ED attaches Rs 117 cr assets of Indukuri Syam Prasad Reddy

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached properties worth Rs 117.74 crore of three companies belonging to Indu Projects Ltd Managing Director Indukuri Syam Prasad Reddy for his alleged investments in a firm floated by YSR Congress Party President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The attached movable and immovable assets include undeveloped lands illegally allotted to the companies of Syam Prasad Reddy, properties of Indu Projects Ltd and fixed deposits held by Embassy Property Developments Pvt Ltd and Vasantha Projects Pvt Ltd.

The case is a follow up of money laundering offences in 11 chargesheets filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against Jagan Mohan Reddy and others, an ED official said.

The ED attached the properties under Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The present case is a quid pro quo investment where Syam Prasad Reddy made huge investments in the companies floated by Jagan Mohan Reddy for the favours received from Andhra Pradesh government by way of allotment of 8,844 acre of land for Lepakshi Knowledge Hub Private Ltd, 250 acres of land at Shamshabad for Indu Techzone Private Ltd and various housing projects to Indu Group.

At the time of the irregularities, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, father of Jagan Mohan Reddy, was the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

The CBI filed three chargesheets in respect of undue favours received by Syam Prasad Reddy of which the ED has already issued provisional attachment orders in connection with two cases relating to Lepakshi Knowledge Hub Private Ltd and Indu Techzone Private Ltd.

The present attachment is in connection with the CBI chargesheet relating to various housing projects allotted by the then A.P. Housing Board to Indu Group.

The ED investigation so far has revealed that Syam Prasad Reddy paid bribe to Jagan Mohan Reddy in the form of investments at exorbitant premiums.

“In lieu of quid pro quo payments made by Syam Prasad Reddy, he was illegally favoured by the then Andhra Pradesh government by awarding housing projects at Kukatapally (65 acres), Bandlaguda (50 acres), Gachibowli (4.575 acres) and Nandyal (75 acres) by deviating all standard norms and without examining the technical or financial capabilities.

“Syam Pasad Reddy was also unduly favoured by Andhra Pradesh Housing Board (APHB) by
granting huge chunks of land for housing projects at a very cheap price as compared to
prevailing market rates which caused huge loss to APHB in the form of revenue generation,” an ED statement said.

Chandrababu Naidu Surprise To Jagan Mohan Reddy

0

Chandrababu Naidu birthday wishes To Jagan Mohan Reddy

We have seen many times, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and YSRCP Leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy always been busy with the exchange of words in political party meetings and assembly. Even a day before Jagan Mohan Reddy made some serious comments on Chandrababu Naidu on a public platform. On a shocking note, a few minutes ago, Chandrababu Naidu has wished the YSRCP leader a very happy birthday on Twitter. He wrote as, “Wishing you a happy birthday @YSJagan. May God bless you with a happy and healthy life.”

This act stuns everyone on social media and within few moments, Jagan Mohan Reddy put aside all his ego and thanked the Chief Minister with a tweet as, “Pleasant surprise andi. Thank you.” Well, not just for him, it is a surprise to everyone on social media.

Besides this, Jagan Mohan Reddy going to take a break tomorrow from his Praja Sankalpa Padayatra and will appear in Hyderabad’s CBI Court.

Sakshi’s “over-enthusiasm” yet again

0

YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy continued his Praja Sankalpa Yatra on Day 33 Rapthadu constituency of Ananthapur district. As always he met people and asked them their problems, asked them if anyone is happy with current government and assured them each and every problem will be resolved as soon as he forms next government. At YSR Colony, he talked to students and told them that he would take the responsibility of their education and his government would come out with schemes that would help the students. Some students even took selfies with YS Jagan.

While presenting this incident, Sakshi paper published the photo of the students standing on the compound wall of school and presented it as students were so eager to see Jagan and they scaled compound wall for this. Actually it is very unsafe for kids to scale any compound wall and stand there for some time as any small mistake would cause a major incident. At least Sakshi could have avoided such photograph. But Sakshi is always overenthusiastic.

