Atchen Naidu strongly condemns murder attempt on Somireddy

0

Strongly condemning the attempts to murder the former minister and senior TDP leader, Mr Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, TDP State unit president, Kinjerapu Atchen Naidu, on Tuesday felt that the bid to murder Somireddy amply reflects the psycho activities of the YSRCP leaders.

Terming the attack on Somireddy by the YSRCP leader, Mr Venkataiah, and his gang as atrocious, Atchen Naidu in a press note released here asked what the policemen were doing when these YSRCP leaders were seen moving carrying sticks near the venue where the local TDP leaders meeting was on. As the TDP leaders firmly resisted the attempt to kill Somireddy, these YSRCP leaders went to the house of the local TDP leader, Maheedhar Reddy, and attacked him besides badly damaging his car, he said in the press note.

What is this culture, the TDP State president asked Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, and opined that since Mr Jagan has been encouraging murderers goondaism is on the rise in the State. Recalling the recent incident in which several baseless allegations were levelled against Somireddy and the files related to this were made to miss from the court, Atchen Naidu is of the strong opinion that the local YSRCP leaders are involved in the latest attack on Somireddy.

Asking the local Minister to take the responsibility for the attack on Somireddy, he made it clear that the TDP leaders will not sit quiet if anymore such attempts are made to kill or to attack the TDP leaders. “The YSRCP leaders should remember that for every action that is resorted to by the YSRCP leaders under Mr Jagan’s instigation will have a reaction,” he added.

Atchen Naidu expressed confidence that in another 50 days the TDP-Jana Sena combine is going to form the government and said that stringent action will certainly be initiated against those who are now indulging in such violent activities.

Shifting of Krishnapatnam Port container terminal to TN is injustice to Nellore, says Somireddy

0

TDP politburo member and former minister, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, on Saturday expressed serious concern that the most prestigious container terminal of the Krishnapatnam Port is being shifted to Tamil Nadu from Nellore resulting in the loss of employment for over 10,000 and Rs 1,000 cr revenue for the State.

Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy told media persons here that the container terminal at Nellore is being closed by the end of this month and finally only dry cargo will remain here. It is really horrible that the State Government did not respond when such massive damage was being caused to Andhra Pradesh, Somireddy said.

The TDP politburo member said that they are getting ready for a prolonged agitation to save the Krishnapatnam Port which is the result of several sacrifices made by the farming sector here. The Krishnapatnam Port container terminal is the most prestigious one, he said.

Of the 12 major ports in the country, the container terminal of the Krishnapatnam Port competes with the Chennai Port, the Visakhapatnam Port and the Mumbai Port, Somireddy said. “It is really unfortunate that such a distinguished terminal is getting closed by the end of January,” a seriously concerned TDP politburo member said.

It is really painful that such a reputed port is facing a pathetic situation after it is taken over by the Adani Group from the Krishnapatnam Port Company, he said. Transhipment is allowed from here to international ports like Colombo, the United States and Singapore while imports are from China, Malaysia, Dubai and Thailand, Somireddy said.

The motor parts for the companies located in Sri City, white cement, solar panels, furniture, LED bulbs and chemicals are being imported from various countries through Krishnapatnam Port, Somireddy stated. This apart, the State Government gets an annual revenue of Rs 1,000 cr in the shape of sales tax, he added.

After the YSRCP came to power the transactions from here came down by Rs 5 lakh cr bringing down the State’s revenue by Rs 500 cr, he pointed out. The container cargo is being shifted to Tamil Nadu now while dry cargo like ash, coal and other such material is being continued from here, he stated.

Somireddy felt that it is really a great injustice being done to the State with the cooperation of the Central Government. Recalling that the foundation for the Krishnapatnam Port was laid in 1996 when Chandrababu Naidu was the chief minister of the combined Andhra Pradesh and when he was local MLA, Somireddy said that the construction of the port was completed by Navayuga Company of Visawesawara Rao when Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy was the chief minister of the State.

