Former anchor and emcee LoBo alias Mohammed Khayyum became widely popular among Telugu audiences during the 2010s due to his peculiar dressing style and maverick mannerisms as a TV host for several shows. His music show in Star MAA was a huge hit in those days. LoBo even bagged movie offers and acted in over 100 films. He later appeared in Telugu reality show Big Boss season 5 and became famous among the current generation viewers. He is a close relative of comedian Ali.
Reportedly, LoBo has been convicted by Janagam District Court in a road accident case and has been jailed for one year for causing death of two persons and injuring several others with his rash driving. The case dates back to 2018 when LoBo and his team travelled to Warangal for shooting a video for a TV channel. On way return to Hyderabad, the vehicle in which LoBo was travelling rammed into an auto coming from the opposite direction at Raghunadhpalli. LoBo was driving the vehicle and the team sustained serious injuries. Two passengers in the auto died on the spot due to the impact and some others were injured.
A case of rash driving was registered by Raghunadhpalli police at that time. After seven years of trial, the Janagam District Court has now found LoBo guilty of the offences and pronounced judgement. Besides ordering one year sentence in jail, the Court fined 12,500 rupees.
