Yes, Naidu is outdated : JC endorses Jagan’s remark

0

Maverick TDP MP JC Diwakar Reddy again created flutter in the lobbies of Assembly today by endorsing YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s remark that Naidu was outdated politician. Participating in the debate on the special category status in Assembly today Jagan said he was contemporaneous while CM was outdated.
When referred to Jagan’s comment, he said Jagan was right.

” See, Naidu is not as angry as Jagan is. He is cool. He is outdated,” JC said adding that Jagan become ‘latest’ because he was too angry. Of course, there is an element of sarcasm. later switching over to the subject of special status, “The special status is un-achievable,” he said, at a time when Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution urging centre to bestow special status on AP. The Anantapur MP was unambiguously said centre had ruled out the special status to any state leave alone AP.

Referring to the demand of CM’s resignation, Diwakar Reddy said,”even if the Andhra Pradesh chief minister resigns as CM or withdraws support to the BJP led NDA government, AP would not get special category state status.” If Jagan assures that he would get the special status with resignations, he said, along with 10 more MPs he would resign the very next moment. Diwakar Reddy, however, said he was hopeful of getting a better package than what was given to Bihar.

‘Homework’ creates problem in House

0

An interesting, but heated debate took place on “homework” in Assembly today.

Participating in the debate on chief minister Chandrababu Naidu’ statement on the special category status to Andhra Pradesh, opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy said he belonged to present generation while Chandrababu Naidu to the previous one, whose members were poor in knowledge.

“What I want to tell is why it is necessary to have a special status. We are in a situation where even the CM doesn’t have any understanding of the special status,” he said to cheers from his side and jeers from the treasury benches. ” Yes, ” he said adding that ” Chandrababu Naidu belongs to past generation. We belong to this generation. There are many things which Naidu doesn’t know and we know. We do home- work and he has neither patience nor time to do homework,” Jagan said provoking legislative affairs minister Yanamala Ramakrishndu.

“Jagan might be doing homework on the cases he was facing in courts,” Yanamala said.

Retorting, Jagan said Naidu also must be doing homework, but it could be on bailing himself out of cash-for-vote scam. To prove that he had done homework, Jagan showed to the house a bunch of paper, which, he said had been provided by the research section of Parliament on the benefits of special category status.

These comments plunged the house into disorder and the sub-plot cash-for -vote had become the main issue in the House.

Assembly adjourned on second day as well

0

The second day of the monsoon session of Andhra Pradesh witnessed same hostile stance from the opposition YSRCP. The party today demanded the suspension of question hour to take up the special status debate forthwith. YSRCP members rushed into the well started raising slogans and displayed placards of their demand. Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao tried to persuade the opposition members of the importance of question hour. ” Question hour is important for many other members. Yesterday some members expressed their displeasure as they could not get their questions answered. Let us take up the issues after the question hour,” speaker said.

The opposition insisted on the suspension of question hour. “Yesterday, chief minister started making his statement at 1.30 PM and closed at 2pm. It was incomplete. So, today the statement should be taken up suspending question hour.” Jagan said.

Assembly affairs minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu also requested Opposition leader not to insist on the suspension of question hour. He rebuked YSRCP for demanding the suspension of question hour without even giving a notice. “You get only 2 questions as per hour the strength. If you don’t want the question hour you can go out and come back at the time of CM’s statement. You cannot dictate the house to take up the matter you like,” he said.

Jagan said what CM talked in the house and what furnished in the statement were not same. “Government did not mention the proposal to adopt a resolution. Speaker, however, defended the government stating that government was in no obligatin to reveal its program of action. In the morning, Immediately after the house assembled for the day, YSRCP MLA G Srikanth Reddy said the statement made by the chief minister on the floor of the house referred fight for special status. The statement was confusing as to the type of fight, he said. “How could the TDP fight by being part of NDA and allowing TDP ministers in the Modi cabinet?” he asked.

As the house was out of order with slogans being raised by opposition members in the well of the House speaker adjourned the house for 10 minutes.

