Rangasthalam has a good Second Saturday in Telugu States with a distributor share of 2.67 Cr. The film has now beaten the worldwide lifetime of Srimanthudu (84 Cr) to emerge as the fourth biggest grosser in Tollywood behind Baahubali2, Baahubali & Khaidi No.150. The film is expected to show good growth today and go past 66.50 Cr share in Telugu States.

Rangasthalam is first non-Baahubali Telugu film to achieve it

Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam is shattering several box office records ever since its release on March 30.

After setting several milestones at domestic market, the rustic period drama has achieved a rare feat at the overseas box office.

By today ( Saturday), the overseas collections of Rangasthalam clocked $ 3 Million dollars and emerged as the first film barring the Baahubali series to hit the elusive mark. It has already surpassed Mahesh Babu’s Srimanthudu and took the third spot in the list of highest grossing Telugu films in overseas.

As of this writing, Rangasthalam raked in $ 150K on its second Saturday and entered the $ 3 M club in style.

Sukumar’s brilliant narration and Charan’s stellar performance have ensured a strong box office haul for Rangasthalam in all areas.

Actor Ram Charan is basking in the success of his latest outing, Rangasthalam, which is at a touching distance from hitting the prestigious 100 Crore mark.

Overwhelmed with its unanimous reception and thumping success, Ram Charan has decided to throw a grand party to fans, media and distributors. Reportedly, Charan is planning to organise a huge bash and Megastar Chiranjeevi is going to attend the event.

‘Charan is very thankful to all distributors who had faith in their film and wanted to give party in the coming weekend’, said a close source.

Arrangements are being chalked out in a grand way and the details will be out shortly.

Rangasthalam surpasses Srimanthudu, takes 3rd place in OS

Ram Charan’s emotional rustic entertainer Rangasthalam is now the all time third highest grossing Telugu film in overseas. The film has surpassed the life time collections of Mahesh Babu’s 2015 blockbuster Srimanthudu to take the third spot after Baahubali 2 and Baahubali 1.

Rangasthalam embarked on a sensational start at the overseas box office with $ 706K from its premiers. Since then there is no stopping this Sukumar directional as it plundered $ 2.4 M by the end of its first weekend to emerge as a blockbuster.

Continuing its steady run, the film registered good collections from Monday to Thursday. With Friday’s $ 121K and Saturday’s $ 22K( counting), the film has relegated Srimanthudu to fourth spot in the list of highest grossing Telugu films in overseas.

Rangasthalam is Ram Charan’s and Sukumar’s career best in overseas. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film has Samantha, Jagapathi Babu and Aadhi in crucial roles.

Rangasthalam film is still strong at box office and everyone worked for this film getting lot of appreciation. Those who watched are praising hero Ram Charan, heroine Samantha, director Sukumar and music director Devi Sri Prasad. Smalltime actor like Jabardasth Mahesh also said he is receiving lot of praise. Now DSP revealed trough social media the appreciation he received from veteran director Kodi Rama Krishna who gave him debut chance through “Devi” movie.

Kodi messaged Devi – “Dear Devi, you have created a storm of victory in Telugu Chalana chitra Rangasthalam with your musical magic..I am proud of you”. DSP replied to that message and shared same message trhough twitter. Ram Charan starrer Rangasthalam became a talking point among audience ever since its release last week. Already top celebs like NTR, Pawan , Mahesh and Rana to name a few have showered praises on Rangasthalam team.

Star director SS Rajamouli joined the list of admirers. The Baahubali director appreciated the team work of Rangasthalam and said Sukumar and Charan have overshadowed many good things in Rangasthalam.

He wrote on Twitter ‘ There are many things that are good about #Rangasthalam. But the characterisation Sukumar written for Chittibabu and the way Charan portrayed it eclipses them all. Each and every nuance of his acting was a treat to watch. SUPERB ! WELL DONE ‘.

Rajamouli also lauded Jagapathi Babu for his menacing performance by tweeting ‘ The only person who could stand his ground to Charan, to an extent was JB.His slow drawling dialogue and performance was really menacing. Congratulations to Mythri, Sukku and Team Rangasthalam for the terrific box office performance as well’.

It is a known fact that Rajamouli is next teaming up with Ram Charan and NTR for a multi-starrer. The regular shooting will commence from October this year.

Rangasthalam has a steady second Friday in Telugu States with a distributor share of 2.26 Cr. The drop is around 45 percent from Thursday ie, Day 7 which looks like the film came down but that was due to the advantage of partial holiday on 7th day. Else the drop could have been around 30 percent. The film has crossed 60cr mark in Telugu States which has been achieved only by 4 films so far (Magadheera, Baahubali, Khaidi No.150 & Baahubali 2).

