Jagan’s attacker Srinivas gets bail

0

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s attacker, Janipalli Srinivasa Rao, secured bail from the AP high court on Thursday. The court granted him conditional bail with Rs 25,000 and two sureties.

The court told Srinivasa Rao not to speak to the media about the case. It also directed him to appear before the Mummadivaram police station on every Sunday till further orders.

Srinivasa Rao challenged the NIA court’s decision cancelling his petition for bail. He told the court that he had been in jail for five years and there was no investigation. He further told the court that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy was not attending the court for hearings.

Srinivasa Rao is an accused in the attack on Jagan Mohan Reddy at Visakhapatnam airport. The accused attacked Jagan Mohan Reddy with a sharp knife while trying to take a selfie with Jagna Mohan Reddy in the airport.

Jagan Mohan Reddy escaped unhurt and was treated in Hyderabad before the 2019 general election. The case was heard in the NIA court in Vijayawada for three years and then was shifted to Visakhapatnam two years ago.

Srinivasa Rao’s parents held a fasting protest in Vijayawada demanding that their son be released on bail. Even Srinivasa Rao also held a protest in the jail on the same demand. The high court heard the arguments on both sides last month and reserved the judgement.

The advocate for Srinivasa Rao told the high court that Jagan Mohan Reddy was not attending the court for the hearings forcing Srinivasa Rao to be in jail. It was not proper for a person facing murder charges to be in jail without trial, the advocate told the court.

Red sanders mafia ruling the roost in State, says Lokesh

0

Stating that the sed sanders mafia is ruling the roost in the State, TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Tuesday that the killing of constable Ganesh in KV Palli mandal of Annamayya district earlier in the day reflects the fact that the mafia’s atrocities have reached its peak.

Lokesh said that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rule has become a golden era for the smugglers. In fact, the red sanders mafia has taken birth with the Punganur Veerappan, Minister, Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and the international smuggler, Gangireddy, he added.

By declaring these red sanders smugglers as the YSRCP candidates for the upcoming polls, Jagan has established a green channel for these smugglers. If the police personnel come in the way of these smugglers they are being finished and the killing of the Task Force constable earlier in the day reflects the fact that these smugglers have the blessings of the ruling party elders, Lokesh said.

Paying tributes to the Task Force constable, Ganesh, who was laid down his life while on duty, Lokesh expressed deep felt sympathies to the bereaved family members. Demanding that the State Government immediately come to the rescue of the family of Ganesh, Lokesh said that the culprits who killed the constable should be punished severely.

The Task Force constable, Ganesh, was crushed to death under a running vehicle in KV Palli mandal of Annamayya district by suspected red sanders smugglers and he succumbed to injuries while being shifted to the nearby hospital.

We observed fiscal discipline despite constraints, says Jagan

0

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that Government had implemented welfare schemes and took up development activities with financial discipline despite adverse situations like Covid, inheriting strained and complex status from the previous TDP rule and he pooh-poohed Chandrababu Naidu’s tall promises ahead of elections as the Opposition leader carries the blemish of dumping manifesto into dustbin while YSRCP treats it as a holy book.

Replying to the discussion on the Motion of thanks to Governor’s address in the Assembly here on Tuesday, the Chief Minister also dismissed the charges that Government has made State debt-ridden and said that the State had rolled out DBT welfare schemes worth Rs 2,55,000 crore and non-DBT welfare schemes worth Rs. 1,07,000 crores. The previous government too had the same budget, but it could not deliver welfare as the difference speaks in the commitment of the Chief Ministers then and now.

He said that the debt of the residual Andhra Pradesh which stood at Rs 1,53,000 crore including all types of loans at the time of bifurcation had gone up to Rs 4,12,288 crore in 2019 when YSRCP came to power.

Now, the total debt stands at Rs 7,03,000 crore and it clearly indicates that the growth rate of debt during the TDP rule stood at 21.87 per cent, it stands at 12.13 per cent during the last 5 years, he said, adding that not even a single welfare scheme was implemented during the TDP rule though the budget was the same and the debt-growth rate was higher.

Braving the odds of reduction in devolution of Central funds and reduced tax revenues during the last five years due to several reasons including the Covid-19 pandemic that resulted in Rs 66,116 crore revenue loss, Government has excelled in fiscal discipline, debt management, planning and implementation of slew of welfare schemes transparently.

The Chief Minister recalled that the state was bifurcated in an unjust manner allocating 50 per cent of the revenues to Telangana that represented 42 per cent of the population and the remaining 50 per cent to residual Andhra Pradesh that has 58 per cent population putting the State to a yearly revenue loss of Rs 13,000 crore.

Coming down heavily against the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for making false election promises for political gains, he said that Government needs to spend around more than Rs. 1, 26,000crore annually for fulfilling them.

When we are striving hard to implement DBT and non-DBT welfare schemes worth around Rs. 70,000 crores annually, how can Chandrababu Naidu mobilize Rs. 1, 26,000crore on his false promises, he questioned.

Like a copycat, Naidu made mix of six election promises at will and pleasure picking them up from the election manifestoes of other parties that won in other states with a view to cheat the people again, the Chief Minister said.

Debunking the theory of wealth creation advocated by the TDP friendly media for implementing the impracticable promises, the Chief Minister asked why Naidu failed in creating wealth during his earlier tenures.