“It’s worse than Kaurava Sabha”

0

YSRC president and Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy deplored that today’s Assembly looked worse than the Kaurava Sabha. ” I have not seen the Kaurava Sabha. But, today’s Assembly appears worse that the Kaurava Sabha,” he said.

Referring to the special status statement the chief minister Chandrababu Naidu made onthe floor of the House, Jagan said he was ready to resign from the House if anybody tells what Naidu talked looked like a statement.

He said today he exposed a political conspiracy in the Assembly.

” There was an attempt to ensure that only one version that is the version of chief minister alone goes out. My microphone connection had been cut several times. And chair allows only the CM to speak on the condolence motion. The chief minister speaks for 20 minutes and chair doesn’t give chance to opposition leader to speak,” Jagan said.

He dared the chief minister to reveal his stand on special status.” People want to know if the Chandrababu Naidu is for special status or not,” Jagan asked.

YSRC adjournment motion disallowed

0

speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao disallowed the adjournment motion submitted by YSRCP on issue of special category status to Andhra Pradesh. The party wanted suspension of all the business and take up the issue and pass a resolution demanding the centre to bestow special status on AP.

The YSRC members trouped into the well and surrounded the Speaker’s podium demanding taking up of the motion. They raised slogans, displayed placards. Disallowing the motion, the speaker said the government was ready to make a statement on the issue and it would be followed by a discussion and a resolution also. “The adjournment motion has been disallowed. Your are not supposed to raise the demand again in the house and stall the proceedings. Mr Jagan, please ask your members to take their seats,” speaker said adding that a government statement was very much on the agenda.

Legislative affairs minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu appealed to the Opposition benches to cooperate with the government as it was ready to take up the matter as per agenda, agreed upon in the business advisory committee this morning. Jagan said the statement was a ploy to avoid the debate. “Why is the house taking up question hour after 12 instead of taking up the adjournment motion?” Jagan asked stating the statement of chief minister was only a ploy to avoid the debate.

Is Jagan slipping into bad politics again?

0

1

Politics is all about power and the state power is meant to acquire ownership over the state assets. The welfare of the people is only a byproduct of competitive politics. Once you acquire ownership through political power, you can do whatever you desire. You can sell off the government and farmers’ lands, mortgage or transfer them to corporates, you can buy luxury buses and cars for your tours, you can renovate camp office and office with hundreds of crore, you can even rebuild them in the name of vastu, you can demolish buildings, get new ones constructed… all with peoples’ money. It’s this ownership that engenders the fiercest battles in politics.
Anybody(no need to cite names)who is in politics plays the game only to win the ownership of the vast estate called state.

2

Politicians, however, should not be too obsessed with this motive to gain power. This is bad politics and It would jeopardize the basic objective. Jagan’s political career is marred by bad politics from the very beginning itself. He earned notoriety as a son who tried to sit on thrown through a signature coup even before the funeral rites completed to his dead father. How far it is true, whether Jagan is directly involved in it or not, or some J-zealots did all this is immaterial now . But it had become a major sources of embarrassment for Jagan. It is difficult to erase this episode from the memories of the people.

Everybody was under the impression that Jagan was a man in a hurry and he himself spoiled his chances of becoming chief minister. All his hard labor, Odarpu Yatras, fierce speeches, YSR good will and even the belated-stubborn stand he took against the partition of the state could not save him from the ignominy of the defeat in 2014. Reason, the bad politics he practiced. He was too obsessive with the post of chief minister. Ask anybody in state, pat comes the reply, “had he been a bit patient, he would have become the chief minister in 2014.”

3

The dharna, he organized near CRDA office in Vijayawada on Wednesday, was clearly an indication to the replaying of the old tragicomedy. The program was meant to organize farmers against the forcible and undemocratic way of acquisition of fertile lands by the government to build a ‘world-class’ capital. It was definitely not the time to talk about becoming chief minister. He should have resisted the urge to tell the people that no force on earth could stop him from becoming chief minister. He should have confined himself to the issues of capital and politics of TDP.