The film has recorded third highest week collections beating Khaidi No.150 which was at third with a distributor share of share of 76.90 Cr. The film has recorded third highest Non-Holiday collections on Wednesday for any Tollywood film behind the Baahubali(s). Cumulative Share of the film is now at an approx 54 cr and it is all set to beat 1st week share of Khaidi No.150(56.30 Cr) to emerge as the third biggest week in Telugu States.

Rangasthalam has another extraordinary day in Telugu States with a distributor share of 5.14 Cr on it’s fifth day. The film has recorded second highest Non-Holiday collections on Tuesday for any Tollywood beating as it has beat Baahubali which has collected a share of 5.12 Cr.The hold is excellent with a drop of 20 percent from Monday ie, Day4. The film is now set to beat first week share of Khaidi No 150 in Telugu States which is at All Time Top 3 position for now with a distributor share of 56.30 Cr.

Beautiful actress Samantha is one of the finest performers of South Indian cinema. The actress has her hands full and is lined up with several interesting projects. The actress recently played the female lead in Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam and her work has been widely appreciated. Rangasthalam Folk singer downhearted by Devi Sri Prasad

Ace composer Devi Sri Prasad has the habit of introducing talented singers to Telugu audience through his albums. For his latest film Rangasthalam, DSP roped in folk singer Shiva Naagulu to lend vocals for the folklore song ‘Aa Gattununtaava’. The song turned out to be an instant hit and DSP showered praises on him during the audio event.

What came as a huge shock to everyone including the singer himself is that the song vocals have been changed in the film. Due to unknown reasons, DSP himself crooned for the song in the film. Devi has already been on the receiving end from audience who felt that his voice didn’t sync with the tune and the lyrics.

Speaking about it in a media interaction, Shiva Naagulu fired on DSP for letting him down by not giving any information prior to the film’s release. Shiva alleged that DSP hasn’t informed him about the change and added that he has no idea why his voice has been replaced in the film.

Ram Charan’s latest smash hit Rangasthalam is setting several milestones for upcoming films with its sensational box office run in all areas of its release. The overseas collections, in particular, are quite phenomenal as the film is galloping towards the three million mark.

Creative Cinemas NY, overseas distributor of Rangasthalam, bagged the theatrical rights for 10 Crores. As the film didn’t get any solid offers apart from a few areas, the distributor took the gamble and released the film on own which is now paying off big time.

Rangasthalam has reaped a rich harvest in overseas in its first weekend and touched the break even mark effortlessly. The film will enter profit zone from today and by the end of its full run, it will be a huge profitable venture in overseas. After tasting good profits with Tholi Prema, the distribution house has backed it up with Rangasthalam.

Initially, Jolly Hits Entertainments has bagged Rangasthalam in overseas. But, they backed out in the last minute due to some issues with Mythri Movie Makers.

US Boxoffice – #Rangasthalam at 6 the position in Lifetime gross by the weekend. Breakeven point (including expenses) reached.

Rangasthalam makers impose deadline for Amazon

Mythri Movie Makers is the most happening production house currently and the they raced to the top in Tollywood with three back to back blockbusters with Srimanthudu, Janatha Garage and Rangasthalam. Their recent outing Rangasthalam has been re-creating history all over and the film is expected to end up as one of the biggest hits in the history of Telugu cinema. The digital rights of Rangasthalam have been snapped for a record price of Rs 18 crores by Amazon Prime. However the makers had a strict deadline for the film to be released online.

The makers of Rangasthalam have been extremely confident on the film’s success and kept a deadline of 50 days for the film to be released online. Despite of paying huge amount, Amazon had to agree for the film to be released online only after 50 days from the theatrical release of Rangasthalam. Naveen Yerneni, one of the producers of Rangasthalam confirmed the news to his distributors. Rangasthalam has been directed by Sukumar and Samantha is the female lead. Devi Sri Prasad composed the tunes.

The logical filmmaker Sukumar has scored another fantastic hit with Ram Charan’s latest release Rangasthalam which earned rave reviews all over. Ram Charan’s performance in particular has become talk of the town and critics are terming it to be his career best performance. The film’s team organized a thank you meet in which Sukumar opened up about his experience working with Ram Charan during the film.

Sukumar said that Ram Charan went entirely into the skin of the character and whenever the director used to ask the hero to chill out wearing trousers, Cherry used to say, “The lungi is more comfortable , Bro!” which surprised the director. Sukumar also said that Cherry worked very hard to de-glamorize himself and suit for the role perfectly. The actor didn’t even hesitate to wear a hearing aid being a Mega Powerstar and assured Sukumar that it is the right thing to do! It is also incredible to see Charan trust Sukumar completely and the result is reflected in the output.

Before the release of the film, the makers of Rangasthalam were apprehensive about the length of it and had to cut some additional scenes. But now that the film is a big hit, Sukumar is willing to even add off the additional footage which might make the fans happier. The success of Rangasthalam proves once again that Telugu audience are willing to accept any experimental film as long as it has good story and acting performances.
