have not had opportunity to see the bus bought with the money they contributed in form of taxes.

KCR to tour districts to counter opposition offensive

0

Telangana looks like a politically disturbed area. All political parties are out of capital. Congress, TDP, BJP, CPI, CPM and Left groups have been on the roads on one or the other ranging from cheap liquor, Pranahita-Chevella scrapping, farmer suicides etc. The suspension of the entire opposition has further inspired these parties to round the state and meet the families of the farmers who committed suicides, warangal encounter killing and visiting project sites, staging dharnas, rasta rokos and now on yatras. The Opposition parties have taken to the streets in the name of a Rytu Paramarsa Yatra to instill confidence among farmers and to appeal to them not to take the extreme step due to drought or inability to repay debt. To some extent the opposition parties are able to dent the image of TRS government by painting it as anti-farmer.

To counter this, now chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is planning to tour the state and explain the government position on various issues. According to Irrigation and legislative affairs minister T Harish Rao after the session, the CM will take up the districts-tours to counter Opposition charges against the government. The CM also participate in some developmental programs as well. He will explain progress on Water Grid program, Kakatiya mission, Kaleswaram Irrigation Project corporation program and the Palamuru- Ranga Reddy project and how these projects would transform the face of Telangana in a couple of years.

TDP to do YSRC in Telangana

0

Strange are the ways of the politicians in Telugu states. Once Telanana’s arch rival YSRC president Jagan is now a friend of KCR family. TDP once an ally of TRS, is its enemy number 1. Once believed to merge, TRS and Congress are now competing to liquidate each other in politics. Another strange twist is happening in Telangana now . The TDP, is going to hit the road in the new state like Jagan, who is on unending yatra in Andhra Pradesh against farmers’ suicides. In Andhra the YSRC president alleges the suicides in the state have been the result of incomplete loan waiver as the loan installments have only added up to woes of the farmers forcing them to take extreme step of ending their life.

In Telangana, the TDP has taken up same cause and with the same logic. The party is demanding an one-time settlement of debt under loan waiver scheme. The party has set a deadline to TRS government to announce one-time settlement by October 9 or face state wide bandh on October 10. Only difference is in Andhra Pradesh Jagan, true to his dominant nature, is fighting alone, in Telangana the TDP is making common cause with Congress, CPI, CPM, BJP and many other left parties.

The Telangana Telugu Desam Party announced that it was planning a bus yatra in protest against the “anti farmer” policies of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s TRS government. The bus yatras will be organized in association with BJP, it ally. T-TDP president L Ramana and Polit Bureau member R Chandrasekhar Reddy launched their bus yatra today. They expressed concern that the agriculture sector is in crisis and the entire Opposition had been mounting pressure on the government to stop the chain of suicides in the State. They also demanded remunerative prices to farmers. They demanded that the government implement one- time waiver of loans for farmers as assured and moratorium on the loans obtained from the private money lenders to provide relief to farmers which were dire financial stress which was forcing them to commit suicide. on Tuesday, both TDP and BJP started protest fast on the same issue in Gajwel, the constituency of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

“Suspending the entire opposition from Assembly is undemocratic step and shows the dictatorial attitude of chief minister KCR. The manner in which Chandrasekhar Rao is harping on Krishna pushkarams due only next year exposes how serious the government is tackling the crisis faced by farmers,” Ramana said.

They said about 1,535 farmers committed suicide in different parts of the State during the 15-month TRS government rule.

KCR plans to earmark 25 pc budget to Irrigation

0

Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is planning to allocate unbelievably large sums to the irrigation department in order to show the priority he attached to the irrigation projects.

In a review meeting he held on Saturday, he said he was going to allocate Rs 25,000 crore to the irrigation department. This is equal to 25 per cent of state’s annual budget. An unprecedented share for any sector indeed. One doubts if the state has capacity and capabilities to spend that much of amount in a year. Because, never during the past 10-year Congress period, had so much money been allocated for irrigation department, even though YS Rajasekhar Reddy also had given top priority to Jalayagnam. The highest amount he allocated per year had never crossed Rs 12,000 crore and department failed to spend the whole amount. Now KCR says his top priority is irrigation department and he would allocate only the left over to the other departments.

