Santosh Shoban and Mehreen played the lead roles in the film which is touted to be a comic entertainer that is inspired by the pandemic. UV Creations pooled out the funds for Manchi Rojulochaie. The film released today and here is the complete review of the film:
Story:
Manchi Rojulochaie is the story of Santhu (Santosh Shoban) and Paddu (Mehreen) who are in love. Paddu’s father Gopalam (Ajay Ghosh) has fears to the core in every aspect. His close friends Murthy and Koteswara Rao take this an advantage and creates much more fear pulling his leg. Gopalam is scared about his daughter Paddu falling in love with someone and he stages a hunt for the right guy to get her married. But unfortunately, he fails to find the right match for Paddu. The biggest shock comes for Gopalam in the form of his friend’s demise. The rest of Manchi Rojulochaie is all about his fears and how Santhu changes the mood of Gopalam and impresses him. Analysis:
Maruthi’s stories are quite simple and he pens a script taking a small incident or an episode. Comedy is his strength and it has been the USP for most of his successful films. Manchi Rojulochaie is not the story of Santosh Shoban or Mehreen, it is the story of Ajay Ghosh and he takes the major screen presence. The entire film revolves around his role. Maruthi made the character actor’s role as the lead and penned the script. The audience will be left in shock as it did not work out for Manchi Rojulochaie. There are enough flaws in the script and Maruthi made a mistake right from the core plot to the writing and the narration.
The entire film revolves around the roles of Gopalam and his poking friends who are focused on sharing things about his daughter. Most of the episodes are disappointing as the comedy did not work out from these incidents. Single layered scripts are quite difficult to narrate and if the story is weak, things turn out quite ugly. Maruthi was focused and wrote huge dialogues which never worked out. Manchi Rojulochaie is a film that has too many dialogues and fewer emotions. Though he said that he was inspired by coronavirus, the discussion of the pandemic comes during the pre-climax episodes. All those scenes and episodes are a huge misfire.
There is Maruthi mark comedy at times in the film. Appadala Vijayalakshmi’s role is decent and the episode of the phone conversation is good. Maruthi who had hilarious interval episodes in his films failed with Manchi Rojulochaie. The film has impressive comic scenes at times and this is not enough to impress the audience. There are double-meaning dialogues during the first 20 minutes of the film.
Performances:
Santosh Shoban has a boy next door looks and he did his part well. The audience should call him a lead actor as he has two songs with the heroine but coming to the screen presence and performance, Ajay Ghosh takes the lead. He got a full-length role for the first time in his career. He played well as a father who is in extreme fear. Mehreen lost huge weight and she looks glamorous in the role of Paddu. Vennela Kishore was ok with his role and Viva Harsha wasn’t utilized completely. Praveen and Sudharshan managed to generate enough smiles.
Manchi Rojulochaie has a lean plot as told. Maruthi’s magic did not work out in this film. His idea of directing a small film is appreciable but he picked a wrong idea and made it into a lifeless script. The visuals are good and both the songs are shot well. The cinematography work is good and the music is just ok. Maruthi’s thought of completing Manchi Rojulochaie on a minimal budget with quality output is successful but the film fails badly to impress the audience.
Verdict:
Manchi Rojulochaie is a huge misfire from Maruthi because of the poor narration and the lackluster comedy.

Mehreen busy signing small films
After breaking her engagement with Bhavya Bishnoi, Punjabi beauty Mehreen Pirzada is back to work. She is focused on Telugu cinema and she lost huge weight. Her lean look surprised many and she was paired opposite Santosh Shobhan for a small film that was directed by Maruthi. The film is titled Manchi Rojulochaie and it will release soon. Mehreen even slashed down her remuneration and completed the shoot in a record time.
The actress is not considered for big-ticket films and hence she is picking up small movies. As per the buzz, Mehreen is now paired up beside Havish, who has done a number of films in Telugu. Karthik Reddy who directed Adda and Voter in the past will direct this breezy romantic entertainer. The makers conducted a look test recently and finalized Mehreen beside Havish. The project is expected to start soon and the pre-production work is underway.

Manchi Rojulu Vachayi is billed to be a comedy caper with an interest plot.

Mehreen breaks her Engagement
Punjabi beauty Mehreen has done enough number of Telugu movies. The actress got engaged with Bhavya Bishnoi and their wedding got pushed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The actress took her official social media page to announce that she broke her engagement and they decided not to go with their wedding. She said that she would not associate with Bishnoi and his family in the future.