He clearly and unwittingly announced to the whole world that he was organizing these struggle to become chief minister. He also forecast the political fall of chief minister Chandrababu Naidu. His obsession with the post of chief minister was so strong that he got slipped into a delirium of one-upmanship which has not gone down well with those who were observing him from afar. It was clear that what was happening there at the dharna was not the fight for justice, but a fight to settle scores with Chandrababu Naidu.

“Since Chandrababu Naidu is determined to build the capital, It should be opposed with equal determination as an opposition leader” was what his speech conveyed to the people across the state. It appeared as if he was organizing dharna with a sole motive of becoming chief minister rather than coming to the aide of the farmers, who are set to lose multi-crop and uniquely fertile lands. Till then, the TDP, which had been on the defensive on capital lands issue, grabbed the opportunity to launch an aggressive attack on him for this “would be chief minister” remark. Not only the ministers, even the intellectuals at the Special Status Sadhana Samiti had to appeal the political parties not attempt to settle scores using problems of the people.

4

This too much obsession with the post of chief minister, when the elections are too far away, has the potential to derail his agitational politics. It may earn him tons of cheers from his cheerleaders and those affected farmers, but it would hardly please others who are outside the pen of YSRCP.

Jagan: The fast and furious leader of AP

0

YSR Congress party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy is a radically changed man these days, at least in public. He is the youngest man leading a political party in India. He is the most politically controversial leader and also most politically persecuted man. He is the only party president in the country to have got his assets attached by ED. Arguably, India’s richest party boss and the only party president to go to jail in cases related to the disproportionate assets. Jagan’s too short a political career is marked by too many first rank controversies.

His was the only party which scored highest marks in the surveys before elections. All these feature have made Jaganmohan Reddy most curious personality of Indian politics before 2014. His defeat was one of the most talked about subject among the political analysts.

These unwholesome ‘firsts’ have not eroded his confidence in future. Jagan, though lost in elections,
has not gone on vacation to regain strength like Rahul Gandhi. The defeat and insults, instead of weighing him down, appears to have strengthened his resolve to emerge unscathed from the cases.

Even though he is the president of the party, embarrassingly he is surrounded by senior leaders, some are even veterans. To stand out among these leaders, he has to do works which these leaders can not even think of. Jagan certainly has chosen an arduous journey of agitations, tours and fasts. I don’t want to attribute this to his family’s factional history. Present restive Jagan is totally a product of the politics he has been perusing.

He transformed himself into an angry young man, rather, these circumstances have made him into perpetual fighter. See, how many times he organized dharnas. How tirelessly he has bee on tour. He sat on indefinite fast once in Hyderabad. He staged two fasts in New Delhi and observed two-day fast in support of farmers, who were fighting land pooling by the government. He undertook a two-day samara deeksha in Magalagiri. He sat on two-day rythu deeksha in Tanuku.

Now, he is going to stage a dharna in front of krishna collectorate in Machilipatnam on August 25, protesting government’s apathy with regard to Kothamajeru viral fever victims. Similarly, next day on August 26, he is scheduled sit on a fast in against the forcible acquisition of fertile lands in river front villages in Amaravati capital development region.

Political storm clouds hover over Vijayawada

0

In the next few days Vijayawada, the temporary seat of government of Chandrababu Naidu, is all set to be encircled by intense political storm.

While Janasena president and movie star Pawan is going make a whirlwind tour of river front villages, YSR Congress has announced its program of agitation against the invocation land acquisition act to acquire the multi-crop lands in Amaravati capital region.

Pawan is said to have cancelled his movie shooting to visit these villages. His proposed visit has already unsettled the ruling Telugu Desam party. As per some sources in TDP, a meeting is likely between chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan. A team of ministers are planning to meet Pawan to make him understand good intention of government in acquiring the lands for world-class capital.

Any climb down by Pawan after these meetings would erode his image as a power star among the people Andhra Pradesh. Sitting unseen Pawan has raised temperature in the region by tweeting support to the people and urging the government to spare these ‘green-mines’ on the banks of River Krishna. Pawan opposed desctruction of the multi-crop lands in the name of capital construction.

