CID offices in AP turned into Andaman jails, says Pattabhi

1

Crime Investigation Department (CID) offices in the State are fast turning into Andaman jails, said the senior TDP leader and party’s national official spokesperson, Kommareddy Pattabhiram, here on Tuesday.

Wishing the farmers who are on pada yatra from Amaravathi to Arasavalli a grand success, Pattabhiram told media persons here that the Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is getting impatient by the day as the anti-incumbency is fast growing. The ruling party leaders are only trying to stifle the voices of those who are questioning the Government on public issues, he said.

The State Government is totally misusing the institutions only to create trouble to those who are standing by the people and this has become most widespread of late, Pattabhiram felt. The ruling party is resorting to a vengeful attitude and is completely misusing the law and order system as false cases are being foisted against those who raise public issues, he noted.

Now physical attacks have become very common and this practice is more prevalent in the CID offices, he noted. Even their own party MP, Raghurama Krishnam Raju, is not an exception and TDP leader Vengal Rao too was subjected to such harassment recently. The TDP national spokesperson made it clear that such threats will not deter the TDP leaders from fighting for the public cause.

He asked as to why cases are being registered against the TDP national general secretary, Nara Lokesh and another party leader, Chintakayala Vijay, on the ‘dirty’ videos of their own party MP, Gorantlal Madhav. No action has been taken yet on the complaint lodged with none other than the DGP by women from the TDP and other organisations and till now Gorantla Madhav has been interrogated on his ‘dirty’ videos, he said.

“Is it wrong to question Minister Ambati Rambabu and other YSRCP leader Avanthi Srinivas,” Pattabhiram asked and said that atrocities on women have become a common practice in Andhra Pradesh now. During British rule, those who raised their voices were shifted to Andaman and were subjected to harassment. Now in Andhra Pradesh, such persons are being shifted to CID offices, which have turned into Andaman jails, he said.

TDP to soon come out with more facts on Gorantla

1

The ruling YSRCP should be ashamed of supporting their party MP Gorantla Madhav by claiming that the dirty video is still fake, said TDP spokesman Kommareddy Pattabhiram.

Pattabhiram, said that the TDP has all the evidence and details of sending the video to world renowned forensic expert Jim Stafford and the original report in which he said that it is unedited and authentic. “We have also the evidence on the amount that we paid for him for examining and studying the video,” Pattabhiram said.

It is really shameful that the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) chief, Sunil Kumar, told the media that the report submitted by Jim Stafford was fake. “Despite the clear evidence why the YSRCP is still supporting Madhav,” he asked.

How shameful it is to say that cases will be booked against TDP leaders for bringing the facts to light. The Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, has the history of even forging the report of IIT, Chennai, he said adding that Jagan Mohan Reddy has the background of forging and producing fake documents. The YSRCP leaders are not eligible to even talk of the TDP leaders, Pattabhi said and revealed that the party will soon come out with more facts.

“We will soon put the actual report of Jim Stafford in public domain,” the TDP leader said and made it clear that there is no need for the TDP to make false claims. It is 100 per cent fact that Jim Stafford has examined the dirty video, studied it in detail and submitted a report to the TDP.

Sunil Kumar should immediately stop making such false claims and should try to do justice to the woman involved in that dirty video, Pattabhiram said and demanded that the video be sent to the central forensic lab for examination.

The State Government should answer as to why action has not been initiated yet against the MP despite the National Commission for Women ordered for it, he asked. There is no need for the TDP to learn anything from those who have fake history and the Government that supports such officials and leaders, he stated.

FRBM norms thrown to winds by Jagan Govt, says TDP

1

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Saturday expressed serious concern over the alarming economic situation in the State.

Party spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhiram told media persons at the party office here that for the past few months the whole nation has been discussing the financial crisis in the State, particularly after the scary Sri Lankan situation, the situation is more alarming. Serious debates are going on in the State going for debts under various heads, including in the name of corporations, and the huge amount of interest being paid, he said.

Pointing out that a whopping Rs 25,000 cr loan is raised from different banks by setting up a company in the name of Andhra Pradesh State Development Corporation and this amount is being diverted, Pattabhiram said and clarified that the TDP is opposing only such diversion of funds but not spending money to take up welfare schemes.

