Somu Veerraju writes to ABN Radha Krishna

BJP AP State president Somu Veerraju on Wednesday wrote a letter to ABN Andhra Jyothi managing director, Vemuri Radha Krishna threatening him of legal proceedings. Veerraju set the deadline of seven days for Radha Krishna to justify the reports that were published against the BJP leaders in the last three weeks.

Veerraju in his letter said that the Andhra Jyothi had published a story on a BJP leader who was accused of collecting money in four states and looting over Rs 30 crore. This story was published on September 6, 2022.

Another story about BJP national leadership enquiring about the illegal collections of the BJP leader and the story was published on September 18, 2022.

The third story that Veerraju referred to in his letter was about a BJP woman leader collecting money and the story was published on September 24, 2022.

Veerraju said that these stories are baseless and have caused serious damage to the party. He asked Radha Krishna to provide evidence to these reports.

The BJP president termed these reports as yellow media reports aimed at causing damage to the BJP in the public. He asked Radha Krishna to give evidence to the people to prove his charges against the BJP leaders or tender an open apology to the party through the paper.

He said the BJP would take serious legal action against Radha Krishna and the Andhra Jyothi media if they fail to respond to his letter in the next seven days.

It is to be seen how Radha Krishna would respond to this letter!

The spotlight has once again turned on ‘Amaravati’ as YCP Minister Botsa Satyanarayana is indicating Capital shifting in the next two to three months. Against this backdrop, analysts started once again focusing attention on what CM Jagan is going to do this time to outsmart the courts and Chandrababu Naidu. Amid these political speculations, ABN Radha Krishna came out with startling news on what the YCP leaders are doing in Delhi to gain an upper hand on the Capital city issues.

In his latest Weekend Comment, RK asks whether it is not true that Jagan Reddy has offered Rs. 1 Cr every day to a Supreme Court lawyer in Delhi if he does not argue on behalf of the Amaravati farmers. This offer is made as long as Amaravati cases are argued in the court. Also, unlike any other State, the AP CM has been making sure that huge payments shall be made more in hard cash rather than cheques to the Delhi lawyers who were arguing for the AP Government in countless cases nowadays. While Jagan is managing the lawyers thus, it is unfortunate that he is repeatedly accusing Chandrababu Naidu of managing the courts.

This time, RK has used pungent comments to object to the methods of Jagan to outfox the TDP and Amaravati farmers. RK has said that Jagan Reddy has even beaten ‘Maya Maschindra’ in cheating people with his non-stop untruths and half truths. The fact is that the Amaravati farmers filed cases in the courts. The Supreme Court and the High Court disapproved of the conveyance deeds brought by Jagan regime to enable house site beneficiaries to sell plots after five years. But, Jagan is saying that Chandrababu has managed courts and obstructed house sites distribution to the poor.

The question remains whether Jagan would be able to use his ‘Maya Maschindra’ gimmicks to achieve his plans by outwitting rivals finally. So many cases are pending in the courts but the YCP is confident of shifting Amaravati by Ugadi.

Jagan may crush AP but not Kammas: RK

Andhra Jyothi Managing Director Radha Krishna used to say that the Jaganmohan Reddy government is targeting one particular caste. But now, in his latest Kothapaluku column, RK made an open attack on Jagan Circar for its obvious mission to crush Kammas. It has gone to a sadistic extent the police specifically identifying and targetting Kamma agitators in Amaravati villages and also other parts of the state. Radha Krishna says that Jagan Reddy’s father YSR never took a negative stand against Kammas. In fact, most Reddy CMs in the past liked to make friendship with the Kamma leaders and industrialists from Coastal districts. Chenna Reddy personally convinced Akkineni Nageswara Rao to come and set up his studio in Hyderabad.

YS Rajasekhara Reddy used to be very close to some Kamma leaders with whom he shared his feelings openly. This was despite the TDP being the main enemy for his political career. Not just that, YSR also continued the same policies adopted by Chandrababu Naidu with regard to Hyderabad city development. If YSR cancelled Naidu plans, Hyderabad would not have been a globally progressive city now. Radha Krishna pointed out how Telugu film industry was offered huge lands to shift to Hyderabad in those days. At that time, only Kammas dominated the film industry. If anti-Kamma feelings were there at that time, there would be no question of shifting of this industry to Hyderabad. Likewise, shifting Amaravati to punish Kammas would only crush AP but not the caste.

