Technology is not just about convenience. It is a powerful tool for transparent and fast governance, said Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Monday. He made these remarks during a high level review meeting of the Real Time Governance Society at the camp office, where he outlined a clear roadmap for the state’s administrative future.
Chandrababu Naidu announced that 2026 will be observed as the year of technology-driven decision-making. He said the government aims to place public services directly in the hands of citizens by using artificial intelligence and data analytics. Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to expand the role of AI across departments to ensure faster and more accurate delivery of services.
He explained that grievances from citizens can be resolved swiftly without human intervention by effectively using AI based systems. He also stressed the need to retrain employees who are lagging in performance and continuously monitor them so that they adapt to modern technology driven governance.
The Chief Minister underlined that governance should move beyond file processing and focus on data based decisions. He reviewed the functioning of key departments including health, agriculture, revenue, roads, transport, and fire services. He instructed officials to ensure seamless data sharing between departments and use the Data Lake system to identify gaps and correct them in real time.
Officials briefed the Chief Minister on the success of WhatsApp Governance under the Mana Mitra initiative. So far, 1.43 crore citizens have accessed government services through WhatsApp. At present, 878 services are available on the platform, ranging from income and caste certificates to municipal tax payments.
Chandrababu Naidu set a clear target that by 2026, citizens should not need to visit government offices for basic services. He reiterated that Andhra Pradesh is moving steadily towards a future where governance is faster, smarter, and fully citizen centric.