If somebody remembers, Sakshi published a photo and wrote a weird comments when YS Bharati was undertaking some yatra before 2014 elections. Probably it was during the time when Jagan was in Jail. Sakshi published a photo of Bharati doing yatra, people following her and a goat also seen in the photo. The article had a heading “Goat too (Meka saitham)” and the article said, “goat also joined Bharati’s yatra. In fact it followed Bharati and group for more than a kilometer. This led to people discussing whether that goat also showing solidarity to YS Jagan’s family. Some of them even thought that goat also beneficiary of some of YSR schemes. Anyway goat showing solidarity to Bharati yatra is widely discussed in the town..”. This is how the article went. Those who follow Sakshi regularly still remember that article.

Sakshi should come out of such overenthusiastic articles. Such articles will do more harm than good. In the case of students photo also, they should have avoided such photo which causes their parents nervous and presented it in some other way.

Scoop: Why other Channels refused to interview YS Jagan?

0

YS Jagan recently gave interview in his own channel Sakshi regarding his pada yatra and public response for that. As per some inside sources, Jagan’s representatives actually did plan to have Jagan’s interviews in other popular channels and they approached some top media channels too. But somehow it did not work out. As per these inside sources, the reason for not working out lies purely with Jagan and his team. The discussions between Jagan’s representatives and Media representatives happened on the lines similar to what is discussed below and if one sees such discussion, it is not difficult to understand why the media channels refused to interview Jagan.

Jagan’s representatives: As already discussed with you, we are interested in having Jagan being interviewed in your channel.

Media representatives: Sure, why not. Interviewing Jagan in a channel other than Sakshi will be first time. And, we are also pleased to have such an opportunity.

Jagan’s representatives: As you know, all leaders will have some limitations and so expect to avoid having questions on some specific topics.

Media representatives: Yeah, understand. We will take care of that. But at the same time we should not make the interview dull and uninteresting. You also know that. There are some questions, people would love to see Jagan answering them.

Jagan representatives: Like what?

Media representatives: Like the rumors that Jagan (desperately) wants to join hands with BJP.

Jagan representatives:No no…our leader won’t talk on BJP in the interview on these lines. You can ask how Jagan’s meeting with Modi went and how positive Modi was on Jagan and his party.

Media representatives: Oh, answer for that would be too predictable. Ok at least we will have question on possibility of Jagan joining hands with Pawan Kalyan

Jagan representatives:No no…our leader won’t talk strongly about Pawan. He may slightly touch base the topic of Pawan and his support to Babu but dont expect any deep or strong comments on Pawan from our leader.

Media representatives: Can we ask about progress of or lack of progress in Jagan’s cases?

Jagan representatives: No no..They are already under court purview, our leader can’t discuss on such court related matters.

Media representatives: You are saying “No no ” for everything. So what can we ask.

jagan representatives: You can ask about Chandrababu and his ruling, you can ask about pada yatra and public response for that, you can ask how he endured his political journey these many years despite so many pressures and hurdles, you can ask how his padayatra is comparable with YSR’s padayatra before 2004, you can ask how he balances his political life and personal life, you can ask what kind of cooperation he is getting from his family members, you can ask all these questions…

Media representatives: Ok, we’ll get back to you…..

Hope anyone can understand the plight of media representatives who faced the above discussion and also understand the reason why the top channels put Jagan’s interview on hold.

YS Jagan’s candid answer on the question of joining BJP

0

YS Jagan will alliance with BJP

There have been rumors recently that BJP-TDP alliance will be broken soon and YSRCP replacing TDP in NDA. Though several analysts tried to answer this question based on their analysis, Chandra Babu Naidu (CBN) or Jagan did not answer this question until recently. But Jagan in a recent interview (yes, correct, to Sakshi channel only) answered this question and made some interesting comments.

Initially Jagan commented that this is the rumor created by none other than TDP party and the media channels that are pro-TDP. Though Jagan accepted that this is just a rumor at this point of time, but still he also spoke on BJP in a positive tone. Jagan did not utter any single word to criticize BJP. He also did not give any ascertaining statement that he will never join BJP.

In fact he told he will join BJP if things work out BUT he has one specific condition to BJP that BJP has to grant Special Category status to AP state. If they do so, Jagan is ready to join BJP and this statement came from none other than Jagan himself.

