Mega daughter Niharika replaced by Taxiwala heroine?
There is this film that made many look forward to it in awe as popular cinematographer Gnansekhar is producing it. That is exactly a year ago but there is no buzz about it later. In what was said to be just a 30-day scheduled production, featuring Shriya Saran and Niharika Konidela in the leads, there seems that the plans have gone for a toss.
To be directed by newcomer Sujana, the film’s opening ceremony is held grandly with director Krish attending it. The latest update is that Niharika has walked out of the movie citing the delays. Another buzz is that she isn’t confident of the output getting carved by the newcomer director.
After considering many actresses for Niharika’s role, now they have roped in Taxiwala fame Priyanka Jawalkar in that place and producer Raj Kandukari’s son Shiva is likely to romance her. Sources close to this film’s unit remain tightlipped on Niharika’s exit, while they confirm Priyanka is aboard.
The film was supposed to be the story of three different people in Hyderabad backdrop, with one being Shriya who comes out from a slum and another one is an Independent Muslim girl played by Niharika.
Niharika left puzzled after Suryakantam
Mega girl Niharika wanted to make it big in Telugu cinema and she proved that is a good performer with her debut film Oka Manasu. Both her films Oka Manasu and Happy Wedding ended up as commercial disasters and after a while, Niharika is back with Suryakantam which released yesterday. Niharika tasted her third disaster in a row with Suryakantam and the day one numbers left the actress in deep shock.
The film failed to register decent numbers all over. In Telangana, the film faced the heat through Lakshmi’s NTR. With poor word of mouth, the film failed to pickup by evening shows which made it clear that Suryakantam is the third disaster for Niharika. The entire movie unit was left in deep shock with the film’s performance. Rahul Vijay and Niharika played the lead roles in this rom com. Nirvana Cinemas bankrolled the project.
Mega girl is now left puzzled after tasting her third disaster in a row. She is yet to sign her next film.
Happy Wedding will get related to every youth – Niharika Konidela
Mega girl Niharika Konidela who made her debut as an actress with Oka Manasu is all set to test her luck with Happy Wedding which is releasing on July 28th. The actress spoke about films, her love for family, her hobbies and about her future films. Here are the excerpts from her interview given to a Telugu leading daily:
I am keen on picking up interesting projects that have enough prominence for my role. That is why there has been a huge gap between Oka Manasu and Happy Wedding. I rejected 8 scripts in the recent times not because they are bad but I felt that I don’t fit into those roles.
Happy Wedding is a film that every youth gets related to. I loved the way the director narrated the script and I have been waiting for film like Happy Wedding from some time.
I was restricted initially (because I was the only girl in my family), but when I took career as an actor and proved my mettle, my family gained confidence. They are quite relaxed now and gave me a free hand.
I loved the role of Sandhya from Oka Manasu so much and signed the film. It is away from commercial films and the roles regular heroines play. Though my dad asked me to re-consider my decision, I have no regrets of essaying the role and doing the film. I have got to learn enough from the film.
I am a bubbly girl who loves to lead the life to the fullest. There are times when I turn dull and my whole family comes down to change my mood. Despite of their busy schedules, they shower enough love and they stand beside me when needed.
Sleeping is my favorite pass time and I love listening music. Sleep relieves me from pressure and dancing for music is my hobby.
I wanted to learn everything from my childhood. One fine day I joined gymnastic classes but I was left with body pains after day one and called it a skip. Later I joined classical dance classes after which I realized that it was a tough one for me. I learned badminton and skating during my college days.
I am in touch my close buddies. We meet four times in a week and spend enough time. I am a graduate in mass communication and had some gala time during the college days.
My dad is a lover of books. I don’t have patience to read a complete book and my dad reveals about the theme, highlights of the book once he is done with it. I love watching films and I watch them before reading the reviews.
I love and respect myself alot because of which I don’t compare myself with anyone. Life depends on the opportunities we get and how we work hard to succeed in life. Instead of comparing with others, lead a happy life with the given chances.
Niharika’s travel-based rom-com with Pranith Bramandapally

Having made praiseworthy web series’ ‘Muddapappu Avakai’ and ‘Nanna Koochi’ with Niharika Konidela in the past, Pranith Bramandapally is transitioning into a feature film director, the launch of which is scheduled to take place in Hyderabad on Saturday. Niharika will star in the feature too, with Rahul Vijay, action choreographer Vijay’s son, as her co-star. Popular US-based distribution house Nirvana Cinemas is venturing into production with the yet-to-be-titled film.
Speaking to telugu360.com, Pranith had to say this about the film: “It’s a travel-based rom-com packed with emotions in abundance. It would be shot on a tight budget and will roll from Monday. The first schedule will take place in Hyderabad, while the second one in Himachal Pradesh.”
Pranith further added that Sivaji Raja and Sathya are on board for “full-length supporting roles”. “There’s another actress who will be playing key role. I’ve initiated talks with her. She is required for the second schedule.”
Is he nervous? “More than nervous, I’m excited as it’s my dream come true moment,” he noted and added that he approached Niharika as he felt that she was tailor-made for the part and not because he worked with her prior. “I wanted to be sure about the script first before I gave her a narration. Once I was, things moved in the right direction.”
Hari is debuting as a cinematographer with the film, while Mark K. Robin, who wowed one and all with his background score in ‘Awe’, is on board to render tunes.

Producer Marrisetti Raghavayya says he is proud to associate with actress Niharika, grand niece of megastar Chiranjeevi, in his next yet-untitled Telugu project, to be directed by debutant Ravidurga Prasad.
“We are proud to associate with Niharika, who will be seen in an author-backed role. I really liked her work in “Oka Manasu”, and I believe she has a long way to go. I’m also glad to introduce young director Prasad,” Raghavayya told IANS.
Prasad is a former associate of Prabhudheva and Rahul Bose.
Talking about the project, Raghavayya said: “It’s a romantic comedy with a nice twist. Nothing about the film will be run-of-the-mill. We are yet to finalise the full cast and we are in talks to rope in seasoned actors for some important characters.”
Tej trashes rumors about his marriage with Niharika

Mega girl Niharika Konidela is all set to make her silver screen debut in Tollywood with Naga Shaurya’s upcoming film, which is tentatively titled Oka Manasu. The formal launch took place recently and the first schedule is underway in Hyderabad.
According to the latest buzz, talented actor Prakash Raj is likely to essay a prominent role in this love story. It is learnt that Prakash Raj has been approached to play Naga Shaurya’s father in the film and the actor will take a call very soon.
Ramaraju, who directed Mallela Therram lo Sirimalli Puvvu, is going to direct the film and Madhura Sreedhar will produce the film in association with TV9.
Mega heroine’s film launched today
Breaking the stereotype of only males from illustrious families making their way into film industry, Mega heroine Niharika Konidela, daughter of Nagendra Babu, is all set to make the silver screen debut with an upcoming love story which features young hero Naga Shaurya in the lead.
To be directed by Rama Raju of Mallela Teeram fame, the film was formally launched today in Hyderabad. Only the family members of Niharika, Naga Shaurya and few others attended the event which was held in Sai Baba temple in the city.
Madhura Sreedhar and TV9 will jointly produce the film and the regular shooting will commence very soon in Hyderabad. The unit will later move to Vizag to shoot majority of the film. Sunil Kashyap will score the tunes for the film.