While Chandrababu Naidu stands for lies, this Government stands for credibility, he said, adding that the TDP was shown the door in 2019 with just 23 seats as people understood his nature of telling lies and cheating the people.

Asserting that Naidu only pursued the policy of plunder, stash and devour during his rule, the Chief Minister appealed to the people to think over why Naidu failed to implement even a single welfare scheme during his rule while the budget was the same.

Like the old hungry tiger, Naidu has been throwing the bait to the people with false promises to cheat them once again, he said, adding that people still remember how Naidu defaulted on the loan waiver Rs. 87,612 crore.

“I sat in the Opposition for five years for not making the false promise of farm loan waiver prior to 2014 elections but I have no regrets for that. I make only promises that can be fulfilled for the benefit of the people,” he said, asserting that YSRCP won a permanent place in the hearts of the people with its credibility.

Despite the heavy financial odds, we have implemented more than 99 per cent of our election promises, and our credibility will ensure that YSRCP will clean sweep the elections and introduce the full-fledged budget in the Assembly after three months, the Chief Minister asserted.

Though Jagan offering tickets candidates not ready to contest polls, says Chandrababu

0

TDP president, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Monday said that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is not ‘Siddham’ (ready) for the upcoming Assembly elections but he has several doubts on going to polls.

Addressing a massive public meeting at Madugula in Anakapalle district as part of the ongoing ‘Raa Kadali Raa’ programme, Chandrababu Naidu said that though Jagan is offering party tickets to the leaders for the Assembly elections, the candidates are not ready to be in the race. Chandrababu is of the firm opinion that the power charges are revised nine times as Jagan has pressed the button.

In a sarcastic way, the TDP supremo asked Jagan as to why he has not pressed the button for the job calendar, imposing total prohibition and on the revocation of Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS). “I am sure that Jagan will certainly go home with the button to be pressed by the voters,” Chandrababu Naidu remarked.

Expressing deep concern that Visakhapatnam, which was once known as the financial capital of Andhra Pradesh, has now turned into the capital for crime, the former chief minister said that though Jagan wants to go to Visakhapatnam, the local people are not ready to welcome him. “In fact the locals are asking him not to come there at all,” he added.

Chandrababu Naidu expressed surprise as to why hundreds of crores of public money is being paid to the advisors and asked whether Jagan can spell out even a single advice given by them except swallowing hundreds of crores of public money. The former chief minister said that the TDP-Jana Sena combine has already won the polls in the public domain and expressed confidence that the alliance will certainly emerge victorious and form the government after the polls.

On watching the tremendous response to this public meeting the Tadepalle man will get nervous and in the coming days he will not even get sleep, Chandrababu remarked. He firmly believes that whichever party the youth supports will only win the polls and the upcoming elections will decide the future of the entire Telugu community.

Maintaining that he has seen several leaders in his political career but has never seen a psycho like Jagan, he said that the State will prosper only if Jagan is out of power. “Not the question of how many times you have pressed the button but you should reveal how much you have swallowed,” Chandrababu stated.

Regretting that North Andhra, which he said he likes very well, has turned into a centre for violence, turbulence and land encroachments, he said that Jagan has encroached even Rishi Konda. Recalling how he has developed Hyderabad city by welcoming several international companies, Chandrababu said Jagan, however, has been chasing out the companies that have already established their units in the State.

Chandrababu Naidu promised to implement much better welfare schemes than the YSRCP Government has implemented and mentioned about the Super-Six schemes in which youth will be provided 20 lakh jobs in five years and pension for women. “My wish is to implement the ‘poor to rich’ scheme and take the Telugu community to the top of the world.

“You all make a step forward and I will March 100 steps ahead to bring the State back into development,” Chandrababu Naidu told the gathering.

Jagan will remain in history as failure CM, feels Chandrababu

0

TDP president and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, feels that Jagan Mohan Reddy will remain as the most failure Chief Minister in the history.

Releasing a chargesheet on ‘Praja court, promises Jagan failed to implement’, during the TDP Legislature Party meeting held at his residence in Vundavalli in Amaravathi on Sunday Chandrababu Naidu strongly believed that Jagan will certainly be punished in the people’s court as he has cheated the people with false promises and fake assurances. “Jagan will remain in the history as the most failure Chief Minister,’ he remarked.

Jagan who came to power by making all false promises has totally neglected all the assurances given to the people thus taking them for a ride, Chandrababu said. Jagan has made a total of 730 promises to the people either in his election manifesto or during his pada yatra of which he has not implemented at least 21 per cent, he said.

“But Jagan is simply cheating the public by claiming that he has already implemented 99 per cent of the promises he has made,” Chandrababu Naidu commented. In a couple of months Jagan will face the consequences in the people’s court, he remarked.

Pointing out that Jagan has assured the people that the power tariff will not be be revised, Chandrababu said that he has imposed a massive financial burden of Rs 64,000 cr on the power consumers. The TDP supremo also said that the assurance given to the people on total prohibition is also completely ignored and raised Rs 25,000 cr loan by mortgaging the revenue on liquor sale.