Supplement question was asked by anchor that whether TDP-BJP alliance would be broken any soon. Jagan said that TDP chief Chandrababu is scared of coming out of NDA government because of vote for note case. So Jagan predicted CBN will not come out of NDA any soon. But Jagan’s statements gave sufficient hints that YSRCP is definitely ready to join hands with BJP in case TDP leaves the alliance. Though Jagan openly told his prediction that CBN will not break with BJP immediately, he seems to be “optimistic” and it seems he is predicting that break-up to happen 3 to 6 months before 2019 elections. If Jagan joins hands with BJP, it will be definitely a game changer but we have to wait and see who will climb the ladder and who will be eaten by snake and back to sqaure one if this game happens!!

Blisters on feet, will Jagan take a break for Padayatra

0

YSRCP president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s Padayatra going on successfully for almost 3 weeks. He covered almost 300 km in this 3 weeks period. He is currently touring Aluru constituency in Kurnool district. But he had developed blisters on his feet that gives raise to the doubts whether he will continue or take a break.

The pictures of Jagan foot developing on his feet and fingers have come out and it seems his wife Bharati also reached that place to inquire his health condition. Jagan got blisters on feet now and he is yet to cover almost 2700 km as part of this Padayatra and that is causing concern to his followers and well wishers. On the other hand though the others like YSR, CBN had also developed blisters and other problems, Jagan getting problems in the first 3 weeks of padayatra that is planned for 6 months surprised many and some doubt whether he will continue his yatra or take a break for few days.

YSRCP circles say, he got specialized treatment for this and he is going to continue padayatra as he has tremendous will power. But we have to wait and see whether he will continue all 3000 km without taking any break or will there be any break for a few days. Onething is clear, Pdayatra is not everyone’s cup of tea!!

Jagan blames “Yellow media” for stories on him topping ED list

YS Jagan blames Yellow media

ED has recently drawn up a list of top money launderers and the shell companies used by them to do money laundering into and out of the country. The list includes some top politicians of the country including YS Jagan. This news was first published in national media and the excerpts of the article were later republished in local media. Obviously, being leaders from opponent party, TDP leaders highlighted this news and made comments on Jagan. But Jagan’s Sakshi now published an article blaming this is nothing but “Yellow media’s” attempt to malign Jagan’s image .

Elaborate article in Sakshi published today reveals that this is all done as per a preconceived master plan. As per the plan, yellow media (referring to, probably Andhra Jyothy and Eenadu) publishes the news without any proofs and then ruling party leaders use that story as basis and makes further scathing comments on Jagan. Then, the same yellow media highlights these statements to further damage YSRCP’s political prospects. Sakshi also reiterates this ED list of “toppers” is a fake news cooked by Yellow media and there is no such list published in ED website. Sakshi also remarks, this is not new and yellow media is doing the same since Jagan came into political arena. In fact Chandrababu met Chidambaram in the dark and conspired to make sure Jagan will be in Jail.

However, Sakshi story conveniently ignored a few facts in this story. It is not the local Telugu news papers that published the news first. It was published in national media which Telugu media republished. Also Sakshi’s main argument that the story is fake is based on the fact that ED website never published any such list. The original article never mentioned that the news was published in their website. Also, ED’s website is to provide the info to public about their institution but not to keep the details of the cases they are handling. Moreover, Sakshi has been writing for last several years that Chandra Babu met Chidambaram in the dark. Even in today’s article too they mentioned the same but Sakshi never proved or showed evidence on that. So if writing something without being able to prove publicly is the attribute of “Yellow media” (as Sakshi defines it), even Sakshi also will become yellow media with this kind of propaganda. Sakshi also tried to explain the shell companies allegation with its regular logic. But people are not buying Sakshi’s argument in this aspect as they have seen Jagan’s I-T filings growing exponentially each year since 2004.

Anyway, until court either absolves or convicts Jagan, these kind of stories are expected to continue in the media……

Jagan becomes one of the toppers, but this one embarrasses him.

0

The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) is the law enforcement agency and economic intelligence agency comprising officers from the Indian Revenue Service, IPS and IAS. It is responsible for enforcing economic laws and fighting economic crime in India. ED has recently drawn up a list of top money launderers and the shell companies used by them to do money laundering into and out of the country. The list includes some top politicians of the country including YS Jagan.

