RSS and VHP fire at BJP over Amaravati confusion

The saffron brigade at the national level is throwing all its weight behind the Amaravati farmers’ cause. The RSS and VHP leaders have taken a strong stand to oppose the shifting of AP Capital out of Amaravati. These leaders held meetings internally and took this decision. Especially, the RSS leaders have objected to some BJP national leaders who are talking in different voices on Capital issue. Apparently, this complaint is mainly against BJP MP GVL Narasimha Rao who tried to defend CM Jagan by saying that Capital issue is a prerogative of the state government. After anti-Capital shifting agitation became stronger, GVL disappeared from the scene and stopped all his pro-Jagan comments.

Considering the seriousness of the issue, the RSS leaders asked BJP AP President Kanna Laxminarayana to make sure that no leader crosses party line. The RSS, VHP and BJP should follow a united stand which is for continuing Capital in Amaravati. This is a holy place for the Hindu people. Moreover, none other than Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stone for Amaravati Capital City at Uddandarayunipalem village. The decisions of the saffron brigade came as a big shock to YCP. BJP MP Suresh Prabhu, who was close to PM, met Jagan Reddy but it was not known whether he discussed Amaravati issue.

‘BJP, RSS want to end reservations in garb of discussion’

The Congress on Monday hit out at the ruling BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), accusing them of being anti-Dalit and anti-backward and said they want to end reservations in the backdrop of discussions.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, senior Congress leader P.L. Punia said, “Baba Saheb B.R. Ambedkar believed that socio-economic inequality would be a challenge. Thus reservation was brought in place for the same reason.”

“But the BJP has always been trying to change the Constitution. They always advocate abolishing the Constitution. Now they want to debate reservation,” he said.

Punia said that the BJP tried to end reservations in educational institutions and that it also played an important role in weakening the SC/ST Act.

“During the debate they said that there are some shortcomings in it and it can be misused,” he said referring to the debate on SC/ST Act. “Based on this, the Supreme Court gave its decision,” he said.

Slamming the government, Punia said, “Ending reservation is a well-planned strategy of the BJP and the RSS. They want to end reservations in the backdrop of discussions, which is condemnable and shows their ill thoughts.”

The Congress leader’s remarks came a day after RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat stirred a row after he said that there should be a conversation in a harmonious atmosphere between those in favour of reservations and those against it.

Criticising the BJP for diverting the real issues, Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera said, “It has become the habit of the BJP and RSS to keep raking up issues and creating conflict in the society, issues on which opinions are sharply divided that can divert voters’ attention from day to day problems of the government.”

He said the only motive behind BJP’s decisions is to distract people. Citing examples, he said, “Be it demonetisation or Article 370. People have to understand this trap of BJP, that they try to divert attention from the main issues. The atrocities on tribals and Dalits are not hidden.”

Congress’ Dalit face Udit Raj said that the BJP does not accept the Indian flag and the Constitution. “On December 11, 1948, the RSS had organised a big rally at Ramleela Maidan in Delhi and they also burnt the effigy of Ambedkar.”

Udit Raj alleged that by ending reservations the BJP’s motive is to make people of different communities fight among themselves.

RSS is running Central government, not Modi: Rahul

All India Congress Committee President Rahul Gandhi made a scathing attack on the Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh (RSS) and PM Modi. He accused RSS of running the Central government from its Nagpur headquarters while Modi is just the face of it all and nothing more. Rahul says it is the RSS which is playing a dirty role behind the musical chairs game in the Central Bureau of Investigation where honest officers are replaced by RSS-friendly officers.

Rahul said PM Modi is a cowardly person who is not having enough courage to face the opposition attack on the Rafale jet fighter scam. When the CBI director tried to investigate the PM role in the Rafale scam, the RSS leader Mohan Bhagavat interfered with this and changed the officers at their whims and fancies.

Rahul says in recent days, there is a clear fear in the face of Modi that he will certainly lose the coming general election. He asserted all the RSS friendly employees in key posts in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh will be shifted to non significant posts immediately. Rahul appealed to the Congress sympathisers and activists to wage a united battle as their unity will be the only weapon to chase away RSS and Modi.

Hindus don’t oppose anyone, don’t aspire to dominate: RSS chief

Asserting that Hindus neither oppose anybody nor aspire to dominate, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday said the community needs to unite to end its centuries of sufferings.

Speaking at the 2nd World Hindu Congress here, Bhagwat said the key to unite the world is to control ego and accepting the consensus.

“We do not have any aspects of dominance. Hindus do not live to oppose anybody. We even allow the pests to live. There are people who may oppose us. You have to tackle them without harming them,” said Bhagwat addressing delegates from across the globe.

