All eyes were focused on Coolie and War 2. Both these films released during the Independence Day weekend and are high on expectations. After getting a record release, both War 2 and Coolie failed to live up to the expectations. Coolie showed pure domination through the openings all over. War 2 has been declared as a disaster. War 2 failed to open on a strong note but the film gained strength on August 15th and posted big numbers. But the film has seen a huge decline on Saturday and the Sunday numbers are disastrous. War 2 is a huge disaster and will leave huge losses for everyone involved.

Coolie opened on a strong note and it had a great Friday all over. The film also performed well on Saturday but the Sunday numbers are not encouraging. The decline in Sunday numbers hint that the film will struggle to survive over the weekdays. The film made big money in Tamil Nadu and overseas. On the whole, both the biggies that released during the Independence Day weekend failed to live up to the expectations and are disappointments.