For the past three four days farmers have been organizing dharnas in front of capital region development authority (CRDA) office. Today YSR Congress organized protest in front of CRDA office in Tullur. The party announced their program and it would culminate in party president Jagan’s diksha near the CRDA office in Vijayawada on August 26.

Before that the party would organize Rastha rokho on Prakasam barrage on August 23, and on 24 , YSRC leaders stage a protest dharna near CRDA office, Nidamarru followed by a public meeting. And on August 25, the party is going to organize a bandh in support to agitating farmers in Nidamarru, Betapudi, Penumaka and Tadepalli mandals.

As all opposition parties have undeclared solidarity among themselves versus TDP government all other parties are expected joint the programs and make it a success.

Jolt to Jagan in Nellore district ?

0

Who said municipal minister P Narayana is only an education-businessman and not a politician? The businessman is acquiring political color. He is planning to gain control of the politics in the district from politicians proper. To prove his manipulative skills, Narayana is all set to bring Nallureddy Prasannakumar Reddy back to Telugu Desam Party and present him as a trophy of his triumph in politics to his boss Chandrababu Naidu.

And, of course, also to rein-in Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy. The rise of Narayana in Nellore district stopped Somireddy in his tracks. Somireddy, though a powerful spokesperson of the party, could not get MLC nomination last month. This is the talk in political circles.

Prasannakumar Reddy has sent enough signals to YS Jaganmohan Reddy that can’t continue in the YSRCP for “personal” reasons. First he expressed his inability to meet the expenditure of running the Nellore district party office. His complaint is that head office (read as Jagan) is not sharing the burden of office expenditure. Later he said he had resigned from the post of district president of the party. Later, at the intervention of YS Jaganmohan Reddy he agreed to continue as the president. Exactly one month later, Yesterday, in a press conference in Kota, he reiterated that he had resigned from the post of district party president. He also said this was final. He, however, clarified that he would continue to sail with Jagan.

Who believes it? This is typical of whispers politicians produce before they plan to leave a party. The talk in the YSR Congress is that he is a gone case. His followers say Prasannakumar Reddy is not getting due importance in the party, even MP Mekapati is also ignoring him. But, others are of the opinion that Reddy sees no future for YSRCP in the district, so wants to take a decision about his future much in advance.

Prasannakumar Reddy was originally a TDP MLA. He got elected to Assembly in 2009 as TDP candidate and later switched to Congress under the spell of YSR and then to YSRC aftre YSR death. He resigned from the Assembly and won the subsequent byelection in March 2012 as YSRCP candidate. In 2014 he lost to TDP again. As he is out power and has to bear the expenditure of party activities, he is thinking of coming back to TDP which is in power. In the next three and half year, he could get enough strength to face the 2019 election with the support of ruling party and ministers like Narayana.

Jagan arrested and released

0

The Delhi police stopped Jaganmohan Reddy’s march towards Parliament after the dharna at Jantar Mantar in the afternoon today. Police took him into preventive custody as the march was expected to obstruct traffic in the key Jantar Mantar Road.

Jagan started his march to Parliament House with thousands of party worker after the dharna to demand special category status for Andhra Pradesh raising slogans against BJP regime at centre.

Police raid on the march created some confusion  and in the melee some leader have reportedly received minor injuries.

Jagan, without resisting the arrest, followed the police into the vehicle he was shifted to Parliament Road police station near Jantar Mantar.

Jagan’s followers staged a protest outside police station against the arrest and demanded the release of their leader.

However, the YSRC chief was released from  police station after sometime.

Emerging from the police station, Jagan took objection to police highhandedness. He said many MLAs and MPs had been injured in the police raid.

He said he courted arrest sensing some trouble from the police and  any defiance would lead to lathi charge.

Jagan’s open letter to speaker and CM

0

Opposition leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy took strong objection to the constitution of general purposes committee (GPC)and  convening the  meeting on August 11, at a time when the entire opposition party would be away in New Delhi for  a dharna.

In a six-page letter written to Assembly speaker Kodela Siva Prasadrao and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu he deplored that they were violating conventions of the Assembly in setting up committees.