Topper the list is one Afroz Mohammed Hasanfatta and Madanlal Jain of Surat who laundered money to Dubai and Hong Kong. Together the duo allegedly laundered Rs 5,400 crore through 30 shell companies. NKS Holdings Pvt Ltd of Delhi is second on the list and allegedly laundered Rs 3,790 crore using 95 shell companies.

The politicians in the list include Jagan Mohan Reddy of YSR Congress who is accused by the agency of laundering at least Rs 368 crore through 31 shell companies linked to him and his associates. The other prominent politician is Chhagan Bhujbal, NCP leader and former deputy CM of Maharashtra, who is being investigated for allegedly laundering Rs 200 crore using 81 shell companies. Jagan stood at 10th place in the list.

List includes not only politicians and business companies, it alsi includes beuracrats. An IAS officer, Babulal Agarwal, also figured on the list. Agarwal, former Chhattisgarh principal secretary, is accused of laundering Rs 60 crore through at least 13 shell companies.

While Jagan is doing Padayatra to gain public support, his name surfacing frequently in these kind of reports is definitely an embarrassment for him. Couple of weeks back, Paradise papers created sort of tremors in the state as his links were mentioned .

CBI court’s strong comments on Jagan’s lawyers

0

CBI court’s strong comments on Jagan’s lawyers.

YS Jagan, who is doing padayatra, took a break yesterday to attend CBI court on his disproportionate assets (DA) case.

The arguments were heard over Jagan, Vijaya Sai Reddy and Jagati publications’ discharge petitions. At one point of time, court made strong comments on Jagan’s lawyers that ” You have been wasting court’s valuable time from past two years with unnecessary arguments. We have not seen something like this in our entire 30 year service. We are vexed with your ways , enough of the delay”.

These comments were made in response to request of Jagan’s advocates asking for adjournment of the trial frequently and requesting to club the trial of Jagathi, Hetero and Ramki cases.

Case was adjourned to next Friday, 24th November 2017.

I don’t have a penny: Jagan

0

I don’t have a penny: YS Jagan

Jagan’s pada yatra is going on successfully and he covered around 124 km till yesterday. Currently he is doing pada yatra in Kurnool district. But during pada yatra he is also talking to MLA aspirants.

Jagan is reportedly saying to the ticket aspirants ” I don’t have a penny”. Jagan is meeting a number of leaders daily in his Paadayatra. He is reportedly telling everyone that he doesn’t have much cash with him and he will not be able to fund them in upcoming elections. So he is telling all the candidates to get ready with 10-12 cr depending on the constituency. Even for pada yatra too , as per the grapevine, local leaders, MLA/ MP aspirants are made to shell out heavily from the pocket as Jagan is not taking out a penny from his pocket.

But Jagan saying he does not have money is surprising. There could be only two reasons for that, some say, one – his money and accounts might be under ED and I-T scanner and he can’t mobilize money as freely as previously he used to do. Two – though Jagan has money he doesn’t want to spend his own money for MLAs. No takers for third possibility – that he really doesn’t have money!!!

Sakshi misdefines “Rajanna Rajyam”

Sakshi misdefines “Rajanna Rajyam

Jagan started his foot march Praja Sankalpa Yatra” last week and that has been going on successfully till now. Before starting this Pada yatra, Jagan requested CEOs of all TV channels to give proper coverage for his pada yatra. Some of them obliged it and some not. But Jagan’s own Sakshi channel and daily have been giving the full coverage to his state tour and presenting different articles/stories on the same. But while doing so whether intentionally or not, Sakshi is portraying Jagan’s slogan “Rajanna Rajyam” in a wrong manner which is causing more harm than good to Jagan,

Sakshi wrote in his today’s edition, that some farmers whom Jagan met told him – “During YSR regime, nobody asked them to pay electricity bills, even nobody fixed electricity meters for SC/ST houses. But now, their during Chandra Babu’s regime, life is miserable. If we take the bike out, we need at least 500/- . Police are penalizing us 100/- for not having driving license, another 100/- for not having helmet and petrol prices are ever increasing. In addition there is GST. If we don’t pay electricity bill on time, we are penalized with 100/- late charge. After going through all these suffering, why should we vote for Chandra Babu again”, they questioned. This is the article published today in Sakshi.