Tollywood actress Mehreen has been in news in the recent times after stories speculated that she has been questioned by US border officials soon after the prostitution racket of Tollywood actresses busted out. The young actress took her official social media handle to clarify about all the speculated stories. Mehreen revealed that she was questioned by the US Border officials during her USA visit along with her family members.
“I was questioned by the Border officials as to the reason why I was travelling in the United States. They then told me about the scandal which was the first time I heard about it. After they came to know that I have nothing to do with the issue, the officials apologized and they allowed me to travel without any further problems. I was travelling from Vancouver to Las Vegas for a weekend holiday and I wanted to clarify about this before anyone else assumes otherwise” said Mehreen in her statement.

Mahanubhavudu Review : Quirky and humorous take on OCD !

Story:
Anand(Sharwanand) a software engineer suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). He is fastidious about cleanliness and gets irritated with unhygienic things or behavior. His brain stops functioning properly and the behavior gets weird under unsanitary circumstances. Meghana(Mehrene) who likes hygienic men, joins as a programmer in the project managed by Anand. This like-mindedness between Anand and Meghana leads to friendship which in turn blossoms into love. Meghana’s father Ramaraju comes to city to have formal talk with his prospective son-in-law. An incident changes the course of events, leads to Anand temporarily moving to Native village of Meghana.
Being obsessive about cleanliness, how Anand survived in the village environment and how he drives his love to marriage is rest of the story
Analysis:
Hollywood cinema has been attracted by characters with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and there were more than a dozen notable films of this genre. However, this genre is less explored in south Indian cinema which is the subset of Indian cinema. A few years ago, there was a film named ‘North 24 Kaatham’ in Malayalam of this genre. In Telugu, this is first attempt where the Protagonist is suffering from OCD. This genre has ample scope to generate entertainment in films, without heckling the mentally disordered person.
Director Maruthi completely succeeded in writing a very intrinsic story around the character with this disorder, but partially in generating rib-tickling comedy. He took the approach of KISS (“Keep it simple, stupid”) design principle in writing, directing this love story of a person with OCD.
Mahanubhavudu film has situational comedy from the word go, but do not expect funny situations similar to as this director’s previous outing “Bhale Bhale Magadivoy”. Mahanubhavudu is adequately entertaining for all sections of audience though. In the initial phase director tries to showcase the symptoms of OCD, situations that a person with the disorder faces in day to day life and tries to generate humour out of it. Later the romance track has been nicely woven into OCD thread. A not-so-effective conflict point ensues and subsequently then second half runs with different i.e. village backdrop. With a discernible climax, this predictable Mahanubhavudu comes to an end.
While first half flows smoothly with entertainment, from the mid of the second half the story is clichéd and travels back to the 80s mode. Do we have any village now that picks the Sarpanch based on the outcome of a wrestling match? Scenes around this become too predictable. However, climax scenes of the film are good, thus aiding the audience to leave the theatre on a positive note.
Apart from entertainment quotient, songs are the vital strength of Mahanubhavudu
Songs Order :
Rendu Kallu, Mahanu bhavudavera, Kiss Me Baby, My Love is back, Bhamalu Bhamalu, Yeppudaina nee roopam.
- ‘Kiss Me Baby’ is a youth appealing one and the picturization stands out with trendy visuals
- ‘Rendu Kallu’ , ‘Mahanubhavudavera’ songs are classy.
- ‘Bhamalu Bhamalu’ track is aimed at mass audience and works fine.
- ‘Yeppudaina nee roopam’ is a melodious montage song on lead pair and family members also
- ‘My love is back’ is another a youth alluring lyrical melody with some cool dance moves
Technicians:
Every department has exceled at their job. The team work of editing, cinematography, music, BGM and direction is clearly visible on screen. Nizar Shafi’s cinematography is consistent and top class. Cinematography and color grading made this film look niche. UV creations production values are superb, each frame appears good, producers had spent money lavishly on songs. Music director S S Thaman has done extremely satisfactory with the songs as well as background score. Director Maruti has shown his narration skills yet again.
Performances:
Sharwanand is T fit as software engineer and lover boy. He acted with ease. His comedy timing is satisfactory in many scenes, but in a few scenes the effectiveness is diluted as he could not show required expression or missed the timing. Mehrene looks good and acted adequately. Nazar, Vennela Kishore, Youtube star Bhadhram as Jiddesh performed well. Director Maruti, Co-Producer SKN played a cameo in Bhamalu bhamalu song.
Verdict:
Mahanubhavudu is a decent entertainer. With a good first half and an average second half – On the whole it is a satisfactory and minimum guaranteed entertainment for comedy movie lovers. At the box-office , this film has opened well in AP-TS states and moderately in USA.

Mahanubhavudu is a decent entertainer. With a good first half , average second half – On a whole it is a satisfactory , minimum guarantee film for comedy movie lovers

The concept itself offers some variety from routine films.