Unfortunately, this port went into the hands of the Adani Group after Jagan Mohan Reddy became the Chief Minister and since then it has been facing a tough time, Somireddy said and made it clear that the locals will not keep quiet if it is shifted from here. “Very soon an agitational programme is being formulated with all parties to save the Krishnapatnam Port,” the TDP politburo member announced.

Somireddy demands resignation of Kakani

0

Former minister and TDP senior leader, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, on Thursday demanded the immediate resignation of Minister, Kakani Goverdhan Reddy, if he has any ethical or moral values.

Narrating the incidents that indirectly proved Goverdhan Reddy, guilty, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy told media persons here that Goverdhan Reddy created fake documents that he (Somireddy) owns properties worth Rs 1000 cr in some foreign countries. ”As I complained to the police then with regard to these fake documents, an inquiry was conducted and the gang which prepared these fake documents was taken into custody,” Somireddy explained.

But, Kakani, who was behind the preparation of these fake documents moved the Supreme Court and obtained conditional bail then. The police, however, submitted the documents and the inquiry report along with evidence, to the court. Goverdhan Reddy took oath as Minister on April 11 this year but within a couple of days, on April 13, these documents missed from the court, the TDP leader pointed out.

The High Court considered this seriously and admitted the case of these missing files as suo moto and ordered for a CBI probe into it.

This clearly indicates that the judiciary does not have faith in the State police or evn the CID, Chandramohan Reddy said adding that Goverdhan Reddy is facing charges in spurious liquor case in Nellore also.

In view of this, Kakani should immediately resign as Minister if he has any ethical or moral values, he added. The TDP leader also wanted the CBI to investigate the case fast without dragging the matter.

He said that Goverdhan Reddy who is involved in several cases can not do justice to his portfolio and thus should step down immediately. Or, Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, should dismiss him from the Cabinet as he too has the knowledge of the cases pending against the Minister, he added.

Three-capital formula is a failure idea across the globe, says Somireddy

1

Former minister and senior TDP leader, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy, felt that only those having a factionist mind-set can call the peaceful pada yatra of the capital region farmers as invasion.

Talking to media persons at the party headquarters, Chandramohan Reddy said that the farmers from Amaravati are not carrying any weapons like firearms or swords. “It is not correct to cause inconvenience to the Amaravati farmers who are undertaking pada yatra in a peaceful manner,” he added.

The former minister is of the strong opinion that the three-capital formula is a failure concept even in foreign countries like South Africa and it is only out of ignorance that the ruling party is still pursuing this idea. “It is not a fact that only capital cities will witness development. For instance, the American capital of Washington DC remained only as a city but the metros like Chicago and New York are progressing well,” he felt.

Similarly, though London is the capital of the United Kingdom, the city of Manchester witnessed industrial revolution, he said and added that how the ruling party in the State can think of a three-capital formula when the very idea is a failure across the globe. Also, Legislative capital theory is also wrong as the Maharashtra Government is incurring huge losses by conducting a single Assembly session in Nagpur. The Maharashtra Government has almost come to a conclusion not to hold the Assembly session in Nagpur any longer.

Almost all the parties in the State, including the BJP, the Congress, the Jana Sena and the Left parties have been demanding that Amaravati be continued as the capital. “Even the YSRCP has earlier made it clear on the Floor of the Assembly that Amaravati be the capital of Andhra Pradesh,” he recalled.

Chandramohan Reddy expressed doubts as to who will come forward to invest in Andhra Pradesh if there is no single capital for the State. Even in the combined Andhra Pradesh, cities like Warangal, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam have developed a lot though Hyderabad was the capital city and hence it is wrong to say that other cities will not progress well other than the capital city, he pointed out.

“Every city needs to have certain qualities for development. Since Visakhapatnam has a port, several industries like Hindustan Shipyard, Hindustan Zinc, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation and other industries are being successfully operated,” he stated.

TDP Uses Brahmastram Against Governor, Repents Later

0

As cash-for-vote scam involving TDP legislator from Telangana region is intensifying with ACB reportedly getting a letter from the election commission asking its sleuths for a stringent probe, TDP leaders are trying to use all their brahmastrams.