Chandrababu also asked as to what happened to the promise to fill 2.3 lakh vacant posts in different government wings and said that a financial burden of Rs 8 lakh is imposed on every family in the State by hiking the prices of essential commodities. Also, Jagan is simply looting the public by increasing the petrol and diesel prices besides taking a ‘U’ turn on Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS). He is now taking excuse by claiming that he has made this promise without proper knowledge, he added.

What happened to the assurance given to the people that he will achieve Special Category Status for the State, Chandrababu asked and said that not even a single irrigation project is completed though he has claimed that he would take up ‘jala yagnam’.

There is no word about job calendar though he has said that he will issue the calendar on January 1 every year, the TDP supremo pointed out. He could not fulfill even the promise of setting up a steel plant in his home district while the weekly off promise made to the police personnel is totally ignored, Chandrababu stated. Jagan had thus not implemented several assurances given to the people, Chandrababu Naidu observed.

TDP State unit president, Atchen Naidu, the leader of the Opposition in the State Legislative Council, Yenamala Ramakrishunudu, party MLAs and MLCs were present.

Jagan has credit of exploiting police for ganja smuggling: Lokesh

0

Terming Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, as an economic extremist, TDP general secretary, Nara Lokesh, on Friday said that since the State is now in the hands of such an economic extremist all the resources are being subjected to looting and atrocity is ruling the roost.

Lokesh said that as Jagan has mastered the art of economic crimes some police personnel are fast turning out to be thieves, smugglers and kidnappers. Committing crimes has almost become a habit for some police personnel as Jagan has been making use of them as factionists for his political vendetta, he remarked.

Since the ruling dispensation has been making use of the Crime Investigative Department (CID) officials for kidnaps and black mailings the police personnel have come to a conclusion that they can certainly rule the roost, Lokesh said. These police personnel are forming into various gangs and are resorting to kidnaps and smuggling which is resulting in this system getting totally destroyed, he regretted.

It is really causing a great concern that a sub-inspector, Sujan, who is working with the office of the DIG of Kurnool formed a gang, has kidnapped the chairman of an IT company in the name of a CID team and was caught by the Hyderabad police, Lokesh said in the press note. The police personnel who are well aware that the ganja mafia has the blessings of the top persons in the State Government have become the ganja smugglers, he added.

The incident in which a head constable of the third battalion of the Andhra Pradesh Special Police (APSP) force at Kakinada along with a constable are caught by the Hyderabad police clearly indicates that the State police personnel have turned into smugglers, Lokesh maintained.

Meanwhile, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu said that for the past four and a half years, Andhra Pradesh had made more headlines for drugs than development. The recent arrest of two police officers from Kakinada in an anti-drug operation in Hyderabad is a matter of deep concern and embarrassment for our state, he said. In light of this regrettable incident, the YSRCP government must address a crucial question of who the mastermind behind this racket is and who are the leaders involved, he asked.

Jagan failed to get Central funds for implementing bifurcation promises, says Atchen Naidu

0

Hailing the Union budgetary proposals presented to the Lok Sabha by Minister for Finance, Nirmala Seetharaman, earlier in the day, TDP State unit president, Kinjerapu Atchen Naidu, on Thursday said that Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, failed utterly to get funds for implementing the promises made in the Andhra Pradesh State Bifurcation Act.

“The Union budgetary proposals are designed in such a way that by 2047 by which time the country will be completing a century becoming an independent India to take the nation to join the list of the developed countries in the world,” Atchen Naidu said in a press note released here. The decisions taken by the Centre in designing the budgetary proposals are certainly towards achieving this goal, the TDP State unit president felt.

Atchen Naidu particularly felt happy at giving top priority to creating basic amenities and providing job opportunities to the youth. “It is highly appreciable that Rs 11 lakh cr has been allocated in the budgetary proposals for creating basic amenities which will totally transform the nation’s profile besides announcing the decision to implement the Skill India Mission to the youth in the country,” the TDP State president felt.

At the same time, Atchen Naidu recalled that Andhra Pradesh stood on top in the country during 2014-19 in providing job opportunities to the youth through skill development. He, however, said that the Jagan Mohan Reddy Government has miserably failed in getting funds for the State though it is almost 10 years since the State Bifurcation Act has come into force.

“The State has suffered heavily in all sectors in the past five years due to the negligent attitude adopted by the Jagan Government,” Atchen Naidu said and demanded a reply from Jagan what he has achieved in the past five years though his party has 31 MPs. Is it not the failure of Jagan that he did not even allocate funds for the 11 Central educational institutions set up in the State during the TDP regime as part of the bifurcation promise, Atchen Naidu asked.

Jagan’s gooda raj in every corner of AP, says Naidu

0

TDP supremo and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Wednesday said that Jagan Mohan Reddy’ goonda raj ruling the roost in every corner of the State.

Chandrababu Naidu said that there is no Government in the State and all the systems are totally collapsed. “The incidents that have taken place in Martur and Kovvur reflect this fact,” he said.

Chandrababu Naidu demanded that the Director General of Police who has miserably failed to run the police setup as per the norms take voluntary retirement. The District Superintendents of Police have lost their respect to accept salutes even from home guards, Chandrababu Naidu remarked.

The former chief minister felt that the bureaucrats who are taking salaries from the public money should introspect. Either the police officers or the bureaucrats should function within the laid down norms, he added.

Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that in another couple of months they will be taught a lesson in the people’s court and the judiciary will certainly take to task those who committed blunders.

Jagan ran away from warfield much before polls, says Chandrababu

0

Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, who came to power by making an appeal to the people ‘with one chance’ has been harassing everyone ever since he took charge, said TDP supremo and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Sunday.

Addressing a massive public meeting here got up as part of the ongoing ‘Raa Kadali Raa’ programme, Chandrababu Naidu felt that this psycho Jagan will not get sleep tonight on learning about the huge crowd gathered for the meeting at Pattikonda now. Observing that he has never seen such a destructive Government in his political career, Chandrababu asked what did Jagan do for Kurnool district which has given him maximum number of seats.

“This Chief Minister has absolutely no knowledge to create assets but has mastered the art of uttering blatant lies,” he said. Stating that this area has a lot of Backward Classes (BCs), he asked what Jagan has done for the welfare of this section of society. In fact, he has withdrawn all the welfare schemes that were implemented by the earlier TDP government and did great injustice to the community, he remarked.

Chandrababu Naidu is confident of the TDP coming back to power as the people are ready to defeat the YSRCP. The former chief minister expressed concern that the youth are regularly migrating from Kurnool in search of employment and once the TDP is back in power these migrations will be completely checked.

Recalling how the TDP has encouraged the BCs and has given prime posts to various leaders, Chandrababu regretted that the BCs are now subjected to various kinds of attacks and harassments. But still no action has been initiated against those who are resorting to such attacks on BCs, he said. “Kodi Katti Seenu has been behind bars for the past five years while the person who killed the paternal uncle of Jagan is freely moving in public,” he said.

Promising to provide four lakh jobs every year, Chandrababu said that the youth will get jobs only if Babu is back in power. “I will take steps on work-from-home to avoid migrations to Hyderabad and Bengaluru. I am happy that the youth is responding very well everywhere,” he said and called upon the youth to work for bringing awareness among the people on the need to bring the TDP back to power.

Jagan is considering the minority communities only as a vote bank, he said and dared Jagan to get elected from Pulivendula. No leader is ready to contest the polls from YSRCP, he said and added that Jagan ran away from the warfield much before the election schedule is announced. The Chief Minister has totally damaged the State’s future, he said that everyone in the State, including himself, is a victim of Jagan.

Chandrababu Nakidu promised to supply the Godavari water to Rayalaseema and said that the people are the star campaigners for the downfall of Jagan. Reaffirming that all the schemes announced by the TDP will be implemented in letter and spirit, including three free cylinders and Talliki Vandanam, Chandrababu said that all the necessary steps will be taken for the welfare of the farming sector.

“There is every need to teach a fitting lesson to these YSRCP leaders who looted the State and send Jagan home,” Chandrababu Naidu observed.

Everyone is a victim of 5-year Jagan rule, says Naidu

0

Observing that the State has suffered heavily in all sectors in the past five years, TDP president and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Sunday remarked that everyone in the State is a victim of Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy’s rule.

Jagan has totally misused the power given by the people, Chandrababu Naidu said and expressed surprise whether there is any governance in the State. Addressing a huge public gathering here as part of the ongoing ‘Raa Kadali Raa’ programme, Chandrababu Naidu remarked that the prevailing situation in the State is so bad that even popular industrialists like Galla Jayadev are opining out of politics.

Expressing concern that one Durga Rao resorted to suicide in Macherla Assembly segment unable to bear the police harassment, Chandrababu said that he has developed the State much before Jagan is born. “Anyone in the State clearly accept that the State is developed on the foundations laid by me and I have brought in radical changes in the lifestyle of the people and this is unanimously admitted by those who are living in 80 different countries,” he remarked.

Stating that after the bifurction of the State he strived hard for building Amaravathi and for completing Polavaram proect, the former chief minister said that he made every attempt to invite industrialists to set up their units in the State. “Unformtunately after Jagan came to power he chased out all these industries and I am also a victim of Jagan,” he noted.

Reaffirming that he will personally take the responsibility to take the State and the Telugu commun to number one position in the world, Chandrababu promsied to initiate measures to strengthen the poor economically. “I am assuring you all that the TDP will take the responsibility of everyone,” he added.

Since the State is in deep distress, the TDP supremo said and stated that this is the reason as to why the party has given the call of ‘Raa Kadali Raa’ keeping in view the welfare of five crore people. Ridiculing the campaign undertaken by Jagan in the name of ‘Sidhdham’ (ready), Chandrababu asked if Jagan is ready why the YSRCP leaders are running away from him. “In the interest of the State I am giving a call to the YSRCP leaders too as ‘Raa Kadali Raa,” the former chief minister maintained.

Stating that not even a single section of people are happy in Jagan’s rule, he promised to take the responsibility to come to the rescue of the aqua culture. Recalling that the TDP has successfully implemented loan waiver scheme, Chandrababu said that the State stood on top in debts by farmers while in second place in tenant farmers suicides.

Asking as to how Jagan, who closed the Anna Canteens can call himslef to be the saviour of the poor, he said that even schemes like Chandranna Kanuka, Videsi Vidya qnd subsidies to farmers are also withdrawn. Did Jagan not build palaces in Tadepalle, Bengaluru, Pulivendula and Hyderabad besides in Rishi Konda with Rs 500 cr, Chandrababu asked.