Even though Sakshi’s intention of portraying Rajanna Rajyam as pro poor government is good, Sakshi’s story is actually misdefining Rajanna Rajyam. On the other hand, it is actually answering the question “Why middle class people always kept Jagan at bay though rural people are supporting Jagan”. As per Sakshi’s definition Rajanna Rajayam is this – “You don’t have to pay electricity bills, you even don’t have to have electricity meters at your home though you are using electricity, you will not be penalized if you drive without helmet and even without driving license”. This is is the meaning Sakshi is conveying through that article. So, if somebody is using electricity and not paying the bills, obviously government will increase the tariffs and get it collected from those (middle class) who pay bills regularly. So, obviously Sakshi is scaring middle class people on consequences of Rajanna Rajyam restoring in the state.

To be frank, there have been so many good things that late YSR has done and Sakshi should have focused on those to portray Rajanna Rajyam in a good way. For example, the projects that he built, the schemes that he introduced like 108, ArogyaSree.. these all could have been highlighted as part of Rajanna Rajyam instead of misdefining Rajanna Rajyam. But as always, Sakshi didn’t bother on the logic and focused on emotions and churned out article that cause more harm than good to Jagan. Let’s see if Sakshi corrects its mistake or not!!!

Jagan in PK’s wonderland

0

All is not well in Jagan’s camp. That is the general feeling among watchers of YSR Congress chief’s padayatra in Andhra Pradesh. His record-breaking 3,000km-long walkathon attempt, he began on November 5 to garner public support for his bid to become chief minister in 2019, appears to be an exercise in futility.

Reasons are many. By the time he completes his epic walk –given the delays caused by court appearances and health conditions — elections will be still a year away. Poll history and trends anywhere in the world show that the last-minute campaign will have an effective impact on voters. If that is the case, Jaganmohan Reddy has to put in as much, or more, effort as he is now to pull off a victory for his party to form a government. What it boils down to is he should not end up as a spent force before the final campaign.

But his poll strategists, led by Prashant Kishor (PK as he is popularly known) seem to have a different take. Jagan’s meet-the-people yatra is primarily aimed at interacting with rural people to understand their problems. Between the lines, what it means is, “I will resolve all your problems if you give me power.”

But in his hurry to replace the Telugu Desam Party and its supremo Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Jagan makes it so explicit that his one and the only agenda is to become the AP chief minister. Despite his PR exercise with Telugu and national media, he is not getting enough coverage except in his newspaper and TV channel Sakshi. In fact, he is running a padayatra diary in his daily detailing his progress laced with accusations against Congress and TDP. When the cases are in courts, is it prudent to exonerate himself from culpability?

Moreover, his much-publicised padayatra itself is under scanner in the social media. According to a WhatsApp message making the rounds, it costs Rs 2 crores a day and the expected total cost of his 200-day journey is Rs 500 crores! It doesn’t include the cost of PK poll strategy team that accompanies Jagan wherever he goes.

It is said that Jagan is a mere actor following the PK’s script (nothing to do with Aamir Khan’s film!) that has all the necessary ingredients to make him sit in CM’s chair in Amaravati in 2019. If insiders are to be believed, PK is the new power centre and the new reality has cheesed off YSR Congress party loyalists and Jagan’s confidants.

In a way, the party and its leadership is struggling to balance the exigencies of winning the 2019 poll battle with out-of-box ideas and the traditional methods followed by the late YS Rajasekhar Reddy.

To make his dream a reality, Jagan has to first establish his credentials as an effective alternative to Chandrababu. Despite mass attendance at his meetings, people are yet to be convinced about Jagan’s capabilities because he hasn’t gone beyond CM bashing and invoking his father’s legacy. Boycotting the current AP Assembly session on flimsy grounds proves this point.

Will support BJP, if ..: YS Jagan

0

YS Jagan Says Will support BJP

Jagan who has been doing Pada yatra surprised many when he told he will support BJP in his recent interview to an English daily.

YS Jagan told that his party backed demonetisation and GST since they are much-needed reforms, which are being taken up across the globe. The only factor that is causing some disturbance is the rates and slabs of GST. In fact, GST has benefited some manufacturing sectors like steel and cement. YSRCP’s support to the BJP is issue based. YSRCP went against the BJP on special category status and land reforms. We will support the BJP if they agree to confer special category status to Andhra.

