Krish planning to direct another Hindi flick

0

After the embarrassing failure of NTR biopic, creative director Krish Jagarlamudi is in a dilemma over his next project. He is working on different scripts but hasn’t finalized any of them. Due to the fact that NTR biopic incurred colossal losses for its buyers, Telugu producers are little apprehensive to work with Krish. So, Krish wants to work on a Bollywood film before directing a Telugu project.

Reportedly, Krish is in talks with Hindi superstar Akshay Kumar for a full length commercial entertainer. The duo previously worked for a cop drama Gabbar is Back and bagged accolades from audience. Later, Krish directed Kangana Ranaut in the biopic of Jhansi Lakshmi Bhai. Sources revealed that he has recently met Akshay Kumar and narrated a line. He is currently busy developing the script. If everything falls in place, Krish and Akshay Kumar might reunite again.

Krish eyeing a comeback with commercial genre

0

Acclaimed filmmaker Krish Jagarlamudi received the biggest jolt in his career with the embarrassing result of prestigious NTR biopic. He is generally known for churning out critically acclaimed films which usually under perform at ticket windows. But, NTR biopic ended as a failure both on commercial side as well as creative side. The huge debacle has now put Krish in a lot of dilemma over choosing his next projects.

Sources close to Krish revealed that he is planning to come up with a full length commercial fare in his next outing. Krish believes that the only way he can redeem is by delivering a box office blockbuster. As commercial films have minimum guarantee to succeed, he is planning to pen a solid script laced with plenty of entertaining elements. Producer Rajeev Reddy, a close friend of Krish, might bankroll this project.

Krish is currently busy with the script work and remaining details will be revealed very soon.

Wish more people would’ve seen ‘N.T.R: Kathanayakudu’ in hall: Krish

0

After a turbulent 2018, Telugu cinemas prolific director Krish Jagarlamudi is now at peace with his creative faculties. He wishes more people would have gone to theatres to watch the first part of a saga about actor-politician Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, popularly known as NTR

“I had to complete two political period films. Actually, three, since there are two parts for the NTR saga. So I was working on three biopics one after another. ‘Manikarnika’ (which later Kangana Ranaut took over) and the NTR biopic in two parts. Now that ‘N.T.R: Mahanayakudu’ is finally out, I feel I can sleep in peace.

“I feel like a father whose three daughters are married. For the first time since I started shooting these films I slept peacefully for the whole night. Otherwise, I had forgotten the difference between day and night.”

The first part of the NTR saga “Kathanayakudu” under-performed at the box office. Krish is still in a daze over the outcome.

“I have no clue why the first part of the biopic didn’t do as well. Everyone who saw it, loved it. But not enough people went to see it in theatres. Now that it is on the Internet, I get innumerable messages saying how much people have liked ‘N.T.R: Kathanayakudu’. I wish more people had made an effort to see it on the big screen.

“The two parts of the NTR saga were designed as a big screen experience.”

Many feel the two parts should have been released as one film. But Krish disagrees. “It was not possible to release more than five hours of edited footage as one film. Nor could we cut down on the narrative width. This is not an ordinary man’s story. NTR who played Lord Krishna on-screen was actually revered as god by the people of Andhra. Making a film on his life in close association with his son (actor Balakrishna who plays NTR) has been one of the most enriching experiences of my life.

“I’ve come away a better human being. I hope audiences feel the same at the end of the film.”

Krish and his leading man Balakrishna did contemplate putting all the material together in one film. “We thought we would do a 5-hour film with two intervals, like Raj Kapoor’s ‘Mera Naam Joker’. But the idea was shot own. Today’s multiplex audience won’t sit through such lengthy films.”

“I am confident our film has a long shelf life. People will keep going back to the two-part biopic to know more about the only chief minister of the country who could take on Indira Gandhi.”

The second part has opened to encouraging box office reports.

Rationalising the disparity in the response to the two parts, Krish said: “The political atmosphere was heavily weighed against our film when the first part came out. Now the second part has come with no extra baggage. Audiences are watching it for what it is. An honest, unpretentious tribute to the iconic N.T. Rama Rao.”

On the reports in some section of the media that Balakrishna was unhappy with the end product, Krish called it as wishful thinking of those who can’t bear to see a collaboration so momentous coming to a happy fruition.

“There are people out there who wanted us to fail, wanted us to have a fall-out. Bala sir and I were one in our pursuit of a story that would do justice to the legend. This film couldn’t have been made without the active support of Bala sir. Our effort to tell the NTR story was blessed by god and the great man himself. Nothing could stop us.”

Krish Jagarlamudi too is a victim of NTR – Kathanayakudu

NTR – Kathanayakudu released during Sankranthi and won accolades and received top class reviews from all the corners. However the film failed to rake decent revenues which left many in shock. All the buyers across the globe lost hefty amounts through the film. The film’s director Krish too is a victim as he acquired the theatrical rights of NTR – Kathanayakudu for Guntur region for a price of Rs 6 crores.

He sold half of his share for a local distributor and the film collected close to Rs 3 crores in its final run. Krish finally lost Rs 1.5 crores through Guntur rights of NTR – Kathanayakudu. He pinned all his hops on NTR – Mahanayakudu and is in plans to recover the losses through the second installment. Else the talented director will be losing Rs 1.5 crores from his pocketed remuneration for sure. There are talks that NTR – Mahanayakudu theatrical rights are offered for the same buyers for free and the film will release during the third week of February.

Twitter war: Kangana’s sister Vs director Krish

It is known that there has been exchange of words between Krish and Kangana ever since Krish left  and Kangana took over the project. However, Krish didn’t reveal what exactly happened until the movie is released. As the movie released, he made some sharp comments on Kangana and even told that she was very rude with him.