Maintaining that Jagan has miserably failed to implement the promises that he has made to the people like filling up of vacant posts and issuing ob calender, Chandrababu assured the youth that he will initiate all necessary measures to provide 20 lakh jobs to the youth, including filling up of vacant posts in various governemnt wings. “We will pay Rs 3,000 per month to each joblesss youth till he or she gets employment,” he added.

Chandrababu Naidu said that the coming TDP government will certainly give proper respect to the sarpanches and asked what happened to the promise made by Jagan on total prohibition. Jagan is allotting tickets only to those who use highly objectionable language against him and other TDP leaders, Chandrababu Naidu said and felt that such persons are not fit for politics.

Jagan unveils roadmap for YSRCP cadre

0

Blowing the poll bugle, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy called upon the YSRCP cadre to publicize the good governance and transparent implementation of welfare schemes that benefitted majority people immensely in the last 56 months.

Addressing a public meeting of party cadres at Bheemili on Saturday, the Chief Minister unveiled the roadmap for the cadre to follow in the next 70 days for making a clean sweep in the ensuing elections by explaining about the Jagan Mark transformation that appears from Kuppam to Ichapuram.

Why cannot we win all 175 assembly seats and 25 Lok Sabha seats as we have brought revolutionary changes in educational, agricultural, health and medical and administrative sectors and implemented slew of welfare schemes without bias and transparency, he asked the enthusiastic YSRCP activists confidently.

He told the YSRCP activists to visit door- to-door and convey the message that the slew of welfare schemes will continue in future only if Jagan continues as Chief Minister.

Describing the cadre as his star campaigners and army, he told them to visit door-to-door and advise the people also to become the Party’s star campaigners while explaining the necessity of continuing YSRCP in power to get the welfare benefits.

While the welfare schemes implemented in the last 56 months are our arrows and ammunition, irrelevant and feudalistic parties, aided by their friendly media, are sharpening their ammunition with false promises and vicious propaganda to wage a war against the poor and the Government that stood by the SCs, STs, BCs and minorities, he said.

While the opposition parties are working on conspiracies and mislead the people for electoral gains, it is necessary for YSRCP cadre to explain about the welfare schemes that benefited people of all communities and all regions, he said.

He called upon the cadre to explain to the people how TDP president Chandrababu Naidu has cheated almost every section of society after winning the 2014 elections by dumping the election manifesto into dustbin and defaulting on more than 600 promises and in contrast, how YSRCP fulfilled 99 per cent of the election promises in the last 56 months.

People should know that it is necessary for YSRCP to make a clean sweep in the next elections to ensure that the welfare schemes will continue for the next 25 years, he said, adding that Chandrababu has no achievements to his credits despite being Chief Minister thrice.

He said that the changes in the rural landscape are tangible in village secretariats equipped by 10 members including women police, village clinics and family doctors that extend preventive health care to the people, the RBKs that handhold farming communities at every step and the volunteers who help the masses at every step.

Sharmila says she did not meet Jagan expecting good

0

AP Congress president Y S Sharmila said that she did not meet her brother and AP Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy expecting anything good from him. She said that her mother, Vijayamma, is a witness to her meeting with Jagan Mohan Reddy. She further said that she had met him only once in the past and second time to invite him to her son’s engagement.

Speaking to the media during the Republic Day celebrations at the party office – Andhra Rathna Bhavan – here, Sharmila said that she was not expecting anything from her brother. She wanted him to work for the welfare and uplift of the people as the chief minister.

She said that she is Y S Sharmila and is daughter of Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy. She would be called Y S Sharmila and not anything else. She said that her father, Dr Rajasekhar Reddy had named her son as Raja Reddy and that would remain a link with the family.

Referring to the state government, Sharmila said that people who kill Dalits are welcomed into the YSR Congress. They are moving close to the powers that be, she said. He blamed the government for neglecting the welfare and development of the Dalits. She said that Ambedkarism is not about putting up Ambedkar statues but implementing what Dr Ambedkar had said.

She also alleged that the government was diverting the SC, ST funds to the ruling party leaders. The ruling party leaders were making money while the Dalits were starving. She wanted the government to give funds to the Dalits and weaker sections and restore all the schemes meant for them.

She also said that the YSR Congress was not treating the weaker sections equally. She wanted the people to teach a fitting lesson to the YSR Congress in the coming elections. She also appealed to the people to vote against the YSR Congress and ensure that the Congress is restored to power in the state.

The APCC president said that only Congress would develop the state and work for the development of every section of the society. She also maintained that only Congress has the national vision to develop the state and its people. The regional parties would only enjoy power and do not work for the people, she said.

Jagan launches 300 4G mobile towers in tribal areas

0

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy launched 300 4G mobile cell towers in remote tribal areas of Alluri Seetharama Raju and Parvatipuram Manyam districts, taking the number of towers in remote areas across the State to 400.

Launching the towers virtually from his camp office at Tadepalli on Thursday, the Chief Minister said these towers will provide communication facilities in remote areas where there is no connectivity so far.