When asked about court dismissing his plea to exempt from personal appearance at the court during padayatra, he told “I don’t think the BJP has any role (in CBI court’s decision). In Andhra, we don’t need the BJP or Congress. They need regional parties than regional parties needing them. But we need the BJP’s support for special category status to Andhra. Only the incentives associated with special category status will help Andhra attract large scale investments and jobs to scores of unemployed youth.”

He also added that Congress party has no place in Andhra. The BJP has some vote share. Communists too have little vote share. We hope response to my padayatra will help the BJP change its stand on special category status.

So, when he told, he will raise the issue of Special Category status (SCS) during padayatra, people thought he may fire on BJP for not granting SCS. But surprisingly, he is going too soft on BJP and moreover he is saying, by seeing the response to his padayatra, BJP will change its stand on SCS. So, it is very clear that he is not going to utter even one harsh word on BJP during his padayatra and he will be happy if BJP extends their hands to join him. At least, this is what the message people get from his interview

Jagan flouts Tirumala Tirupati TTD norms yet again

0

Jagan Refuses to Sign Declaration in Tirumala

Jagan is starting his foot march (Padayatra) from this Monday. Just 2 days before starting his padayatra, today, he visited Tirumala. He came to Tirumala in a traditional Hindu dress along with his close aides. All was well until TTD superintendent came with the forms of declaration to be signed, but it is then Jagan sprang surprise as he just ignored and moved on. Full details are as below.

In 1990, a government order was released (G.O. No. 311). (GO MS No. 311 of AP Revenue Endowments-1). As per this, – “It is now a mandatory rule for all those belonging to various faiths other than Hinduism

to sign a declaration form before entering the hill temple stating that they have faith in the presiding deity.” In line with this G.O.311, TTD’s act number 136 was incorporated in TTD rules. According to this rule, the people belonging to other religions must sign the formal declaration for Tirumala darshan. Even though TTD can not identify all non-Hindus visiting Tirumala and ask them to sign the declaration, TTD made it mandatory for the VIPs to sign the declaration.

When Sonia Gandhi visited TTD way back, she had signed the declaration form. But Jagan never signed the form though he is a christian. And this is not the first time. In 2012, after floating YSRCP, he visited Tirumala along with Bhumana Karunakara Reddy and denied to sign the form when TTD superintendent asked him to do so. Bhumana was former TTD chairman and he also did not insist Jagan to sign that time. Fast forward to 2017, again the same scene repeated. But this time TTD officials did not force him to sign. They just came and showed the forms. Jagan and co just ignored the forms and moved on. This triggered sort of controversy yet again. But immedeiately after this episode, Bhumana Karunakara Reddy gave statement that Jagan is staunch follwer of Hinduism.

Well, there could different repercussions for this episode. In fact, technically there is a catch here. Many people who convert to christianity follow that religion but they don’t bother to change the name of religion in their education or other certificates. That means, as per records they are still Hindus. Even while filing the nomination form (Form 2A of election commission) for contesting as Member of parliament or Member of Legislative Assembly (Form 2B of election commission) one need not reveal his or her religion or caste unless they are contesting in a reserved constituency (for Scheduled caste or Scheduled tribes) in elections. So, nobody knows which religion Jagan is claiming in his certificates and other official records- Hindu or Christian. Of course, his family follows protestant christian faith and that is known to all. Having one religion in certificate and following another is also not a crime as per supreme court verdicts as long as he is not receiving any benefit from the government because of that religion. So, If as per the certificates , Jagan is a Hindu, he need not sign TTD declaration. But if he is Christian as per records, he MUST have signed the declaration and showed his respect for the norms and government orders.

Forget about legal repercussions for some time, let’s see what kind of questions Jagan will have to face from people in this regard. To be frank, Jagan could attract most of the minority votes in 2014 – mainly because this vote bank shifted from Congress party to YSRCP as Congress lost its existence in AP. Moreover, Muslims mostly stay away from BJP and its alliance parties and they had no option other than YSRCP in 2014 in AP. But Jagan, after 2014 elections, came to the conclusion that his ‘Christian’ tag made Hindus kept him at bay and started various attempts to attract Hindus (and their votes). His recent meet with Chinna Jeeyar Swamy seeking his blessings is one such attempt. He also met Swarupananda Swamy and sought his blessings. His close associates are talking of doing ‘Yagas and Yagnas’, of late. And, Jagan today went for Tirumala Darshan. All of this is fine, but when the TTD superintendent came with those declaration forms to be signed, he simply ignored and moved on. If he is a Hindu as per records, in which case he need not sign, he can openly declare his faith to the people. But, as everyone knows, he can not do that. And if he is christian by faith as per records too, there is nothing wrong in that as anybody can practice any religion as per constitution but he must have signed the forms at TTD and show his respect for the norms. But, for some reason, he did not do that too.