Kangana’s sister Rangoli reacted on Krish’s comments. She sarcastically told, everyone knows he directed the film and please cool down now and let Kangana enjoy the success of the movie.

Click here: https://www.telugu360.com/kanganas-sister-satire-on-director-krish/
Now Krish started responding to her comments through Twitter and that led to tweet war between Krish and Rangoli.

Krish claims again, he directed 85% of the movie

Krish claims again, he directed 85% of movie and tweeted, “I never thought I’ve to defend my ability of film making based on the manipulations and lies of one person. @Rangoli_A these messages were ur sister’s words about me ehen I’ve questioned her about the credit and the damage she is doing to the movie. The person who saw both d versions mentioned that Ive done 85% n now the techinican who worked on ground told this.”

Then he shared the WhatsApp screenshot of the technician who supported his argument. Krish also tweeted another WhatsApp screenshot from the editor of the movie to support the same claim. He tweeted, ” This is from the editor who edited n later replaced.. the question is not about who shot how much., but its about proceess which everything has been done with ulterior motive n with a poor taste. Pls realise ur lies r making things worse. These r the future film makers I came out n spoke for, so that they wont face these humiliations..

Kangana’s sister responded sharply on Krish claims:

Kangana’s sister Rangeli replied to Krish claims and told why he is buying the arguments of technicians while producer acknowledges Kangana’s work. She tweeted, ” I mean really when producer saying that Kangana has shot 70 percent then why u goin to some technician who was there for few portions . And moreover I have asked u openly to go to Rameshwaram ( editor ) and just clear everything pls.”

She also added that, Kangana has her own team implying technicians supporting Krish didn’t work with Kangana. She tweeted, ” Your team never worked with Kangana she had her own camera and AD team, which is credited separately in the film also…like we said you had completed the film from which only 30 percent is used ( which is not shot by you solo but shot by Nick) ..so they all can go bla bla .”

Kangana’s sister asks Krish to stop harassing:

Rangoli also asked Krish to stop harassing them and speak to producer if he still has any issue. She tweeted, “Why did you lie you were never called when Kangana clearly called you to show the film? yes it is your film also and that is why you have co director credit …Also for your screen name or real name you should speak to the producer stop harassing us!! Plss”

Overall:

Krish, who is generally soft spoken seems to be going overboard on this. Everyone in the industry knows his calibre. He should move on for now and exercise caution while taking up next projects.

Art of deception happened with ‘Manikarnika’: Krish

0

Director Krish who remained silent till the release of ‘Manikarnika’ stated the art of deception happened with the film. Though Krish did not criticise Kangana and the makers, he actually disclosed what happened.

“We shot the film for about 109 days in Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Mumbai and Bikaner but overall I worked for about 400 days for the film. We wrapped up the shooting, post-production works too and that is when I signed ‘NTR’ biopic. When the first teaser released in October, the director’s label had only my name. But when the trailer was released in December, Kangana’s name was included second to mine. The whole thing changed after the release as I see my name after Kangana’s in the direction credits,” said Krish.

Regarding the same, Krish reportedly called on the producers of ‘Manikarnika’ and to his surprise they replied that it was Kangana’s call. He added that his morality and integrity of filmmaking were hurt by this act.

The director also found fault in Kangana’s action for the exit of actor Sonu Sood from the movie. “Sonu had no objections working with a female director or for the fact that Kangana. But his role was changed which he did not accept. He informed that if director Krish makes changes in his character that would be fine. So is the case with Atul Kulkarni’s role,” added Krish.

To be away from controversy and stuff, Krish said he refrained himself from speaking about the film even though media was continuously trying to get at least a single comment from him.

Balakrishna and Krish puzzled about Mokshagna’s Debut

0

Nandamuri Mokshagna will soon make his debut and there have been several speculations about his first film. During the shoot of Balakrishna’s Gautamiputra Satakarni, there have been talks that Krish has been assigned the responsibility to direct Mokshagna and the project will be bankrolled by Sai Korrapati. However soon Balayya clarified that Mokshagna’s entry will take time and his debut film hasn’t been locked.

With Balakrishna shooting for the prestigious NTR’s biopic, speculations started once again about the debut of Mokshagna. Krish is keen on roping in Mokshagna for a key role and Balakrishna too gave his nod initially. But with all the crucial roles assigned, there is no character that suits Mokshagna. The role of young NTR was initially assigned to Mokshagna but it was later essayed by Balayya himself.

Now Balakrishna and Krish are left puzzled about Mokshagna. Balakrishna advised Krish not to forcefully introduce any role for Mokshagna however Krish is keen on introducing Mokshagna through NTR. Earlier Akhil too made a sparkling debut with Manam and impressed in a cameo. Now Krish too is in plans to design Mokshagna’s role so that Nandamuri fans will be left delighted with his debut.

We have to wait for some more time to see if Mokshagna is making his debut with NTR or if Nandamuri fans will have to wait for some more time to watch him on screen.

Is Krish completely disowning Manikarnika ?

0

Director Krish seems to be distancing himself completely from Manikarnika, a period film, starring Kangana Ranaut, based on the warrior princess Jhansi Lakshmi Bhai.

As Manikarnika was delayed inordinately, Krish moved on to his next film which is the prestigious NTR biopic in Telugu. There were reports that Krish would take break from NTR biopic and complete the patch work of Manikarnika. However, there are reports that Kangana Ranaut is overseeing the patch work as Krish is thoroughly involved in his Telugu project.

Now, according to sources, Krish has completely disowned Manikarnika and he might not take part in any of the film’s promotions. The teaser release event of the film will be held on Gandhi Jayanthi. But, Krish is likely to skip the event and he is mostly going to avoid promoting the film.

It would be interesting to see if Krish gets the direction credits in the titles or not as he directed major portion of the film.