Out of the 300 new towers, 246 were established in Alluri Seetharama Raju district while the rest were erected in Parvatipuram Manyam (44), Prakasam (4), Eluru (3), Srikakulam (2) and Kakinada (1) districts. AirTel and Reliance Jio established 136 and 164 towers respectively.

Nearly two lakh people belonging to 944 habitations will get communication facilities with the new towers, he said, adding that 42,000 people benefited from the 100 towers established earlier. These towers were established with an expenditure of Rs 400 crore.

The government has been establishing these mobile towers aiming at extending welfare benefits in full transparency to the people living in remote areas, he said, adding that efforts to establish 2400 more mobile towers are being expedited.

The government plans to extend communication facilities to people living in 5,459 remote habitations by establishing 2900 mobile towers, he said, adding that the Government has convinced the Centre to be part of the Rs. 3119crore plan for which lands were already handed over to build 2900 towers.

The Chief Minister said that the Government aims at completing the construction of all the towers in the next one year and connectivity would help the people gain TV and mobile connections besides registering for the welfare schemes online.

The idea of extending mobile connectivity to remote areas is also part of the revolutionary changes being introduced to transform the rural landscape with village secretariats, village clinics, RBKs and English medium schools. Some tribals participated in the programme and thanked the Chief Minister for extending the 4G network in their areas.

Chittemma of Paderu Mandalam in ASR district said that she used to trek to the top of the hill to make calls in the past and people would be relieved of the ordeal now. Chalapati Rao of Parvatipuram Manyam district said people of his hamlet used to walk for five kilometres to make phone call and now it would be easier for them to make phone calls and know about the latest developments and Government schemes.

Amaravati farmers pledge to defeat Jagan

0

The farmers of Amaravati capital villages have pledged to defeat YSR Congress and its chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy in the coming general elections. They said that they would make an appeal to the farmers across the state to vote against the YSR Congress in the general election.

The farmers in Amaravati villages held a protest meeting at Mandadam village on Thursday marking 1500th day of their protest. They said that they have been holding protests for the past 1500 days and their hard work would pay dividends.

The farmers wanted every family of the farmers in the state to vote against this government. They wanted the women in the farmers’ families to think twice before voting for the YSR Congress. They requested the farmers’ families to see the difficulties that they have been facing for the past four years.

This government will go in the next three months and a new government will come, the farmers said. They further said that the new government would develop Amaravati as the only capital of the state.

They blamed the chief minister for neglecting Amaravati development which was proposed by the previous government as the only capital of the state. The farmers have sacrificed their lands by giving them to the government in the land pooling system. The farmers have not taken money from the government as compensation for their lands, they said.

The farmers said that their multi-crop lands were given to the government thinking that it would develop the area as the capital of the state. The previous government had proposed nine cities in the capital and that would have changed their lives, the farmers said.

The farmers, however, said that the present government had brought a new plan to have three capitals for the state. The farmers are opposed to the three capitals, they said and added that even the political parties, except the YSR Congress, were also opposed to the three capitals plan.

They blamed the YSR Congress government for completely ignoring the Amaravati plan. The present government would be washed away in the tears of the farmers, they said. They also appealed to the agriculture labourers in the state to vote against the YSR Congress and ensure that Amaravati is developed as the only capital of the state.

TDP demands CBI probe into Jagan’s diamond watch offer to HC judge

0

TDP politburo member, Varla Ramaiah, on Wednesday demanded a CBI investigation into the offer made by Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, of a diamond watch to a High Court judge.

The CBI investigation should be ordered into how Executive Officer (EO) of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), Dharma Reddy, and YSRCP MP, Vemreddi Prabhaker Reddy, Ramaiah said addressing the media. “Jagan has made an attempt to entice the High Court judge through these two leaders to safely come out of his cases,” the TDP politburo member stated.

Demanding Jagan’s reply to the people on this matter, Ramaiah felt that Jagan is following the path of Karnataka leader and mining expert, Gali Janardhan Reddy. He termed TTD EO, Dharma Reddy, as a king of lobbying and a crown of influencing the persons.

Observing that Jagan is an accused in several cases, he will be sentenced for life if the fate is not in his favor and if the inquiry is done properly. To safely come out of these cases, he approached all those available and prayed to all the Gods, Ramaiah remarked. As part of this exercise, he offered through Dharma Reddy and Prabhakar Reddy the diamond watch to the High Court judge during the Carona time in 2021, he said.

Should such a lobbyist like Dharma Reddy head the world most famous temple, the TTD, Ramaiah asked and said that even there are allegations against him that he had managed the military hospital in the case of YSRCP rebel MP, Raghu Ramakrishnam Raju. While he was working in New Delhi cases under 14 separate Sections have been registered against him, the TDP politburo member said and also asked whether the personal assistant of Dharma Reddy did not commit suicide.

Making it clear that this kind of activities will no longer be allowed, Ramaiah said that both who accept and offer bribes are eligible for severe punishment. Demanding that both Dharma Reddy and Prabhakar Reddy be arrested after registering cases, he said the Rs 2 cr is shown in whose account and a CBI probe should be ordered into the whole episode.

Congress splits families for politics, says Jagan

0

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday alleged that the Congress had split his family for political gains. Speaking at Tirupati on the day, Jagan Mohan Reddy said that splitting families has become a habit for the Congress.