Questioning the motive of the formation of the committee, which was long forgotten, Jagan said the committee was fully loaded with members of ruling party and principle of  proportionate representation was conveniently ignored.

He said the agenda of the meeting also was not conveyed to the opposition party.

The general purposes committee normally advises on the affairs of the House.

The present committee has 25 members including the speaker. What is surprising  that out of 24 members  21 are from ruling party and remaining three are from the YSRC.  Jagan questioned the logic behind the disproportion of the members from the ruling and opposition parties.

The YSRC president alleged that the speaker office refused to inform his MLA of the agenda of the meeting when approached.

He suspected that the meeting  was being convened only to justify and get ratification for the removal of YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s portrait from the Assembly Hall with brute majority.

Jagan listed out 19 points the party going to raise in the next session of Assembly.

The list of issues include Cash-for-vote scam, causes for the stampede during Pushkaralu in Rajahmundry,  TDP MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar’s attack on MRO Vanajakshi, Rishiteswari suicide and the government’s attempt to shield culprits, scam in the Pattiseema lift irrigation project, modification of barytes mining tenders, coal scam, business deals in the name of Capital construction through the controversial Swill Challenge method, Job for each family, unemployment allowance etc.

By convening GPC meeting, Jagan alleged, the government was planning to sabotage the raising of these issues in the next session of the Assembly.

The alleged that there was a clear motive to bypass the opposition party in calling the general purpose committee meeting on August 11, even though  YSRC dharna on August 10 in Jantar Manar, New Deli for special status  had been notified much in advance.

Jagan  demanded the speaker to scrap the committee which was not once convened when  TDP was in power between 1995-2004 or constitute the committee by giving proportionate representation to the parties in the House.

He advised speaker to fix the date of the meeting on a mutually convenient day and to keep the opposition posted with the agenda well in advance.

YSRC to mobilize two trainloads of people to Delhi Dharna

0

TDP Chandrababu Naidu’s weakness is YSRC Jaganmohan Reddy ‘s strength. Sensing that the TDP is not able to wage a battle for special category status, YSR Congress wants to exploit it to become  the champion of the cause and mobilize people around the issue. As the TDP cabinet could not take a stand on the union planning minister Inderjit Singh’s assertion that they had no plan to accord special category status to any state, Jagan has given a call to his party workers to make the August 10 New Delhi Dhrana a grand success.in. It accused the TDP of setting aside the demand for special status for considerations. As the field is left open for opposition party, YSRCP is mobilizing two trainloads of party workers to Delhi for its Dharna.

“Two special trains will leave on August 7 from Anakapalle and Tirupati covering all the districts to ferry Party leaders and cadre to participate in the dharna and the March to Parliament on August 10 ,” party leader Botsa Satyanarayana said Saturday.

He said it was very evident from the tone and conduct of TDP Government that it was trading the Special Status issue for other considerations and was mortgaging the interests of people in Delhi for personal and political gains.

Party MPs, MLAs, MLCs and district level leaders will join the dharna, he added.

Taking objection to the tall claims of Chandrababu Naidu on his influence in conferring highest civilian award to Abdul Kalam, Botsa asked why the same influence did not work in the case of  TDP founder leader NTR.

Jagan to stage dharna before parliament on Aug 10

0

YSR Congress will stage a dharna on August 10 at Jantar Mantar in Delhi to protest against the delay in according the Special category state status to Andhra Pradesh and to highlight the TDP Government’s indifference on the issue.

Party president and Opposition leader YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will lead the dharna  and a  march of party MPs, MLCs, MLAs, and other leaders, to the Parliament.

“Though our Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has time and again brought the issue to the notice of the concerned authorities in Delhi there was no response and the State Government has been silent on the issue for reasons not known. Hence we have decided to hold a dharna in Delhi on August 10,” party leaders Pilli Subashchandra Bose and Jyothula Nehru announced  on Thursday.

The special status issue was raised by BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, who wanted it to be extended to ten years and not five years, while the then Prime Minister Dr Man Mohan Singh has assured of special status. Our state can develop industrially and on other fronts only if the special status is accorded.