“Why are we suffering for 1000 years? We had everything but we forgot to practise values. We also forgot to work together. Hindu society has largest number of meritorious people in many sectors. But they never come together, stay together.

“Coming together of Hindus itself was a difficult task. Earlier, when our Swayamsevaks would try to organise people, they would say ‘a lion never walks in a group’, but even that lion or a Royal Bengal tiger who is the king of the jungle… if he is alone, wild dogs together can invade and destroy him…,” he said calling upon Hindus to unite.

The 2nd World Hindu Congress is being held on the occasion of 125th Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s historic speech at the Parliament of World Religions in 1893.

Talking about uniting the world, Bhagwat cited the example of Lord Krishna and Yudhishthir from the Mahabharata, who he said never contradicted each other.

“One of the key values to bring the whole world into a team is to have controlled ego and learn to accept the consensus.

“It is time the Hindu society showcased its oneness to the world and went back to its ancient wisdom and values,” Bhagwat said.

He said that the negative influence of ego should always be avoided.

“Of all the main characters, Krishna never contradicted Yudhishthir and Yudhishthir never disobeyed Krishna because it is important to work unitedly, keeping your ego aside,” he added.

Homosexuality not crime but needs social, psychological solutions: RSS

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Thursday said that it does not endorse homosexuality because it needs to be addressed socially and psychologically but at the same time the organisation agrees with the Supreme Court’s view that same sex relations are not a crime.

“Like SC, we also do not consider this to be a crime. The same sex marriages and relations are not compatible with norms of nature. So, we do not support such relations. Indian society also does not have the tradition to recognise such relations.

“Human beings generally learn from experiences that is why this issue needs to be taken care of at the social and psychological level,” Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh of RSS, Arun Kumar said in a statement.

His remarks came hours after the Supreme Court passed a landmark judgment on Section 377 decriminalising homosexuality.

In a historic verdict, a bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra decriminalised homosexuality between consenting adults by partially striking down Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) as unconstitutional.

RSS to Invite Rahul Gandhi For Event Next Month?

As per sources, The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is likely to invite Rahul Gandhi, to its event next month. It is known how much stir it caused among the party cadre and leaders when Pranab Mukherjerr attended RSS even earlier (https://www.telugu360.com/pranab-mukherjee-could-be-pm-candidate-if-bjp-lacks-majority-in-2019-shiv-sena/). So now, whether RSS will invite Rahul or not and if they invite, will Rahul attend or not is being discussed among political circles.

The RSS event will be a lecture series and will reportedly focus on “India of the future”. It will be held between September 17 and 19 at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will address the lecture series and present the Sangh’s views on “contemporary views of national importance. Apart from Rahul Gandhi, several other opposition leaders, like Sitaram Yechury of the Left, are also likely to be invited. It seems RSS wants to invite people representing different ideologies.

Rahul is sharpest critic of RSS. RSS is a frequent target of attacks from Rahul Gandhi, several times in past. His latest comments made in London provoked a furious response from the BJP, which demanded an immediate apology from Rahul. RSS leaders also made sharp comments on him earlier. When Pranab attended RSS meet in Nagpur, Rahul Gandhi never officially commented but reportedly he was also upset.

We’ll have to wait and see whether RSS will invite him or not and how Rahul responds on this.

Have You Ever Seen Women In RSS Shakhas Wearing Shorts: Rahul Gandhi

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday targeted the RSS and BJP alleging that they did not give any importance to women and asked how many of them were seen attending the Sangh’s ‘shakhas’.

He said in contrast, women work at every level in the Congress.

“The BJP’s thinking is that till women are silent they are good, when they start speaking up they try to shut them (women) up,” Gandhi said at a gathering of students here on the second day of his election campaign in Gujarat.

“Their organisation is the RSS. How many women are there in the RSS… Have you ever seen any woman in shakhas wearing shorts?” he said in a sarcastic tone.

“In the Congress you will see women at every level in the organisation,” he said.

Khakhi shorts were a trademark of RSS volunteers which they used to wear during their drills in the past, before they changed to full pants over an year back.

Gandhi also said that if his party’s government comes to power in Gujarat, it will give importance to women and try to resolve their issues.

The Congress leader began his second day of ‘Navsarjan Yatra’ in central Gujarat region from Vadodara by addressing the students.

He addressed 10 meetings yesterday and offered prayers at the famous Santram Temple in Nadiad.

In the first leg of the Navsarjan Yatra last month, Gandhi had travelled in the Saurashtra.