Jagan seems to be somehow losing his strong base in minorities by giving unconditional support to Modi and BJP at times and at the same time he is not gaining the new base in majorities by doing this kind of silly mistakes. One thing that he, or for that matter any political leader needs to understand is this – they can not simply pretend on something and gain political advantage. People are not that gullible. Don’t take people for granted !!!

Exclusive – Divya Reddy’s growing influence in Sakshi and YSRCP

Divya Reddy’s growing influence in Sakshi and YSRCP

YSRCP Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been working hard to end up victorious in the 2019 elections. However his family dominance turned out to be a huge threat for his party. Divya Bollareddy, a cousin of Jagan’s wife Bharati Reddy turned out to be a reason for many leaving the party. She is an NRI from USA who lived there for 10 years and moved to India. Educated at Illinois Institute of Technology, she worked at Motorola for a decade before moving back to India.

Divya Reddy was appointed as the President of IT Digital for Sakshi group. It was with her dominance, many veterans working in Sakshi called it a quit. Veterans at Sakshi were concerned with lack of journalism experience of Divya Reddy and Point to failure of digital initiatives in English and other languages which were started under her helm.

Now sources informed Telugu360 that YS Jagan appointed her as the IT cell ordinator for NRI department of YSRCP which irked many NRIs. With no option left, many NRIs left their positions with Divya Reddy’s arrival. A NRI who was disillusioned with recent developments lamented – “This is akin to appointing a Reddy as a BC Commission head. How can Jagan appoint a non NRI to this post”? A trend of appointing his relatives has been getting repeated in YSRCP and YS Jagan is yet to realize the consequences. Its high time for the young politician to realize such things and bring some efficient people on board.

Another Jolt To Jagan As YCP MLA Rajeswari Joins TDP

YCP MLA Rajeswari Joins TDP

A big blow was received by YSRCP Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy, as one of his party’s MLA joined Telugu Desam Paty (TDP) this morning. The jolt comes just two days ahead of his planned Padayatra.

Vantala Rajeswari, the YSRCP MLA joined TDP on Saturday in the presence of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at his residence in Amaravati. She represents Rampachodavaram Assembly constituency in East Godavari district. Now, the number of YCP MLAs, who have defected to TDP has risen to 22, with Rajeswari joining TDP.

The political analysts have termed this move as a huge blow to Jagan, not only because it happened right before he is set to start his six-month padayatra, but also because Rajeswari is an Agency MLA.

The YCP had clean swept all Agency constituencies in the 2014 assembly elections, and now TDP has got their first Agency MLA in the form of Rajeswari.

The TDP is scared of Jagan and YCP winning support of people during the course of Padayatra, alleged the YCP cadres. And that is the reason, the ruling party is trying to weaken their party by hook or crook.

The YSRCP had earlier announced not to attend winter Assembly sessions. The decision comes in wake of protest against the inaction of TDP government against political defectors. Rumors have started doing rounds in the political parties that the TDP has started the second round of operation, Akarsh and a few more YCP MLAs are in talks to join TDP very soon. It is speculated that the YCP MLAs could be four from Rayalaseema region and 3 from Uttarandhra region.

YS Jagan Visits Tirumala

YS Jagan Visits Tirumala

The holy temple town of Tirumala in Andhra Pradesh was visited by YSR Congress Party President, Mr. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday morning.

Before embarking on a 3,000 km long “Praja Sankalpa Yatra”, Jagan had travelled to Tirupati, to seek blessings. The main aim of the padayatra would be to cover 13 districts and in a duration of six months. The padayatra is scheduled to take off from November 6.

The ‘failures of the Chandrababu Naidu government’ and stress on the need for Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra would be highlighted by the party, which ultimately aims at unseating the ruling TDP government.