Even the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) pointed out that the guidelines issued by the bank are thrown to the winds while raising loans. After observing all this, the RBI issued revised guidelines to the scheduled banks on June 14, 2022 that the norms be strictly followed.

When the RBI issued such clear instructions, the State Government violated all the norms and issued various GOs setting up corporations like the APSDC, he said adding that this is the performance of the State Government. “Implementation and funding of Jagananna Amma Vodi Programme for the financial year 2020-21 by Andhra Pradesh State Development Corporation” mentioned in the GO No 3, issued on January 8, 2021, is nothing but to swallow the funds, he said.

The agreement made in the name of the Governor clearly mentions that even if the State revenue falls after imposing prohibition and the revenue from the Excise Departments falls, the banks are not responsible as the State Government stands guarantee to repay. Also, the pact clearly mentions that the State Government is considered as the principal debtor.

At least Rs 10 lakh crore is credited to Mr Jagan accounts and the people should, at least now, realise the economic condition of the State after the RBI’s letter and what reply the Finance Minister, Mr Buggana Rjendranath Reddy, will give now, Pattabhi asked.

AP moving towards economic emergency, says TDP

0

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) senior leader K Pattabhi Ram on Friday said that Andhra Pradesh is fast moving towards economic emergency. He said that the economic indiscipline of the State has reached its peak and demanded that a white paper be published on the economic condition of the State. The TDP is ready for an open debate if the State Government publishes a white paper on the revenue, expenditure and other details on the financial condition of the State, he added.

The national and even the global media is publishing reports on the grave economic condition of the State but the ruling dispensation is only blaming and branding it as yellow media, he said. Expressing serious concern over the disturbing financial crisis the State is passing through, Pattabhi said that the total debts of Andhra Pradesh is far higher than any other State in the country.

But advisor to the Government Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy and an IAS officer Duvvuri Krishna are only comparing the financial condition with that of the Centre. How can the senior IAS officer claim that the economic discipline of the State is far better than the Centre, he said and asked whether he is a civil servant or a leader of the YSRCP.

Giving the details of the revenue, debt GDP and other details of Andhra Pradesh, he asked the State Government to come for an open debate on all these issues. “How can the ruling dispensation mention the GDP ratio during the TDP regime,” he asked and gave the details when the TDP was in power. From 2014 to 2016 it was 29 per cent while from 2017 to 2019 it was 8 per cent, he stated.

Even in taking over drafts and obtaining loans from the RBI, Andhra Pradesh is on top, he said and asked why the reports on the details are missing from the website of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) for the past three months, he asked. Pattabhi expressed serious concern over the confusing trends in the State economy and felt that Andhra Pradesh is fast moving towards economic emergency.

School merger move aimed at availing $ 250 million WB loan, says TDP

0

Coming down heavily on YSRCP Government for deciding to merge Government schools in the state, TDP spokesperson K Pattabhi Ram on Thursday said that the Jaganmohan Reddy Government has unethically resorted to merger of schools aiming to receive a USD 250 million loan from the World bank.

Referring to the on-going agitation of school students and their parents in the state opposing the merger move, the TDP leader said that the Government has planned the merger of schools with an ulterior motive not to fill the existing more than 50,000 teacher vacancies in various schools in the state. The government’s move will also result in closure of 8000 schools and overcrowding of classrooms in the state.

Addressing a press conference at TDP Bhavan at Mangalagiri, Pattabhiram said the basic condition of the World Bank to sanction the loan is that the recruitment of teachers at the secondary and higher secondary level should be restricted to the minimum.

Castigating the Government for planning to destroy the educational system in the state in the name of educational reforms, he said the Jagan Government has decided to merge the schools to avoid recruitment of new teachers in various schools.

Disclosing that 39,008 and 11, 888 teacher posts are vacant in various elementary and higher secondary schools respectively, Pattabhiram said that the government wanted to avoid the filling of posts to meet the World Bank condition to avail the loan.

He also referred to a detailed report of Samagra Siksha Abhhiyan project approval board saying that the Centre asked AP Government to remove the imbalances in the pupil-teacher ratio in elementary, secondary and higher secondary schools in the state as soon as possible.

Acting contrary to the suggestion of the Centre to recruit a necessary number of teachers to run the educational system efficiently in the state, the state Government has decided to merge the schools causing a lot of suffering to the students and their parents.