He asked the official to hire the services of retired engineers if necessary. He also instructed the GENCO to get ready to provide enough electricity commensurate with the speed of the irrigation department and work in coordination with irrigation department which needs power for lift irrigation projects.

He also instructed the officials to complete the Palamuru -Ranga Reddy left irrigation project in two years doing away with the practice of completing the projects in eight -year cycle. He asked all the officials to start work on Pump house, tunnels, reservoir simultaneously and completed them in two years.

KTR guarantees three terms for father KCR

0

According to KT Ramarao, Telangana IT minister and son of chief minister Chandrasekharao , his father will remain as chief minister for three-terms. Talking to a news channel on Saturday, he said,” we want to work under chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao leadership for 15 years. So, there is no scope for differences with anybody, leave alone irrigation minister T Harish RAo.” When asked about the reported differences with Harish Rao, KCR’s sister’s son, Ramarao admitted that there did exist competition between his constituency Sircilla and Harish’s constituency Siddipet.

” This is a health competition between two constituencies. I expect such a competition among all MLAs. Harish Rao and myself were fully busy in our constituency works. When everything is KCR and he will be there for 15 years as chief minister, where is the scope for differences,” he said. The state’ s second in command reiterated that the TRS was pursuing the Maoist while stressing that there would be no compromise on the law and order situation.

In the backdrop of brutal killing of a two Maoists in an encounter in Warangal district, he said the TRS government had adopted the Maoist agenda and trying to implement it. ” As for the socio economic agenda, especially the distribution of land TRS government is still implementing the agenda of Maoists. But, with regard to the law and order situation, TRS government will act like any other responsible state in the country,” he said.

The clarified that the armed struggle of Maoists has never been our agenda.

Congress demands financial emergency in TS

0

Telangana Congress on Thursday demanded declaration of financial emergency in the state and sought immediate release of a white paper on state finances. Following chief minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao clarification that the state had no money for the one-time waiver of the farmers’ loans, Congress chief spokesperson Dr Shravan Dasoju said the state was on the verge of bankruptcy because of severe financial indiscipline in the TRS government.

In a press release, Dr Dasoju said the separate Telangana state had fallen victim of TRS government’s efforts to create an illusion in the eyes of public and investors that Telangana was surplus state and rich state. ” The government has inflated all budgetary figures to show that the small state of Telangana has larger than life size budget because of so called efficiency of TRS. The CM had misled the Assembly and the people. The Chief minister silently attempted to cover up this illusion by levying all taxes and resorting revenue generation methods, including introduction of cheap liquor. But, vigilant Telangana people have successfully thwarted these attempts. Now when Congress demanded one-time settlement of loans, the chief minister on one side and his son KTR on the other demand equal treatment for Telangana on a par with Bihar and special packages,” Dr Dasoju said asking why did the government send reports to the centre mentioning Telangana as a surplus state.

According to Dr Dasoju, the mask of the TRS government was torn apart. “To prevent the unrest errupt from the people, in the past 15 months chief ministers used every trick in the book. The CM wanted to divert the people‘s attention from the reality to the so called Telangana glory to survive. The government had spent Rs 600 crore on the Godavari Pushkaralu to create a wave of hype so that people could be bogged down by the glory . Later, the government allotted about Rs 182 crore on Sammakka Sarakka festival to invoke glory mantra again. Now KCR government is planning to spend huge amount to make people forget the real situation in the glory of T-culture in the name of Bathukamma festival. The farmers’ continued suicides are the result of government’s refusal to make one time settlement of the loan permanently,” he said.

Whenever Congress questioned the failure of the government, KCR would try to pass the buck to united Andhra Pradesh government, he accused. Stating that today’s adjournment of Assembly till Monday was a ploy to avoiding facing Congress party’s inconvenient questions, the Congress leader alleged.
” Normally, Assembly is adjourned for ten minutes to one hour only to strike rapprochement between the treasury and opposition benches. This type of declaring holiday, when the life of thousands of farmers is hanging in balance, is unheard of,” he said.