Meanwhile, the TDP lawmakers have referred the padayatra as a “Yatra for power” as Jagan has all set his eyes on the Chief Minister’s seat. But, the YSRCP refuted the claims and said that it is a Yatra to highlight people’s problems.

The YSRCP has also decided to boycott the winter session of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly, which will start in the second week on November. Under Schedule 10 of the Constitution – also known as the anti-defection law, the legislators be disqualified, demanded the YSRCP.

The Assembly Speaker and the President of India have been approached by the party, demanding that they take cognizance of the situation. A letter to the President of India was written by Jaganmohan Reddy, on October 26, seeking his intervention into the matter of ‘encouraged defections from his party to the ruling TDP’.

Chandrababu Naidu was accused by Jagan for his ‘unethical and unconstitutional practice of masterminding defections’, in the letter.

YSR Congress Party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy said that Chandrababu Naidu will lose deposit in the upcoming elections. He said that his party has the audacity to win the elections despite numerous conspiracies against them. The opposition leader criticized the Chief Minister for displaying arrogance. He pointed that there are no Muslims in Chandrababu’s Cabinet. He accused that thousand crores worth corruption took place in TDP’s rule.

Jagan said that the TDP chief gave up on the Special Category status only to get saved from the cases against him. Former Congress MLA Malladi Vishnu joined YSRCP on Thursday in the presence of the party president. Welcoming Vishnu into the party, Jagan said that people are taking a note of the path taken by the Opposition party.

Vishnu said that he would work towards ensuring win for YSRCP in 2019 elections. He said that the government gets terrified when Jagan visits Vijayawada. He envisaged that the opposition party will win the next assembly elections.

It’s just a reverie, Mr Jagan, you can’t pay Naidu back on same coin

0

I have personally covered the whole process of leadership change in the Telugu Desam Party in August 1995. I have been able to smell rat in the relations among the top echelons of the leadership of the party very well in advance, even before Chandrababu Naidu egged his friendly media against Lakshmi Parvati to malign her and the cascading effect had fallen on NTR and his staunch supporters.

Well, all that is history. Why at all now should there be a reference to that? Naidu has always maintained a well-oiled machinery on multiple spheres to work for him without uttering a word, thus emerging as the most unpredictable leader of that season and genre.

YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s ranting about the leadership change in the State, as “a lot of MLAs from the TDP are in touch” with him doesn’t portend a threat for the Government at the helm. A politician must wear on his sleeve an element of diplomacy and some knack to hide his emotions. He should never give an impression that he is just another windbag.

Jagan, for some strange reasons, has left an impression among the people that he is just blabbering out of frustration. He almost has announced that he is out to pull a fast one on Naidu’s TDP Government in Andhra Pradesh. For a minute, even if one trusts that what the Leader of the Opposition has claimed has some substance in it, why wouldn’t a politically astute Chandrababu Naidu take a cue from this and dig a moat around all his MLAs?

Jagan cannot foresee what’s in store for him in politically-charged situations. He is now 43. Almost around the same age, Chandrababu Naidu – He was 44 when he became the Chief Minister first — meticulously engineered a palace coup and usurped power from the mighty N T Rama Rao sans much ado before. He had only prepared himself and his mechanism to effectively combat the aftermath of pulling down the political behemoth from the throne.

When Jagan recklessly announced that several MLAs of the ruling party were in touch with him, it did not seem to be a retort to the propaganda of the Chandrababu Naidu’s own trumpets. He just appeared like a weak-kneed leader who blurted out a meek repartee, which is indeed uncalled for from him.

People began deriding his claim.

Why doesn’t Jagan factor in the far-reaching consequences of his statements that rattle his personal political stature and fledgling party’s future?

It is true, if 23 MLAs cross over to Jagan’s side, he can turn the tables against Naidu. But how easy or how difficult it is. If it were to be that simple, he would have played this banal political game long ago and stopped Naidu in his tracks. But, for swapping positions with Naidu, Jagan has to choose a straight route of winning the polls by trudging the path of political toil. If he wants a backdoor entry into the saddle, it will remain a reverie.

No, Mr Jagan. This is not the way you should be speaking. If you think you have so much of a clout among the TDP MLAs, I think you are wrong. You cannot pay Naidu back on the same coin.