1

In a jolt to Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy government in Andhra Pradesh, the AP High Court has granted bail to TDP leader Pattabhi Ram on Saturday (today).

He was arrested on Wednesday night for allegedly using abusive remarks against CM YS Jagan.

Pattabhi was produced before the Vijayawada court on Thursday by Governorpet police.

The judge ordered 14-day judicial remand to Pattabhi following which he was lodged in Rajahmundry central jail.

He was booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Sections 153A (promoting enmity), 505 (public mischief), 353 (deter a public servant from discharge of duty), and 504 (provoking breach of the peace) and 120B (criminal conspiracy).

The TDP leaders and cadre celebrated bail to Pattibhiram across Andhra Pradesh. They termed court orders as a slap on the face of Jagan who is resorting to vendetta politics against his political opponents.

TDP president, former AP CM and Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly, N Chandrababu Naidu wrote to President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah seeking the President’s rule in Andhra Pradesh over the police action against his party colleagues.

Naidu attached photographs, video clips and newspaper cuttings pertaining to Tuesday’s attack on TDP’s central office at Mangalagiri and other party offices and houses of party leaders in his letter to the President, the PM and Union home minister.

TDP leader sent to jail for using abusive words against Andhra CM

1

A city court on Thursday sent Telugu Desam Party (TDP) spokesman K. Pattabhi Ram to judicial custody for 14 days for allegedly using abusive words against Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Ram — arrested on Wednesday night, was produced in Third Additional Metropolitan Court, which remanded him to judicial custody for two weeks.

The opposition party leader was subsequently shifted to Machilipatnam Jail.

After the arrest from his house amid high drama, Ram was taken to Thotlavalluru Police Station.

The TDP leader’s lawyer moved the bail petition but the government’s counsel opposed the same citing several cases booked against him in the past. After hearing the arguments of both sides, the magistrate rejected the bail plea and sent him to judicial custody.

Meanwhile, Ram said he was not beaten up by police during the custody. He, however, denied that he used any abusive word against the chief minister or any other leader and said he was only highlighting the government’s failures.

Ram was arrested from his house by the police on Wednesday night, a day after his remarks triggered a huge backlash from alleged supporters of ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) who attacked the TDP’s central office at Mangalagiri in Amaravati and party offices in other parts of the state.

Pattabhi Ram’s house was also attacked by unidentified people on Tuesday.

Ram’s wife Chandra said he was arrested by policemen after breaking open the door. She said if anything happened to him, the government will be responsible.

According to police, the TDP leader was arrested in connection with a case booked against him at Governorpet Police Station. He was booked under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 153A (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc., and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony), 505 (2) (Statements conducing to public mischief), 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) read with 120B (criminal conspiracy).

Pattabhi comments, China Rajappa apologises

0

Did TDP spokesperson Pattabhi’s over-enthusiasm in the drugs case put the party in a tight spot? Have his comments led the party to alienate a strong community from the party? Did his comments make former home minister China Rajappa apologize to the fisher-folk community? There is a lot of churning within the TDP over some of the comments that spokesperson Pattabhi made during the recent press conference.

During a recent press conference in Kakinada, Pattabhi accused Kakinada MLA Dwarampudi Chandrasekhara Reddy of being hand in glove with the drug mafia. During the course of the press conference, he said that the fishermen too were involved in the racket and cited the fire mishap in a boat as proof of his argument. He said the white smoke that emanated from the burning boat was because of the drugs.

His comments led to protests from the fisher-folk community, which staged dharnas and entered into heated arguments with Pattabhi and other TDP leaders. Finally, Nimmakayala China Rajappa pacified the protesters and offered apologies on behalf of Pattabhi.

In fact, the TDP leaders feel that Pattabhi should not have touched the fisher-folk. They feel that recent attacks on the YSRCP by the TDP leaders were well-received. They feel that Payyavula Keshav’s criticism of financial issues, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy’s attack on corruption, the agitations led by Beeda Ravichandra and the protests by Nallamilli Seshareddy in Anaparthy were highly successful. Even Dhulipalla Narendra’s criticism of the issue of Amaravati lands were well received. But, Pattabhi’s comments have actually boomerangd.

Andhra government creating Constitutional crisis: TDP

1

A host of leaders from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Saturday criticized the ruling Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) for opposing the rural local bodies’ elections, even as they have been welcoming the polls since many days.