RK and Ramoji Rao main target of Jagan GO

AP Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy has burst the Amaravati real estate bubble after defaming Capital City as a government venture to benefit a particular caste. Now, CM Jagan is attacking the AP media as one dominant caste media is targeting his government needlessly in the past five months. Hence, without further waiting, YCP Circar released GO 2430. The government is telling mediapersons that the GO is mainly aimed at targeting Andhra Jyoti MD Radhakrishna and Eenadu Chairman Ramoji Rao. So, the rest of media need not worry about any cases or future complications.

Incidentally, RK and Ramoji Rao belong to the same caste. Most of the media organisations in Telugu states belong to this caste only. This came as a big opportunity for Jagan to bring the caste angle again and again to make political gains out of it. In his election campaign also, Prashant Kishor team spread rumours and provoked other castes against Chandrababu Naidu which yielded good results.

The government’s hope is to convince the rest of media that it will not be harassed along with ABN and Eenadu. But the national media and journalists associations are viewing GO 2430 as a daring assault on freedom of expression. A head-on collision between Jagan and media is unavoidable now.

ABN MD Vemuri Radha Krishna lodges a complaint in PS

ABN MD Vemuri Radha Krishna approached the Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police and lodged a complaint against people who are creating fake accounts in the name of ABN News Channel (ABN NC), and Andhra Jyothi newspaper (AJN). He requested the police officials to take stringent actions against those who are publishing fake/false news and using abusive language on Twitter in the name of ABN NC and AJN.

‘They opened a fake account in the name of RK. They are using our logo. By modifying the ‘breaking news’ screenshots, they are replacing original content with highly offensive content’, said Radha Krishna in his complaint.

The media baron once again reinstated that he does not operate any Twitter or Facebook accounts.

It is known that 5 youth was arrested on the charges of damaging ABN Andhra Jyothi vehicle recently near Telugu Film Chamber. After Janasena Chief Pawan Kalyan started twitter war on TV9, ABN, and TV5, many Pawan Kalyan followers have been making anti-media comments, targeting TV9 and ABN in particular.

Is Radha Krishna becoming more powerful than Ramoji?

Media is considered fourth estate in democratic India ( First three being – executive, legislature, and judiciary). So media barons are always powerful in India. Especially, in Telugu states, Ramoji, the media moghul has always been a very powerful and could change the political dynamics of the states. Every Telugu person knows his role in making NTR and then Chandra Babu CMs. But there is an interesting change in the equation recently as ABN Radha Krishna becoming more prominent figure, at least in the context of politics of Telugu states.

RK slowly built a good ecosystem in Telugu media. His channel is rated at top 4-5, news paper in top 3 and website is popular than Eenadu ( Earlier T360 reported that Andhra Jyoti crossed Eenadu in Alexa rankings). Also, he is now well connected with both KCR and Naidu. He is now the go to person for both CM’s in media.

The Managing Director of Aamoda Publications Vemuri Radha Krishna in his Sunday editorial noted that Rajdeep Sardesai approached them for starting a Telugu Channel.

In conversation with Telugu360, Rajdeep said, “I don’t remember any definite plan to start a Telugu channel. We were approached for support but no commitment was given”.

While Rajdeep claims that they were approached, on the contrary RK wrote, “He ( Rajdeep ) sent their people to talk to us”.

RK in his editorial noted that former Chief Minister Y S Rajashekar Reddy put brakes to the idea at a juncture where the proposal was finalised and contracts were to be signed.

“The Andhra Jyothy MD I think met us once to discuss starting a channel. But I don’t recall the conversations going very far from our end since we were already handling our own channels at the time”, said Rajdeep.

While he did not deny the claims of starting Telugu news channel, there are differences in both the versions of how the events transpired.

Also, Rajdeep denied the claims of meeting or speaking with Pranab Mukherjee or YSR in this context.

Minor alterations tend not to derail the actual events but these nuances are so profoundly strange that the one is left wondering as to what actually happened before ABN commenced operations.