He said that the party had split his family earlier by making his uncle Vivekananda Reddy a minister in the state cabinet. The party also made Vivekananda Reddy to contest against the family members, he said. The party had now split his family and appointed Y S Sharmila, his sister, as the AP Congress president. The party was now trying to get political benefit out of this split, he said.

He said that the YSR Congress would come back to power in the state in the forthcoming general elections. People who have been receiving the financial benefits from his government for the past five years would vote for his party in the coming election.

He said that his government had improved health, education and administration in the state and made life easy for the people. The reforms in health and education sectors have benefited a lot for the people, he asserted. He also asserted that the reforms in administration in the name of village and ward secretariats have helped the people to get things done from the government.

He said that his critics were finding fault with him for introducing English medium in the government schools. He wanted to know what medium that the children and grandchildren of his critics were studying. “Are they not studying English medium,” Jagan Mohan Reddy asked.

He said that the opposition parties have said that the state had become worse than Sri Lanka with the cash benefit transfer programmes of the state government. Now they are not speaking about Sri Lank and the state economy. On the other hand, the opposition parties were making more promises of more welfare schemes, he said.

People are my star campaigners, says Jagan

0

Describing the beneficiaries of welfare schemes as his star campaigners, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy asked them to cast their vote for YSRCP in the ensuing elections to ensure the continuity of slew of DBT and non-DBT welfare schemes in future.

Addressing a public meeting at Uravakonda in Anantapur district Tuesday, the Chief Minister cautioned people that a vote for the opposition will result in losing welfare schemes. “Your vote for YSRCP is not just a vote for Jagan as Chief Minister. You have to remember that the slew of welfare schemes will continue only if Jagan continues as Chief Minister. So, exercise your franchise judiciously,” he called upon the people.

Taking a dig at the State Congress Chief YS Sharmila, he said that some leaders have joined the Congress which had bifurcated the State illogically and done injustice to the residual Andhra Pradesh.

Naidu has several star campaigners including his sister-in-law, his coverts in BJP, foster son Pawan Kalyan and the pseudo-intellectuals who conduct debates in TV channels, he said, adding that all of them are coming together to give him fresh lease of political life even though he didn’t implement a single welfare scheme during his rule, he said.

“These star campaigners are no match for my star campaigners who are beneficiaries of various welfare schemes,” he said. Chandrababu’s campaigners, who are residents of the neighboring state, are out to support the blatant lies and Government-denigrating propaganda unleashed by the TDP friendly media on a daily basis, he fumed.

“I may not have foster sons and friendly media. They may think that YSRCP has no star campaigners. But as beneficiaries of a slew of welfare schemes, you are my star campaigners,” he told the crowd amid cheers, and asked them to teach a fitting lesson to the opposition in the ensuing elections.

Though the budget during the TDP rule was the same as of now, it failed to implement even a single welfare scheme for the poor as Naidu pursued the policy of plunder, stash and devour, he said.

With the Government implementing YSR Aasara, YSR Cheyuta and Sunna Vaddi (zero percent interest) and other schemes, 91 per cent of the C and D grade self-help groups in TDP rule have now transformed into A and B grades while their NPA (Non-Performing Asset) value has come down to 0.17 per cent from 18.36 per cent.

He further said that a whopping Rs. 2, 50 lakh crore was spent on DBT welfare schemes for the uplift of weaker sections of society.

“While Naidu neglected women’s safety and empowerment, we have made an Act to allot 50 per cent of the nominated posts and contracts to women while posting women constables in village secretariats. We have also given utmost priority for the safety and security of women launching Disha App which was downloaded by more than 1.46 crore women,” the Chief Minister stated, adding that the Government focused on women empowerment unlike any other state.

The Chief Minister said that he is only depending on people and God and the people have to take upon the responsibility of defeating the TDP and its allies in the elections.

Ambedkar statue, manifestation of social justice, says Jagan

0

Hailing Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar as a great visionary leader who dedicated his entire life for the uplift of weaker sections in multiple ways, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said the 206-foot bronze sculpture installed in the historical Swaraj Maidan here as the Statue of Social Justice and perfect manifestation of Grama Swaraj ushered in by the Government in the last 55 months.

Addressing a mammoth Samajika Samatha Sankalpa Sabha at IG Stadium here on Friday before unveiling the statue, the Chief Minister said that what the Statue of Liberty is to America is the Statue of Social Justice to India.

He said Government has ushered in social justice and Grama Swaraj by implementing plethora of welfare schemes in full transparency for the uplift of SC, ST, BC , minority and other economically backward communities fighting against various odds. Feudalistic forces and their supporters led by TDP have transformed the shape and colour of untouchability by opposing distribution of house sites to the poor and creating obstacles through court cases, he said, adding that the opposition party never cared for the welfare of the oppressed classes.
Following the feudalistic and dominant ideology, the TDP practised a different form of untouchability by opposing English medium education to the poor, their economic development and digitalisation of class rooms and Chandrababu Naidu-led party had degraded the Government schools and grabbed assigned lands when it was in power.

Even after 133 years of his birth and 66 years of death, Dr. Ambedkar’s ideals and philosophy continue to be relevant and inspire us as we are experiencing untouchability in different forms despite 77 years of independence, he said, stating that Ambedkar stands as a symbol of inspiration that changed the country’s social, economic, and political and gender spheres.