As the TDP government is not taking any initiative, we will pursue the matter by holding a dharna,” they said adding that perhaps Andhra Pradesh is the only State in the country which has no capital in its territory.

Earlier in the day, Jagan held a meeting with the party leaders and discussed the political developments in which the special status and the strategy for the ensuing assembly session were discussed, they said.

Jagan to join Rahul to defeat Land Bill

0

YS Jaganmohan Reddy led YSR Congress will join hands with  Congress party in opposing and defeating  the Land Acquisition Bill in parliament.

The Parliament monsoon session is commencing from July 21, and it is going to be crucial one for both BJP and Telugu Desam party. The YSRC parliamentary board has asked its members to vote against the Land bill in Parliament. This brings YSRC closer to the Congress which is campaigning for the defeat of the Land Bill-2015.

This is for the first time, Congress and YSR Congress, which TDP president Chandrababu Naidu used to call “mother Congress and child Congress”, coming closer.

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi has given a call to all opposition parties in  parliament to defeat the bill which is going to amend the existing land acquisition act brought about by UPA government.  All non-NDA parties are opposing the bill and are expected to join hands to defeat the bill. It is really testing time for Modi  led NDA government, whose numbers fall short of majority in Rajya Sabha.

Even though the Bill will have no problem in getting the nod of Lok Sabha, it is certain to pave the way for unity of opposition parties. On record, the YSR Congress has nine members in Lok Sabha, one is from Telangana and eight from Andhra Pradesh. Of the eight, MPs  SPY Reddy and Kothapalli Gita have switched sides and they may vote in favor of bill.

“We strongly oppose the Land Acquisition Bill which allows the acquisition of multi crop lands without incorporating the necessary buffers like social impact assessment and consent of the farmers,” Party MP and floor leader in Lok Sabha Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy told reporters after the Parliamentary Party meeting held under the chairmanship of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. YSRCPP met  to discuss the strategy to be adopted in the monsoon session beginning July 21. Many issues such as special status to Andhra Pradesh, high level probe into cash-for-vote scam, expediting the construction of Polavaram project, implementation of other provisions in the AP reorganization Act will ensure that YSRC and Congress are in the page during the session.

Threat to YSR Legacy in TS: Jagan’s Intriguing Silence

0

In Telangana, politics always makes strange bedfellows. The enemies forget their past and embrace, and the very next moment brandish the swords to cut throats. This is how politics flourished in the region and going to flourish in future as well. Otherwise, YSR Congress can’t be expected of maintaining deafening silence even though chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is destroying  the traces of YS Rajasekhar Reddy from the soil of Telangana.

A leader, who never fails to refer to the name of Maha Neta (this is how YS Jaganmohan Reddy addresses his father) has been silent in Telangana on the annihilation of YSR’s projects. Why is it that Jaganmohan Reddy, who wants to build his political empire on the legacy of his father, is winking at the acts of destruction of YSR legacy? Is it just because, he wants to take help of chief minister Chandrasekhar Rao, in weakening TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu. His silence lends credence to the talk that Jagan is in league with KCR.

As Jagan is silent, Congress is owning up YS Rajasekhar Reddy in the new state to derive political advantage.

1. Neither Jagan nor his sister Sharmila in her tour in Telangana last month asked if there was need to abandon the Pranahita-Chevella project,  which was the dream-project of YS Rajasekhar Reddy. YRS laid foundation for the project in 2008 and works have been taken up spending thousands of crores of taxpayers money.

It is the Congress which alleged that KCR was obliterating the YSR legacy.  They charged that  KCR had abandoned the project just because it had been initiated by Rajasekhar Reddy.

2. Entire Mahabubnagar district is up against KCR government for setting aside four irrigation projects, Nettempadu, Kalwakurthi, Koilsagar and Bhima in favor of a new project Palamuru-Raga Reddy lift irrigaton project. Congress sounded war bugle against ignoring the project which are in the final stages of completion. According to G Chinna Reddy (MLA Vanaparthi), DK Aruna (MLA, Gadwala), Bhatti Vikramaraka (TPCC working president) a meager allocation of Rs 500 cr – Rs 600 cr was enough to complete these projects.