“Jagan Reddy’s government is unnecessarily creating a Constitutional crisis in the state. It is defying a Constitutional authority like the State Election Commission (SEC) from discharging its duties with cowardice and scared of opposition from the people,” alleged TDP spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram.

Ram claimed that the right to vote is a fundamental right to choose a preferred leader, which the state government is allegedly blocking unconstitutionally and also allegedly attacking the SEC.

He highlighted that the state government is disobeying the High Court order to go ahead with the panchayat polls.

Ram said that since morning, YSRCP MLAs, MPs and even the Assembly speaker are talking and questioned them if they raised those points through their advocate general in the HC.

TDP leaders have also assailed a government employees’ association representative, Kakarla Venkatrami Reddy for making unacceptable remarks.

They accused Venkatrami Reddy that he is allegedly a follower of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Likewise, TDP leader Syed Raffi highlighted that YSRCP leader and minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy claimed that government employees will not take up election duty and questioned him if he was a government employees association representative?

“Who are you to say that? Who is the minister to say that employees will not participate in election duty? What authority does the minister have? Have you been elected as an employee leader?” posed Raffi.

He also questioned if employee leaders have become the ruling party’s representatives.

Ashok Parchuri, a former government employee and TDP leader said that neither the chief secretary nor others such as district collectors participated in the video conference convened by SEC Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar on Saturday.

“When these officers did not attend the conference, what was the need for the employee associations to say that they will boycott the elections,” said Parchuri.

He alleged that employees are making more derogatory statements than the government leaders.

Vijaysai Reddy involved in Rs 307 crore scam, arrest him: Pattabhi Ram

1

TDP official spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhi Ram on Monday accused the Andhra Pradesh police of acting like a puppet in the hands of the ruling YSRCP.

The TDP leader told a TV channel that the Andhra Pradesh government was targeting him after he blew the lid on YSRCP Rajya Sabha MP Vijaysai Reddy and P V Ramprasad Reddy’s involvement in Rs 307 crore corruption in purchase and maintenance of 108 ambulances.

Pattabhi Ram said instead of arresting Vijaysai Reddy and Ramprasad Reddy, the police had come to his house to harass him for exposing the misdeeds of YSRCP leaders. P V Ramaprasad Reddy, is the co-founder of Hyderabad-based Aurobindo Pharma Ltd, and Vijaysai Reddy’s son-in-law Rohit Reddy’s father.

Backed with evidence, TDP official spokesperson accused Vijaysai Reddy and Ramprasad Reddy of resorting to large-scale irregularities in purchase and maintenance of 108 ambulances. Further, Pattibhi Ram sought to know why the Jagan government had issued GO 116 on February 13, 2020, to give the contract of maintenance of 108 services to Ramprasad Reddy’s Aurobindo Foundation. The TDP spokesperson pointed out that the said GO was issued in violation of an existing contract with the BVG-UKSAS Emergency Medical Services.

He sought to know why the Jagan government was silent on the issue when the same government had shown over-enthusiasm in arresting Atchannaidu. The TDP spokesperson said while Atchannaidu was arrested even when there was no evidence to prove his involvement in the ESI scam, the government was turning a blind eye to the involvement of Vijaysai Reddy in the Rs 307 crore corruption scam in purchase and maintenance of 108 ambulances.

“In Atchannaidu’s case, there is no evidence. The government has arrested Atchnnaidu only based on a letter. The vigilance report did not mention his name in the ESI scam. I have at least seven GOs to show the involvement of Vijaysai Reddy in a massive scam in purchase and maintenance of 108 ambulances. The TDP government did not cancel previous agreements and allowed GVK to run 108 services till September 2016. After the agreement expired, a tender was invited in which BVG emerged as the lowest bidder. A contract was signed with BVG to maintain 108 services from December 13, 2017, to December 12, 2020, for a period of three years. However, the present government in a tearing hurry brought in GO116 to give the maintenance contract to Aurobindo. Why did this government cancel the contract with BVG and preferred Aurobindo which has no prior experience in this field. Why was GO 105 issued on 5.9.2019 to add 432 new ambulances through a finance arrangement? I am ready to send all the documentary evidence I have with me to the DGP’s office. Let this government order a probe into the whole affair,” Pattibhi Ram demanded.