It is known that TDP folks recently brought in section eight of AP Reorganisation Act into the picture. As Governor ESL Narasimhan is not responding despite TDP supremo Chandrababu meeting him time and again over the implementation of governor’s law and order in Hyderabad, the party leaders chose to target ESL Narasimhan, the constitutional head of the state.

TDP senior leader Acham Naidu recently, in a press meet, addressed the governor as ‘you’ (without a pinch of respect) and said that he was acting as a ‘gangireddu’ (meaning a bull). Lashing out at governor, Acham Naidu said why governor was tight lipped when KCR said that Andhra Pradesh police cannot execute their duties in Hyderabad.

Centre Serious:

The Centre, which noticed these severe objectionable comments made by Acham Naidu against the governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states, has reportedly warned AP chief secretary that TDP leaders were launching verbal attacks against the governor.

Acham Naidu Apologizes and Withdraws:

After learning that Centre expressed its serious concerns over derogatory comments he made against governor, Acham Naidu spoke to the media and said that he was apologetic about the statements he made. He elucidated that he made those remarks only in agony after he looked at the situation of Andhra Pradesh. In case my statements had hurt governor, I withdraw them immediately, added Acham Naidu.

Need for Naidu to Control Leaders:

It is known that TDP leaders are speaking whatever they want that are sometimes lacking logic and sounding contradictory. Earlier, Parakala Prabhakar, who spoke about cash for vote scam has said that the voice in the audio tapes was not that of Chandrababu Naidu. Shortly, Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said that the audio was fabricated.

Even as these leaders continue to make contradictory statements, TDP MLC Somireddy went a step ahead and said that TRS was obstructing the bail of Revant Reddy. How can a political party influence the court was the question then. He was allegedly trying to send wrong messages to people on courts, which was again a matter of serious concern,

This confusion among leaders must be curtained. It is high time for Chandrababu Naidu to bring in a proper code of conduct within the party. Verbal attacks on political leaders are at times acceptable as criticism, however, using the same policy for courts, constitutional heads and constitution is highly not acceptable.

KCR’s Language Crossing Boundaries: Somireddy

0

TDP polit bureau member Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy has expressed his anguish over the language of Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao. Alleging that KCR’s language was crossing boundaries, he said that people of Telangana elected KCR as their chief minister for the development of the state and definitely not to take pot shots at the leaders of Andhra Pradesh.

Come down heavily on matters pertaining to Pattiseema project, Somireddy stressed that neither KCR not KTR has no right to speak a word on Pattiseema works.

He made these remarks in the wake of recent comments made by KCR on Chandrababu Naidu regarding irrigation developments besides the infamous cash-for-vote scam.

The experts observed that although KCR is working towards the development of Telangana state, he must quit the language that he often used in public meetings to hog the limelight given he’s the chief minister of a state now.

Yellow Leaders’ Illogical Statements Put TDP at Stake

0

TDP leaders who are reacting on cash-for-vote scam are not only making statements that are confusing and contradictory but even funny at times.

It is known how Parakala Prabhakar and Yanamala Ramakrishnudu gave contradictory statements on the issue.

Then entered Chandrababu Naidu into the scene who said that KCR’s Government will fall if he’s arrested. This line not only sounded funny but illogical. While Telangana Government or KCR didn’t send any signals of arrest, it was Chandrababu who spoke his heart out with a national news channel.

Now, Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy went an extra mile and made a sensational statement that can apparently put party and him in serious trouble.

Taking on TRS party vehemently, Somireddy alleged that TRS was obstructing the bail of Revanth Reddy. How can a political party influence the court? Doesn’t he know that the Constitution of India facilitates independent and integrated judiciary? Is he trying create doubts among the people on the functioning of courts?—these are a few questions that are being discussed among lawyers who gather at tea stalls outside courts.

Legal experts said that Somireddy can face Contempt of Court for his alleged statements that are rival on the electronic media.