The Congress, he said , accorded statehood to Telangana at an enormous cost , not to see the state in tatters. ” Telangana is a mess now. Farmers suicides are all around. Government is not able to extend any help. Daily a dozen farmers are killing themselves cheated by their own government. Financial in discipline ruling roost. On one side there are no funds to help people , on the other, CM spends huge money on luxurious foreign trips, splurging in the name Telangana culture and invites tenders worth Rs 40,000 crore for water grid project,” he said demanding a white paper on the status state finances.

Government, instead of demanding special packages, should first place the facts and figures before the public and gain their confidence. He also said government should take all the parties into confidence to evolve a consensual approach to face the suicides, crisis in agriculture and paucity of funds.

Chhattisgarh to supply 1000 mw power to Telangana

0

Chhattisgarh is coming to the aide of power starved Telangana. The state will start supplying 1000 MW of power. It will soon be raised to 2000 MW in the next phase. On Tuesday, two states have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to supply 1,000 MW of power to Telangana in the presence of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the camp office. Following the division of Andhra Pradesh, new state of Telangana has become deficit state and is not able to provide the continuous power to domestic as well as farm sector. Power deficit has also contributed to the hostility between Andhra and Telangana.

Ease of Doing Business: TS upset over World Bank

0

The World Bank report on ease of doing business in the Indian states seems to have affected morale of the new-born Telangana state. The state expressed displeasure at the World Bank report that pushed the TS to the 13 positions with 42.45 pc. marks. Telangana government which recently released its investor-friendly industrial policy is hopeful of attracting huge investments. The very objective 10-day trip to China by chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is to woo Chinese investors to the state banking on the friendly enviroment created in the state by the TRS government. But, the findings of the World Bank study have told a different story. What worried the TRS is the time of the report ie it is made public when KCR busy in showcasing the investment attractiveness of Telangana. If it is an ordinary study, Telangana would not have taken this into congnizance. But, the reports is prepared World Bank in association with professional organizations.

TRS expressed doubts over authenticity of the report. Party MP from Bhongir Dr Boora Narasiah Goud said all the NDA ruled states had got good ranking in the report. ” As we all know , Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu stand first in attracting the investments. But, the ranks are given to Gujarat and Andhra Pradesh. And Telangana is assigned 13th rank. This naturally gives rise to doubts in the minds of the people,” he said questioning reliability of the parameters followed in the preparation of report.

“The T state is attracting investments in a big way. Telangana is faring well on all the parameters individually such as Corruption, Land availability, Getting permission, Power, Land registration etc. Then, how can Telangana be pushed to 13 position. Doubts are being raised on the authenticity of the report,” Dr Goud said.

He also said the preparation of report lacked transparency. ” An organization like World Bank should adopt a transparent methodology while assigning ranks to the state as a whole,” he added.

For the first time, YSRC harsh on KCR govt

0

For the first time, YSR Congress directly blamed the TRS Government in Telangana for the increasing number of suicides and its u-turn in keeping up the promise of loan waiver. YSR Congress said that for the past 15 months the KCR government has failed totally in coming to the rescue of the farmers.

‘TRS has included in the manifesto that it would waive loans up to Rs 1 lakh on coming to power, but has failed in keeping up the promise and has put the scheme on a staggered basis,’ YSRC Telangana president P Srinivas Reddy said. Reddy, however, took care not to utter name of chief minister KCR in his reaction. The party has never been harsh towards Telangana government and TRS party and it has been reciprocated. There have never been attempts to stall the visits of either YS Vijayalakshmi or Sharmila. YSR Congress supported TRS in Council elections. TDP used this not-so-open cooperation to attack TRS and YSRC alleging they were colluded. As if to prove this point, Jagan was more strident in his demand that Naidu be made A1 in cash-for-vote scam than the TRS.

In this backdrop came the harsh reaction against TRS government from Lotus Pond. Probably, the growing resentment from the opposition might have forced the YSRCP also to take a clear stand. The Jagan’s party lamented that while the number of suicides was on the rise, n exgratia had been paid so far.

‘We appeal to the farmers not to commit suicides as it is not the answer to the problems but should fight it out and assure that we will take up the issue with the right earnest,’ he said.

The loan waiver in piece-meal system would be of no use to the farmers, he added.

‘The farmers have poured their woes during the Paramarsa Yatra of Sharmila in Warangal district and wanted the YSR type of governance back as it was farmer-friendly,’ he said.