“Ambedkar fought against feudal forces and the oppression of weaker sections while working for the women’s liberation, people’s fundamental rights, constitutional rights and dignity of weaker sections,” the Chief Minister said, asserting that the Government has been implementing various welfare schemes inheriting the true spirit of Dr Ambedkar.

The inauguration of the giant Ambedkar statue marks the social awakening and his towering personality provides us inspiration to safeguard our fundamental rights and dignity, he observed, adding that the statue of social justice will compete with the world and not just with the country.

While the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu-led feudal forces and political parties opposed the economic development of the weaker sections, Government in the last 55 months has ushered in social justice giving four Deputy Chief Minister posts to SC, ST, BC and minorities and allotting 50 per cent of the nominated posts and contracts for them through a special law, the Chief Minister said.

“Not only that, 66 per cent of the cabinet berths have been given to the SC, ST, BC and minorities they also hold the posts of Assembly Speaker, Legislative Council Chairman, nine ZP Chairman posts, 58 Municipal Chairman, 79 Corporation Chairmen, four Rajya Sabha memberships and 117 Market Committee Chairman posts,” he said. Government has also created 2, 10,000 government posts in the last 55 months out of which 80 per cent of them are from the SC, ST, BC and minority communities.

From Kuppam to Ichhapuram, the revolutionary changes are tangible in RBKs, village clinics, family doctors, digital libraries, village and ward secretariats and the volunteer system, he said, adding that Government has so far spent Rs.2,47,000 crore on various DBT schemes empowering the weaker sections, especially women.

Jagan’s credibility is a big farce, says Naidu

0

The political atmosphere in the State is fast changing and the countdown has begun for this Government, said TDP president and former chief minister, Nara Chandrababu Naidu, on Friday.

Venkatagiri is roaring for the ‘Raa Kadalira’ being organised on Friday, Chandrababu Naidu said addressing a massive public gathering as part of this ongoing programme. Maintaining that the credibility of Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, is a big farce, the TDP supremo stated that the time of this Tughlaq, who has run the State in reverse gear, is done.

Except Venkatagiri, which was once in Nellore district, is now brought under Tirupati, but the fate of the people did not change as there is no development in the area in the past five years, he remarked. Maintaining that the ‘Raa Kadalira’ programme has been taken up to chase out the destructive rule, Chandrababu Naidu said that while Sisupala had committed 100 mistakes, this Tughlaq had committed 1,000 blunders.

“We all have witnessed what has happened to former minister, Anam Ramnarayan Reddy, as he has pointed out the faults in the YSRCP ruling. He did not ask for any post but only wanted certain measures for the welfare of the people. Jagan is such an egoist that he did not care even for such senior leaders,” Chandrababu stated.

The people are in a position to no longer tolerate this Tughlaq rule and the countdown has begun for him as only 82 days more are left for this Government, the former chief minister noted. Did even a single section feel happy in this Government, he asked and expressed serious concern that the poor has now turned the poorest without even two square meals a day.

Chandrababu, in a sarcastic manner, said that the employees are now not asking for the revision of their salaries but only payment of their monthly salaries ontime, on 1st of every month. They now feel insecure that if they demand for revision of salaries they may even be sent to jail, he remarked.

Observing that the TDP regime has transformed Tirupati as an electronic hub while noted companies like Hero Motors and Apollo Tyres have set up their units in Sri City providing employment to the local youth, Chandrababu regretted that all these companies have now downed their shutters. “While we have promoted Tirupati as a temple city, Jagan has promoted it as a ganja centre and encouraged bogus votes,” he said.

“If you feel that the youth will get jobs only if Babu is back in power you all should work together to bring the TDP-Jana Sena combine to power in the upcoming polls,” Chandrababu told the gathering. Red sandal has become a major source of income for the YSRCP leaders now while the TDP regime suppressed the smugglers of red sandal, he said. This Government is welcoming with red carpet for the red sandal smugglers, he said.

Chandrababu made it clear that those bureaucrats who resort to enrolling bogus votes will certainly face the music. Over 1.15 lakh bogus votes have been enrolled in the Chandragiri Assembly segment, he said and stated that the local officials are queuing up before the house of senior leader, Panabaka Lakshmi, to withdraw the court case. There is no question of taking back the case and the TDP will take the responsibility to send the persons responsible for this will be brought before the court, the TDP supremo stated

The contractors are now blacklisting the Government, he said and pointed out that 43 contractors have committed suicide as their bills are not cleared till now. Even a sarpanch belonging to the ruling YSRCP too resorted to suicide as his pending bills are not cleared, he added. In the name of reverse tendering, Jagan has run the State into reverse gear, he remarked.

What happened to the Special Category Status and which is the capital for the State, Chandrababu asked. Though Jagan had promised to reduce the power charges before the 2019 elections, has in fact revised the power tariff nine times, he said.

“I will personally take the responsibility to eliminate poverty and a society without poverty will be formed. My vision is a golden era while Jagan’s idea is to build a stone era. All sections of the people should be happy only if the TDP is back in power and we are winning all the seven Assembly segments in Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency,” Chandrababu Naidu said.