“If completed, these projects would helpirrigate 8 lakh acres in the district,” Bhatti told Telugu360.com. A meeting of Congress leaders held  two days ago at DK Aruna’s residence had decided that Congress leaders visit these projects on July 24 and July 25 to study their status and place facts before the people, Bhatti said.

However, from the YSR Congress side, except the lone MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy(Khammam), no other leader reacted against  the abandonment of Pranahita-Chevella project in Telangana which people of Adilabad fear would deny water to their district. While the party president Jagan is not keen to  rub KCR on wrong side, as a party, YSRC also failed to take a view on the KCR’s decision. Jagan made a feeble voice only once against the taking up of Palamuru-Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Project some time back with out referring the four project ignored by TRS government.

Jagan’s inaction on the projects is being attributed to  the purported political understanding he has with KCR. Since Jagan sees little future for his party in Telangana, he seems to have settled for an undeclared alliance with KCR, who is hell bent on driving  away Naidu from Hyderabad.

Strangeness of these political games is that KCR and Naidu were friends in  2009 elections and the fell apart after the drubbing at elections. KCR hated YSR to the bone. As long as YSR was in power, KCR did not dare talk Telangana. Later , Jagan openly opposed Telangana. Now, KCR and Jagan  are not enemies, if not friends.

Judicial Inquiry Only to Save Naidu: Jagan

0

Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said the judicial  inquiry ordered by the State was only to cover up the failure and misdemeanor of Chandrababu Naidu for ignoring the VIP ghat and opting for the main ghat to offer Pushkar puja.

“The inquiry is only to save the skin of the Chief Minister and to come out unscathed by making some officials as scapegoats and it serves no purpose. It is obvious that the incident occurred as the devotees were bolted for over three hours and the single entry was opened after Naidu left the spot,” YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said in Kovvur, West Godavari district, on Wednesday.

Had Chandrababu Naidu honored the protocol and took the bath at the VIP ghat the mishap would have been averted he said adding that since  he had ignored it, he should be held responsible for the death of more than 30 persons who died in the stampede.

“When the gates were opened after testing the patience of the devotees for over three hours, the surge was fast and furious and in the melee stampede occurred which claimed over 30 lives. Only Chandrababu Naidu should be blamed for the tragedy,” he said.

Had it been someone else, the person would have been jailed by now. He is directly and indirectly responsible for the deaths, he said.

Naidu pumping Bad Money into Horse-trading

Opposition leader in Andhra Pradesh Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wondered how TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu clings to the post of chief minister despite his direct involvement in the cash-for-vote scam. Jagan worked more hard than any TRS leader to get Naidu implicated in the cash for vote scam as accused number 1 or 2. He rushed to New Delhi, met President Pranab Mukhejee and Home Miniser Rajnath Singh and submitted memoranda to this effect. He also demanded a high level inquiry by a central agency.

However, both parties in the cash-for-vote scam seems to be withdrawing slowly from the warpath. So, Jagan has chosen to tour Andhra Pradesh. The opposition leader is in Kakinada on Odarpu Yatra to console the families of those fishermen who died recently in cyclone. Jagan accused chief minister of spending the ill-gotten wealth for horse trading in Telangana State.

He said the fiver crore offer to a Telangana nominated MLA was stands testimony to the money politics Naidu was going to unleash in Andhra and Telangana. “It is unprecedented in the history of the country for a Chief Minister to involve directly in a bribery case involving crores of rupees to buy a vote of an MLA,” he said.“I fail to understand,” he said, “though there were audio visual proofs of the involvement of Chandrababu Naidu in the scam, as to why he is not being arrested and Chandrababu Naidu has no moral right to continue as Chief Minister,” he said. “Chandrababu Naidu has preached morals and ethics and demanded for the recall of the Governor. When he and his follower were caught on the video tape the tune suddenly has changed. He has no moral right to continue in the office,” Jagan said. (jnr)
